From Russia With Love: Trump Stooges ‘Boris And Natasha’

Share

Let’s see now: one presidential candidate’s campaign director resigns after being outed as a Russian stooge, allegedly accepting millions in cash under the table. The other candidate meets with a Nobel Prize-winning economist who once donated to her husband’s charity—dedicated to providing HIV/Aids medication to millions of Third World victims.

Quick now, which of these two situations registers higher on the news media’s scandal meter? Which candidate has portentous “questions” to answer about troubling appearances?

Look, it’s all about the horse race and the ratings. But things are getting ridiculous. Trump’s right: he could say he’d been an All-Star third baseman for the Yankees or shoot somebody dead on national TV, and the next item on the evening news would involve Hillary Clinton’s damn emails. Has the press ever given such scrutiny to any other politician’s communications?

Wouldn’t you love to see Gen. Colin Powell’s emails from the time of his infamous 2003 United Nations speech about Saddam Hussein’s phantom “weapons of mass destruction?”

Oops! All deleted. Sorry.

On TV in particular, the concept of “balance” requires solemnly equating the truly consequential with the utterly absurd. Paul Manafort has essentially vanished from media radar screens. OK, so Trump’s campaign manager appears to have been a covert lobbyist for Vladimir Putin. Old news. Ho hum.

Meanwhile, this just in! Huma Abedin’s crazy husband has been texting dirty pictures again. Try to believe the New York Times published this sentence: “Mr. Weiner’s extramarital behavior also threatens to remind voters about the troubles in the Clintons’ own marriage over the decades, including Mrs. Clinton’s much-debated decision to remain with then-President Bill Clinton after revelations of his relationship with Monica Lewinsky.”

Much debated by the voices in columnist Maureen Dowd’s head, perhaps. Most rationally consequent adults long ago decided that other people’s marriages are a foreign country where they don’t speak the language and got on with their lives. Weiner’s clearly mentally ill; journalists compulsively focused on Bill Clinton’s zipper twenty years after the fact appear similarly deranged.

Meanwhile, Manafort may have exited stage right, but Boris and Natasha remain. Named for the bungling Soviet spies in the old “Rocky and Bullwinkle” cartoons (“Must capture moose and squirrel”) that’s my pet name for the Russian emailers who began sending me unintentionally funny messages a while back.

Hiding behind the pseudonyms “Jason” and “Karyn,” they pretended to be angry Americans disgusted by my pointing out that candidate Trump had adopted an oddly pro-Putin foreign policy agenda—conceding that Russia had stolen Crimea fair and square, and hinting that NATO should basically be a protection racket, defending only nations whose “premiums” are paid up.

Being outed really annoyed them. Calling themselves “Natasha Nabokov” and “Iliad Tchaikowsky” this time, they reacted with scatological insults and implied threats.

Addressing me as “Jeanie”—that’s “Evgeni” to you, sweetheart—Natasha wanted to know “How are things at the Market & Grill in the one horse town of Houston?  [Arkansas] Maybe we’ll bump into you there sometime. The owner told us that you might stop by to celebrate your birthday in September. You are one old degenerate c********r that’s for sure. You are described by everyone as being a long time leftist. A massive understatement to be sure.”

Nice try, Natasha, but I’ve never been there. Boris (aka “Ilya”) asked after my wife by name, and wondered “who radicalized who in the ways of leftism in the marriage.” The same joker claimed to have been to Louisiana, observing “23 semi-trucks loaded with food and supplies that were delivered by President Trump….Your commie buddy Barry Soetoro was on a golf course” — he added an unprintable description oPresident Obama supposedly engaging in public sex — “but promised to show up there to drop off a supply of condoms for everyone.”

In short, Russian operatives are even more witless and coarse than their American counterparts. Does “Ilya” actually believe that Trump delivered relief supplies? Or does he imagine I’d believe it? Both, probably: Russian “news” reports are even more assiduously pro-Trump than Sean Hannity.

In reality, Trump spent a reported 49 seconds unloading children’s toys for the TV cameras.

Anyway, Putin is definitely not getting his money’s worth. I’m not real scared. Boris and Natasha resemble minor characters from Dostoyevsky’s prophetic novel The Possessed—all buffoonery and half-baked ideology. They could have gleaned more accurate information from my Facebook page, and have no clue how rural America works. Anybody who came sniffing around the country store where I do trade would provoke a tip-off to me off at once.

