Miyazato Takes Early Lead At Women’s British Open
September 15th, 2012 12:33 pm Associated PressHOYLAKE, England (AP) — Cristie Kerr slipped to a double-bogey 5 on the par-3 ninth, her final hole, to spoil solid morning play in the delayed second round of the Women’s British Open at Royal Liverpool on Saturday.
The American’s 73 left her at 1-over 145 after two rounds, four strokes behind early leader Mika Miyazato of Japan, who added a 70 to her opening 71.
Michelle Wie and Morgan Pressel are alongside Kerr at 145. Wie had a 70 and Pressel shot 73 in calmer conditions after the first round was called off and scored nullified Friday because of high wind.
