George Zimmerman Takes A Victory Lap On A Dead Boy’s Grave

Trayvon Martin

It was not enough just to kill Sam Hose. No, they had to make souvenirs out of him.

Hose was an African-American man lynched by a mob of some 2,000 white women and men in 1899 near the town of Newman, Ga. They did all the usual things. They stabbed him, castrated him, skinned his face, mutilated him, burned him alive.

Then they parceled out pieces of his body.

You could buy a small fragment of his bones for a quarter. A piece of his liver, “crisply cooked,” would set you back a dime. The great African-American scholar, W.E.B. DuBois, reported that Hose’s knuckles were for sale in a grocer’s window in Atlanta.

No, it wasn’t enough just to kill Sam Hose. People needed mementos of the act.

Apparently, it wasn’t enough just to kill Trayvon Martin, either.

Granted, it is not a piece of the child’s body that was recently put up for auction online by the man who killed him. George Zimmerman is offering “only” the gun that did the deed. But there is a historical resonance here as sickening as it is unmistakable.

Once again, a black life is destroyed. Once again, “justice” gives the killer a pass. Once again, there is a barter in keepsakes of the killing.

Sam Hose was not unique. People claimed hundreds, thousands, of trophies from the murders of African Americans. They kept bones. They kept sexual organs. They kept photographs of themselves, posed with mutilated corpses. It happened with the killings of Thomas Shipp, Abram Smith, Rubin Stacy, Laura Nelson, Claude Neal and too many more to count.

So perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised to see it happen with Trayvon.

And someone will say, yes, but isn’t there a lively trade in all sorts of murder memorabilia? One website alone offers a signed postcard from Charles Manson, a letter from Jeffrey Dahmer, pictures of Ted Bundy. So how is this different?

Funny thing, though: All those men went to prison for what they did. Zimmerman did not. Initially, authorities couldn’t even bring themselves to arrest this self-deputized neighborhood watchman who stalked and shot an unarmed boy four years ago near Orlando.

Not that it mattered much when they did. Zimmerman went to court, but it was 17-year-old Trayvon who was on trial. A nation founded, rooted and deeply invested in the canard of native black criminality very much needed to believe Zimmerman’s improbable tale of self-defense, very much needed to find a way for the boy to be guilty of his own murder.

And so he was.

And the marketing of the gun that killed him by the man who pulled the trigger does not feel like simply another example of flagrantly bad taste. No, it feels like a victory lap on a dead boy’s grave. It feels like America once again caught in its own lies.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal”? No we don’t.

“…with liberty and justice for all”? No there is not.

One is left breathless, not just with anger, not only with frustration, not simply with a sense of betrayal but also with a grinding fatigue at the need to, once again, ride out an assault on the basic humanness of African-American people.

Like Sam Hose, Trayvon Martin was “thing-ified,” made into something not his singular and individual self, made into an all-purpose metaphor, the brooding black beast glaring through the night-darkened window of American conscience. And like Sam Hose his murder is now commodified, made into a trophy for display in someone’s den.

African-American life is thereby — again — debased, and the nation, shamed. So when this thing is sold it really won’t matter who writes the check.

We all will pay the price.

Only a matter of time – Zimmerman is destined for a bad end, and probably self-inflicted.

Yeah, you know it’s coming! Zimmerman is so messed up that it’s just a matter of time. He was a very sick damaged individual before he became a murderer. And now that he is a murderer it’s only gonna get worse. We’ve already seen a small glimpse with his assaults on women and his incoherent ramblings on the 911 tapes from those incidents. No such thing as god or any of that b.s. but people who live ignorant destructive lives generally end up in ignorant destructive lives that are miserable.

If a sicko wants to buy something that Manson puts out, O.J. squeezes or Zimmerman wants to benefit off of then let’um do it.. This way we can absolutely determine the worst of humanity from the rest of us. I don’t think anyone with an iota of brain matter and morals would stoop so low as to make murderers benefit financially from their crimes and those who do are as useless in the gene pool as the ass hairs who seek financial security from this ill gotten gain. I say anything these a-holes receive should go to the families of who they murdered .. It should be the least they can do for continuing to breathe their victim’s air.

Manson was the only one of those you listed that was guilty of murder. And Jerry Brown let HIM off.

      1. idamag May 18, 2016

Manson was the only listed murderer who got convicted. Just like Mississippi and Alabama, in the days gone by, juries will let the poor excuses for human beings get by with murder in the south.

