No problem with contracts. But SS was a one sided agreement. You couldn’t opt out and you have no control over changes made to it. Technically, not a contract.

A dollar may have been worth more, say in 1945, but if you have a 1945 dollar, it will only buy what a 2010 dollar will buy.

Apparently you never heard of GIC’s guaranteed insurance contracts. Additionall the money taken by FICA 40 years ago was worth more than the $ is today. As for my investments I done well for myself but still will take my SS monthly payment. It’s a contract entered into by myself and the Federal Gov’t that states I can collect at 62 or older. Do you have a problem with contracts?
