The oil companies run their own show. Doesn’t matter where the oil comes from. It is one big business. It isn’t America uses only US derived oil. The major problem with gas prices is the SPECULATORS. And the fact that oil companies make/have more money than God. And especially in America..everything is about money

Saf… how did you get this way? HOW? You leftist nutjobs that blame high gas prices on “speculators” show your complete and total lack of understanding of how any market, let alone the oil and gas markets work. Dont you think that there are “speculators” who are betting on the fall of the price of oil just like there are those betting on the increase in the price of oil? Of course there are!

Do you know who/what “speculators” really are? I’ll tell you. A “speculator” is the fuel buyer for a large trucking company who is attempting to make his future fuel costs as stable as possible so as to offer customers predictable, competittive pricing on deliveries for the foreseeable future. They buy and sell futures contracts and play hedges to accomplish this. The same with airlines. Or Fed Ex. Or any other large buyer of gasoline with the same economic interests for predictable costs in the future. That’s what a “speculator” is. And you like it that way, trust me. It actually has the effect of keeping prices at the pump from whipsawing way more than they do now.

Now that I’ve taught you something useful, you can at least get rid of one of your long held and completely emotional and FALSE beliefs that make up your thinking. You are one step closer to sanity and an understanding of the real world today, Saf. Congratulations! We still have a long way to go. I am here to help.

      Have a nice day!