      2. Darsan54 May 18, 2016

“let HIM off”? Isn’t Charlie in prison?

        1. bhaggen May 19, 2016

Charlie got the death penalty. Thanks to governor Moonbeam he didn’t get gassed.

      3. Siegfried Heydrich May 18, 2016

Manson never killed anyone. His ‘family members’ did. But since he sent them, he was equally guilty, and was thus convicted along with the rest. But he, himself? Nope, never did.

      4. Jmz Nesky May 18, 2016

Just because they escaped justice doesn’t mean they weren’t guilty except in the eyes of the law.. These people were involved in the death of other human beings.

        1. bhaggen May 20, 2016

Correction! They may not be INNOCENT, even though they were found NOT guilty. Likewise, if some fool “accidentally” kills someone in a crosswalk with their car while texting, he/she is NOT guilty of murder but not innocent either.

          1. Jmz Nesky May 20, 2016

No, they call that manslaughter and it too carries a heavy penalty but certainly not a free pass in the name of “affluenza”

  4. pisces63 May 18, 2016

They also made postcards and mailed them to relatives of black lynchings, burnings and beatings which were compiled into books such as ‘Without Sanctuary: Lynching Photography in America’, ‘At the Hands of Persons Unknown: The Lynching of Black America’, among others.

He was found not guilty by a jury, just as OJ was. However trying to sell a gun that killed the young man is absolutely classless. I think Zimmerman is a low class individual and he has and continues to prove that. Re-trying the case does no one any good. My guess is Zimmerman will get his butt in legal trouble in the future.

This man Zimmerman needs help, because it is glaring that he is sick in the head. The spirit of Trayvon will continue to haunt him unless he repents, and if he fails to repent, but continues to relish in the “unjustifiable justice” that made him the victor over his defenseless victim, the judgement of God that is not influenced by an earthly jury is not far away.

      1. barry1817 May 18, 2016

no I am referring to the thug that tried to kill Zimmerman and who on the stand had his girl friend testify that he was looking to put some whooping on this man.

        1. Paul Bass May 18, 2016

Barry, you’re CRAZY and a BIGOT! Congrats, but we already knew that!

You do know that DEAD people can’t testify? Also they can’t talk to their girlfriends…

          1. barry1817 May 18, 2016

your comments show that you did not follow the case or read the transcript because the girl friend did testify, and the testimony was that Martin went back and was going to do some whup ass on Zimmerman

Now as to your personal attacks, I will no longer respond to your posts, because your projection of bigotry onto another and your attack while exhibilting your ignorance is astoudning and life is too short to waste any more time with loons, and idiots and people such as you.

I’m not going to respond to bary, the KKK racist. He doesn’t understand the boy was not stalking Z. He was trying to get away from him. Those racists are a malignancy on our Democracy.

      1. idamag May 19, 2016

Karma. One of these days something terrible is going to happen to bary. If you become hateful, the hate comes back to you. The Bible says you reap what you sow Zimmerman is a murderer and his actions, since the so-called jury exonerated him shows him to be sociopathical also. Those who defend this evil person will reap what they sow.

        1. ivory69690@yahoo.com May 19, 2016

then it this be so let barry fall the hardest and reap what he sow’s and may he cry hard and loud at that time and no one hear his tears

and your post confirms that you are not dealing with reality,

So you think a person should have his head bashed in and not be able to protect himself.

Right, while having his head bashed in he was supposed to call 911 and wait for police to show up. Wonder how you would respond to an unprovoked attack with a person banging your head into concrete.

And to cite a case after this case, the police officer died on scene when a similar youth/thug/criminal/druggie pounded the man’s head into the concrete.

      1. ivory69690@yahoo.com May 18, 2016

what are you talking about ? your nuts it ZIPPERHEAD Your brother . he wouldn’t have to had nothing to worry about if he wasn’t stalking the kid

        1. barry1817 May 18, 2016

the fact that you didn’t hear the testimony of Martin’s girl friend or read the transcripts, but profess to spout such nonsense is indicative of a person that isn’t serious about the issue, resorts to personal attacks and isn’t worth any further time, as my time is to valuable to deal with such idiocy, and with Grubers and with a person such as you.

So take your last personal attacks but you are now irreleavnt and no longer will be a name that wastes my time to even scan.

          1. Sand_Cat May 18, 2016

Here you are, “wasting your time” again. Maybe a tiny sliver of realization is starting to dawn, but you can’t face it.

