So Tom, your telling us Romney’s THAT smart because you interpret it in the vein that no other person (even Mitten’s himself) heard it.. More Pub logic.. If the facts don’t fit then toss in a few circumstantial possibilities that you can muster.. Ask him straight what he meant and if there’s no puppet master near, expect him to confirm his original statement. Read.. his.. lips.., “Obama says we need more fireman, more policeman, more teachers. Did he not get the message of Wisconsin? The American people did. It’s time for us to cut back on government and help the American people.” If he didn’t mean what he said, if he knew that those professions apply to State, then why use it as a weapon to wank Obama? Does he think the American public is stupid and would fall for anything or has it been him all along?

Historically, businessmen haven’t proven to be highly effective presidents. Romney doesn’t have the making of an even mediocre president. He’s a HUGE flip-flopper on nearly every issue. The only thing Mitt can do is repeat what he’s told to say by his handlers. When he wings it on his own, this the king of ignorant of statement we’ll hear again and again. Really, republicans??!! Is this the very best you can present as a candidate for the highest office?!! I mean, REALLY??!!

Patricia, the federal government doesn’t hire teachers, police officers and firefighters – that is for local and state municipalities. So you are taking Romney’s comments out of context. He was merely using it as an example of cut backs that are necessary unless we want to continue to print money to borrow from ourselves – a concept that can have disasterous consequences. The number of firefighters, police and teachers should be decided on by the local communities based on their needs and simply adding people to the payroll to better the unemployment numbers doesn’t solve any of our problems.

Romney says he knows how to create jobs — yet he wants to cut back on firefighters, police officers & teachers — people who are the very backbone of our society. Romney also says that his business experience will make him a good president, well it sure didn’t help GW Bush who was also a CEO. However, Reagan & Clinton who never had any business experience were good preisdents. Looks to me like being a businessman is a detriment rather than an asset when it comes to being President.
