Scaramucci Quotes Joe Paterno On ‘Honor And Integrity’

Brand-new White House communications director and human pinky ring Anthony Scaramucci thought it would be a good idea to quote Joe Paterno on the topics of “honor and dignity.” As a reminder, Paterno was fired from Penn State for helping cover up decades of child sexual abuse by Jerry Sandusky. The Mooch—he actually wants to be called that, btw—cited Paterno’s sage, and completely hypocritical words during a phone interview on CNN.

“Why don’t you honor the job?” Scaramucci said to New Day host Chris Cuomo. “Remember Joe Paterno? What would he say? Act like you’ve been there before. Act with honor and dignity and respect and hold the confidence of the presidency and his office.”

Scaramucci called into CNN Thursday after Politico published his financial disclosure form on Wednesday, an act he labeled a “felony” on social media. Politico noted in a followup report that the “documents are publicly available on request.”

Paterno reportedly had knowledge of Sandusky’s serial rape of young boys way back in the mid-1970s. He died in 2012. Sandusky is currently serving a 60-year sentence for his crimes.
