Smart. Sharp. Funny. Fearless.

WASHINGTON — Wednesday was a hard day for pro-Israel liberals.

Some of the dejection arose from sheer surprise over Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s victory, and especially the size of his margin. The pre-election polling — by law, polls can’t be published within five days of voting — showed Netanyahu’s Likud Party trailing Isaac Herzog’s Zionist Union, the main opposition that allies Israel’s historic center-left Labor Party with the smaller centrist party of former Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni.

On Tuesday, the exit polling found Likud essentially tied with the Zionist Union. Netanyahu’s apparent 30-to-24 seat advantage over Herzog in Israel’s 120-member parliament emerged only when nearly all the votes had been counted in Wednesday’s early morning hours. Senator John McCain (R-AZ), proclaimed on Twitter: “Congrats to Bibi — the comeback kid!”

But far more disturbing than Netanyahu’s electoral miracle (at his victory party, his supporters proclaimed him a “magician”) was the way he brought it about. Seen abstractly as a matter of pure politics, his moves were brilliant. Viewed in light of Israel’s long-term survival, they were reckless, or worse.

Netanyahu’s only path to survival was to boost Likud’s vote and seat-share at the expense of smaller right-wing parties. And so he tacked hard to the right. He abandoned his publicly stated support for a Palestinian state and engaged in what The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg saw as a version of the old Republican “Southern strategy” that had been aimed at consolidating white votes.

On Election Day itself, Netanyahu made reference to the relatively high turnout among Israel’s Arab voters and declared: “Right-wing rule is in danger. Arab voters are streaming in huge quantities to the polling stations.” Goldberg translated this as: “The Arabs are coming!”

That Arab citizens can vote in Israel reflects its commitment to democracy. A “Joint List” that aligned various Arab parties in a single bloc emerged as Israel’s third largest party. Yet as Goldberg noted, the Joint List was not the real threat Netanyahu faced. It was just an excuse for incendiary words to rally the right.

They did. Polling analyst Mark Blumenthal and his Huffington Post colleagues noted the right-of-center and religious parties had been slated by the pre-election polls to win 57 seats — exactly where the current tallies have them. Days earlier, polls showed Netanyahu winning only 21 or 22 of those seats. He won 30. The Jewish Home Party, led by next-generation right-wing politician Naftali Bennett, ran three to four seats below the pre-election poll projections, while the far-right Together Party, once projected at four seats, appears to have been shut out of the Knesset, Israel’s parliament, pending final returns.

So in electoral terms, Netanyahu’s gambits worked. But at what cost to Israel’s future?

Israel was already divided, but the harshness of the campaign split it further. The Israeli center-left very nearly succeeded in making the campaign about Israel’s social and economic problems and the country’s sharp class divide. Those will not go away. But in the end, Netanyahu made this into the one election he could win, focusing voters’ attention on security just before they cast ballots. As the political writer Anshel Pfeffer noted in the left-of-center newspaper Haaretz, the Israeli left needs a dose of populism to “truly engage with the Israeli working class.” Sound familiar?

Much will depend on Moshe Kahlon, a one-time Likud politician who was the other big winner on Tuesday. He broke with Netanyahu to form a new, more centrist party that secured ten seats. The betting in Israel is that he will join Netanyahu’s coalition. But the side bet is that because he and Netanyahu dislike each other and will disagree on policy, the coalition won’t last long. This could mean another election soon. And while Herzog failed, his Labor Party is better positioned than it has been since the late 1990s.

Liberal friends of Israel are not going to abandon their commitment to the survival of a democratic Jewish state because of one extremely troubling election campaign. Yet neither will they give up on the idea that recognizing the right of Palestinians to their own state — a view advanced by George W. Bush no less than by Barack Obama — is in the interest both of justice and, over the long run, of Israel itself.

Netanyahu has played fast and loose not only with those loyalties but also with the moral commitments of a large share of his own people. He will not easily live down the way he chose to win.

169 Responses to The High Cost Of Bibi’s Comeback

  1. I guess Israel doesn’t want peace if they elect a war monger like Bibi. The US should cut support now. Stop giving them money to attack their neighbors. Let the UN rule on them and their actions.

  2. So…Bibi Mileikowsky has been lying all these years about a two-state
solution in Palestine. And all we’ve heard over the years is that the
Palestinians are the stumbling-block to the so-called peace negotiations.

And what’s THIS? Iran is fighting ISIS on the ground, while Bibi’s Israel
is providing medical aid to ISIS-affiliated troops in Syria? What ELSE
are the Israelis supplying to ISIS and affiliates? Arms? Training?
What will the Israelis be providing NEXT? Transportation for ISIS
    troops to the United States?

And the US Congress welcomed Israel’s Reichsfuehrer with open arms? And Senator Cottonmouth and the other 46 Congressional Ronin did their best to torpedo the President’s initiative for a nuclear agreement with Iran?

So…who EXACTLY…is the ENEMY here? Iran, who hasn’t started a war since G-d
knows when? Or Uncle Sam’s pet rattlesnake, ISRAEL?

    • That’s quite a leap from providing humanitarian medical aid to supplying arms. If you need help identifying the enemy, try Googling “Death to America”.

      • Why isn’t Israel joining in the fight against ISIS, Netanyahu and Israel, say they are our staunchest ally. With friends like that who needs enemies.

        • They seem protecting their own home land from suicide bombers. Why are Christians and Catholics still being beheaded while concessions are being negotiated for the same ones that helped to kill so many Americans in Iraq?

          • it is not jus Christians and Catholics being beheaded. So because they think only about Isreal they can forsake the “U.S. taxpayers who gave Israel billions in cash, squadrons of fighter aircraft, vast weapons with mountains of munitions, generous research and development funds to build Iron Dome missile
systems and heaps of other freebies?’ It is time to allow the UN to address the war crimes resolutions against Israel and decide if the Palestinian’s should be allowed to gain statehood without any interferrence from the U.S., we need to protect ourselves and work on our issues at home.

          • Israel has they right to defend themselves against those that want to destroy them. The US dollars to help them achieve that is spent on US defense business, providing American jobs. If Palestine expects to achieve state hood they ought to consider not terrorizing the neighborhood.

          • Christians and Catholics?? And all my life I have been led to believe that all my Catholic friends and relatives were Christians.

Hmm. If Catholics are not Christians then what are they?

          • I know what the subject is. I was commenting on your dumb butted differentiation of Catholic and Christian. They are of the same genre.
The problem is that. We are not dealing with Nations and Principalities we are dealing with a multitude of Tribes and three major religions. All of the Islamic states are composed, not of unified National Iraqis, Syrians, Jordanians, Kuwaitis Egyptian, Saudi etc. They are composed of individual Tribes imbued in their own particular interpretation of their Religion.

Israel is composed of Tribes with their own interpretation of their Religion.
Christians also are divided into a semblance of tribes – Catholic, Protestant, and a multitude of individual sects each with their interpretation of Religion.

We are not in a time of War in the military sense. We are being involved in a Holy War between Islam and, Judaism. . The end result is not the defeat of Nation States it is about the absolute defeat of Religion that differs from that of the other party and the death of all followers of that religion.

The irony is that “ISMS” are traceable to the same origin.

An ancient Tribe among multitudes of tribes proclaimed a divine recognition from their deity that he was the only true God and that they, over all other people in the world were his chosen people. Following this ISM many hundreds of years later, they threw off their bondage and left Egypt proclaiming the promise that their God was taking them to the Promised land. It is interesting to note in the Torah how many countries were destroyed and how many people died before the found a place and declared it theirs forever as Gods Chosen people.

About 2000 years ago a person named Jeshua brought forth a new Gospel that was an affront to the ideals of Judaism.. The Pharasees and Saducees were unsuccessful in quelling this new religion so it fell to the Zealots and the Sicarri. As Jeshua and his followers traveled to Jerusalem for an event an accusation was made that this Jeshua was going to declare himself King. After scourging and torture and with no good evidence to take further action locally the Sanhedrin turned him over to the Romans as a rebel. The Romans crucified him as a criminal. His followers proclaimed Jeshua as the Messiah, the Son of God that was to come and referred to him a Jesus the Christ Child of the most high God. Thus began the Religion of Christianity.

