Smart. Sharp. Funny. Fearless.

A few days ago, a U.S. Marine returned to the States after six months in Afghanistan. Spotting his new honey among the people waiting, he rushed forward and planted an enthusiastic kiss — their first kiss, as it turns out. A friend snapped a picture and posted it on Facebook.

And all heck broke loose.

As usual, Mr. Pitts has hit a journalistic home run. Thanks, and I would suggest that although ‘YOSSI & JAGGER’ (the Israeli ‘Brokeback Mountain’) may be a little risque for high school, it should be suggested viewing in all college sociology classes.

I personally would never kiss a man on the lips, because that is something that is personally abhorrent for me to do. However if a person is gay then stop making such a big fuss over it, after all it is not like people that are straight is going to run up to a person of the same sex and plant a big juicy kiss on the first man they see.

And I must also point out to all you Christians about one glaringly overlooked passage in the scripture that no priest even whats to show there Parishioners because no matter what church I have gone to they skip over this aspect as to not have to explain this.

Gen 5:1-2. This is the written account of Adams line.

    1. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God.
    2. He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them man.

Well I don’t know about you people but if God himself is going to call the male and female man, I for one am damn well not going to argue with him and if anyone is willing to argue with God then those people are not working on all thrusters.

Well said, I too have about zero interest in rushing up to any non-related male and planting a kiss on them, but I recognize and honor the reality that GOD has created people who’d rather kiss someone of the same gender.

The problem for the Anti-Gays in the Churches is that if there is an Esilon’s worth of chance (the vanishingly small percentage used for Differentiation in Calculus) that God has created these people with the preference they exhibit to attempt to denigerate their lives/relationships is a slap in the face to GOD their acknowledged creator of all. The secondary problem is in reality people live all along the spectrum of sexual preference and some of the Righties who appear most anti-gay are resisting their own urges. Or so I’ve been told, by at least one former Marine Right Winger who said everyone has these urges we must learn to resist them. Having the law on their side helps them resist their own sexual urges they conscienously see as abnormal.

Before I criticize this soldier, I will go and spend 6 months in Afghanistan. Then, I believe I can give an opinion…

  • catt11daddy

Sad,nasty and shows America’s demise under this, left wing liberal president, and his anything goes attitude.

  • AliceJohnson

Wait, wait – This liberal president has something to do with the soldier’s being gay? That’s a really big stretch. I don’t see how any president can coerce or prevent two gay men from kissing.

Go to Afghanistan for a while, buddy. And while you’re there, think about this: do you really think anyone would actually CHOOSE to be gay? How stupid do you think we are? Like I want to be bullied and beat up, or discriminated against in where I live and whether I work, to be insulted left and right by verbal abuse and signage and print media?
And when you come back from Afghanistan, catt11daddy, I’ll thank you for your service and listen to what you have to say.

Those “low lifes” have put themselves in harm’s way, seen their buddies die, been maimed, injured or killed. I don’t care if they wanna kiss a tree, a hedgehog, a dog, a marmoset, a woman, or a man. That this idiot believes our heroic servicemen/women should be dishonorably discharged for kissing someone they love after going through hell for OUR SAKE, is the lowest form of human ingratitude on this earth. Everyone who believes as he does, should have to spend one day listening to a gay/lesbian soldier’s war experience, with videos, in a guarded room so that he/she cannot walk out.

You shouldn’t hate someone because they are different but hate the sin that’s being committed. Being gay or a lesbian doesn’t constitute a dishonorable discharge from any branch of service. It has nothing to do with protecting our country. There’s no way any of us can point our finger and rightly justify judgement against anyone who practices this way of living without also looking at what sin (s ) we commit on a daily basis. Don’t get it twisted, the act is perverted but they’re still human beings with a heart and feelings.
If everyone that feels so strongly about this unfortunate act would pray without malice from their heart, things could change considerably. You can’t fight this battle with physical strength but spiritually. 2 Chronicles 7:14 plainly states, “that if my people which are called by my name would humble themselves And pray, And seek, my face And turn from their wicked ways, the n will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, And heal their land.
There’s so much more that this country/world needs to focus on which includes ourselves that hatred should be the least of our concerns because when you take the time to really focus on the bigger picture, we’re all in the same boat striving for something better. Say what you want about this comment but be very careful how you pass judgement because God can expose you and your secrets for the whole word to see. Prayer! Is the key/answer to everything and patience is door. Trust and believe that God will answer our prayers against all that is out of order according to his will. Please let’s stop hating each other for whatever our physical differences may be. Jesus is soon to come and you might not have time to say forgive me.

How can you fix your mouth to wrap around your foolish way of thinking. President Obama may or may not do a lot of things you or others might feel is right but the notion that he’s the blame for an individual choosing to practice being a gay or lesbian is straight out STUPID! say what you want about OUR President but he’s striving to fix a mess that was already wrapped and waiting for him when he arrived. A mess that accumulated over 16 years and now people like you want him to fix it in 4 years. Once again, STUPID! hatred of being different has caused this beautiful country of ours to start looking ugly. People of ever race, nationally , other countries run, steal, kill, hide, fight, lie, cheat to be apart of our country but only to come to be hated. Why? We’re all God’s people. If you and others like you can stop looking so hard at his color and trying to find fault in everything he does, then maybe being apart of the problem, you can be apart of the solution. He’s always said that “Yes We Can”, never did he say “Yes I Can”. It takes all of us trying and striving to make our country better. HE’S NOT GOD ! but a servant to God first and then to the people. Pray for him and our government because we’re the ones who put them there. There’s no perfect person! But a perfect God ! Not one president we’ve ever had has pleased all the people, that’s why we’ve had so many. Look at yourself and correct your own issues, which is very obvious you have some and stop pointing fingers at others. Spotlight is on you fight now. Cheese!

I for one don’t believe I was put on this earth to judge others, I gladly leave that to the Lord almighty but for the person who made the quote in the Miami Herald, is he willing to go fight the battles or send his sons and daughters. If not he should keep his opinion to himself and that goes for a lot of the judges out there.
