Jon Stewart Says A Gallon Of Paint Helps George W. Bush ‘Drown Out The Screams’ Of Those He Wronged

The Daily Show‘s Jon Stewart will go down in history for his constant and inspired ridicule of the 43rd president of the United States. So when the ex-president emerged from a four-and-a-half year “hibernation” during which he rarely spoke publicly — unless he was earning huge speaking fees — Stewart was ready.

Before calling the George W. Bush Presidential Library the “Hard Rock Cafe of catastrophic policy decisions,” Stewart noted that unlike his predecessors, Bush spends his retirement painting. In his hilariously inaccurate impression of Bush, the comic said, “Sometimes it seems only a gallon of paint can drown out the screams of those I’ve wronged.”

Sadly, Bush doesn’t seem haunted by his decisions. In fact, his center includes a “Decision Points” game — that Stewart suggests was originally called “Disasterpiece Theater” — where the ex-president gets to tell you how right he was.