          2. ivory69690@yahoo.com May 19, 2016

the true waste of time and space is you for you have so much hate that blinds you for the others that may very well hate as much as you do . but even with your hate you feel is on your side still brings you to being blinded by the hate you have as for reading the transcripts yes I have and you don’t seem to read them yourself sad the jury looked at it with the same blind eyes as you . as Zimmerman is Satin’s sons you also must be his twin. read the transcripts again then again its a waste of time like your life and you are. for you use the blacking out that brings your hate so deep only to a point of a deepest hate of some ppl. sad you are ? naaaaaaaaa just plan EVIL you see only what you evil hate lets you see . read it again but with open eyes not blind ones . for you its too late the sooner you go to your daddy Satin the better off the world will be

          3. ivory69690@yahoo.com May 19, 2016

as for any and all waste of anything its you the KING WASTE OF ALL

          4. idamag May 21, 2016

I listened to the entire testimony of Travon’s friend. She was bullied for being inarticulate by the defense team and, in Florida that was allowed.

          5. ivory69690@yahoo.com May 21, 2016

the thing with that whole trial was the jury them self were either too blind , too stupid, or just had too much hate in them for Zimmerman’s own words on the stand states how he was stalking the unarmed kid for blocks really was running after the kid around the streets when the cops told Zimmerman thy didn’t want him to do that . Zimmerman was hunting the kid just to shot him . and the jury heard all this and still found the POS Zimmerman not guilty . the jury should all be a part of the murder of the unarmed kid

      2. ivory69690@yahoo.com May 18, 2016

unprovoked attack with a person banging your head into concrete… you lost your mind it was the kid that was trying to defend him self from one that was stalking him around the streets . he was running trying to get away from Zimmerman . the kid wasn’t following him he was follower the kid ok you air head lets give you a question you asked ok ? what would you do if you was being stalked by some one and you couldn’t seem to get away from him ? and he wouldn’t stop following you no matter how much you tried to run from him ?

        1. barry1817 May 18, 2016

you should try reading the trial transcripts, but I see that dealing with a person that ignores facts is a useless endeavor.

There will be no more responses to a person wasting my time and exhibiting such collossal ignorance

          1. Paul Bass May 18, 2016

Good, we don’t even like to see printed such unmitigated bigotry.

          2. idamag May 18, 2016

You should try reading the transcripts and not just the defense, you bigot. They took the jury out to reenact the crime as per Z’s version. The boy was supposed to have jumped out of the bushes at Z. There were no bushes where it was supposed to happen. Facts doesn’t change that he was stalking an unarmed boy. Facts: The 911 operator told the murderer to stop following the boy. Facts: a teen boy going to the store for snacks is not illegal. As long as so called justice exonerates that disgusting piece of waste, our streets are not safe.

          3. barry1817 May 18, 2016

since you resort to name calling and your projection of your bigotry onto others, you comments are nothing more than hate filled, blinders on rant.

Go bother someone else with your name calling and inability to see the facts of the case, and to twist anything to a narrative

Nice to see that they still use the photo from years before this thug saw fit to try and put a whoop ass on another human being.

There will be no more wasting my time with a person such as you.

          4. Sand_Cat May 18, 2016

You, the right-wing bigot predictably project your own hate on someone justifiably angry at an unnecessary death and no justice. Yes, our anger at your stubborn bigotry makes us worse than you, right?

          5. ivory69690@yahoo.com May 19, 2016

name calling you say Satin’s son ranting and all look in the mirror at the ugly hateful POS your the one with all the name calling from the start with the name calling of an unarmed kid that was murdered by a stalking evil hateful POS and heck lets get this straight now Zimmerman isn’t white he is just a evil murdering waste of life

          6. Paul Bass May 19, 2016

It’s not projection if you are racist by your own WORDS. Your words are what makes YOU a bigot. The FACT that someone calls you on your OWN words of bigotry is NOT projection, but a statement of truth, based on YOUR racist words.

          7. ivory69690@yahoo.com May 19, 2016

Zimmerman lied through his teeth and the jury blinded from maybe the same hate Zimmerman has then he was the coward hiding from the truth he will get his and rot in hell with his daddy and Barry will be there too the 3Stooge’s

          8. Sand_Cat May 18, 2016

You should try thinking, if you have the capability. Those transcripts do not include any eyewitness testimony but that of the accused; he made sure there was no one to contradict him. “Wasting your time”? You did that by posting your BS in the first place. You’re just afraid to face the truth and explain how you reached your conclusions on the basis of obviously biased evidence.