About 1400 years later there arose a person , Mohammed, that disclaimed the Jewish religion. He proclaimed one God, Allah. Like the Jews he traced their lineage from Abraham not through the son Isaac as was the teaching of the Jews but through the first born child of Abraham, Ishmael, born of a union with a hand-maid when he thought his wife Sara incapable of child bearing.. This was to fulfill the ancient prophesy that The blessings would come through the first born child of Abraham.

Thus, Islam proclaims lineage through Ishmael while Judaism proclaims lineage through Isaac

All three from the same origin.
Something very interesting to note: the earth given name of this God.
            In Arabic it is Allah
In Hebrew it is Eloa or Elohim
In some references YHWH or the GREAT I AM

When Jeshua was on the cross he cried out
            Eloa Eloa Lama Sa Bachthani

“My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?

The rest of humanity not involved in this “inter family” mess are referred to as Gentiles. And we are the ones being embroiled in this religion based conflict.

When are we Gentiles going to awaken from our lethargy and unite against these radical adherents to a relioion?

Let us increase our Security and protect our Countries. If these religious fanatics began attacks in our borders then we must destroy them totally throughout the world.

Presently, we have detractors leaving to fight with ISSIS against us and we have Terrorists killing people in the name of their deity. We treat them gently and at most put them in prison when what we should do is show no mercy and put them to death as traitors.

If we don’t get our heads out of our butts we are going to find all free Countries in the world subjugated and under the rule of some form of Fanatic ideology posing as Religion.

            Wake up Gentiles.

          • Sorry, but when you open a rambling rant with condescending tone (‘dumb-butted’) the rest of the speech just becomes white noise.

          • I read several of your terse posts then i looked at your logo (mushroom cloud) then clicked on to your site. Normal sites list comments, replies etc. open to whomever wishes to peruse. But -your site? Your site is locked up like Ft Knox. You’re not the average blogger. you are reclusive like a viper hiding under a rock.??? Weird.

          • Not weird at all. I initially made my profile private because of one (used-to-be) regular poster at the NM and MJ. He would dig back for thousands of posts to use anything he could against me. He stalked me, making threats of violence toward me and my family.

When he left these blogs a few months ago, I cautiously made my profile public again. That lasted 2 days until a couple of bloggers here found it appropriate to attack me personally with things I said, out of context, or because I am critical toward things they embrace tightly and can’t stand to hear anything outside the narratives they want to believe without making things personal and insulting.

I’d like have an open profile, but the harassment by some of the more personally aggressive ones here have forced me to keep the profile private. However, since you have awakened my personal desire for transparency, I have reopened the profile to the public again, on a trial basis, through the end of the month. When I get bored with explaining myself or defending against pettiness, I’ll make it private again.

Help yourself, oldtack. I like discussing with you; you don’t react with personal insult, usually.

          • That explains a lot Angelsinca. Thanks for the explanation. I’ll be out of pocket for a while but maybe i’ll run into you again on the forum. Until then – take car.

      • Remember the Marines in Lebanon? The Israelis didn’t warn us about the bomb.

Remember the USS Liberty and the US sailors murdered by the Israelis?

Remember 9-11? The Israelis didn’t warn us about the (mostly) Saudis who perpetrated the crime.

Remember Arrow Air Flight 1285, up there at Gander? That was the
Israelis, teaching the US Army a lesson, for not kowtowing to the IDF
        in the Sinai.

  3. Obama is lame duck history. Hillary is now dead in the water. GOP wins WH 2016 and the US steps back from the radical pro islam worldview. Congrats to BiBi Netanyahu as Obama was not man enough to do the same.

    • Hey Dixie….Wrong…People up north are not planning to be the sole support of MD, GA, NC, SC or the rest of Dixieland. Hillary is the worst GOP nightmare and you and they know it. If you think for one minute that people who bust butt paying your Big military, prison and Oil industry subsidies are going to put another drawling, swaggering Dixie Mutton Chops in the White House, think again.

Put Cruz, Rubio, Jindal, Ryan, Issa, Walker, Christie, Cotton or JEB vs. Hillary and all you have are penises and testicles that no one respects or would dare allow in the White House. Grow up, get a life and work your butt off.

MD is a state that once had a growing economy. Now? Take a good long look at the sewer hole Baltimore has become thanks to you Dixieland CONS.

      • Hillary is a sleazy politician, Eleanor. Your support for her reveals that you and your fellow libbers would vote for any skank that vied for the presidency.

    • What do you think I as an American taxpayer, or the U.S. owes Israel anyway? That we aren’t already paying? More military, and economic support? How about the loss of our credibility as a Nation that stands for human Rights. To support a racist regime in Israel, that insists on walling off, and using modern military weapons on a undefended civilian population. Then, prevents even medical care from reaching them. And this President you so malign, stands by all that, for Israel. And argues on Israel’s behalf, to an appalled World, Israel’s right to defense. And then goes to Congress for more millions to install an added layer of protection for Israel, which he sees installed. And his calls for even the slightest bit of restrain from the heartless Netanyahu, is met with such ignorant, and equally heartless comments as yours. Go suck an egg lady!

      • “and using modern military weapons on a undefended civilian population”

To even the playing field, maybe the Israeli arsenal should be limited to the same used by the ‘civilians’, such as rocket launchers, bomb vests and throat-slitting devices.

    • Why is she dead in the water? The e-mails, those that would not vote for her were impacted by that revelation, those that would vote for her probably don’t care and it is going to be her intended policies and those policies of the GOP, sorry they only have one policy:
Hi Ho Hi Ho , Its Off To War We Go!!
We did bomb bomb bomb bomb
All over the world the whole day through
To kill kill kill kill kill kill
Its what we like to do
      It aint no trick
      To get rich quick
If ya just bomb bomb bomb in all the wars you start.

    • Did you notice that Hillary’s poll numbers went up after the email BS?

Clintons numbers, right now, crushes every other potential candidate.

  4. Israel has a democracy here and the people have decided. Netanyahu had said since 2009 he was for a 2 state solution and on the eve of his election announces it will not happen under his watch. He has been given lip service to the U.S. for years it is time for Israel to face the consequence on the International Stage. We can no longer defend his apartheid mentality. in addition an article titled “While the prime minister remains silent, other arms of the state are busy implementing a racist agenda that threatens the lives of people who came here fleeing persecution.” http://www.haaretz.com/opinion/netanyahu-s-racism-against-african-migrants-by-proxy.premium-1.508194

    • Obama and Holder are the most racist in history . But thankfully they will be out of office some. Back to their racist, ethnic centric church in Chicago.

      • Suffering from Obama Derangement Syndrom I see. This article is not about Obama and Holder. Come out of your Faux News bubble for a moment – there is going to be a black woman Attorney General and one day there is going to be a Latino as President and very possible another black President – OMG was that your head exploding.

          • Rubio is an unknown up north and his reputation among his own Floridians is dismal. You’d know that if you left DogPatch once in a while. Don’t you people in Maryland ever stop with the antebellum Pre-Civil BS? It’s enough already that you want to return to your pathetic plantation mentalities.

Your state is in dire straights as a result of men like you who can’t get the hell out of bed before noon and then blame minorities in your state for ALL the problems you lazy white boys in MD create in the first place.

It’s my understanding that women and minorities in MD get a raw deal from MD employers who stuff their pockets with profits earned by their employees. It’s also my understanding that in MD, you love all that cheap minority labor to do your dirty work but then you bitch bitch bitch when these workers can’t afford decent housing or educations for their kids thanks to piss poor salaries you white boys pay them.

      • Obama and Holder racists?…surely you jest. As for the Rev Wright. He didn’t say anything racist and he didn’t say anything about whites. His rants were about the USA policies as like the Dr Martin Luther King speeches were about USA policies. I hate to generalize, but you sound like a white person who listens to a lot of FOX ‘NEWS’. I suggest you go to the actually speeches of both men and listen to what was really said and not the snippets that were pulled from the speeches. If you look at the policies of our country you will find what they said was spot on. However, in less than two years, Obama and Holder will be out of your hair and will be irrelevant. I almost hope that you get your wish of a complete GOP Congress and Presidency. I also hope you are better off than most Americans and have a pretty good nest egg in your survival arsenal. You seemingly think this fight with Obama is about race. In some ways it is, but it’s mostly about economics. The GOP wants to keep the middle class and the poor, regardless of race in ‘their place’. That means taking away any healthcare if you get sick, sticking with a minimum wage that prevents you from saving and getting ahead and taking away any govt help if you are down on your luck. They have the backings of various millionaires who do provide jobs, but not the kind that would be needed to actually help you do more than eat beans and rice with the possible luxury of mac and cheese of a good day. You think that as a white you’d be saved. Like I said, I hope you have a good nest egg. If not, you’ll be ‘fu..ed’ like the rest of us. Wake up

  5. I’m wondering which of the GOP power drunks plan to rat out McConnell once they are double crossed and don’t make it to the Power Drunk Line Up for the GOP presidential candidates’ race. This is going to get really down and dirty. But…with power drunks like these GOP boys, what else? Their libation du jour is called the “Koch.” Two shots of hate, four shots of bigotry, two shots of sneaky, high handed arrogance and the GOP power drunks stagger into Congress with all of the boozed up adrenalin of any common alcoholic.

