The Six Lamest Excuses For Romney Hiding His Tax Returns

In recent days, a rapidly growing number of Republicans have called on Mitt Romney to cast off the veil of secrecy, and finally release his tax returns. However, a few loyal party members have steadfastly stood by his side, and insisted Romney need not release them.

Here are the six lamest excuses that have been made on Romney’s behalf:

  • The most fascinating part of the tax return issue is that some of the people that support Romney’s decision to keep his tax returns secret are the same ones that demanded that Kerry release his when he ran for President It seems that the main attributes to be a loyal Republican is to be a cynic, with a heavy dose of hypocrisy to boot. Dont’t do as I do, do as I say comes to mind…

    • Tom_D44

Really Dominick? Because that hypocrisy doesn’t live on the left….Right? It’s only a Republican attribute? Just how long did it take Obama to release his birth certificate? He let that whole controversy foster for a year before he finally released something. And how about the college transcripts that that people asked for but have been sealed up? Still not released. You think there is anything in there that could hurt Obama? Probably. It’s not that anyone thinks he’s a criminal, but they will find every little comment he made, paper he wrote, association he belonged to and paint him how they want. And you guys want to do the same thing with Romney.

It’s a catch 22. Ask for them and he doesn’t comply so he’s hiding something criminal. If he complies, you’ll take the information, distort it, exploite it, infuse if with a lot of speculation, and try to tear down the guy with misinformation. Just more politics.

I own a small business and have an accountant do my taxes every year. You would have no idea what my taxes represented each year without any context of what I was doing, what projects were closing and what new things I decided to invest in. It would make no sense at all. In fact, it doesn’t even make any sense to me and I know what I was doing. Now take a man with a thousand times more money than me, and all the things he would invest in on a yearly basis and forget it. This is a pointless argument and is only being politicized to get everyone up in arms about some big scandal that doesn’t actually exist.

  • jarheadgene

Each excuse gets funnier than the next. This guy is BAD News to America. And McConnell, he is a joke, when is Kentucky going to wise up and kick him to the curb?

    • I agree with you and as for Kentucky I wish people would wise up-I live in Kentucky and Mcconnell has done nothing for working people. If you are a business in Lexington, Louisville, he will do whatever it takes to help them but he definitely is against the rest of us.

  • nomaster

There is a time when Willard The Rat Man needs stand up tall and become a man, He needs to owe up to his own deeds or misdeeds. Don’t go aroung blaming the other guy for your perceived shortcomings. If we are legit we need not affraid of the truth.

  • bcarreiro

i thought there were 7: i need to undermine the american people to get the vote

  • you would think by now those gophers would have been booted out of their seats by now. it’s their constituents that keep voting him in.

but think about it. the people of kentucky are intelligent, bright, and progressives? no way! they tend to be dull, and people like McConnell uses fear and unhealthy emotionalism to drive his negative messages to the people of kentucky, and they keep voting for hm. obviously they like him.

    lol, yea, it’s a joke

  • Obama should not be complacent with this election. Mittens and his company are doing everything they can to unseat Obama. there is so much hatred in the air, it’s sickening.

My feeling with Robme is there is a lot more he is trying to keep secrets. I wonder how many ladies Mittens has hiding under rocks somewhere? I know there is bad news there, and it would drive the final nail his mitten’s coffin, and hopefully the gophers and pollyannas of the tea party.

  • 2hheels2

Mitt is a spoiled little rich boy. This is the same tactic he used when campaigning in Mass. It worked then and he just thought it would work again. Obama and his team saw what we didn’t long ago. The thing that gets me is the Hatred of the Right. In all of my years I have never seen anything like Fox and the way everything is turned around. When did all integrity go out of the network news. It is time we call a lie a lie.

  • ObozoMustGo

Romney should release his tax returns when Obozo releases his full academic records and history!

    Have a nice day!

    • jarheadgene

Who cares what The President’s school records say, Bush was a C student. ROMoNEY’s refusals to release tax returns speaks to his anti-support of the U.S. Paying your fair share in taxes pays for our Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines and Coast Guard. But then again like Limblah….blah…blah. Willard was a draft dodger during Vietnam so why would he want to pay taxes to support our National Defense, it appears he believes that should be on the Middle Classes dime and them and their sons and daughters to serve. Not the silver spoon brats like him.

