“Job-Killing” Healthcare Law Didn’t Kill Job Growth

Matt Yglesias at ThinkProgress flags a St. Louis Fed chart (and adds a marker of his own) showing that the jobs picture actually improved markedly in the months after passage of the Affordable Care Act in March of last year, despite Republican promises that it would bring growth to a halt.

This isn’t to say that the jobs picture is a rosy one, not by a long shot, but rather the the lack of aggregate demand–and not helping save thousands of lives each year by providing basic health insurance–is the problem with the economy.