    • Ace, we can’t afford the NE welfare, crime, fatherless children and the like. Bring on Warren the redskin dream girl. Or better , the rev Al sharpton. Game over.

      • Shows what dipshits all DixieCons are. Check the US.gov site …Mutton Chops…the TOP 10 Welfare states in the US are all in your southern region with the exception of Maine which is actually a “purple” state.

As to your bigoted comment, you have more blacks living in Baltimore than whites. Is that because you rebels can’t stand the idea that your white skin is as equal as black skin?

Try again Rebel…no one gives a fat rat’s patoot if MD sinks into the ocean. But, don’t expect help when your state gets drowned in the OIL you plan to allow offshore.

A smartass like you has no brains. MS is No. 1 in welfare, followed by AL, (a state that tosses its unemployed onto welfare and phony SSDI), KY, TN, MO, TX, NC, SC, FL and ME are the top 10.

You want to admit that you lazy butts in red states live off our blue states? Your states gets more than the $1 it pays in federal taxes. Mine gets a lousy 62 cents and every blue state in the NE gets an average of 65 cents…that means…Rebel Stars and Bars, that MD lives off MY state. Do the math if MD schools actually teach it.

          • It’s a well known fact that some males in the south and midwest blame minorities for the blight they create. The reality is far different. These white power drunks pay minorities such low wages they can’t afford to live any better than a homeless person. So who really is at fault for the blight in MD if not employers ripping off their employees, who are mostly women and minorities? Male White Supremacy….it went out with the Civil War.

        • Eleanor:

Are you aware that the Maryland state song contains the words that assert Maryland “….will not bow down to the Northern scum.”?

I wrote some years ago to the governor of Maryland to protest that verbiage. I received a letter back from some female assistant informing me “Well, that’s Maryland.”

      • You give Al Sharpton and the likes ‘WAY’ to much credit. Sharpton expresses his opinions for the people he represents, but in actuality, he possesses no real political weight other than encouraging his base to go out and vote and march in seemingly non-violent marches. If that bothers you, then you should be alarmed by the supporters of that Ted Bundy dude. They actually had guns, and a couple then went on a rampage in Nevada. Not saying Bundy had anything to do with that rampage, but they were his followers/supporters, seeminly.

  6. I’m wondering which of the GOP power drunks plan to rat out McConnell once they are double crossed and don’t make it to the Power Drunk Line Up for the GOP presidential candidates’ race. 11. A case of a morally rotted politician, appealing to his equally morally purifying base, winning and setting the stage for what should be, what will hopefully become, a come a watershed moment for the American public over Israel. Namely concerning our unconditional, and at times, irrational support of what is in actuality, not a true democracy. But a Jewish Apartheid democracy. That sadly, with the re-election of Bibi Netanyahu based on his willingness to cast aside decades of diplomatic work on a peaceful two State Solution with Palestinians. Has revealed the Israeli State’s true intentions to eventually annex the entirety of Palestine. Which was never the deal. Was never the intent of the UN resolution that created Israel in the beginning. And the reaction, and anger, of the entire Arab World will be reignited on this position. A position they’ve claimed for years was the true intention of Israel all along. And will be sickeningly predictable. As will the further radicalization of the Mid-East be inevitable, should our reaction to this throwing out all pretense to peace, be one of our usual, slavish devotion to all things Israel.

    • I really don’t care what happens in israel. I agree with the French ambassador’s reaction to some statement about the West’s coming to the aid of Israel in the event of a major attack. He said: “What, you’re going to start World War III over a shitty little country like Israel?”

      • The French Ambassador’s statement reflects the growing resentment
of the Jewish State throughout Europe. For which many Europeans
see Israel’s brutish treatment of the Palestinians, and it’s continued
building of settlements on land that would necessarily have to be a part of any two state agreement. As belying it’s unwillingness to bargain with the Palestinians in good faith. Being at the core of much of the hatred and terrorism being directed against he West. They also see the Zionist lobby’s enormous power within the U.S. Congress as one of the reasons for the Iraq War. And also, as the reason that even as we give Israel billions annually, more than any other Country by far. We seem to have absolutely no ability to influence it’s behavior in anyway at all.
And the re-election of the hard right, Likud Party, will do nothing to change Europe’s deteriorating opinions. Nor the growing course of Americans, who are wondering if our continued unquestioned support, is a course we should be pursuing. My opinion is no.

  12. Look, the problem with some men in the world today is that they feast at the table of power they hope helps them control everyone else. As we all know, they are setting themselves up for massive failure. They do this to prove their prowess. They fail because they forget they are not the entire government.

Israel is going to look like exactly what it has been trying to hide: an aggressor nation hell bent on taking more land from its neighbors no matter how Bibi has to effect that.

Prediction: The GOP will end up with censorship for allowing that McConnell inspired Cotton Iran Letter to go forward. The GOP power drunks can’t keep their dirty noses clean for more than a few days at a time. So, when “it” hits the fan, any deals the GOP made with Bibi while he was acting 51 state of Israel Senator for the GOP, the GOP will have singlehandedly put a noose around their own necks. But hey! What is so different about that? They’ve been at it since Warren Harding was president.

    • Cotton nailed Obama and his Islamic love affair to the wall. The so called Palestinians will continue to live in poverty and death. With Egypt and Israel continuing to squeeze this terrorist bred people to their knees there is really not much Obama and his partners in Iran can do. Regime change is coming soon in Iran.

      • Cotton nailed himself to his own cross. Now for his crucifixion. No, the so called Palestinians won’t. Egypt isn’t an ally of Israel. Where on earth do you dippy rebels get these ideas. Just last week, Egypt was incensed that Israel expects Egypt to provide Gaza with access Israel refuses to give. Obama will be successful and you will still chew on your hatred Mr. Bigot Boy. I loathe people like you and would be the first to spit in your eyes should you have the balls to come north.

        • Eleanore:

You’ve done it again. To what has Cotton nailed himself: the wall or his own cross?

Please be specific and drop the hyperbole.

      • Cotton nailed the other 46 senators that were too stupid to read the letter and then go ahead and sign it.

What the hell happened to McCain? I can remember when he was more than just a t bagger lackey

        • It seems that Mccain was always somebody’s lackey. Remamber when, as a member of the “Keating Five” he pressured FSLIC to not investigate the abuses of old retirees who bought Keating’s S & L’s crappy bonds?

McCain should have been indicted with Keating. The fact that Keating’s conviction was overturned is a travesty of justice.

        • Cotton nailed himself to the wall…You just can’t admit it because you are a power drunk…when you sober up to the fact that your posts are not remotely unbiased enough to be valid or certifiable, do let us know.

          • Eleanore:

I don’t know to which of my posts you’re referring, but you’ve obviously screwed it up again.

          • You can kept trying to paint my paint with your BS mister power drunk…If you can’t read, you obviously prove you are inept and as such don’t qualify for validity. The post to which I responded DUH is just above YOURS…nice try though at playing Mr. MAN.Again…when you do manage to grow some balls, perhaps you won’t need to always be so femininely bitchy?

          • Dear stupid:

My comment starts “I don’t know….” and yours reads “Cotton nailed himself….” and you see continuity in that? I think that you’ve been smoking funny cigarrettes and/or hitting the sauce.

Face it, Eleanor, you’re a jerk.

          • Hey asshat…You can’t handle the truth…You still wear Pampers? Cotton got his assend in trouble and you know it. You power drunks need to get to a GOP AA meeting. Not a single one of you HAVEs can put your pants on without help.

Cotton inveigled 47 Senators on their way out the door of a Congressional meeting (their words asshat, not mine) to sign that Iran letter. One day letter, the GOP got its butts reamed out by Kerry for interfering in foreign policy.

