Well, there is no reason citing the reason for Kerry to support Markey but Markey would be the second special election nominee who is concerned about and understands climate change. The new Senator from Hawaii expressed his intention to address climate change as a priority when he was elected and Markey has been fighting on the issue for years. That alone is good enough reason to support him for the Senate.
