GOP House Members Say Despite Evidence, They Won’t Vote To Impeach

House Republicans have moved from saying they would consider impeaching the president if evidence exists he engaged in quid pro quo to now claiming that despite the evidence it’s not an impeachable offense.

The conservative Washington Examiner on Wednesday reports House Republican lawmakers are “evolving” and now “say it no longer matters if President Trump tied $400 million in military aid earmarked for Ukraine to Kyiv agreeing to investigate Democratic rival Joe Biden.”

Texas Republican Congressman Mike Conaway, a top Trump supporter who sits on the the House Intelligence Committee, told the Washington Examiner: “Asking people to do something in order to get the foreign aid, that’s a relatively common occurrence with all of our foreign aid. You could say all of our foreign aid is quid pro quo.”

That’s false.

Oklahoma GOP Rep. Tom Cole says despite all the evidence, “It doesn’t matter much anymore.”

Florida Republican Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, ignoring the U.S. Constitution and the breath of evidence against the president adds: “Is there anything about their conversation that merits throwing out the votes of 63 million people? That’s the bottom line.”

One Republican Congressman asking to not be named summed up his and his GOP colleagues’ position: “Even if the Democrats’ fact pattern that they’ve laid out turns out to be 100% correct, it does not matter.”

Marjorie Taylor Mouth Makes Another Empty Threat

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene

I’m absolutely double-positive it won’t surprise you to learn that America’s favorite poster-person for bluster, blowhardiness and bong-bouncy-bunk went on Fox News on Sunday and made a threat. Amazingly, she didn’t threaten to expose alleged corruption by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy by quoting a Russian think-tank bot-factory known as Strategic Culture Foundation, as she did last November. Rather, the Congressperson from North Georgia made her eleventy-zillionth threat to oust the Speaker of the House from her own party, Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA), using the Motion to Vacate she filed last month. She told Fox viewers she wanted to return to her House district to “listen to voters” before acting, however.

Trump Campaign Gives Access To Far-Right Media But Shuns Mainstream Press

Trump campaign press pass brandished on air by QAnon podcaster Brenden Dilley

Trump's Hour On CNN Was A Profile In Cowardice

Vanity Fair recently reported that several journalists from mainstream publications, including The Washington Post, NBC News, Axios, and Vanity Fair, were denied press access to Trump’s campaign events, seemingly in retaliation for their previous critical coverage. Meanwhile, Media Matters found that the campaign has granted press credentials to the QAnon-promoting MG Show and Brenden Dilley, a podcaster who has promoted the QAnon conspiracy theory and leads a “meme team” that creates pro-Trump content.