          9. ivory69690@yahoo.com May 19, 2016

yes but one has to and should read the whole transcript ALL OF IT even the part of Zimmerman stalking the unarmed kid down and murdering him . the transcript says how the unarmed kid was running away trying to get away from some one stalking him to do pretty much what he feared being murdered by this stalker . the transcripts state’s the police told the murder thy don’t need him to follow him . but the murdering Zimmerman had one thing and only one thing on his evil Satin mind (yes like your mind ) and that was to murder this unarmed kid . too bad the kid didn’t have a gun for if he did then you know the coward Zimmerman would have ran home like the punk he is . yes do that yourself read the whole transcript . not that it would do any good for your evil hate wont let you see the truth of it all rot in hell with your daddy . and hope and pray you never cross my pass punk

      3. Paul Bass May 18, 2016

Zimmerman accosted Trayvon! Trayvon didn’t ASK Zimmerman to stalk and threaten him! Z did of his own accord!

So if someone is stalking and threatening you, you can’t defend yourself, but the white man with the gun can threaten then MURDER you?

Sorry, you are too far bigoted to even reason with, you and Zimmerman deserve each other.

        1. idamag May 18, 2016

Anyone, like barry, who uses that flimsy argument is a bigot and disgusting.

      4. idamag May 18, 2016

Shakespeare said, “To thine own self be true and it follows you cannot be false to any man.” You have filtered this incident through your own biases. This is the reality: A 17-year-old and his little brother decide to spend the evening playing electronic games. The older brother goes out into the rainy night to the store to get snacks. He purchases a bag of Skittles and a can of ice tea and starts for home. When he enters the apartment complex, a car is following him. He’s a Black kid, of course he is scared. Florida is part of the south. He goes into a courtyard to get away from the person in the car and the thug in the car gets out and follows him. Now, he is trapped in the courtyard. There is no place to run and he probably saw the gun in the thug’s hand. At this point the law of survival kicks in and he tries to get the gun. There is a scuffle. I saw the pictures of the murderer’s head. There was a small scrape. Not much for being pummeled was there? The latest actions of this murderer shows you exactly what he is and you sticking up for him makes you disgusting in my eyes.

      5. Sand_Cat May 18, 2016

YOU are not dealing with reality. Martin was being stalked by an armed assailant when he was where he had a right to be, doing what he had a right to do. Under Florida law, he had a perfect right to use lethal force, idiot.

    2. Golfguy550@yahoo.com May 18, 2016

    3. ivory69690@yahoo.com May 18, 2016

    4. ivory69690@yahoo.com May 18, 2016

but if one dose do it slowly use the 9 shot clip and start shooting at the toes and work the way up last shot between the rat beady eyes of the POS make him beg for his life before one pulls the trigger of the last shot . PS to all im being as nice as I can he deserve nothing less that what I stated

  9. schymtz May 18, 2016

In his interview with police, Zimmerman reported than Travon Martin, being watched [or stalked by Zimmerman] asked who he was or what he wanted. Zimmerman was asked by police what he told him and he said he was too scared to answer. Travon was confronted by an unidentified stalker with no business being where he was. Apparently, Travon had no presumed right to defend himself. Travesty.

    Reply
    1. idamag May 18, 2016

Travon did not have the right to stand-his-ground and he was the one whose life was in danger.

      1. schymtz May 19, 2016

I hope you comment was an incredulous question. The Stand your Ground legislation is related to bearing an arm and using it. Travon was unarmed and -by Zimmerman’s own words he remained “too scared to answer” when he was asked by Travon who he was. Huge miscarriage of justice in my opinion. Following anyone with a gun and no legitimate reason is stalking at best. Should have been convicted of 1st degree murder in my opinion

        1. idamag May 21, 2016

Being decent human beings, you, and I are in total agreement. A murdering bully was allowed to shoot an unarmed kid and got away with it in the racist south.

  10. Golfguy550@yahoo.com May 18, 2016

I love the fact they keep showing a picture of this guy when he was 10. This was a large dude that got in a fight with another guy with a gun. He thru the first punch he ground and pounded him . I ask what would you do? Not saying Zimmerman should have been looking for him but we all have been in places where we shouldn’t have been and nothing happened.

A “large dude” just walking along minding his own business, when suddenly attached by a stranger he didn’t know, with a GUN? And if you were he would you just stand there?

Trayvon was the VICTIM, Zimmerman was the MURDERER! Stop trying to blame the victim for the murder!

