Frankly, I forsee a three-way fight for Speaker. Boehner, Cantor, and Paul Ryan. I guess Rand Paul wanted the job and had to be told that Senators weren’t eligible for it.

    • ObozoMustGo

Baron… you are dead wrong about who can be Speaker of the House. There is actually NO Constitutional requirement that the Speaker be a sitting member of the House of Reps. In fact, the Speaker doesn’t even have to be an elected official. It’s true. Look it up in Wikipedia. It’s in the first paragraph.

I love it! It more than just a quirk of our Constitution, it could be a real solution if we can find a plurality of congressmen and women to support the idea.

        • ObozoMustGo

Bill… they could elect anyone to be Speaker, even you or me. My suggestion would be Scott Walker from WI. He’s proven to be very strong in the face of bitter opposition and come out on top. The House could use someone like him to put them in shape. Even Allen West would be great. Can you imagine Obozo having to negotiate legislation with Allen West? hehehehehehehehe

          Merry Christmas!

West, OB1? Are you really a fan of his?

          • ObozoMustGo

Hey Puxy! Nice to hear from you. And yes, I like Allen West. He’s principled and unapologetic about it. And he doesn’t take crap from the leftist freaks in the media or Congress. I will say that I was pissed at him for giving in on raising the debt ceiling a year ago, though. That’s about the only complaint about him that I had. But I get why the DemonRATS hate him. He’s black and does not toe the prescribed ideological line that he’s supposed to. The same demonizing beating that West took will be brought to Tim Scott, as well. Black that think like conservatives are VERY dangerous to the DemonRATS because they threaten the monolithic control over the black vote. This is why the leftist freaks hate Allen West and are now hating on Tim Scott. It’s the same principle behind why they are attacking Marco Rubio. Because he threatens their control over the Hispanic vote.

Have a wonderful and Merry Christmas, Puxy! ;-)

Bozo as usual you go on with your usual diatribe about the Democrats (how juvenile that you have to spell the name incorrectly). Allen West is a right wing fringe memeber who declared there were 78 – 81 communists in the Democratic Party but never named one of them. As for not taking crap what else did he accomplish? West is no threat to anyone. Also since when do you presume to speak for Black people. Most vote democratic for the reason that the Republican party has basically ignored them and their needs for years. You also think the same thing for Hispanic people.

You a re guilty of the same demonizing of the President. You don’t even shoe the office the repsect of calling him by his name. You are so juvenile that you have to call him Obozo. He has accomplishe a lot more that you will ever do in your simplistic little life.

          • ObozoMustGo

Wrong again, Billy. Allen West specifically called members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus what they are ideologically — communists! It’s exactly what they are. He is correct. And he doesn’t have to name all 80 members if he names the organization they are in. Back in the days of Woodrow Wilson, they called themselves communists but were so unpopular, they changed the name to “Progressives”. It is exactly what they are. Look up the legislative agenda of the CPC. It includes desires for Constitutional Amendments that force wealth redistribution. What the hell else is forced wealth redistribution if NOT communist? Hellllllooooooo….. McFly….. Is there anyone in there????? You leftist freaks hate it when you are called onto the carpet for your views defined as exactly what they are. Sheet…. if Obozo and the DemonRATS were honest about their motives and policies, they’d never get elected outside of leftist freak loony bins like San Fran or NYC. Look no further than that article posted right here in the sewer called “The Memo” last week where that useful idiot suggested changing the phraseology of gun control so more people would support it. It’s what you leftist freaks do.

And certainly, if you accuse me of demonizing Obozo, I stand guilty as charged. But I do have an accomplice…. Obozo himself. He’s a big enough fool and leftist freak clown that he works well with me.

            Merry Christmas, Bill!

“There is all the difference in the world, however, between two kinds of assistance through government that seem superficially similar: first, 90 percent of us agreeing to impose taxes on ourselves in order to help the bottom 10 percent, and second, 80 percent voting to impose taxes on the top 10 percent to help the bottom 10 percent — William Graham Sumner’s famous example of B and C decided what D shall do for A. The first may be wise or unwise, an effective or ineffective way to help the disadvantaged — but it is consistent with belief in both equality of opportunity and liberty. The second seeks equality of outcome and is entirely antithetical to liberty.” – Milton Friedman

    Merry Christmas!

“The man of system . . . is apt to be very wise in his own conceit; and is often so enamoured with the supposed beauty of his own ideal plan of government, that he cannot suffer the smallest deviation from any part of it. He goes on to establish it completely and in all its parts, without any regard either to the great interests or to the strong prejudices which may oppose it. He seems to imagine that he can arrange the different members of a great society with as much ease as the hand arranges the different pieces upon a chess-board. . . .” —Adam Smith, The Theory of Moral Sentiments, 1759

No use replying to Bozo the Idiot. He seems to think that using quotes somehow explain his philosophy but he usually picks quotes by someone who is diametrically opposed to his comments.

Bozo also likes to make wild and unfounded claims that when questioned on he slinks away.