But nobody’s coming. What would be the point? Even in a gangster state like Russia, journalists get murdered for knowing specific secrets, not for being smart-alecks. The larger question of Russian covert influence in European and American politics, however, isn’t so easily laughed off.

However, I do think I’ll postpone that trip on the Trans-Siberian Railway.

While there is no doubt that the lies, hyperbole, and deflections to keep attention away from relevant issues, influence the mindset and decisions of those whose ideological convictions range from neo-Nazi strategies, to rejection of anything that helps that middle class and the poor, to the proposed implementation of policies designed to target ethnic and cultural minorities; it is important to remember that those strategies also reinforce the decisions of people of principle to vote for Democrats.

I and many others are fed up with the nonsensical false equivalency crap being put forth by so called journalists like Chris Cuomo and Andrea Mitchell. There is very little legitimate journalism anymore, nothing in the genesis of the greats of American journalism. There is nothing but a National Enquirer mindset in the work of these Chris Cuomo Andrea Mitchell gadflies.

Melania is currently revising the Donald’s concession speech for Election Night. The original copy was provided by Rickochet Perry and had one word: “OOOPS!”
Melania is adding to that. So far, she’s come up with: “OOOPS! I messed up, Fearless Leader! Moose and Squirrel got away, but I’ll get them next time!”
(That’s what she used to report under her old name – Natasha Fatale.)

Look. It comes down to “who” The Donald associates with, why and how. No president, according to the U.S. Constitution is allowed to take office unless he discloses ALL of his prior business associations.

Now, the lawless Dodge City Republicans want that rule broken too. So, go ahead. Let Trump refuse to disclose his tax records. Then, when The Emperor Trump starts using the U.S. Treasury to fill up his bank accounts using conflict of interest. Don’t complain.

My guess is that, like Sanders, who refused to concede or show his tax records, these boys are a guilty as hell of some pretty dirty dealings.

He’ll meet with Mexico’s president, make his business deals because he knows if he doesn’t, when he loses the election, he won’t have a single business associate left he has not found so reason to bash.

I suspect President’s Pena Nieto’s invitation to both Hillary and Donald, was an act of desperation on his part. His approval ratings in Mexico is around 20%, and he is under constant attack as a result of misconduct allegations.
Trump will use this visit as a photo-op, regardless of evidence that show how unpopular he is in Mexico, and throughout Latin America. I suspect he is trying to propel his dismal foreign policy credentials. The sad part, is that most Republicans don’t see anything wrong with his flip flops, his bizarre statements, poor judgment, and lack of knowledge. Hillary lead has narrowed to between 5 and 8 points nationally. The audience at The National Legion, during Hillary’s speech today, was so silent it was deafening.

Unless something dramatic happens during the next two months, I think the election is going to be a lot closer than it should be.
If you had asked that question two weeks ago, my answer would have been no, but the new strategy embraced by Trump and his new team is bearing fruit. It does not matter that his statements are the exact opposite to what he said during the past year. It doesn’t matter that his sudden change of heart has more to do with winning, than an actual change in convictions or plans. This is all about perceptions, and the need to convince those who are on the fence to vote for him…and it is working.
Hillary’s speech at the Legion today was a disaster. She looked exhausted, rattled, and probably troubled by the fact that all she could get from the audience was minimal, sporadic, applause. She has to shift gears ASAP, or the victory we all anticipated a couple of weeks ago, is going to evaporate in front of our eyes. The worst part is that Trump is beating her on issues, rather than the usual e-mails, Foundation, or Benghazi.

She has to look presidential and knowledgeable to impress those who understand the importance and requirements of the Office of the Presidency, but cannot look condescending or go into too much detail because, if she does, she will lose those who are more interested in appearances, bombast, and a witty comment than substance.

I for one will take Putin’s favor of Trump very seriously. There is something very sinister going on here that is why we should look at Trumps taxes to see where and who he is doing business with. We know he is indebted to China, Germany, Goldman Sachs and suspect Russia also to the tune of over 600 million dollars. I think the FBI should focus on his contacts and the contacts of the people that surround him. Enough with the Hillary e-mails. This is the typical Republican strategy, just make up conspiracies, health concerns ( they did it to Mondale) and all sorts of unproven lies. Why? Because they know they cannot win fair and square. Henceforth gerrymandering and no early voting are just two tactics that is appealing to Republicans. Actually as a Republican they are making me ill to the point where I cannot in good conscience vote for any of them in this coming election. P.S The National Enquirer is Trumps tactic and his tabloid of choice( because they are his buddies). Dominick, I enjoy your intelligent and rational comments. You give me hope for this country.

