DePpardieu Snowden

  • disqus_ivSI3ByGmh

Now that Snowden is in Russia, does anyone else out there NOT think that Putin is gonna have his people pump him for as much information concerning the processes and procedures of NSA data gathering as possible?
Out of all the boneheaded moves Snowden could make, this is the most boneheaded.

  • Jack Ragan

Things are really messed up. Why is a Russian using so many French statements?

    • pangamut

      Because Mr. Depardieu is French.

    • Allan Richardson

Gerard Depardieu is the French politician who moved to Russia, not a Russian.

  • Jim Myers

If Mr. Snowden gives the Russians, or any other government, access to the NSA data, there would no longer be any doubt wether it is Treason.

I, for one, consider what he has already done to be Treason, but giving access to the Russians should be enough to convince those who are on the fence about wether or not he is a traitor.

    • elw

Snowden stepped over the line of being a whistle blower to being a traitor when he started handing out information to China and Russia. Before that point I was conflicted about him. For me personally, It is one thing to talk about the our Government’s blanket surveillance of citizens, something we should all want to keep our eyes on, and another giving information to hostile Countries. Honestly, it will blow over, it is not first time someone has blown the whistle on surveillance programs; however, Snowden has lost his life he will never be able to come home to the Country he claims to love.

      • Jim Myers

My point was that by giving the information to Wikileaks, he was giving access to the information to anyone who wanted it, American, Russian, Chinese, Spanish, etc.

Once the information left his possession, he had no control who would be able to use it.

And, by default, that is Treason.

And now…. The REAL Cartoon Of The Day!

    Have a nice day!

“Tell Vladimir, after my next election, I will have more flexibility.” – Barack Hussein Obozo caught on microphone promising Vladimir he will screw America after he does not have to worry about the stupid voters again.

    • metrognome3830

Once again, OMG, you have posted a cartoon that has no bearing on the subject of the cartoon. I guess your theory now is that Obama, because of his flexibility, must have sent Eric Snowden to Putin as a gift? In your world of conspiracy theories, Obama is secretly selling out the country using Snowden as the messenger? Interesting! Not very probably, but interesting.
Have a nice day. Welcome back, OMG.

      • ObozoMustGo

No Metro, no conspiracy theory to be had here. That connection would not have occurred to the most ardent conspiracist. Are you hiding your true colors, Metro?
You know that many times I will post an alternative point to the cartoon posted by Danziger, but other times I don’t. However, in this case, it 100% relevant. Putin snubs his nose at Obozo over Snowden, and everything else, because Obozo is weak-kneed wimp. Putin has no respect for him. Which is understandable. If he had respect for Obozo, he’d have shipped Snowden back in a hearbeat. This is just another chance for him to thumb his nose at Obozo.

Have a nice day, Metro! Pass my greetings on to Mrs. Metro, please.

        • metrognome3830

Actually, I believe Snowden is spilling his guts to Russia. That’s why Putin lets him come there. I suppose you think we should show Putin how tough we are by removing Snowden by force. Perhaps you want to volunteer your services for the mission, OMG! What service has Snowden performed for the U.S. by leaking information that a lot of people were already aware of?And what a majority are still in favor of. I still maintain that If Snowden acted in a spirit of altruism, he would not have flew off to Hong Kong. He would have stayed right here and made the case for what he did. What is he doing now? He is hiding out in countries that are not friends of the U.S. and divulging what information he has to them. Quite likely for money. He has admitted that he took the job in order to obtain the information and expose it. To anybody who wants it. Not just to us. The only possible reason I can see for you to approve of his actions, is because it can be used to embarrass Obama.
My conspiracy theory was done tongue-in-cheek, OMG. My attitude on Edward Snowden is dead serious. The best I can say of him is he is a f”””ing idiot!
Hope you had a good day, OMG!

          • ObozoMustGo

Metro… you’re missing the point. It is not about Snowden. It’s about the fact that, without the Snowden incident, Putin knows that Obozo is a weak-kneed punk. He has no respect for him, and the Snowden incident is just another example of that level of disrespect. That’s all. In fact, most of the world has no respect for Obozo. And LIKE and RESPECT are 2 different things. The leftist freaks of the world confuse the 2. Our enemies can hate us, but they better respect us. They no longer do since Obozo took office. They all know he’s just a community organizer who’s incompetent in the role he currently finds himself.

Re: Snowden… if he’s compromising access to our systems by Russia or China, he should fry! I’ll pull the switch.

            Have a nice day, Metro!

