The Los Angeles Times has a great article on embattled Rep. Anthony Weiner’s constituents sticking behind him, and a poll of his district showing a solid majority–56%–don’t want him to resign. The piece is a classic example of how retail politics–and bringing home the bacon to community groups–has ingratiated the congressman with his Queens- and Brooklyn-based district once held by Senator Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), another master of on-the-ground local politics.