Do you little pissyourpants boys ever get it? You go after every Dem president thinking it matters to those of us who are so fed up with your BS ranting, rabble rousing and biased posting on links that you can’t prove in any court of law around the globe much less the US.

Now…do you want to STFU or do you need my size 6 shoe up your butt to get your brain back on track?

Cotton is a pisshispants like you are.

          • You wear a size six shoe? Come on! I’ll bet that you wear a size ten at least. You aggressive women typically have big feet, so that they fit snugly into your big mouths.

          • So …proving you are a real dipshit again are you? I’m 4’10” tall and weigh 128 lbs with clothes on….I wear a size 6 shoe and a size 10 dress. You know any woman under 5’9 who wears a size 10? Although, I do admit nothing would please me more than shutting your fat face with a size ten shoe up your dumb butt. The best my size 6 will do is shake your hideously malformed brain back in place. A size 10 would do you a world of good. More’s the pity I was born vertically challenged.

          • Usually, it’s only short men who are overly aggressive and a threat to normal-to-tall men. Short men tend to be sneaky little bastards. You’re the exception to the rule.

          • What an absolute jerk you are. I’m not a male…I’m a female and proud of it. As for you tall men being such elitist royals…not even your balls are large enough to do what’s right.

Was Madoff short? How about Kenny Boy Lay? Tom DeLay? Jeff Skilling? Rennert? Dimon? The only short little piggy of fortune from corruption is Blankfein. Then, there are the other piggies who lie, cheat and engage in all manner of sneaky underhanded skank…that would be Zuckerberg, Adelson, Murdoch and the Krotch Twins.

Try again hot shot…You can’t post a single unbiased comment provable in a court of law.

          • You have the gall to accuse others of being biased, yet your postings are little more than foul-mouthed anti-male diatribes.

From the first time that I received a comment from you, your tactic has been to spout invective at men. You have no facts to support your arguments. You’re a man-hating woman who has apparently been subject to a great deal of abuse by people in your past.

Did you have a failed marriage? Perhaps any love affairs you had with men ended in disaster. You seem to feel that life has been unkind to you. Perhaps it’s because of your miserable personality. Look inward, Eleanor.

          • This from a man who can’t tell the difference between facts I prove with every post and the lies and distortions of bias YOU post? My personal life is NOT open for your pathetic neurotic need to judge. How about WE judge you?

A CPA? Who sits all day every with nothing more to do than bitch, complain and rail against anyone who isn’t one of his deceptive corporate liar boy clients? How many Madoffers have you sucked up to to make all that moolah? Or worse, how many sneaky underhanded accounting games did you play to hide the wealth of your clients? Answer asshat or shut your fat pie hole.

          • Rail away, bitch. All you do is confirm my accusation that you’re a miserable old woman who’s mad at the world for you’re having been born a woman.

  20. How sad that in order to win, one seemingly always appeals to the ‘lesser angels’ in our beings. Even sadder is the fact that in appealing to those lesser angels, the move is called brilliant by some. Ok, BiBi has gotten his win. Sadly this might be his prize.

  21. How sad that in order to win, one seemingly always appeals to the ‘lesser angels’ in our beings. Even sadder is the fact that in appealing to those lesser angels, the move is called brilliant by some. Ok, BiBi has gotten his win. Sadly this might be his prize.

  22. Bibis victory guarantees endless conflict and in the near-term America’s involvement in the mess Israel has created. As long as Netanyahu is in power death and war will be the order of the day. You get what you vote for.

  23. I never understood how the Jewish people, who have a history of oppression throughout the ages, can display such little concern for the Palestinians.

The state of israel is as old as i am-born in 1948- when this land was carved out for them by the UN, from the site of ancient Israel. The people previously living there were pushed aside. Why has this gone on so long? The fact that Bibi says there will be no Palestinian state under his watch and that he will continue to build and expand shows some kind of entitlement mentality., He says Hamas is the problem. Well, if there is oppression, poverty, hopelessness and seemingly no way out, peoples throughout history have aligned themselves with thugs if they think violence and force will give them a way out, or at least protection. Just for the little bit that i know, it seems that Israel gives them no break at all. Mr. Netanyahu is not interested in peace. I can see why Obama is frustrated with him.

    • When you refer to “the Jewish people,” you make the same mistake that is made in referring to “Black people” or “White people.” All Jews don’t lack concern for Palestinians. There are Jewish organizations that align with Palestinians and work for peace. A very substantial group of Israelis voted against Likud. Many American Jews deplore the outcome of the Israeli elections. To refer to any group as if they shared one point of view borders on prejudice and when it comes to Jews, it’s laughable.

      • Perhaps i was “inartful” in stating this opinion. I don’t know the explanation for 66 years of chaos. Why can’t the groups you speak of gain the upper hand here?

        • You need to understand that the trauma of the holocaust left Jews in the diaspora feeling incredibly vulnerable. After WW II Israel seemed like the only hope and defense. The struggle of this small democratic socialist state to survive against all odds was a powerful narrative. However, that story seems to be over and many American Jews are alienated from today’s Israel, especially younger and progressive ones. Look into “J” street for example. I think Netanyahu’s rejectionist campaign will strengthen those voices and the impression of a monolithic pro-Israel Jewish block will fade. Actually, the major American support for Israel these days is coming from right-wing conservatives, especially evangelicals. For them Israel is part of an “end-days” prophecy that ultimately offers Jews the old European alternatives – convert or die.

          • You’re right. Since at least the early 70s there has been this narrative within the Evangelical Christians that I, no Biblical scholar, don’t quite understand. Except to say, it has something or the other to do with Jews being, “God’s chosen people.” And being sure to be definitely on their side in the last great battle of Armageddon. Just the thing we ought to be basing all of our foreign policy on. Revelations!

          • And the danger of this, though I have deeply respected and admired the teachings of the Jewish religion, such as I know of it in US, re social justice, environmental care, mitzvas, family, wisdom, justice, education, is when any religion is fanatical and extreme…and all can allow that to happen and attribute it to holy book interpretations or ancient history…..it becomes dangerous. As the President reminded us, Christians did a lot of harm and often feed injustice today when they are extreme; Islam’s extremists I need not remind anyone since we experience it everywhere; and I suppose Judaism is capable of the same.

I admit, in my somewhat “blind”, or “positive prejudice” of all things Jewish, I assumed all Jews to be intelligent, well educated, and more able to mitigate instincts others had, precisely because of their history of so much struggle and horror, simply to be able to survive. Maybe it was unfair, but, I have always expected more from Jewish people because, frankly, they seemed to have “more” re values and wisdom, and they had their own repercussions for those who did disgraced them when that happened.

All of which explains why I mourn, if you will, what is happening in Israel today by Israelis, victimizing themselves, this time, led by a man who does not resemble one iota the men who have gone before him. He has “cheapened” the legacy, the history of his people. And, in 9 years, with his right wing ideology and pugilistic personality, he has created an entire generation of Israelis just like him and, rather than educating his society or helping them to reach higher, he preys on ignorance, fear, and want.

I have also learned more about right wing ideology in my own country. I could never embrace, but, I am confounded by it. Now I understand our own right wing’s strategies of keeping people in ignorance, fear, and want; of religious fanaticism and intolerance of other religions other than their own; of “purity tests” to determine worthiness; of quest for power for the sake of power to impose instead of govern; of the use of good values distorted in bad ways to achieve ambition; and how expedient it is to lie, cheat, and engage in character assassination and to assign their own nefarious actions onto others. More importantly, to put even the life and well being, the security of their own country, at risk to gain, retain, the power to wield power, not govern. This PM has had power for 9 years, but he has not governed, just as in the US.

I don’t know which came first, the chicken or the egg. And I don’t know what came first, a right wing extremist Israeli PM exploiting the right wing in America or the right wing in America exploiting the Israeli PM. But neither Israel nor the US is better off for it, and, because of it, Israel and America will never be the same, not alone, not together.

          • Well said. In fact much better than I could have. Because it is clearly a subject very close to your heart. I only know this. That it is easier to hate those who are different, than to love them. That there are haters, and radicals on both sides. And the radicals on either side, tends to somewhat radicalize the sum of the other. That it’s always harder for us humans to turn the other cheek, and seek peace through dialog, and understanding. Than it is to follow our baser inclinations of revenge, and retribution. So, may God bless the peacemakers. They call upon those aspirations we all have, to be better than our natural selves.