GREAT POINTS. In ’92, the unemployment rate shot off the charts when Reaganomics showed it was truly ‘voodoo economics’ and Gov. Clinton campaigned on REAL SOLUTIONS (which worked well, also). Pres. G.H.W. Bush campaigned on Bushit. All he had was ‘He smoked weed! He’s been with other women! He didn’t go to Viet Nam!’ ALL CHARACTER ASSASSINATION tactics which FAILed.
Now, the same BRAND of Bushit gets hurled at HRC. She has REAL SOLUTIONS, and has the luxury on running on many of the successes set by Pres. Obama, who’s at over 53% nationally. Jobs are being created, the unemployment rate is at 4.7%, terrorists are on the run (having been pushed out of the large cities they really wanted), Wall St. has rebounded, and the debt has been paid down dramatically. THE ECONOMIST, a magazine done in the UK, confirms ALL OF THIS.
Todd has nothing but witless hysterics, a cheap TEAbuttal that runs to guilt without trial or real evidence.
END CONGRESSIONAL GRIDLOCK and VOTE for every Progressive on your ballot. Let’s all DISMANTLE the Party of NO.

Why is the Press giving so many passes to the crooked dealings of Trump? Are they being bought off? The nasty Rs in the House are just using Hillary’s emails to drive down her numbers, they admitted that months ago. Nothing to see there. The FBI says nothing to charge her with, no crime committed. Well Trump has committed many crimes, why aren’t they investigating him? He has even been committing crimes right now in some of his stunts while running for President There would be Hell to pay, if it had been Hillary. So why are they not charging him with these crimes, plus the immigration crimes he has done? He screws people out of many Millions of dollars, and put off his 1500 trials until after the election. The voters need this info, so why are they waiting? Being paid off? There certainly is a double standard running in our Press and we need to be wise to that in our choice when we enter the voting booth. They lie about her all the time, have been doing it for 30 years, yet they always find no crime was committed. They are barking up the wrong tree, they need to be checking out Trump and filing charges for the crimes he is blatantly committing. Including asking for and accepting campaign donations from other countries, including Russia and has loans at Russian banks.

As Gene Lyons correctly point out, the press makes a lot more money on a horse race than a blow out. And it definitely effects the way they cover elections. Unfortunately that’s one thing that has changed for the worse, since the days of Cronkite, Huntley-Brinkley, 3 channels on the T.V. a hometown newspaper, and what we heard down at the restaurant, or general store, made up the majority our sources of information on the candidates. Now, our local newspapers are dead, or dying. The impersonal super store is where we shop. Heck, the cashiers hardly speak! And it’s came down for a lot of busy folks these days, to the cutthroat cable market, and maybe thirty minutes of National news in the evening. Not counting of course, the loooong one minute intro, the ten minutes of drug company commercials, the always present weather report we just heard if we watched the local feed. and the usually inane, “human interest story,” at the end. And then it’s “Thanks for watching,” “And don’t forget to watch The Batchelor right here on blah blah blah!” So what did we really learn? No, I’m afraid the American public is largely;y on their own. And maybe that’s a lot of the problem?

The press doesn’t need to be bought off by an outside party. It is to their ratings/circulation/clickbait benefit to keep every presidential race artificially tight. In years past, this has supposedly had the side benefit of turning people out to vote — even if, by November, everyone was holding their noses while doing so. Unfortunately, this is the only election year in my long lifetime where one side is not merely unqualified but dangerous (neither Goldwater nor W. were actually unqualified), so these false equivalency games are much scarier and much more stress-inducing than usual.

Hillary Clinton’s emails have been investigated ad nauseam but still her enemies and the media can’t stop their witch hunt. Now they have started their “pay for play” baseless, irresponsible media blitz. There is nothing more than wild conjecture that donations to the Clinton Foundation bought access to Secretary of State Clinton. Yet Trump and his media friends constantly talk about it as if there was evidence to prove it. Meanwhile there is actual evidence, including some of Trump’s own statements, that show clear ties between him, some of his staff, and some of his rabid supporters and Russia. This gets reported and immediately forgotten. No patriotic American accepts Trump’s own words as proof no connection exists. Investigate it and provide the results of the investigation prior to election day.

