If Trump’s campaign was one long, sustained dog whistle, the message has been received. According to FBI director Christopher Wray, the agency has as many as 1,000 active investigations into violent white supremacists and other domestic terrorists.

Wray’s testimony before Congress Wednesday is at odds with the Trump administration, which has repeatedly downplayed the threat of white nationalism. The president infamously told reporters that some of the Charlottesville marchers were “very good people,” only to see his approval ratings plummet.

Wray’s findings are supported by a wealth of independent data indicating white nationalist terrorist attacks outnumber those committed in the name of Islam by a 2-to-1 margin. The problem, according to Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO), who believes white supremacist terror is “triple” that of Islamic-based terror, is an unwillingness to investigate these incidents.

“We have had zero hearings on the threat of domestic terrorists and the threat they pose and our response to it,” she said during the hearing.

According to a May report, white supremacist groups were responsible for 49 homicides and 26 attacks between 2000 and 2016. The report concludes, “this is more than any other domestic extremist group.”

Wray pointed out that most domestic terror can be prosecuted in other forms, such as “gun charges, explosive charges, all manner of other crimes.” Civil rights advocates, however, see this as a refusal to apply the terrorism label to white men like convicted mass murderer Dylann Roof.

Teflon Donnie’s definition of “good people” – they voted for him.

  2. Trump is just a bit player, although an extremely dangerous one, and is just clever in a predatory manner to take advantage of a dangerous situation that has been building for centuries.
The “Know-Nothings” and the “Bacon Rebellion” was the match that lit a fuse; then the so-called Missouri Compromise along with Andrew Jackson’s role in “The Trail of Tears” atrocity further inflamed the downward spiral, then with the KKK and the rest of the after-effects of slavery, the turmoil presented by this uniquely American brand of terrorism was in full effect. And has been going strong ever since.
The GOP for several decades now has been a leading fire-bug in continuing to fan the flames, in a ceaseless effort to achieve dominance in the political realm. In doing so, it attracts in a natural way those humans who want to solely identify themselves first as “White People”, then in a perfunctory manner seek to deceive others that they are Christians, and have created their own “Gospel” of quasi-Christian mores and some patchwork theology bearing no resemblance to the Message of Jesus.

And in the meantime, the generality of the Clergy have been wrapped up in a strange sleep, unaware of the lapse in their morality, and unaware that over the decades, their silence has emboldened that segment of “whites” who feel that their quasi-religious view of being human is a mandate from God. There is no fiction ever written as strange and bizarre as the script called “White Nationalism—The Birth of a Tormented and Deranged Sub-Culture”.

      One question, Aaron, WWJD?

      • Although I can’t say for certain, but Jesus, like Muhammad, must feel extremely disappointed at how far these so-called adherents have deviated from Their Teachings and admonitions.

Most of Baha’u’llah’s family showed a degree of jealousy because of His rising prestige among both the Baha’is, the Babis of the former Dispensation, and among public officials in both Persia, Iraq, and later in Palestine, and caused Him much sadness, as is recorded by His own Pen. So I would imagine that Jesus is feeling a similar disappointment.

And we should NEVER FORGET the bombing of the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City, in April, 1995, that killed 168 Americans. That one was caused by other White Nationalists; Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols.

tRump is WRONG! These people are ALL traitors to America. The white nationalists, white supremacists, and the kkk are cancers on the American Democracy, and should be treated like any other cancer for the health of our country.

No American man or woman who has had relatives who fought the Nazis during WWII will EVER EVER EVER accept these beer swilling, fat gut, high school drop outs.

My late father-in-law wouldn’t speak about what he saw at the liberation of Dachow. Now, we should allow a bunch of loser punks to roam our streets yelling out KKK racial and anti Semitic slurs while they parade armed with assault weapons as they did in Charlottesville?

Nice how Trump managed to make sure none of those videos were seen. According to Trump the Nazi lover, both sides were wrong? IN Nazi Germany maybe. Not in this country where we do not call NAZIS our friends.

These punks are lazy hick bums who don’t want to work. So they lay around all day in their parents basements and live off their parents SS and Medicare.

The proof of whether or not the Trumps are successful in their efforts to take over America will be the 2018 and 2020 elections. If the Democrats aren’t successful in taking over the presidency and Congress by 2020, then it will be evident that the Republicans have succeeded in taking over the country and imposing their dictatorship.

  6. dpaano says:

It’s unfortunately that many of the neer-do-wells in Trump’s cabinet will stand up and admit to the American public that they are racists! They continue to stand with their president and refuse to see the truth about the white supremacists. They’d rather blame the Muslim immigrants or other immigrants of crimes that just don’t exist or don’t compare to what our own people are doing!
