#EndorseThis: Trump’s Border War Against Butterflies

As Trump mulls whether to sign the border wall deal, Stephen Colbert offers his own analysis of this dismal impasse. Of course, as he notes, what the president and Congress have achieved is nothing but the barest minimum: the continuation of government.

This is hardly an occasion for celebration — and yet a Washington nimrod like House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy will insist that the slashed budget for Trump’s border wall actually represents a major Republican victory.

As Colbert notes acidly, the deal is not even close to a win for Trump. But even worse is what the president’s minions are now doing along the border — to defenseless butterflies.