          • Thank you so much for this. It is something I will remind myself of, repeatedly, and strive to be better at peacemaking where I have that “power”, everyday life with everyday interactions, no matter who, what, where. Peace.

          • You’re welcome, of course. Great comments from you on this
very complicated subject! Thanks & Peace to you as well.

          • …and how expedient it is to lie, cheat, and engage in character assassination and to assign their own nefarious actions onto others.“,

I enjoyed what you had to say except this characterization you make of the ‘right wing’. These are the same distasteful traits displayed throughout this discussion by the progressives that hate a conservative Israel and especially Netanyahu.

          • So, I stand corrected and will amend here to read that ANY extreme of ANY religion, ideology, or characterization of others is not usually credible or just or unique; every person, every organization, every philosophy or any rigidly held belief or perception, is never good.

A lesson in how I might contribute to “peace”.

            Thank you.

          • Maybe it was naive, or unfair, but precisely because of the trauma of the holocaust, I assumed, expected, that Jewish people would be more, know more, be better, wiser, more just, than any others. Because of what they accomplished in that tiny strip of land, and because of their strong religion that teaches wisdom, tolerance, justice, and community, I just expected more, that they could teach others, not just how to build a land and a society into a verdant and progressive place, but, how to treat people.

I probably am naive, idealistic, and wondering where we would all be today, if, at some time in Israel’s life over these 60 years, she had shared what she knew how to do with the people next door subsisting with nothing because of their own poor leaders, about how to build, farm, thrive, something other than mutual enmity would have evolved. And I believe it to be Israel’s initiative, because, as I said before, she was better, wiser, “bigger”, in all ways, to be the one to do that, and she would have had the full support of not only US, but others.

That is naive and impractical, because lacking in that equation, is the political component of leaders who have failed the Palestinians in the past. But, I wonder if the same thing is happening, now, in Israel, leaders who are failing Israel.

  24. I do not apologize for my many, many years of strong support and defense of Israel and her people, when she was at risk, being victimized, and building her nation state. I have always believed, however, that when land was ceded to Israel after WW II, land should also have been ceded to the people who were displaced, both with specific and defined boundaries. The fact that did not happen, helped create the unending war over land and rights of ownership, and the refusal to recognize anyone’s right to exist there.

Today, after 9 years of this right wing government in Israel, that is now extremist right wing with no moderate input in the coalition being assembled, I cannot continue my support and defense of Israel. I have been reading Israeli news sites and learned a great deal about an Israel that does not comport with my perceptions of her as a progressive, democratic, semi-socialist, educated, intelligent, and reasonable country whose interest was only to be able to peacefully co-exist with her neighbors.

I learn, after 60 years, there is still no Constitution and the proposals are for a Constitution that is based on rights granted by Torah and ultra orthodox Judaism. I learn that the voice of the people in the electoral system only goes so far. Their “representatives” in government are handpicked by the presumptive PM victor in whatever backroom deals, cronyism, and pay-backs are owed, as well as to insure the imposition of government that is not representative of all of the people, but, rather, a political agenda with no debate. It’s no wonder, the right wings are exulting that they now have the power to “control everything”, including, they say, their Supreme Court and the Justice system, writing their own laws and rules, enforcing as they see fit, which was already going on before, to a degree. The use of “the Arabs are voting…” as a threat instead of a celebration of inclusive government, is anathema to one who has been devoted to voting rights and equality all my life, living in a true representative democracy. So, in the claim that Israel is the only democracy in the ME as one of the basis for my support all these years, is now a presumption under false pretenses.

As is the presumption of Israel as “victim”. Israel is no longer a “victim”. She has thrived and is more than able to defend herself, even to become the predator that she is today, with her own arsenal of nuclear capability, and her growing fanatical, rabid, display of hot-heads, as an occupying force, as land-grabbers, and, with their stated mission of forcing a people who never really were a people who lived in that land before, ie Palestinians, completely out and into Jordan or anywhere but here, all in the name of “Israel’s security needs”. The PM has finally gone public to confirm what everyone had begun to suspect, and what negotiators have known, that he has no intention of any peace process or creation of a Palestinian state. He makes every international tragedy all about Israel, and himself, as the savior of Israel, and he has made a lot of people sick and fed up with Israel even before we learn that Israel today is not the Israel of yesterday, and will only get worse.

She already resembles just another ME country with intent to become a theocratic government, a dictator similar in personality and intent as Putin, who believes he can depend forever on the good graces of the only country who has indulged him as a parent indulges an unruly child because, as unattractive as is the behavior, he is the parent’s child, after all, and now erroneously believes that America, in the face of her own ultra right wing extremists who have captured the Majority in Congress, holds the power to enable the roles to be reversed: Israel is no longer a colony of the US; the US has become a colony of Israel. He has perverted the historical alliance between our two countries that were based on certain principles of democracy, non-partisanship, peaceful co-existence, into a politically partisan alliance with an ideology that is akin to his own and his political party.

That perverted notion assumes that all of America will endorse and support and defend whatever his ideology stands for. That will be difficult even for American Republicans, other than the fanatical right wing extremists, to swallow. I do not believe it will ever be in America’s best interests to support, defend, protect any country that engages in land grabs, occupation, civil rights based on religious law, civil law based on religious law, and the continued war with the entire neighborhood in the face of a common enemy that is worse than any of the enemies in the neighborhood. These address the principles on which the past alliance has been based, ie, foreign relations, that have nothing to do with emotions of “love”, “hate”, “anti-semitism”.

As to the dynamics and logistics of a “relationship”, we look at interpersonal skills of communication, resolution of disagreements, politics, public displays of civility and respect, and everything in actions that maintain, nurture, or create trust.. No matter if a President or a PM have “liked” each other in the past, it was always a relationship of dignity. This President and this PM may not “like” each other for reasons of their own, but only one of them has made a public display and debacle of it, the Israeli PM from the very beginning of this President’s tenure. For reasons of politics, only. The President has done for Israel what every other President has done for her, more because of the needs of the times. The PM campaigned for his own re-election, using the most vile accusations directed at this President, as if he were a member of the Republican opposition party in the US, with the same allegations, feeding the antipathy of the small percentage of Americans who do not support him to the entire Israeli electorate who elected him, as if, this President is an enemy of Israel. That is an insult to the American majority who elected this President, twice, and it is based on the same lies and slanderous insults as what we endure at home, financed by the same benefactors who finance the right wing Republicans.

Any US President who refused to engage with other countries in the effort to address nuclear capability proliferation/limitation of any country who has not been a part of the family of nations and has been isolated to do as they please, with or without sanctions, would negligent and can be charged with abandonment of duty and responsibility. As Israel should know re Germany, a country that has been an “enemy” can often be a country who agrees to live in “peaceful co-existence”, if not as an ally, and bringing any country to international accountability is a positive goal. This is the 21st century, not 1938, and everyone has or wants nuclear capability, including Israel, or knows someone who already has them who would be more than willing to partner with a country who does not have them, to right a perceived wrong, take sides, and some are fanatic and isolated, and believe the mutual annihilation of human race to be a good thing. Opposition to this effort by Republicans and the Israeli PM, and now all of Israel, is disengenuous and strictly political, and when the argument against it consists of the manipulative narrative of Israel as a victim, because in 1938, she was a victim, is disgraceful. In 2015, nothing is ever “just about Israel”; not the murder of some Jews and many others in France; not the slaughter and present day genocide all over the ME and Africa, Somalia, and elsewhere; not the threats and tragedies in Australia, Ukraine, London, US, or the entire world.

The surest way to protect Israel, to insure her security, is for Israel to make some kind of peace with her neighbors in order to keep the real enemies out of the neighborhood. It is also not in the interests of Israel’s security, or the security of the international community, or of this country, to weaken the influence and capability of the US to influence, no matter who may sit in the White House, something American Republicans need to be reminded of.

In conclusion, finally….I, for one, do not feel I can morally, ethically, or practically defend, support, protect, today’s Israel as I have in the past. Israel no longer ascribes to the principles that formed the basis for the alliance that motivated me in the past. Her relationship of trust, respect, credibility, and dignified public discourse has been destroyed, in the same manner as has the GOP, for me. I do not see how America can remain protective and supportive of Israel in the community of nations when she violates every principle America stands for and expects from every other country, as well as our own. I also do not understand how we can continue to finance their military capability if Israel continues to use it as she has so recently. And the fanaticism and unreasonable antics of her government and PM lead me to conclude that it is just as dangerous for Israel to have nuclear capability as it is to think of Iran having it.

