On Eve Of Primary, Super PACs Ready To Unleash

January 2nd, 2012 8:39 pm Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) — Look no further than Iowa to understand the impact of a Supreme Court ruling that opened the floodgates to outside money in American politics — and to get a glimpse of what’s in store for the race between President Barack Obama and the eventual Republican nominee.

Independent groups called super political action committees have spent millions on television ads and mailings to boost their favored candidates in Iowa and maim those candidates’ rivals, dramatically influencing what’s been a remarkably fluid race for the GOP presidential nomination.

When a blatantly republican biased Supreme Court rules, you can expect this type of underhanded, irresponsible results. We need to get the Rethuglicans out of politics, the rich and big business are hijacking our country. If we let them get away with this, we will all end up serfs on some rich guys estate.

Most of these types of diatribes are leveled against corporate donations to Republicans. There is little note of the enormous corporate money also donated to the Democrat party. And prior to and after the Supreme Court ruling, there is no concern on left for the enormous contributions made by labor unions, and especially government labor unions to the Democrat party. Hypocrisy will fail to sway many voters.

Rick Santorum along with some others are just racist.. plan & simple. Why would you say your not trying to make lives better for black people? It should be better for all here I’m U.S.A.
This Discuss me so much… :(

Me thinks we all hate racism. Before you call someone a racist, be prepared to prove it. You are just another name caller. I hate stupidity. You are stupid and I can prove it based on you comments.

The liberal author fails to mention democratic manipulators like move on, acorn and of course the super rich leftist Hollywood packs.

How unbelievable it is that this Supreme Court ruling is somehow a Republican invention designed to further the Republican party! There’s just as much money flowing from the left toward Democratic candidates. This Presidential election cycle just doesn’t show it because there are no competing candidates for the Democratic nomination. You (left and right) need to get off your rally wagons and take a look from the street. The ruling is terrible – supported by Repubs and Dems alike who see it as an unrestricted money source to further their personal ambitions and agendas. The losers are we Americans – especially those of us who are willing to take a non-partisan look at things. We see how this onslaught of campaign ads influences less sophisticated voters, especially those who get their info exclusively from Fox News or MoveOn.org.

Without even waiting to see which bad news jerk wins in Iowa, we are all now between the proverbial rock and hard place.
SCOTUS has done a hideous thing with this outrageous ruling but, maybe Scalia or Thomas or one of other other sweethearts that did this thing will croak. Thus the next President will get to make some appointments. If one of the GOP candidates wins it is clear that not much will change on the Court’s warped view of things.
If Obama wins, he will get to appoint, should it come to pass. The problem is that Obama has just shot himself in the foot, albeit very eloquently, he has signed and then defended the truly dangerous bill that permits indefinite detention without charges, trial, representation and sentencing of anybody deemed to have the POTENTIAL, in someway – to be determined by who? – to commit a serious crime. The President has been losing ground with me for some time recently, then made some good moves, but now I am seriously considering not voting for anybody for President from either Party for the first time in all my adult life.
We are truly in very serious trouble and I fear not so much for myself, having carried through to double sevens of age, but for my sons and the other children (all now adult) in my family.

Remember that even if Obama wins and gets to name a new Supreme, if Crossroads gets their way here in Missouri and elsewhere, the Senate goes R and he will face an uphill battle. Assuming RB Ginsberg may be the first to retire, at least BO will only be replacing a liberal voice with presumably another liberal. Now when Kenndy retires, that will be big. cheers all
