China may prove to be a mistake, because if he brought his data with him, they will be able to decrypt and read ALL of it, not just the part he wanted to leak. And if not, they will be able to torture what he knows out of him (remember how effective their interrogators were in Korea and Vietnam). The only thing he is safe from is a U.S. drone attack, since even George W. Bush would not risk war with China (Romney I’m not so sure). And our SECRETS are not safe in any case; that damage has already been done.

Or maybe he DID bring a thumb drive, and it “accidentally” contains a virus that will cripple the Chinese censorship regime that walls off Chinese internet users from the world … whether he himself knows it or not.

With all the hacking the Chinese military has been doing, for a long time, of American computer systems, they may already know all that Snowden knows. His main value to China is likely to be as a political show piece, to recruit other, more effective spies, to come out of the “Capitalist cold.”

      paranoid just a little ?

There’s not even been such an accusation from the government, don’t buy into the McWar senators mindset that we’re at war or should be with China and Russia. REMEMBER !!! We are the ones who have attacked another country under trumped up false pretenses not China and Russia. CAN YOU SAY IRAQ ? Do you feel Safer now because because we did this and put the world on notice of how dangerous we are ? Do you feel safer knowing that the Government now has a record accessable to them of all of your Private communications?

I agree with you that we should not be at war with China or Russia, but even in peacetime the intelligence skirmish continues. Knowing that some people in China and Russia have hacked into American networks, and that the Chinese and Russian citizens most likely to be ABLE to do so are within their governments, it would not be unreasonable, if it is technically feasible, to build Stuxnet-like worms and infect one employee’s computer, feed that employee a “honey pot” of disinformation, and “guide” that employee to steal the data and flee to one of those countries. If they really do not try to steal the data, they will have no problems; if they give in to temptation, they may end up feeding us their own good information, or having the Great Internet Wall become somewhat more porous, or the like.

And now…. The REAL Cartoon Of The Day!

    Have a nice day!

“This Administration [the Bush Admin.] also puts forward a false choice between the liberties we cherish and the security we demand. I will provide our intelligence and law enforcement agencies with the tools they need to track and take out the terrorists without undermining our Constitution and our freedom.

“That means no more illegal wire-tapping of American citizens. No more national security letters to spy on citizens who are not suspected of a crime. No more tracking citizens who do nothing more than protest a misguided war. No more ignoring the law when it is inconvenient. That is not who we are. And it is not what is necessary to defeat the terrorists. The FISA court works. The separation of powers works. Our Constitution works. We will again set an example for the world that the law is not subject to the whims of stubborn rulers, and that justice is not arbitrary.

“This Administration acts like violating civil liberties is the way to enhance our security. It is not.” – Barack Hussein Obozo, Hypocrite-in-Chief, August 2007

I have no messiahs Boz.. There’s no one in this world that I look up to. I’m like most stiffs, I note who leads us then wait it out hoping the next one will be better. It never happens because they, like me are human with human frailties (some more than others). That you think Obama is the worst thing that ever happened to the free world, I once thought (as others) that Bush held that distinction but the biggest joke of all is they were and are simply the precursors of our next hated leader that will likely spawn the next one who will continue the trend. We just can’t seem to realize that we don’t need any over-seers, all we need is genuine morality toward each other then all the rest will fall into place because we will all have the intellect to choose from morality. I’m tired of fighting.. trying to convince others that Obama was what we needed.. What you have to admit is that you don’t have to convince others that we were wrong, because.. We have all been wrong by allowing those in the shadows to hand pick the choices that have always been given for us to choose from..

          • ObozoMustGo

Yo Dawg! What up? I’m tired of arguing also. I supported Bush early on until I realized he was just another big government progressive. His record reflects that. The left just hated and vilified him because he was openly Christian. Other than that, he was no different than Obozo. Both are progressives and between the 2 of them, they are bankrupting our nation, fleecing all of us while keeping us focused on arguing with one another by dividing us with their rhetoric. I am a firm believer that most Americans (80%) are actually live and let live libertarians (small L intended), but have been caught up in the R vs. D argument. How about I live my life how I want, worship God how I want, or not, and you do the same. I respect your right to live your life the way you want so long as you respect mine. And we all get along. I agree with you that it is not totally possible without some moral underpinnings in the majority of people. But we can get a lot further along that curve toward liberty than we are today.

          • DurdyDawg

Oooh! That’s a nasty thought Boz.. But if that’s what the shadows wants us to choose from then I guess the dummies will get in line and again choose the lesser of two evils just as they’ve been doing since Nixon, not realizing (nor caring I suppose) that they in no way can tell the difference between the two.

          • ObozoMustGo

Yo Dawg! What up? Agreed. I think that at leasst 1/3 of America is completely clueless and cares more about who’s winning American Idol than they do about who their political leaders are and how they’re being screwed. Those are the ones that get their idea of who to vote for from John Stewart and brief news bytes. They are the demise of America because it allows the activist leftists to have fertile ground where they can spread their lies unchallenged.