    • It’s obvious you know, and care a great deal about Israel. And you’re thoughts are a great example of just how much damage to U.S./ Israeli, relations PM. Netanyahu may well have caused. When Ambassador Susan Rice said, the PM actions were ‘tearing at the fabric’ of the relationship, I thought, surely not. An unusual bit of hyperbole for the Obama Administration. Now, after what has transpired. After reading your comment. I think Ms. Rice may have understated the situation. I count this a very disappointing, very sad time. Well said, “nana.”

  25. Unfortunately Netanyahu was shortsighted. He was just looking only for winning without thinking what will come afterwards. That is not what wiser people do. Ok fine now he will be in power again, BUT how will he navigate his power? He must be rest assured he will get a very cold shoulder from UN that is definately and probably from Pres. Obama as he did look him down. It is human nature, Pres. Obama can take a revenge. Where will Netanyahu run to for help? I can’t wait to watch Netanyahu how he will stage himself on the world platform, where almost if not all is against of his behavior.

    • Good point. And where does his position against a two state solution leave the U.S.? It’s been at the heart of our efforts to bring an end to the hostilities there, going back, well, I’d need to check. But for a very long time! So we’re to say, to hell with the Palestinians now? It’s simply outrageous!

      • Anyone who can manage, must watch the interview between Netanyahu and Andrea Mitchell of MSNBC. It is on line at the moment. The man fooled the voters, he is backtracking everything he said to get elected. Who can trust this man anymore? He is the biggest Crook of all Crooks.

    • Nicely put. Israel has many friends around the world who want to see the Jewish population able to live their lives in peace, especially after the atrocities perpetrated upon them by the Nazis (and the Poles and Russians) during WWII. Considering the numbers exterminated, virtually an entire generation was erased. The US MAY resort to war with Iran, but NOT at the behest of Netanyahu OR his conservative government. As voters in the US saw during the primaries leading up to the 2012 election, politicians will say whatever is necessary to please the current crowd to whom they are speaking (ie.- Mitt Romney), but, when the crowd changes, so does the music. Netanyahu will have to scratch the fleas he will acquire due to the bed partners he has chosen.

    • To whom will Netanyahu run for help? He’ll run to the American Jewish community in general and AIPAC in particular.

  26. The voters of Israel have spoken. The world is stunned that Israel will now propose war with Iran. If that happens expect to see US troops involved. Republicans side with Netanyahu and US involvement is almost assured. If you or your kids or grandchildren are in the US Military—they may come home in a very altered state. Thanks a lot Israel.

    • We have to thank god there is a man with a cool head in the White House at the moment. He is not going to authorise any war with Iran. It will be his last resort after trying every possibilities to stop it and he fails. My worries are come 2017. Who will be the person sitting there? It will be a huge assignment to voters to ponder before casting their votes come 2016.

    • Israel will, once again, expect the US to come to its assistance should they attack Iran. And all indications from our Republican Congress show we will do just that. The anti-war movement should be in full swing well before American troops leave US soil.

      • There won’t be any anti-war movement here unless the government institutes a draft.

As long as we have a volunteer army, the bulk of the American population seems to feel that volunteers sign up for whatever happens and because they are not at risk, they do not care about the volunteers.

Several years ago dumbass John McCain started to mouth-off about starting a draft. He and a couple of other lamebrains shut up pretty fast. The Republican leadership probably reminded them about the effect of the Viet Nam war draft on the fortunes of the Democratic Party and Lyndon Johnson’s career.

  27. Israel has officially aligned itself with America’s huge moron population, which Fox News has brainwashed to vote Republican. Republicans are flunkies to the crooked super rich, so Israel has aligned itself with America’s worst enemies, the crooked rich and the Republican scumbags who shill for them. And the morons who keep them in business. Lots of luck, Israel. America’s morons and rich crooks wish you well.

    • There are three kinds of republicans.

      The very rich.

The ones that got elected with the help of the very rich.

And the suckers that think that they are affected to what happens to the very rich.

  28. We are sending Israel $3 billion?

And this guy comes here and puts down OUR president?

    Really?

The republicans will do anything to ruin Obama’s presidency. Even invite a foreign leader to PUT HIM DOWN with a speech in the US congress.

If you vote for any Republican you are a fool.

    • I got a link to a right wing Jerusalem Newspaper the other day. The article was
of course in favor of Netanyahu. And dwelt primarily with Israeli security, and Iran. But my real eye opener came when I read the comments. Most took the position that anything short of committing to full scale war with Iran. Using our military, our troops, and tax dollars, mind you. Amounted to anti-Semitism, and siding with ISSL. I got the impression the comments were mostly written by
Israelis in Israel, in support of the hard Right Netanyahu represents. I was insulted. And I do not consider myself anti-Israel. Not an anti-semite. But it really was, as was the entire Netanyahu invitation, and speech, beyond the pale!

      • Thanks for sharing that charleo1.

I will bet that newspaper was owned by Sheldon Adelson.

About five years ago, Sheldon Adelson, the American billionaire casino mogul, major backer of Republican candidates in last year’s U.S. election and 14th richest person in the world, began to completely upend the Israeli newspaper market.

Saying he wanted to bring a “fair and balanced” approach to Israel, in 2007 he launched Israel HaYom (Israel Today), a free daily tabloid that initially only published on weekdays. But soon it was publishing seven days a week and challenging every paper in the Israeli market for readership and ad dollars.

“FAIR AND BALANCED” ring a bell?

        • Yes, you know I wish I had kept the link. (Can’t find it today.) There is an unwritten rule one should refrain from saying WOW! But in reading these comments, that word kept coming back over, and over. Wow, are they talking about us dong the fighting? Paying the bills? Burying our dead, fixing the blown up bodies? Yes they were! WOW!

    • I will never vote for a traitorous Republican ever.
And I will remind all of the 47 Senators every chance I get that they ae traitors to their country.

  29. I wonder what value being an ally of Israel has to the United States? Does Israel provide top secret information about terrorists? If so I can see why we would support them but if they aren’t providing much of a return on our investment, why bother?

    • Well, the Zionist rat-pack HAS provided us with a lot of dead Americans:

Remember the Marines in Lebanon? The Israelis didn’t warn us about the bomb.

Remember the USS Liberty and the US sailors murdered by the Israelis?

Remember 9-11? The Israelis didn’t warn us about the (mostly) Saudis who perpetrated the crime.

Remember Arrow Air Flight 1285, up there at Gander? That was the
Israelis, teaching the US Army a lesson, for not kowtowing to the IDF
      in the Sinai.

      • Remember the USS Liberty and the US sailors murdered by the Israelis?

Yes, I remember the accident and the deep apologies for the friendly fire. Take your hateful twisted revisionist progressive version of history shove it.

  30. I sincerely wish that the people who talk about things they no nothing about, would
go to Israel and stay there while rockets are dropping in civilian areas, nonstop!
I also wish these same people could see how the Israel military drops leaflets, sends text messages, and radio broadcasts to the Palestinian Civilian population to leave areas where their enemies have stores of weapons that are used to fire on Israeli citizens, Jews and Arab alike.
I would also like these uninformed people to see how the terrorist factions, among the Palestinians, force civilians to stay in threatened areas, because they want high losses (martyrs) to influence uninformed people who know nothing about what is really taking place!

    • I think you would be surprised to find how well informed many Americans (Jewish and non) are regarding the Jewish state of Israel, especially why and how it came about. There are other news sources from the region who are not shills for EITHER the US OR Israel. That Netanyahu has refused to even consider UN resolutions regarding the “occupied territories” and the illegal settlements demonstrates that, in spite of the desire of the Jewish people for peace, their leader wants to have none of it.

    • The Israelis ask for it. They have screwed over the Arabs and the Palestinians for years. They take the land that is supposed to be for a Palestinian state, control all economic activity, water rights, tax revenue and freedom to move within the Palestinian territory. They are heavy handed and treacherous.
I have lost all respect for Israel and Netanyahu. He has proven to be an enemy of the United States and someone that has no respect for our President. The true colors of Israel have come out as has the 47 traitorous Republicans in the Senate.
      I will never Israel again.

