In another classic moment of the GOP debates, Romney was enraged when Rick Perry said that Mitt deleted a line from his book that said RomneyCare should be the model for the nation. Romney said he would bet him that it wasn't. How much? Just $10,000. About as much money Mitt made during this passing but eternal moment.

As Herman Cain's book tour suddenly turned him into a frontrunner for the GOP nomination, allegations began to surface. Had Cain settled sexual harassment cases in the past? He did comedy a favor and had a press conference to fact the allegations. Who was behind them? The Democrat Machine. It was classic right wing sleight of hand that spawned one of my favorite Twitter accounts.

Before he'd even wrapped up the GOP nomination, Mitt's advisor Eric Fehrnstrom explained the candidate's general election strategy. He would shake his record like an Etch A Sketch. With Mitt's record of flipflopping, this seemed to be the perfect metaphor. However, the laughter at the time may be behind why Mitt has never actually turned toward the center and attempted to appear moderate.

In the comfort of his donors, Mitt Romney revealed what he actually thinks about people who will vote for his opponent. They're "victims" who are "dependent" on the government for food and health care. But the humorous highlight of the tape is when Romney joked that his chances would be better if he were Latino.

It's already an iconic image: Clint Eastwood arguing with a chair. Mitt thrilled at the chance to parody the president using one of Hollywood's own. But he ended up creating a parody of a Romney voter.