      • ObozoMustGo

More than 30 years ago in high school. What I remember of it is that he felt it wrong that government could be above the laws that they expected the citizens to follow. I think he was against the socialist movement in France also. I can’t really recall much of it, though, to be honest. I am certain that there are lessons to be applied to our world today. Like why politicians are exempt from insder trading laws. Hmmmm

I have to run, Puxy. Going north to grandmas house in a little while. Enjoy your holidays, my friend.

Obama & the Democrats don’t want any Plans, A,B,C all the way to Z. They want more tax increases than spending cuts. How will that solve our debt mess, to just keep spending more and raising the debt ceiling? Maybe IF Obama would state where he would cut spending and MORE than tax increases, or at least equal to tax increases, we could have a legitimate discussion.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/ZJ5BBSQIGTUMERPZFALES6HQNY Bill

President Obama gave Boehner his plan to raise taxes on ONLY those making over 250K a year and their taxes would only increase on the amount 0ver 250K. He has since raise that to 400K. What Boehner proposed raisning taxes on people earning over $1mm and cuts to the child school credit, food stamps and other low income benefits. With all this he couldn’t get his own Republicans to vote for it. He can’t control his people.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/RFEPMKNCBVGJYV2X7LBNDGRUEY William

I hate to give Boehner credit for anything because I’ve never seen him do anything worth while, but anyone with half a brain can see there is no one in charge of the GOP.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Randy-Grein/1038154190 Randy Grein

The President did that last time, and you know what happened. Bohner & crew responded with more social cuts, military increases and no increase. Keep in mind the holdup here is simply allowing the Bush-era tax cuts to expire on the top 1%, bringing their tax rates in line with mine.
As for ‘how we can solve our debt mess’, what do you do when you are sick? Go to a doctor! So we need to listen to economists, but not just any economist. Look for those who have had the best record of prediction. Right at the top you’ll find Paul Krugman. He says there are a couple of important steps we can take:

Reduce military spending. Money for bombs goes up in smoke; it has very little economic benefit. We spend as much as the rest of the world COMBINED! It’s time to cut back on our weapons and stick closer to home. We have enough vets that need serious, longterm care as it is, no need to create more.
Policies that support the middle class. That’s where the biggest economic impact can be had for improving the economy. That means a few things you won’t like, like supporting unions and living wages but these actually provide huge benefits for everyone AND stimulate the economy.
      End corporate offshoring.
Reform the financial markets. It can be done well, but this market needs to be regulated.
Stop calling Republicans the ‘financially responsible’ party when they are the ‘Charge it!’ party. For the past 70 years (or more) republicans at the national level consistently cut taxes and increase spending, resulting in increased debt. Their policies, far from stimulating the economy causes increased unemployment, lower GDP and bigger deficits.
Listen to the best economists who agree that a recession, or even a weak recovery is no time for fiscal restraint. Spend where the economic multiplier is greatest (not military or the rich) and pay for needed infrastructure. Do NOT cut government employment to balance budgets, it’s counterproductive. Wait until the recovery is strong – THEN pay the bills.

There are a few more things that could be done – some alterations to prevent corporate aggregation which leads to inefficient (read: not free) markets, protections to keep consumers and employees on equal footing with business which is also a non free market, but those can be added later.

    • DurdyDawg

He has, many times.. but you’re GOP assholes keep wanting more. More for less, that’s Boner’s battle cry.

I vote ObozoMustGo ‘MUST GO & ACCEPT THE FACT HIS PARTY LOST”. This GOP FAUX NEWS person living in a bubble seems to think he knows all, is right all the time and just quotes from his GOP bible. Time to go, change “it’s” name because of the obvious and write only to the people who care about whatever nonsense “it” spouts!

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/ZJ5BBSQIGTUMERPZFALES6HQNY Bill

      Paula

All that Bozo does it copy a cartoon from some website add a copied quote, often from people who had the total opposite political view from Bozo. Whenever he tries to write something it is usually some nonsense not based on any proveable fact. Here are a couple of his comments

1 – Romney in a landslide, he was right about the landslide wrong about who would have it.
2 – President Obama is the worst president in the last 100 years. The apparent scholar of
American history forgot about Harding, Coolidge, Hoover, Nixon , Ford and W.
3 – Presdient Obama ignored the needs of white people after storm Sandy in areas of NY
like Long Island, Staten Island He is so knowledgeable about the racial makeup of these
areas that make this ridiculous statement (he can’t prove it but he is never isn’t in that)
4 – He claims the Paul Krugman – a Noble Prize economist is an idiot when talking about
economic issues. This from a man who likes to brag about driving his truck over 1,000
      miles in a weekend.
5 – He claims such prowess with a rifle that he shot a deer at 400 yards. I guess he is
      channeling Daniel Boone.
6 – He gets very defensive when questioned why he would need to have a semi-automatic
with a high capacity clip. He protests that he is protecting his liberty.

I could go on with many other of his rantings but why waste time