      • ObozoMustGo

What’s Obozo hiding in his academic records, Gene? That he’s always believed in and supported Marxist and revolutionary philosophies? Only those of us who know for a fact that he was mentored by Frank Marshall Davis know this about him. Did you read Obozo’s book? Have you wondered why this guy he refers to as “Frank” doesn’t have a last name in the book,? But the Obozo sycophants in the ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, HLN, MSLSD world would NEVER tell people the truth about that, would they? This is why Obozo is hiding his academic records.

Romney should refuse to release any more financial info until Obozo releases his FULL academic records.

        Have a nice day!

        • metrognome3830

Oh, c’mon, OMG. There is no conspiracy to keep Frank Marshall Davis’ name a secret. Hell, even I know about him. And I know that some people — some of those “knowledgable” righties, also believe that Frank Davis was Obama’s real father. But, that theory, of course, would spoil their “birther” conspiracy theory since Davis was an American. And certainly not the only American to espouse Socialism. And all socialist ideas are not automatically Marxism. And you know it.

          Have a nice day!

          • ObozoMustGo

I still think that the man from the British Authority of East Africa (I think that’s what it was before it became Kenya in 1963) was the sire. What we do know about Obozo’s mother was that she’s seen more cock than a NYC men’s restroom in Grand Central Station! Who the hell know’s who sired Obozo for real? You cannot believe a single word that comes from Obozo’s mouth about his past. He has been caught making up so many stories that nothing from his mouth can be trusted. Nothing. But it doesnt matter. What does matter is the disaster that he has been for America and throwing him out of office. And hopefully in jail where he belongs!

And while there may be some differences between socialist ideas and Marxism, there’s not a lot of them. Both start at the same core emotions of jealousy and envy. It’s a distinction not really worth discussing.

            Have a nice day!

          • metrognome3830

“You cannot believe a single word that comes from Obozo’s mouth.”

On today’s political scene, that qualifies as a ringing endorsement!

If you were to make a list of all the politicians you could trust it would be a very short list. “Trust me” ranks right up there with “Hope & Change.”

That list of honest politicians would be much shorter than the list you published about the reasons for being a Democrat. In fact, it would probably never reach #1.

            Have a nice day!

          • jarheadgene

Wow….did you know his mother?….or is this vile racism on your part…like, “She slept with a black man so she must be a slut.” Wow OMG…you are sinking to an all new low. KKK low.

          • ObozoMustGo

One more thing…. FMD was a vile piece of crap and as anti-American as it gets. A hardcore committed communist. He’s the one that taught Obozo. Much of Obozo’s rhetoric comes straight from FMD and his writings, articles, interviews, speeches, etc. For example, “Fundamental Transformation of America” and “Hope & Change” are phrases that FMD first uttered, not Obozo. There are tons of other ones also.

If you want to know a man, look at the man who raised him and who he keeps as friends. Obozo’s mentor “Frank” and everyone around him have been radical leftists and some of them revolutionaries. And you guys that have been life long Democrats dont even recognize that your party has been hijacked by radical, anti-American socialists. It’s like you’re all drugged with Obozo’s cult like personality. It’s actually quite sad. You should wake up, open your eyes and begin to think.

            Have a nice day!

          • metrognome3830

Well, you’re wrong about a couple of things, OMG. First, I am not a life-long Democrat. Up to the 60s, I didn’t claim any party affiliation. Then I voted for JFK. And as the Republican party began their rightward drift, I stayed with the Democrats. But then I voted for Nixon. Something I shall always regret. Then I voted Democratic again and will continue to do so until the Republicans can come up with a viable candidate or a realistic third party appears on the scene. As I’ve told you before, I am not exactly in awe of Obama.

Secondly, espousing alternatives or modifications to Capitalism is not anti-American. It is well within our rights to do so. Preaching the violent overthrow of the government is treason. There is going to have to be some transformation of America, OMG, because things are getting way off the track. We don’t have the right balance anymore. We are not a democratic society at this stage, we are moving strongly toward a plutocratic society. “Hope & Change” and “Transformation” are not dangerous or treasonous words. They are more likely futile words, impotent words, but not dangerous. I believe my eyes are wide open. And I’m not encouraged by what I see.

