This was very well, said. Did you happen to see the clip of, Paul Ryan, how he explained how an abortion was performed? Sick…Yes, both, Romney & Ryan, running with their tail between their legs…they know they just got sucker punched in the face, with Mr. Akins, and his ignorance, re: “Legitimate Rape”..REALLY! They both signed, for, “Ban on Abortion” along with their buddy, Akin…it would make them hypocrites. Romney has all sons, but one day he will have granddaughters, he does have a wife…she needs to wake up. Paul Ryan, has a wife & daughters, tell me that he would make them carry a child, that was conceived from being raped? Hi Wife, his daughters, REALLY! Who in the hell do they think they are anyway, telling women what they can & can’t do with their body. For all you ladies that want to vote for these morons, your body belongs to you , it is your “Constitutional Right” “Rowe -v-Wade,” hello. He knows he can’t David, because that would make him a hypocrite. Both, Romney & Ryan, signed the bills for “Ban on Abortions” along with their buddy, Mr. Akin. Romney has all sons, but how disrespectful to his wife. He will have granddaughters some day. Mr. Romney, has a wife & daughters, I find it hard to believe that he would make them carry a child that is conceived from being raped. Besides, who in the hell do they think they are, telling women what to do with their body. It is our “Constitutional Right” it is our choice. Come on, Ladies, Wake Up..Why would you vote for someone who wants to control your body…your body is your temple…don’t let them have it.

It seems to me that if any republican is asked a question that requires actual thought their brain automatically shuts down as though they’ve been raped.

But the real kicker is the second part of his stupidity when he adds “the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.” What “whole thing” is he referring to? He must think that children are found in the pumpkin patch.

A good example of the need for the existance of Planned Parenthood.

I suggest that the Democrats take the GOP’s phony, self-rightious, so-called principled stands, i.e. “We never compromise, we’ll agree on common ground terms only”, and hang it right around Ryan’s neck. If this definition of rape appears in a bill where Paul Ryan and Todd Akin collaborated, then it had to be ‘common ground’ between the two. We know these Republicans are too highly principled to ever imagine that Ryan ‘compromised’ with Akin and Ryan thereby allowed the language to go in the bill. Ryan and Akin could only have found common ground with this definition of rape.

Oh, what’s that? Republicans will compromise with each other? So what is this about Republicans being too morally beautiful to compromise?
So which is it Ryan? Did you find common ground with Akin or did you thoroughly debase yourself and compromise?

I saw a number of people on a comment page yesterday who were defending the Akin “shut down response” as factually accurate. Amazingly, there are a lot of Republicans who think its true. When we find out the source for the reasons why Republicans legislate the way they do, we are routinely amazed.
Like their love for Israel, for instance. You think they love Israel because of its global strategic importance? You think its because they love the Jews? Wrong and Wrong.

The ignorant, the bigot and the racist have all found comfortable homes in GOP-ville.

Some people in the media call the condemnation of Akin a “decent stance”; normally, I’d agree, but, we’re talking about the Party of Hypocrisy, The Republican Party…nearly every GOP politician in this country has, at one time or another, advocated for “backdoor” abortion bans, either in word or indirectly, like personhood bills. The GOP are experts at condemning someone and being hypocrites simultaneously. Alumahead is 1000% correct about the proximity of the elections being a factor of the GOP’s “condemnation”.
If you’re a GOP moderate or an undecided Independent voter reading this, how much more proof do you need that the GOP have the best interests of only three groups of “people” in mind: zygotes/fetuses (and don’t give a sh!t afterwards unless the child is born into a rich family); angry, rich old white men (and their offspring) and big corporations?!? Do you truly support their abortion ban, their Reverse Robin Hood fiscal policies, their hypocrisy, their corruption, their elitism, their fascism, their incompetence, their bigotry, their greed and their arrogance?!? If you’re like me, you get tired of seeing their politicians and talking heads giving us nothing but GOP BS, hypocrisy, talking points, deflections and distortions when they speak. They essentialy abandoned the truth in 2000 because they knew (and still know) that it doesn’t back them up. I dunno about you, but I’m not so stupid as to believe their BS, which is why I, a Progressive Non-Affiliated voter, don’t intend on voting for a Republican (or even a Libertarian, who aren’t much better than the GOP) anytime soon. The GOP have been infiltrated by extremist and ignorant idiots, which is why many GOP moderates have left the party and Independents are shying away from them, too.
We have an important choice to make in November: if you want to replace our democracy with a fascist corporate plutarchy, by all means, vote Republican. If you want to keep our democracy, vote DEMOCRAT, a straight ticket, to do that. By the way: in North Carolina, apparently, if you want to vote a “straight ticket”, you have to vote for that in addition to voting for all candidates of a particular party…it’s a really stupid voting law there, so beware.