I agree with those who write that scandals (so-called) make for ratings, but I turn off the mainstream news channels. These reporters puff up one of the scariest and dumbest nominees for president in my lifetime–Donald (know-nothing but with a huuge ego) Trump. On top of this non-journalism the number of offensive commercials is sickening–less news content and more, more commercial interruptions. The dumbing-down of America continues.

I watch foreign media almost every day, and can’t believe the contrast, not only on the topics they discussed, but the depth and objectivity of their discussions. A difference in journalistic etiquette and impartiality is obvious when issues such as Hillary’s e-mails are broached. Instead of focusing on the number of new e-mails released, and allegation of wrongdoing, they point out that most State Department correspondence has little or nothing to do with truly top secret matters. The State Department is not involved in actual nuclear capabilities or vulnerabilities, troops movements, spy satellite coordinates, frequencies, or capabilities, and other matters that may compromise our national security. Three e-mail with (c) markings in the text mentioned by FBI Director Comey, dealt with reminders about impending meetings that Hillary was supposed to have. In fact, two of those meetings had already been held when she received those e-mails. The whole thing is a sham. Unfortunately, many Americans have been convinced that she did something unprecedented and terrible, and that electing her would result in the destruction of America. That is why her lead in most recent polls has narrowed to the mid single digits.

They also like to feed Trumps base, giving them a sniff on the the steak, just to rile them up, and we will hear more of coulda, woulda, shoulda, and nothing else. Mean while Trump is scoring points because as the article says nobody is discussing Trumps ties to his mafia, Russian syndicates, nor his pending cases on fraud, racketeering and rape.

The reason it is talked about is because Mrs. Clinton has said, repeatedly, that she gave all her emails to the state department, when she didn’t. The new 14,900 recovered emails show another lie, and now 30 more show another lie. It doesn’t even matter what is in them. The fact that they even exist confirms the lies she has told about their existence.

Most congressman, some presidents and other Secretary of State have deleted theirs, this is a witch hunt and we are tired of it. Judicial Watch is the hunter, they are grasping, and folks like you are anticipating, but as of yet it’s all a witches brewhaha. Let’s talk about Trumps association with the Russians, that is definitely more dangerous to our country. And you and I both know he is hiding something very serious in those taxes, where are they?

Yes, these fat cats want to rule the roost and point to their “honesty and patriotism”, but we can’t SEE THEIR TAX RETURNS. Mitt Robzomby hid some of his and now D. Rump does the same. And Heaven only knows what’s hidden in Dick Chainedme’s Torture Dungeon in his ‘undisclosed location’!! And where are those WMDs, anyway??!!

Clinton-envy, like penis envy, is unbecoming. Relax and read some good books—-I would recommend a book on Linear Algebra. The concepts of vector spaces, column and row bases, and linear transformations are quite interesting.

Mrs. Bill (the rapist Clinton’s meeting with a ‘prize winning economist” wouldn’t mean anything , except that same economist was fired by the banking firm he worked for because the economist was engaged in insider trading. The AP, not a bastion of conservatism, has found scheduling and emails that show the pay for play that was happening at the state department when Mrs. Clinton was secretary of state. I am constantly amazed that democrats can’t seem to finally say “yuck” to all the corruption coming from the Clintons. I guess party is still more important than country and there is an extreme willingness to accept greed, corruption, lies, and total dishonesty of the leaders of the party. Since this is the case, one should not condemn the likes of Lachte for lying and making up a story about guns to his head. He is only following the lead of the secretary of state describing how she landed under sniper fire and had to run to her car while the video shows a totally different story. She has benefitted from her lies, so he should have every expectation of benefitting from his.

The scheduling does not prove pay for play. Either post actual facts, or stop insinuation. Where is the corruption? You want it so bad you can see it in your thoughts, but where is the evidence? You guys make me sick every time someone makes a bad decision, it is the fault of the democrats, Obama administration or the Clintons. ” He is only following the lead of the secretary of state” is as asinine as you can possibly get. Well since Cheney lied about the war I guess all future president have the right to lie to us. Really, get a grip and know that you are supporting a very dangerous idiot.

Weird how Bill – who, reminder, is not actually running for President – is definitely a rapist, but Trump – accused three times under oath of rape AND CHILD MOLESTATION – is somehow innocent. Also everything else you said was paranoid gibberish.