            Have a nice day!

          • ObozoMustGo

We have followed the same path, in different directions. Up through college and a little beyond, I was liberal. Then as I grew up and learned about the world, I realized that I did not live my life personally nor did I make decisions for MY life as a liberal. I actually made conservative, rational decisions about my marriage, my career, my investments, my purchases, how I felt children should be raised, and a whole host of other areas of life. That’s when it hit me. That’s when I realized that my liberalism was really just a fantasy about how I thought everyone else must be. Liberalism involves foisting my beliefs on others. Once I realized this, there was no turning back.

You are right to not like what you see. Most Americans have a sense that “something is wrong”, but it’s hard to put your finger on exactly. The traditional R & D parties like us to be at each other’s throats over silly stuff while they each conspired to enrich themselves through corruption and graft. Corrupt ties to business and unions with backroom dealings that result in robbing the taxpayers.

All the while this was going on, we normal working conservative Americans got up each day and went to work, came home, coached Little League, ate dinner, watched the news and went to bed to start all over again the next day. The radicals from the 60’s slowly have taken over the DemocRATic party and have eschewed private business and honest work while they have been busily taking over education, the legal system, local, and state governments, and federal bureaucracies. They are naturally more politically active than us normal people who are inclined to choose to live our lives in peace and quiet.

And at this point, the election of Obozo has proven to us that our once free republic is NOT guaranteed to remain as we had for so long taken for granted. And in fact, knowing Obozo and his background and then watching his moves and the people he surrounds himself with, it is quite clear that he and his ilk have every intention of “fundamentally transforming America” exactly as he said. This realization is where the Tea Party originated. More and more people are waking up to this fact. More and more people are actually reading The Constitution and The Federalist Papers. And contrary to you guys on the left, the Tea Party is 100% grassroots. There are no leaders, there is no coordinated agendas. There is no funding from the Koch brothers or anyone else. It’s mostly just a bunch of people that were never politically active reacting to the realization that our country is in serious peril and is being run by a guy with more in common with Fidel Castro than George Washington! It’s true. Listen to his speeches when he goes off prompter. His central belief is in government centralized power and control… exactly the opposite of our founder’s vision and purpose. This man, combine with a national debt soaring out of control, is terrifying to most Americans. He must be thrown out.

Since you tend to be much more open minded, Metro, you should read a couple of books. David Mamet’s “The Secret Knowlege” is awesome. David Horowitz’s “Radical Son” is equally good. I think you’ll enjoy Mamet’s book first because it’s actually very funny! Horowitz is a former 60’s radical revolutionary that woke up. Both guys are absolutely brilliant. You will like the books. I promise.

I gotta run, Metro. I’ll try to catch up with you tomorrow.

Have a great evening! Say hello to Mrs. Metro for me!

          • metrognome3830

Thanks for the recommendations on the books. I am, of course, familiar with both men, but I have not read either of those books.

As far as the Koch Brothers funding Tea Party activities, I believe the connection is through Dick Armey and not all them Tea Party folks is jus’ good ‘ol true blue Amurricans, either.

Have a great evening and give my regards to Mrs. OMG!

          • ObozoMustGo

Metro… You are welcome for the recs. They are both fantastic books written by 2 extremely brilliant men.

The Koch brothers are free to donate to Freedom Works or any other organization they so desire. Just like Soros, the Ford Foundation, the Annenburg Foundation, and ll the other far left socialists and one-worlders that fund leftist causes.

For facts on who really has the money, the right or the left, I would recommend David Horowitz’s new book “The New Leviathan” which details how the left has combined nearly one trillion dollars behind it, while the total of the right leaning organizations is barely at one hundred billion. Go to Amazon and read the summary. Read some of the reviews.

I am telling you, Metro, the Democratic party that y0u knew from long ago and felt was the “working man’s” party, IS NOT anything close to what it was. The entire party has been taken over by the far left. This is what is unsettling to you, but you cant really describe it. By the way, dont think that I give a pass to the Repubs. I don’t. They have been complicit in graft and corruption almost as much as the Dems, with minor exceptions, to get along and go along while the Dem party was slowly being swallowed up by the radical socialists. This is true. This is how we got Obozo.