  31. “Liberal friends of Israel are not going to abandon their commitment to the survival of a democratic Jewish state because of one extremely troubling election campaign.” Who says they aren’t? I suspect many are and I will be among them. Israel is no longer a Jewish state with which I can identify. It has become an anti-Democratic oppressor state that is an embarrassment to Jewish progressives.

      • As is all too frequent with your posts, you shoot from the lip. Israel is the ONLY true democracy in the region, even though their parliamentary system may not appear democratic to some.

        • Did you change your surname to hide the fact that you’re Jewish?

I don’t shoot from the lip, nor do I accept the propaganda that comes out of AIPAC. The United States got inself into trouble with the Muslims of the world because our crooked politicians took the Jewish money and sold out to the Zionists.

        • They are also no friends of the US. Screw them. If they treat their friends, and our President this bad you can imagine how they treat the Palestinians.

        • After the failure of the National socialist Party to eradicate the Jews A problem remained as to what to do with the displaced remnants of these people. The USA along with some European powers, taking suggestions from Jewish Zealots, settled upon a plan to send them to Palestine, the place that Jews referred to as the Holy Land promised to then by God as his Chosen People.
Much good dialogue was exchanged in 1946 and 1947 until finally it was agreed to allow the displaced Jews a small portion of Palestine. The rest is history. We needed a foothold in the Middle East and the New Nation Israel became that foot hold. Since inception we have supplied this Puppet State with armaments including nuclear weapons and we have given them Billions of Dollars . Now they elect to turn on us?

          • The migration of the Jews back to Palestine began in the 19th century under the Ottomans. The decision to encourage this was taken by the UK after World War One, not World War Two. The US had nothing to do with this, nor with the partition plan of 1947, which was co-sponsored by the UK (which wanted out, tired of being in the cross-fire of the escalating violence which the Arabs started in the 20’s, with “revisionist” Zionists, ancestral to Likud, starting reprisal attacks in the 30’s) and the USSR (which thought that socialist-minded Zionists would be allies of theirs; Israel was armed by the Soviet puppet state of Czechoslovakia while the US maintained an arms embargo until the JFK administration, which sold weapons to both sides in equal amounts).

The Palestinian narrative always starts out in the 40’s, as if they were just minding their own business until these Jews that they had never heard of before suddenly showed up; this is because their behavior in the decades before (particularly their alliance with Nazi Germany) is indefensible. The alliance of Israel with the US started with the 1968 F-4 fighter jet scale and solidified under Nixon; youngsters tend to assume it had always been that way, but it wasn’t. In particular, the Israeli acquisition of nuclear weapons was at a time when the US was still pro-Arab, or neutral at best.

          • Thank you Robert for a very good post. i knew this had been discussed as far back as WWI but I chose to discuss the aftermath of WWII. I feel that there should have been clear partition and the creation of two separate States at that time.
            Thanks for the history lesson.

          • “there should have been clear partition and the creation of two separate States at that time.” The Jews accepted, the Arabs rejected, vowing to exterminate all the Jews. They lost. The offer was renewed on condition of accepting the cease-fire. Israel accepted and was admitted to the UN; the “Government of All Palestine” based in Gaza rejected (continuing to launch cross-border raids), was never recognized by anyone except Egypt, and was finally suppressed by Egypt after their agents murdered the king of Jordan (for refusing to allow Mufti Husseini’s thugs any role in the West Bank).

          • Thank you Robert for a good lesson in History. i took the liberty of assessing your site and perusing some of your posts. Very good information.

    • I agree, Israel and Netanyahu are no friends of ours in showing massive disrespect for the President of the United States.
Netanyahu and Israel can fall into the ocean.

    • I wholeheartedly agree. They have ruled with an iron fist and seem to have no interest in peace unless it involves no compromise on their part.

  32. So Bibi Mileikowsky comes over here, and disrespects the US President. Lies like a rug in front of the US Congress, and they fall all over themselves to kuss Bibi in toches. He goes home, and to save his political career, reveals his true colors regarding the Palestinians, i.e. no two-state solution. That was sort of like a black snake shedding his skin, to reveal a rattlesnake. And when the White House says it’s time to reevaluate the alleged symbiotic relationship between Uncle Sammy and Chazzerei Yisroel, Bibi can’t suck up to the US hard enough! Stup es in toches, Bibikins. LOYAL Jewish Americans don’t want to hear it.

  33. He has stated that he does NOT adhere to a two-state solution before, and his actions as PM have shown that, including the continued occupation of illegally held territories AND continued building of “settlements” in these occupied territories. I have ALWAYS felt an obligation to support Israel because it is the lone wolf in the midst of sworn enemies, and I rejoiced with much of the rest of the world when Egypt took a huge chance and signed a peace treaty with Israel. Netanyahu has betrayed MY devotion and that of many others in refusing to pursue a legitimate peace.

  34. I think that President Obama should give whatever aid was going to go to Israel to the Palestinians.
Netanyahu, is not friend of the United States. President Obama, please don’t forget what a backstabbing bastar* netanyahu is.

  35. Netanyahu also was responsible for 47 traitorous Republicans to violate the Logan Act
and become dupes for both Israel and Iran. These lousy Republicans actually went against the President of the United States and took sides with Israel.
I sincerely hope the 47 Republicans Senators are remembered as being traitors the rest of their miserable lives.

    • Unfortunately, with both the Senate and the House being in Republican hands….nothing will happen to these treasonous individuals even tho’ they DID violate the Logan Act! I think the Justice Department should take them to court and at least give them all major fines….maybe they’ll learn to think before they act! Apparently, NONE of them were aware of the law, and Cotton, being an ex-military officer (like myself) apparently didn’t remember about the “chain of command.”

  36. Benjamin Netanyahu made it clear he can not be trusted and will say anything like any other politician to get elected. He would rather go to war than even think of the word “compromise” to reach a peace agreement. Israel continues to come off looking like the bully of the Middle East. It is not fair for the Palestinian people who have been caught in this nightmare for decades.
Perhaps they should go this next war alone without US involvement. Or maybe the 47 senators who signed the letter of a rookie senator (who is only trying to make a quick name for himself) to Iran can go and fight side by side with Israel when the next war begins. I’m not sure you can count on them though, they talk a good line but when push comes to shove they tend to back off.We have supported Israel since the beginning and over and over again they continue to spit in our face when it comes to looking for a binding peace agreement. It’s time to send Israel a message, they’re big boys and as Mr.Netanyahu has shown our own Commander and Chief he doesn’t need our advice.

  37. Netanyahu showed his true colors. His goal is to never allow a Palestinian state, and he has been false in ANY attempt at peace talks for his 9 years in office. Netanyahu has used every excuse to create delay’s in the peace process and to continually steal land meant for a Palestinian state. If their was ANY sincerity and their only concern was SECURITY they would NOT continue settlements. That would be obvious to all except those blinded by the thought of going to heaven because they support Israel unequivocally

Meanwhile he has cajoled the U.S. to veto down any attempt at a Palestinian state in the UN.

Kudos to the President for opening up the possibility that we may rethink our RUBBER STAMP veto for Israel in the UN.

Where is the Fairness? Stop the settlements negotiate for your security and allow the people occupied to have their own state. The Hypocrisy stinks and it amazes me that a people that have been oppressed and slaughtered themselves can lay ANY oppression on another people under the color of Security.

Israel has their beloved state and a military power ranked 11th in the world with the Number 1 military power to back it up! Shame on the progressive minded Israeli’s for allowing this Hypocrisy to continue but it all comes down to greed in the end for free land and not caring for those they steal it from.

    • Repeated efforts by Israel to “negotiate security” has always resulted in the emergence of another radical militant to guide the Palestinians toward further aggression against Israel. Portraying Israel as the aggressor does nothing to assure statehood for Palestine, which I assume is the desired outcome.

Beyond Israel withdrawing an understandably heavy hand toward those that attack her, it’s going to take the rise of a Ghandi-like leader within Palestine, unlike Hamas or the terror-mongers before it, to steer the Palestinians toward a peaceful solution to statehood.

      • Your reply has a lot of validity but I am sure by your response that you realize that Israeli’s have contributed to the situation.

The mass punitive actions in the occupied territories for decades now has polarized those within the territories to further extremism. This gives the radical militants easy targets to point at to garner support by those occupied. Things that only Israel could get away with that are WAY against the Geneva convention.

