Video: Mitt Romney Recites 'Davy Crockett'

Mitt Romney, in his never ending quest to convince voters that he is an average Joe, has been trying to relate to Tennessee crowds with an odd spoken-word performance of the “Davy Crockett” theme song.

“This place always has a special feeling in my heart, because when I grew up I was thinking about Davy Crockett,” Romney says before beginning the song.

While it’s better than his repeated claims that Michigan’s trees are “the right height,” it remains to be seen how effective Romney’s pandering will be. According to the most recent polling, Romney and Rick Santorum are in a dead heat in the Tennessee primary.

Romney’s choice to recite the song instead of singing does suggest that he’s at least learned a lesson from his much-derided rendition of “America the Beautiful.”