I do alot of reading, my friend. These Obozo people are hell bent on transforming America into their socialist vision of centralized control over all economic resources and virtually every aspect of the lives of every American. I’m not so sure there is evil intent in what they are doing so much as their views and beliefs lead them to conclude that America is not a “fair” place and it’s their duty to make everyone “equal” according to their dictates. The problem is that history teaches us that this sort of process ALWAYS goes bad.

I gotta run. I hope you are well. Have a great day!

          • metrognome3830

OMG, no one says the Koch brothers can’t donate to anything they want to. Or anyone else, for that matter. The problem is what they want in return. I see the Koch Brothers as wanting nothing less than an all-out Plutocracy. You see George Soros, et. al. as far left socialists. You may be right about the Democratic party. Or at least the far left of the party. But I believe I am right about the far right of the Republican party, which includes the Koch Brothers, Dick Cheney, et. al. They are not the Republican party of long ago, either. I will read David Horowitz’s book, but I will tell you, he is going to have to prove to me that there is that huge imbalance in dollars. Of course, that could be because there are more Democrats than Republicans. Look, OMG, you need to get over the notion that all Democrats want nothing more than to take all the money away from all the rich people. That is not what most of the people want. That is what right-wing Republicans tell you the Democrats or any non-Republican wants.

As for numbers, both sides like to play with numbers. As the old saying goes, “Figures lie, and liars figure.

You see, OMG, I frankly don’t give a damn how rich Romney is. And he sure doesn’t give a damn how poor I am. If he doesn’t want to publicize his tax returns, I’m OK with that. I wouldn’t believe that he was being entirely honest about them anyway. Totally meaningless. Ranks right up there with the Birther witch hunters. There is a big difference, OMG, between being “fair” and being “equal.” Fewer people than you might think, have no interest in being on equaly financial footing with Mitt Romney. Throwing the word “equal” into the argument is a not-so-sly trick of semantics. Making it sound as though asking for fairness is asking to be equal. And I know you are smart enough to know that. I say,” Go ahead and refuse to show your tax returns. You have that right. It’s not a legal requirement.” If he can pull it off and still get elected then that’s what the voters want. If he ends up losing the election over it, well, that’s how it goes. The choice is Mitt’s and I don’t care what he does. The people who post comments here do not represent all non-Republicans or all middle-class or blue-collar thinking. Only their own. And some of it is truly cringe-worthy. From both sides.

        • jarheadgene

Frank Marshall Davis……you must be kidding…he Died over 35 years ago. He was born in 1905, as a black man in America. Do you know what that made him? One step above a slave, and only because 40 years prior a war had just outlawed it. And it would still be another 60 years before legislation….a LITTLE thing called THE CIVIL RIGHTS, you may have heard of it, would be signed into effect. I can admire Mohammed Ali for going to jail voluntarily because he refused the draft. As he put it, I’ll paraphrase, “Why should I go kill yellow men in Viet Nam? None of them every called me Nigger.” But I also have room for understanding Davis’ issues with our country and it’s lopsided democracy through most of his life. Lynching Niggers was quite acceptable through most Southern states, most of his life. But let’s move on from there. The President refers to him as Frank because he was a friend of his grandfather’s, but was he his MENTOR ….only if you believe the garbage written by the idiot Jerome Corsi, who Limblah…blah…blah, and other have cited as their new hero. Must we return to McCarthyism….LOOK OUT FOR HIDDEN COMMIES EVERYWHERE…………Look out …BOOH. Give me a break, I thought you were smarter than to be a Limblah..blah..blah or Hanitty hand puppet. They probably didn’t even read Corsi but they will quote and misquote him like he wrote one of the gospels. As for Ali, or as my dad still refers to him, Cassius Clay, he is braver than Limblah…blah…blah and ROMoNEY, who were both draft-dodgers during Viet Nam….But they would be quick to send your kids or my son to fight in Iran. Typical Republican ‘ BS…talk tough from Chicken Hawks.

          • ObozoMustGo

Gene… FMD died in 1987, 25 years ago, and is referred to in Obozo’s own book 33 different times and is called by Obozo “his mentor”. FMD was a radical revolutionary socialist and card carrying member of the Communist Party. It is indisputable that FMD had significant influence on Obozo.

