Newt Cries While Recalling Late Mother

December 30th, 2011 9:53 pm Associated Press

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Newt Gingrich choked up and wiped away tears Friday while recalling his late mother’s struggle with depression and mental illness.

Speaking at an event with mothers in Des Moines, Iowa, the former House speaker said his focus on brain science issues stems directly from “dealing with the real problems of real people in my family.”

This is pathetic. Is he trying to emulate Boehner? The Republican candidates are the fringe.

Well, it is nice to know that someone in the government admits they are human! One of the things that has happened in this country is a whole generation who has learned how to hide their feelings, lie and deny, or cry on cue only!

No, I don’t think Newt was faking it. He is from the old school and just his rambling ways tips one off to know he is an emotional human being. In this regard, I admire him.

It is sad we have learned so well to veil emotions whether it is over losing a job, losing a mate, losing an election….etc. How do you suppose we end up with so many Mothers killing their children, politicians beating their wives, children killing their parents or torturing them for money, killing business partners, hiding the fact we are Christians, Mormons, Catholics, Jewish, etc. etc. etc., not to mention our suicide rate in this country. I am not saying it makes for a good President. I am saying it makes for a good person and we need more of them in life!

Sometimes you can get through your youthful years with a hard crust, but eventually life gets to you. You will find far more seniors tearing up at emotional moments than 20 somethings, because they have seen far more life, far more human destruction and far too much damage inflicted on the human race by itself. I would guess dagumpster is in the 20-30 category where everything is viewed through their immature prism.

This is first time that I can recall ever seeing any display of human emotion coming from the automaton that is Newt. It seemed a real upwelling of the love he had for his mother and it seemed to surprise him. It lasted just a brief moment, but I believe it may have softened his persona to some voters. Ultimately it will make little difference, if any, in the outcome of the primaries. He is just too strident and coarse for the vast majority of American to accept as the leader of the free world.

How could anybody vote for Newt? He lied about his lobbying, he even lied about why he left as Speaker. He had his choice of resigning or being thrown out. He was fined $300K for his misdeeds.

Why do so many people vote against their best interests? We have people struggling financially voting to elect Repukes who care about nobody but the rich. Trickle down the leg economics has a 30 year history of failure and nearly flipped us into a depression.

Stop the madness. NEVER VOTE FOR A REPUKE.

It’ll take a lot more than a few crocodile tears to make this Newt (who should be named Slug) seem at all ‘human’ to me. The leftwing GOP establishment has trotted out Newt (and Perry) to try and present the public with another ‘non-choice’ as they did in 2008.

No, Patti, he’s not emulating The Boner,he would need to be drunk to pull that off.
He is just using another slimy technique to garner votes. The man has no moral boundaries.