These are things are so bad that our founding fathers were so upset about these things, that they wrote the bill of rights to protect against it in America. But actions like these take place daily in the occupied territories.

        1. Third Amendment

Main article: Third Amendment to the United States Constitution

No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without
the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be
prescribed by law. IDF forces regularly quarter in private Palestinian homes as seen on 60 minutes.

        2. Its water wars. Water rationing that generational Palestinian farms have become non-existent while water in Israel proper flows free. To the point where a cactus farm would not have enough water. Infrastructure gets bulldozed regularly and the tap is turned on by the conqueror.

        3. Mass punishment and destruction of homes for anyone related to or even entire neighborhoods to other people who commit crimes against Israel. (the last people that practiced collective punishment were in Germany in 1940’s) we had a trial called Nuremberg to handle that.

A little simple internet search pulls up multiple Factual examples of these things that civilized societies would not do that Israel does daily to those occupied.

It really is the equivalent of, we will take the best land, corral you in the Mojave desert, not give you any water and make it near impossible for you to live and work. The last people that happened to was the Indians.

Oh this all takes place funded by the American dollar.

        • You can’t impose US constitutional values on a nation that has to police itself under different rules. Israel is compelled to survive under direly different conditions than the protected mode in the US.

The US doesn’t have neighboring terrorists to deal with. And that isn’t due to the ‘civilized’ nature protecting itself against the evil element.

The practice of taking out an entire family that has bred evil terrorist elements, though savage and brutal, seems to be a highly effective deterrent. In spite of claiming to be compassionate and progressive, the US chooses to house its prisoners in horrific and brutal prisons.

You can’t counter evil with understanding and negotiations. It has to be segregated from civilized society and eliminated where humanely possible for the protection and safety of all.

          • For the sake of assuming your real person who actually cares I will take a shot at this. I will also assume that your not bought and paid for by the Zionist pro Israeli agenda and that you will give what I am saying a fair shot by doing a little reading?

If your American you should want to impose our Values fairly and equally. Those values actually aren’t just American but are values that are dear to all and for all people who want to be treated humanly. The next assumption you must make for not using those values is the Palistinian’s don’t deserve to be treated like humans or are sub-human? Guess who was the last race that was labeled as such and how were they treated during WW2. It blows my mind that people across the board label another people as evil, savage, brutal, and are all terrorist. That is just a cop out to justify unfair treatment. If a people are treated fairly, would they choose to be these wicked things your proscribing to them.

Might it be that their has been wrongs done? Or do you believe that a people with limited resources just love to fight back with homemade rockets and rocks against a modern army ranked 11 world wide and a far number 1 regionally and technologically. It is unfair treatment over generations by a thousand paper cuts and will not resolve itself without BOTH sides admitting their culpability.

Israel itself must admit its culpability and work to repair damage done or in the end the results will be clear. The Jewish state not becoming Jewish as it continues to totally absorb the west bank and the Arab’s within. If they deny the absorbed Arabs the vote then they are not democratic anymore which the media loves to point out is our only democratic ally in the Middle East. Or they deny the Arabs the vote and treat them as 2d class citizens like a Jim Crow situation which is definitely not democratic. Or they can do what some other poster suggested push all the towel-heads into the Sea. I assume he was talking Genocide. This from a people who were treated totally inhumanly themselves. I guess the lessons that genocide must never happen or the Mantra “Never Forget” must be learned by all except those who had the treatment themselves. It is sad and wrong.

I hope the Israeli who reads this can ask themselves in an honest way to fix the situation because on its current trajectory the dream of a Jewish homeland will be threatened. They need to change course to ensure that homelands stays Jewish with out committing atrocities that will finally break even the stanchest supporters resolve.

This course can only happen with maintaining their military dominance but stopping unfair practices and settlements. Create borders and a viable state that can allow your Ghandi to have a voice and flourish. The chopped up mish-mash that is now the westbank is not viable.

The only site I found that wasn’t full of propaganda is http://www.ifamericansknew.org/

Their is a good booklet written by jews. —>
            http://www.ifamericansknew.org/download/origin_booklet.pdf

The Jews have their homeland and its not going away but don’t they want it to be a haven? Do they wan’t conflict so they can garner more land that they don’t need?

Freedom, and Liberty and Justice for all.

  38. Bibi’s neighborhood is really bad and getting worse which is why holding a gun to the heads of Israelis worked for him: Something like the mushroom cloud scheme that got this whole thing started. The middle east is coming completely unraveled in a way we have never seen and unfortunately their is not one single wise world leader to alter the course of events such as a few during the cold war era. World disaster is half baked and the oven is getting hotter by the day. I’m afraid it is just a matter of time maybe this summer before the big fireworks show: Is that why everybody is flexing?

    • History does tend to repeat itself. Bismarck on his deathbed supposedly said that if there were to be a world war, it would be caused by some silly thing in the Balkans.

Move forward a hundred years and we have an analogous situation: If there’s to be World War III, it may be caused by some silly thing in ther Middle East.

      We should definitely disengage.

  39. I received this response just a short time ago:

“Remember the USS Liberty and the US sailors murdered by the Israelis?”

Yes, I remember the accident and the deep apologies for the friendly fire. Take your hateful twisted revisionist progressive version of history [and] shove it.

My “…hateful twisted revisionist progressive version of history…?”

Would you feel the same way if it was YOUR brothers who were murdered by those rat-bastard Israelis? “…deep apologies for the friendly fire?” The Israelis are sorry, alright. Sorry they didn’t sink the boat! How long have YOU, and any OTHER FOOL, believed this was an “accident?” Let me ask that question another way. How long have you been a disloyal American, assuming that you ARE an American? Are you one of the “sayanim,” or just ignorant of the facts? Or…perhaps you’re an acolyte of the Golden Calf of Israel, otherwise know as a Christian Zionist.

    • Since you seem to know something the investigations of the US DoD weren’t able to determine, I can only conclude that there is no reasoning with the terminally hateful.

      • That is a weak response to Mr. Davis’s charge that the Israelis are not to be trusted. They’ll stab us in the back at the least provocation.

  40. One would think that anyone with an average amount of intelligence would be able to research the USS Liberty incident, read the statements of individuals involved, from the top Navy brass on down to the surviving victims of the murderous attack, and arrive at the conclusion that the attack on the USS Liberty WAS NOT an accident. One also has to wonder at the loyalty of those Americans who blindly accept the bogus “apology” offered by the Israelis.

“Israeli messages intercepted on June 8, 1967, leave no doubt
that sinking the USS Liberty was the mission assigned to the attacking
Israeli warplanes and torpedo boats as the Six-Day War raged in the
Middle East. Let me repeat: there is no doubt – none – that the mission
of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) was to destroy the USS Liberty and
kill its entire crew.” – former CIA analyst Ray McGovern.

And you can always Google “New revelations in attack on American spy ship.”

Unless, of course, one wishes to remain terminally ignorant, and wishes to continue supporting those Heroic Hebrew Hammers who murdered thirty-four defenseless Americans.

    • Excellent posting, Mr. Davis. I’ve seen a television story about the USS Liberty slaughter and it corroberates what you’re written here.

The television story highlightes the fact that fighter planes launched by the Sixth Fleet to support the USS Liberty crew was recalled by President Lyndon Johnson before they reached the area of attack. His excuse was that he was not going to permit a military confrontation with our “ally.” Johnson didn’t care about the loss of American lives.

When the Liberty docked in the United States, the government forced the crew to sign a document promising to never discuss the attack.

      • Thanks for the additional information CPA and J Davis. The culpability of President Johnson, though taking some of the heat away from the alleged Israel intent, as voiced by one analyst, still casts a negative light on the Israel of 1967. Not to discount the tragedy of this event, this happened during the war and it was a spy ship placed in a precarious position by US leadership. What do you expect the Israel of today to do about that tragedy? Maintaining an eternal hate toward a nation nearly fifty years removed from the incident seems unreasonable. We have, after all, been able to find forgiveness toward the axis powers of WW II. I lost several relatives one generation removed from me in the pearl Harbor attack. I had to move foward but still get upset whenever I pause at the memorial in Oahu. Peace.

        • Spy ship? The United States has every right to monitor Israel’s movements. Without us and our money, Israel sinks into oblivion.

Biting the hand that feeds them seems to be an Israeli trait.