“If you don’t read the newspaper you are uninformed, if you do read the newspaper you are misinformed.” — Mark Twain

          • metrognome3830

Like and Respect usually go together, OMG. You are confusing respect with fear. When people are afraid of you they usually don’t respect you. They just comply because they are afraid of you. Conversely, people who are liked are also respected much more often than people who are feared. Authoritarian righties often depend more on fear and intimidation and when people stand up to them, they often turn out to be weak-kneed punks. Our problem is, as a country, that we have relied on fear and intimidation. Now other countries are no longer intimidated. That is a situation that can not be blamed on any one person, president, congressman or one group of citizens, but on the country as a whole. If you think you can intimidate Vladimir Putin, I’ll go with you. I’ll hold your coat while you intimidate him. And if you succeed, I’m sure you will have his utmost respect. He’ll be too scared to say otherwise. He would probably be so respectful that he would sneak up behind you and sucker punch you — just to show his deep and abiding respect.
I agree, actually, that Obama should probably be a bit more forceful. But look what happens when he is. Then the righties in the house begin whining and sniveling that he’s trying to be a dictator. The weak-kneed punks!
            Have a wonderful evening, OMG!

          • ObozoMustGo

Like and respect absolutely are 2 different concepts and do not necessarily go together. Especially in foreign affairs. It’s a leftist fantasy to believe that “if we are just nice to them, they will like us”. Absolute fantasy and bullsheet! There are people that HATE the USA because of our success and cultural imact around the world. This is true with socialists and muzzies in the ME. They will NEVER like America, no matter how much Obozo bows and bends to them. No matter how much US Taxpayer dollars he gives them. No matter how much he helps the radical muzzie bro’hood take over countries. They will still HATE America. Knowing that, there is no effort we can undertake that will change their minds, and therefore, fear IS respect. They don’t fear us with Obozo in charge. He’s a weak-kneed punk and they know it. Putin knows it and gives Obozo the middle finger like he’s an annoying little child. He swats Obozo like a fly. Funny how you say Obozo should be more forceful, but then blame Republicans for his incompetence. Come on, Metro, you’re not one of those leftst freak sycophants. Cut it out.

            Have a nice day!

I wrote a reply, then Disqus said I had to log in. When I did my whole reply disappeared and I don’t have the time to write it all again. I’ll try again tomorrow. I believe it is a conspiracy by right wing Tea Partiers. Or maybe Glenn Beck. Have you been forwarding my replies to him? I detect a rodent here.

          • ObozoMustGo

Hi Metro! I’ve had that happen before, too. It pisses me off. Doesn’t matter anyway.. I’ve been gone with my son to a big hockey tournament. His team won it all. And this topic is beat to hell and old. Let’s argue about something else. hehehehhe
            Have a great day, Metro!

          • metrognome3830

Congratulations to your son — and to his dad, of course, for raising him to be a winner.
Yeah, there isn’t a whole lot of life left in the old topic. Time to let it retire. I have a great deal of confidence that we can find something else to argue about. I have been somewhat distracted myself. Mrs. Metro had surgery today to replace her right hip. She seems to be doing well. But she has been largely incapacitated for a couple of weeks and she is not going to be able to be of much assistance for awhile after the surgery. In the meantime, we are in the mist of a kitchen renovation and installing new floors. Besides taking care of my two dogs, I am taking care of a friend’s 90-lb. Lab/Chow mix. Nice dog, but takes up a lot of room. And I also take care of two houses during the summer for a couple of Snowbirds who escape the heat by going to Oregon for the summer. Now I can add an invalid wife. Oh, well, I guess that’s what keeps me from giving in to old age.
Uncle Joe wasn’t able to accomplish what he predicted, was he. Those who would undermine us have the most difficulty understanding patriotism. They confuse our freedom and the courage to voice our dissatisfaction with a lack of patriotism. But I guess one could make a case for some slippage in morality and spirituality. But, fortunately we have managed to put a lot of those who lack morality and a spiritual life in congress where we can keep track of them. Now we just have to figure out how to neutralize them. As someone has said more than once, “They may be sons-of-bitches, but they are OUR sons-of-bitches.”

Metro, I will let my son know that my favorite blog buddy Metro says congrats. Thanks.

Holy cow! Mrs. Metro is getting a new hip? YIKES!!! It hurts at first, but in about 2 months, she’ll be ‘lovin it’ like an Ethiopian at McDonalds after a tour of duty in the desert! My mom had both knees replaced. Killed her for a while but she’s been great since recovery a couple of years ago. Now, about that dimensia she’s got………. rather have bum knees than a bum mind. I feel horrible for her. It’s crushing to see happen.

Metro, you’re running a kennel, for Pete’s sake. You must have more dog hair flyin around that house than you can possibly use to make fur coats. Sheeesh!!! All that while you’re remodeling? You are certifiably nuts!!!!! Wish I was there to help you with the remodeling. Not much of a craftsman but I do follow directions and have a strong back. Caveat…. I’m alergic to hairy dogs.

I gotta run. Take care, Metro, and tell Mrs. Metro to hang in there. I’ll put in a special request with the Big Guy Upstairs for her.

Have a nice night, my friend!

How does it feel to know that all of your Obama rants are just like pissing in the wind? Obama is still the President and he’s still black.

Do try to have a nice day anyway!

      • ObozoMustGo

What’s up whut, you racist pig?

        Have a nice day!