No wonder you are willing to support a lying, enabler of a sexual predator. None of that is gibberish, just facts. She claimed she released ALL of her emails, except for 14,900 she didn’t. No gibberish, just fact. She put the security of the US at risk with her “extreme carelessness” with classified documents. No gibberish, just facts. If you don’t understand that she is the absolute queen of corruption, then your IQ has to be around 70, if you do understand how corrupt she really is, and you still support her, then you are as corrupt as she is.

Weird how you accuse me of lying, then proceed to lie. Nothing I said was untrue. Trump has been accused of rape AND MOLESTING A CHILD in a court of law; no amount of baseless conspiracy theories about Clinton change that whatsoever, and it’s incredibly strange that you think they do.

PROOF is needed to establish guilt – and righties walk around CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE to try and convict Dick Shamedme and Geo. W. Mush whenever they can. How about checking out Powell’s, Rice’s, Rumsfeld’s, Bremer’s, Wolfowitz’s emails regarding the war, the occupation, and the FAILure to find even ONE stockpile of uranium-enriched WMDs. Most of the aforementioned said there were TONS of them all over Iraq! LOL

Flat out lie!! You’re doing nothing but parroting a mealy mouthed Republican liar named Comey!!!!!

None of the documents Hillary received or sent on her private email server were correctly marked as classified at the time she was handling them!!! NONE OF THEM!!

She used a government server for emails that were marked classified!!!!!!! All of which is exactly what Colin Powell suggested that she do when she first became Secretary of State!!!!!!!

And if Hillary put the nation at risk, what about the Bush White House where Bush, Cheney, Rove, Rice, Powell and 17 other staffers USED THE RNC’S PRIVATE SERVER FOR 85% OF THEIR OFFICIAL BUSINESS FOR OVER 5 YEARS!!! AND ROVE USED THE PRIVATE RNC SERVERS FOR 100% OF THE WORK HE DID WHILE IN THE WHITE HOUSE!!! AND THAT’S BOTH GOVERNMENT AND POLITICAL BUSINESS!!

AND THERE ARE STILL 80 MILLION EMAILS MISSING FROM THE BUSH WHITE HOUSE YEARS!!

TALK ABOUT PUTTING AMERICA AT RISK!!

It’s “SAD, SO SAD”, Todd, that with all of that “corruption” you point to, there have been no charges leveled at Sec. Clinton. BTW, no emails were hacked into, according to the FBI. In addition, she didn’t intentionally OR unintentionally send sensitive or any kind of emails to hostile nations OR terrorist cells. Again, that comes from the FBI. And after NINE investigations, she didn’t lie or NEVER LIED to Congress about Benghazi, emails, etc. Your SIDE has nothing but the usual CHARACTER ASSASSINATION, all PROOFS ASIDE. Just ask that useless Trey Gowdy…
HRC is going back to the White House in TRIUMPH for eight years. Oh yeah, get impeachment proceedings out of your head. Pres. Obama will KILL all of that with a PRESIDENTIAL PARDON. Pres. Ford got CROOK Nixon off the hook with that one and he WAS ACTUALLY GUILTY of everything thrown at him, and it took less investigations and LESS time! ALL FACTS.

The Clinton’s are living rent-free in your mind, and you retaliate by citing a baseless lie referring to Bill as a rapist. Do you have anything to say about the rape allegations against Trump?

Yeah it’s tough for us truly caring Americans to watch as the media put a negative light on whatever the Con Man Trump and his accomplices can hang their hat on, when it comes to Hillary; while at the same time, the media gives more mike time to excuse and explain Con Man Trump antics in an obviously undeserved better light.
Wish there were more public media support for Hillary from Democrats in office. Seems like they just letting her take a beating on her own. Where are they?

His team made him REALIZE he cannot WIN without a certain percentage of Latinos and blacks, and now he’s finally talking ‘nice’ to them. HAHAAHAW! He needs WOMEN 45-under, and he hasn’t gotten cozy with them yet. He’s BLOWING IT. Early voting starts in LESS than two weeks and he’s almost done. The Debates seals the deal. They’ll embarrass him and outmaneuver him constantly. Bin Laden taunted Pres. Booshwah routinely with videos and the terrorists BEHEADED Americans on tape constantly, when they weren’t killing them at embassies, compounds, and bases. 60 AMERICANS DIED in those areas on Bushit’s watch, but somehow….somehow, the Romnesia victims can’t remember the ’00s.
