National Memo Editor-in-Chief Joe Conason appeared alongside David Axelrod, former senior advisor to President Obama, on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Friday to discuss calls from the GOP for Attorney General Holder to resign following the Associated Press “scandal.” Conservatives have tried making comparisons between the Department of Justice’s recent actions and the Nixon/Watergate scandal — Conason and Axelrod challenged these claims and explained why such comparisons are altogether inaccurate.
