Rudy Giuliani Forgets About 9/11, Despite Being The Mayor Of New York City On 9/11

In a speech introducing GOP nominee Donald Trump in Youngstown, Ohio on Monday, former Mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani appeared to forget about the terror attack that occurred under his mayoral tenure, the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2011.

Giuliani said Monday night that in the “eight years before [President Barack] Obama came along, we didn’t have any successful radical Islamic terrorist attack in the United States.”

Giuliani the claimed “all” the terror attacks started “when Clinton and Obama got into office” — untrue even without counting 9/11.

The internet, of course, immediately took note of Giuliani’s horrific gaffe and began tweeting up a storm in response. The New York Daily News  ran a cover this morning blasting the former-Mayor for his comments:

As CBS News notes, in the days following the 9/11 attacks, Giuliani became the face of healing for the city, and discussed the incidents so often that Vice President Biden once said the only things Giuliani mentioned in a sentence were “a noun, a verb and 9/11.”
