Obama: Economy Can’t Afford ‘self-inflicted Wound’

December 29th, 2012 11:07 am Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is urging Congress to reach a deal to avoid the fiscal cliff, saying the nation “can’t afford a politically self-inflicted wound to our economy.”

Obama says in Saturday’s radio and Internet address that he believes leaders in Congress may be able to reach an agreement that can pass both houses before taxes rise and spending cuts take effect at the end of the year.

He urges “Washington politics” to not get in the way of “America’s progress.”

In the Republican address, Missouri Sen. Roy Blunt says “inaction shouldn’t be an option” and the nation can avoid going over the fiscal cliff if Obama and the Democratic-controlled Senate work with Republicans to solve the problem.

I think Sen. Roy Blunthas got this backwards it’s the Republicans that should be working with President Obama and the Democratic -controled Senate Sen Blunt obviously forgot who won the election remember to the winner goes the spoils, but first they need to get rid of that asshole obstructionist Mcconnall and anybody that agrees with his way of thinking that’s why we are in the mess we’re in and while tour at it if Grover Norquist stick his nose in it throw his ass in jail for impersonating a human being.

Neither the economy, nor our society, can afford the ridiculously low tax rate we currently enjoy, the resultant deficits, the need to borrow to pay for the programs we benefit from and pay for the crusades we love to hate, and we definitely can not embrace anarchy as a placebo for the paranoia that afflicts a small segment of our society.
Harry Reid should do what a leader of the party that won the election on 11/6 should do. Put his bill, which extends the tax rate that applies to 98% of Americans and 97% of small businesses for an up and down vote on the floor of the Senate. If it passes, and it will pass, send it to the House. If they sit on their behinds, we can assume they agree, and then send it to the President for signature.

Senator Harry Reid well knows: “T’aint over ’til the fat lady sings” … This Fiscal BLUFF is just that – more “Fear Mongering” by both National Political Parties to maintain the “Status Quo”, their grip on the bloated Department of War & Pentagon budgets together with their time-proven shenanigans to continue screwing “We The People” with straight faces in place! Money has always & will continue to talk inside the Beltway – and thanks to Corporate Welfare there’s plenty for each & every House & Senate member!
