America's Leaders Are Small, But Americans Are Not

“We the people of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

What a paragraph! Whatever happened to that BIG idea of America — the creation of a society that embraces and fosters such egalitarian values as justice, tranquility, common effort, the welfare of all and liberty?

    Maybe fear can become control. One example is the fear instilled in US citizens that allowed this country to stampede into Iraq on a false pretext.

    … would not let some 1 take their wife, children, home or car, Y would they let some 1 take away the Liberty & opportunity options offered by their own nation? The White House was an example of American’s failure to comprehend their own vote, in 1980, 1988, 1994, 2000, 2004 & 2010, but even so, are still unable to vindicate themselves w/political successes of 1992, 2006 & 2008. Can U see the imbalance? Americans are simply afraid – not of success, but rather, seeing some 1 of color having that same opportunity & enjoying those same successes. Dispute this if U want, but Mr. Hightower, being from TX., understands xactly what this means. Being more articulate than I, he may have a piece he’s been working on re: this subject already. But don’t take my word for it…