    2. idamag May 18, 2016

It is not against the law to go to the store for snacks to share with your brother. Funny how racists can turn this into the victim’s fault. Travon had every right to be where he was and he should have been protected by the law. the murderer had a right to claim he felt threatened, but that poor kid did not. I suppose you were alone and someone corned you and that person had a gun and you fought for your life, you would be the perp? What racist reasoning.

      1. bhaggen May 19, 2016

Best case scenario? They had both been pronounced DOA at the scene. End, of, story.

        1. Paul Bass May 19, 2016

How is that the BEST case?

An innocent young man was MURDERED by a bigot! And it would be BETTER if they were both dead?

It would have been better if thug Zimmerman had NOT ACCOSTED Trayvon, but Trayvon didn’t get that choice!

          1. bhaggen May 20, 2016

Two American fools meet on a dark rainy night, in this scenario one’s Black the other Hispanic. What could go wrong? Just about anything when Americans are involved. Wife & I were in München for the Oktoberfest several years back. A tailgate party times a thousand. Throngs of people drinking all day long, & not so much as a cross word! Wife says, “If this were Stateside, fights would’ve broke out by now” Right you are dear, but these are Germans NOT Americans. While conversing with a “stranger” across the table from us, the wife mentions that we’re staying 35km outside München. He gives us a key to his apartment, we can sleep on the pull-out for the week. Wife is apprehensive. Relax dear, sexual predators & serial killers are unheard of here. Don’t forget, these are NOT Americans! I’ve studied both European Napoleonic law as well as American case law & watched the Zimmerman trial with great interest. I was SURE that since they were still pushing the murder charge, ballistics would show that the gun was discharged much farther away than he claimed, supporting murder. Yet ALL the evidence & witnesses supported the fool’s story! I would’ve gone for reckless homicide or m a y b e manslaughter. But, quite obviously, there was NO case for murder; never was! Pitiful Americans can’t even get THAT right. Duh

          2. Paul Bass May 20, 2016

Hey, Ziphead STALKED Treyvon, THEN the scuffle accrued.

In your loved Germany, w/ no NRA, you DON’T have every wacko owning assault weapons, so not much lethal interactions with citizens.

So, yea, compare apples to oranges and feel so superior, but while you’re at it, most Americans, left and right, could care less for your “so called” superiority. Have a nice day!

Don’t know about Americans, but you definitely have a very personal problem:

        2. Sand_Cat May 19, 2016

          Yeah, right.
Try this flag instead of the one you have.

          1. bhaggen May 21, 2016

Thanks, but no thanks. I don’t have a pickup. This is my REAL flag. Check your history, thank God we never got involved in the slave trade.

          2. Sand_Cat May 22, 2016

Yeah, just helped the Nazis steal billions from the Jews and others they murdered. You’re real saints.
Sorry, the flag below is a better suggestion.

    3. Sand_Cat May 18, 2016

Martin just “stood his ground,” as the law allows. Perhaps this should start a tiny light in the brains of those pushing such idiotic crap as “stand your ground.”

  11. Siegfried Heydrich May 18, 2016

What this tells me is that not only is Zimmerman a despicable, sorry excuse for a human being, but that he’s stone cold broke. Otherwise, there is no way he’d ever part with his manhood. To him, it must be like pawning his testes, because being a killer is what makes him a man.

Did you actually ever go to school? Grammar, syntax, punctuation, do these words mean anything to you?

Your words would have a lot more impact if they were written coherently!

      1. DOC May 19, 2016

Your smart you can figure that out.

        1. Paul Bass May 19, 2016

          Obviously.
Words STILL have more impact if articulated correctly. People might actually think you have some intelligence if you use them with grammar and syntax in mind. Thank you!

  13. Joan May 18, 2016

Zimmerman is a disgusting humane being. He has released statements castigating the parenting skills of the teenager he killed who was not a thug, not a druggie and who did not deserve to die. We’re I so inclined I could cast some serious aspirations on the parenting skills of the Zimmermans. George apparently likes to beat up on women, is a wreckless driver, a liar , a racist and a poor money manager.

Zimmerman IS a MURDERER and should be rotting away in jail.

He was not CONVICTED of a crime, an entirely different thing than not COMMITTING THE CRIME.

So no, as usual, otto, you are a bigoted, racist idiot. But we at NM already knew that.

      1. Otto T. Goat May 19, 2016

        What crime did he commit?

        1. Paul Bass May 19, 2016

Pretty much the oldest one on the book, remember

          “Thou shalt not kill”
Wow, you should win the zipperhead award!

