Red state leaders who do not want to restore voting rights to felons AFTER they have served their complete term often say, “but convicted felons are more likely to become Democrats.” That may be partially true, but the other half of that statement is:
UNCONVICTED felons are more likely to be Republicans!
Give a man a gun and he can rob a bank. Give a man a bank and he can rob the world.
Damn, Allan, you really have a jones for the Republicans, don’t you? Of course, your profile does include more than just “Republicans”. Kelly, with help from Eric Holder, could finally bring some closure to the 2007/2008 crash. We can only hope.
Well said, Allen. I am begining to see the undercurrent of the Pro-business plan to fill the jails with petty thieves and true criminals in order to have no space available for business people whose corporation pays a fine and they walk.
Business people get special treatment even if convicted of a crime. There was an article I believe I had read on National Memo site telling about 2 white collar criminals that were allowed to pick the day and time that they turned themselves in to start serving their prison and it seems like they never went to Fed Med until a year after they were convicted. And another white criminal at the time had been sentenced to prison for 8 years? 3 years before and had yet to go to prison to service his sentence. the judge kept giving him time to get his affairs in order, to see his son graduate and I don’t remember the other reasons and I am not sure that he has reported to start serving his time yet and the time given to him I think was 8 years. If someone like you or me had committed the same financial white collar crime this three had we wouldn’t have been allowed to pick the day and time we went to prison nor would we have been given any time to get our affairs in order, to see a child graduate and so on yet it happens for white collar higher management financial white collar workers regularly
