@LOLGOP’s Tweets Of The Week: #RomneyShambles Edition

Though he is only the presumptive GOP nominee for president, Mitt Romney set an world record for gaffes in his first day in London — including questioning if the country was ready to host the Olympic Games. Conservatives have lambasted President Obama for not nurturing the “special relationship” the United States maintains with the United Kingdom. But at least 60,000 booing Londoners agreed that Romney’s condescending attitude toward our closest ally was not appreciated.

On both sides of the proverbial pond, Twitter users mocked Mitt using a singular hashtag: #RomneyShambles, adapted from the term “omnishambles,” which hails from the BBC sitcom The Thick of It. This show, as you might have guessed, focuses on the blunders of pompous politicians.
