Uh, well, I’m speechless. & considering what Texans have meant to the nation when gaining political office (by hook or crook), it’s typical of what my Mom’s generation believed, that it was abuse to leave a child in the hot sun too long… as the consequences are WAY TOO OBVIOUS!!! So no need wondering why he has voters that support him… in Texas… Ya know, I got an idea!!! Lets make D.C. a ‘state’, allow Texas to secceed & call call it even!!!

I doubt if that is LITERALLY true, but it does seem to capture the (evil) spirit of that kind of “Christianity” quite accurately. It reminds me of Dostoevsky’s dream vision of Christ and the Inquisitor. For those who have not read it, Jesus comes back to earth and is arrested by the Inquisition. The chief Inquisitor, knowing full well that this is the man he is supposedly worshiping, argues with Christ that when He rejected the temptation to worship Satan and tap into the money and power structure of the world, it was a mistake. But the Church “corrected” that “mistake” and was able to convert more souls than Christ and his early apostles had done. As we know, Dostoevsky was writing within the Russian Orthodox Church, which is separate from but not too dissimilar from the Roman Catholic Church, especially in his day.

Taken over the country as a whole, Democratic candidates for the House and Senate got more votes than Republican candidates in 2012 by about the same margin as Obama’s popular vote victory. The Senate now has a Democratic majority, although not a filibuster-proof majority. The House lost some Republican seats, but not enough. Why? Because Republicans who picked up state legislatures and governorships in 2010 (a census year, and a year in which voter turnout was lower) decided to gerrymander Congressional districts to guarantee the House majority.

Democratic leadership has already started the process of activating for the 2014 elections. The most daunting obstacle to Democrats is the rash of voter suppression laws coming out of gerrymandered statehouses.

Damn, these radical lunatics hate supporting a President who actually gives a damn about the middle class, our seniors and sustaining a safety net for the poor. They seem to hate that he feels that the wealthy, who are the only ones who actually thrived during an economic crisis, should contribute more to the treasury, not hide the money they made in the USA, in foreign bank accounts and export our jobs. So this “pro-Muslim” President, who was the one who actually killed Bin Laden and who has done more to destroy Al-Quaeda’s leadership and their ability to perform major terrorist attacks, than any previous administration, is actually conspiring to allow them to perform attacks. I hope the GOP continues their crazy ranting and totally ludacris attacks on the President, as they are just digging their own political graves.

The problem is that those smart, white, not mean Republicans aren’t standing up to condemn the Republicans who ARE mean and making up lies and sounding delusional. Anyone who’s not coming forward to end the nastiness and work toward a solution is part of the problem.