          1. Otto T. Goat May 19, 2016

Shooting a thug in self defense is not a crime.

          2. Paul Bass May 19, 2016

            Did the bible say:

“thou shalt not kill” (unless you CHASE DOWN someone of a different color than you)?

I don’t think so, again, Otto, defending a MURDERING racist bigot pretty much tells us who you are, congrats, I couldn’t have done it without you.

          3. Otto T. Goat May 19, 2016

Zimmerman didn’t chase down Trayvon, and self defense isn’t murder. You people are really ignorant.

          4. Paul Bass May 19, 2016

Wow! Again Otto, when you say “you people”, WE (anyone with half a brain) KNOW YOU ARE A RACIST BIGOT!

You are saying so with your own words, do you have it branded on your forehead?

Gee, when you are in a hole, stop digging, you fool!

Zimmerman was the victim of a witch hunt. The President of the United States tried to bias the prosecution against him. It’s good to see him getting a little payback.

Otto, your sickness increases with each passing day. You and Trump should see a psychiatrist fast.

      1. Otto T. Goat May 19, 2016

What’s sick is the way you people defend a thug who deserved to get shot.

        1. Aaron_of_Portsmouth May 19, 2016

Otto, are you content with being a witless person w/o the ability to think for yourself? Are you pleased with showing off your enormous amount of nihilism?
Maybe you’re just deranged through no fault of your own, and being manipulated by puppet-masters pulling your strings; or maybe you know full well what you’re doing.

If your condition is due to some organic dysfunction, then you can be excused. Otherwise, you’ll have to pay a price in this world and/or the next. The manner you present yourself to the Creator is up to you, assuming you are in control of your faculties.

Otto, consider this exhortation by Baha’u’llah:

“O SON OF BEING! Bring thyself to account each day ere thou art summoned to a reckoning; for death, unheralded, shall come upon thee and thou shalt be called to give account for thy deeds.”

Look, can we PLEASE stop showing the picture of a ten-year old? Does it really take making Zimmerman’s victim look like a little kid to arouse people in this country to care about what amounted to a stalking and murder?

It is one of the few pictures of Trayvon that has been publicly released.

The family may not have many photos, or may not want all the “negatives” of releasing ANY photos, since apparently many people (Otto!) are going to blame the VICTIM for his own MURDER!

      1. Sand_Cat May 19, 2016

I’ve seen others, but they’re not so flattering. The fact is, people like Otto and barry1817 are going to trash him, regardless of facts, because he’s black. It only makes it worse when they show an old, childhood picture. If they don’t have an up-to-date one, they shouldn’t show a picture at all.

Aside from the callous disregard for having killed whomever, let us concentrate more on the phenomenon at large that drives such rapacity as evinced by Zimmerman. The article points out a disturbing and diseased ethos that goes back to the era of mass lynchings by Christians in America.

The bestial behavior described above by a lynch mob is reminiscent of the behavior of slavers on ships transporting Africans to the Americas. In Mark Boren’s book, “Sugar, Slavery, Christianity and the Making of Race”, he notes the following on page 36 of a horrific technique involving the use of thumbscrews :

    ===================================================================
“…To instill terror in the slaves generally, a set of thumbscrews were kept on board and liberally applied to men, women, and children indiscriminately. “The screws”—another slaver term for a technology of discipline, like dancing—caused excruciating pain, but unlike whippings that exhausted the victim, putting the screws to a slave could exact shrieks for hours. This was extremely useful in terrorizing the rest of the cargo…”
    ===================================================================

Zimmerman, Dylan Roof, the KKK, “Otto the Goat”, and others feel little if any remorse for their shameful behavior, past and present. Indeed, Reinhold and other leaders in America might say that people just don’t care about such events, or haven’t a care about the amoral behavior of many of those who profess a belief in Jesus.

To dismiss the story above or to find fault with the image of Trayvon in the article suggests a mean-spirited, cold, clinical assessment, and an unflinching disposition in the face of man’s inhumanity to man.

As Baha’u’llah cited in “The Hidden Words”:

O OPPRESSORS ON EARTH! Withdraw your hands from tyranny, for I have pledged Myself not to forgive any man’s injustice. This is My covenant which I have irrevocably decreed in the preserved tablet and sealed with My seal.”

Zimmerman, “Otto the Goat”, and the rest of us would do well to consider this warning.

It was recorded by police to “stand down” as they would be there to take charge. Instead he proceeded any way and shot the boy. Trayvon was walking away – he even told police over the phone that.
