I’m a little confused, but maybe I’m just not reading it right. Your last paragraph begins with the sentence, “Mitt Romney had started to close the gender gap.” In what way had he begun to do that? I was under the impression that Mittens was all about … maybe this is too harsh a word, but all about debasing women. Was he, actually, at one point, in favor of women’s equality?

Dishonest. Crowley walked back her fact-check immediately after the debate. Obama did not explicitly call it an act of terror in the speech and she recognized that. If you have the memory of a gnat, you’ll recall that all his surrogates and Obama himself were talking up the “film protest” story on every show, including Obama on Letterman. Which is it? Did he call it a terror attack, then lie about it afterwards, or did he not explicitly call it a terror attack in that speech, in which case, he just lied and the debate and the biased moderator let him get away with it? One or the other must be true.

That’s absolutely ridiculous….. I’m a female AND an Independent, and I think this non-issue is even more idiotic than the Dems making an issue of Big Bird. Why can’t you people ever talk about REAL issues that affect women’s lives? Having worked in Human Resources for years, we used phrases like ‘a file full of women’ or ‘a stack of minorities’ all the time in referring to various separations of thousands of resumes.

When you can’t battle on the issues, nit-pick on a word or phrase.

You think equal pay for equal work is bullshit political correctness? That was what the question was about. Romney immediately side-stepped that question and prattled on about binders of women (which, despite all of the joking, everyone knows he didn’t mean in an objectifying way). He said nothing in his response that addressed what the audience member asked.

Michelle I think you have made an excellent point. Even though I am strongly opposed to the GOP ideology and proposed policies, I have to continuously remind myself to try to be more balanced and less emotional about my position. The fact that the country has become so evenly and violently divided is disturbing, and worrying.