This is not a conspiracy theory. It’s just a window into what the real Obozo actually believes and what he is doing in office. He was completely hidden and NEVER vetted by the ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, HLN, MSLSD, NY Slimes, Washington Compost, etc. etc. Everything about the guy was a mystery, except to some of us. But I can assure you that in the last election, millions of people who voted for Obozo had no clue about a single thing about the man, much less even who his VP choice was. But I can assure you that those same people incorrectly knew that Sarah Palin said “I can see Russia from my house”, which she didn’t. This is hard proof that the media is in the tank for the guy. Remember “JournoList”? The back channel secured blog of “news” writers and TV reporters that was coordinating the narrative in Obozo’s favor and against McCain in the last election? You probably dont because they dont talk about that stuff on MSLSD. But it’s true.

And, uhhhh, Gene… ummmmm…. you do know that the DemocRATS were the party that opposed the Civil Rights Act, don’t you? You do know that more Republicans suppported it than DemocRATS, don’t you? You are aware of those little facts, like Abraham Lincoln was a Republican, right?

            Have a nice day!

          • jarheadgene

You missed my point. Sorry I was off by 10yrs on Davis’ death but I can understand his choices. I don’t really care, Davis is a moot point for today’s times. I feel a little slighted by your skewed history lesson on civil rights. I am very aware Lincoln was a Republican, as was John Brown. And Teddy Roosevelt was a Republican he worked to stop Peonage as he hated it and the lynchings in the south. And he worked to break up monopolies to prevent price gouging and everything that goes with the problem of monopolies. But then you have Herbert Hoover…..the GW Bush of his day. Where Greed was the G in GOP and it lead to a worldwide depression. By the time you get to Lyndon Johnson things had changed. I am very familiar with him as I was born in Texas and he started out a school teacher. He used to teach underprivledged Mexican-American kids and his heart leaned toward correcting the injustices of racial prejudices. It was the single item he and Kennedy agreed upon. He, YES a Democratic President pushed forced and used his many years of influence in Congress to bring about the Civil Rights Bill. When he did that, he even stated, “I just gave away the south to the Republican Party.” Where racism would flourish ….to this day. More important to him than party politics was his legacy of civil rights. TODAY what should have been MORE important than PARTY POLITICS to the likes of Mitch McConnell, Reid, Boehner and alike and their fillibustering and stalling and their dislike of a black man in office, should have been the AMERICAN people and jobs. The GOP is now a joke, such a joke that their best candidate is ROMoNEY, the etch a sketch man. Greed Over People. Saint Paul said, “…the LOVE of MONEY is the root of ALL evil.” RObME may not know that as he holds more value in the book of mormon. Those dems that opposed civil rights are long gone….that is a republican thing now.

          • ObozoMustGo

Gene… LBJ was a serious racist. That is a fact. He hated blacks his whole life and everyone of the day knew it. He even voted against Civil Rights while he was in the Congress. The only reason he supported Civil Rights was political. That he felt that he could convert the black vote, which was almost exclusively Republican since the Civil War, to the Democratic party. He also pushed the “Great Society Wrecking Programs” because he knew he could permanently lock in the black vote for DemocRATS by getting them hooked on government entitlements. He was right! Witness the state of the black family, or what’s left of it, in America.

And this bullsheet that you and the other leftist nutjobs on here cry about people who disagree with Obozo are racists is absolutely DEAD WRONG! You useful idiots on the left throw the race card out when you know you have nothing left to say. Too bad, it’s not working. No one I know gives a damn about skin color. We keep wondering why you guys on the left do. For me and everyone I know, it’s about the content of a man’s character, not the color of his skin. Too bad for the knuckleheads on the left, skin color IS important.

I saw a bumber sticker that was funny. It said: “I’m not racist. I hate his white half too!”

            Have a nice day!

          • jarheadgene

For a serious racists…he sure did a lot to help out the black population of this country. Appointed Marshall to the Supreme Court. Had personal conversations with MLK Jr. re Civil Rights and the right to vote w/out Jim Crow laws, If that is a racist, I’ll take him over the current pious GOP now, who have initiated their own version of Jim Crow laws across many states. Black people hooked on entitlements….next you’ll use the Gingrich code of
“Food Stamp Collectors” 54% of Food stamp collectors are WHITE in this country. Your racism is showing. I am not a leftist….I am a centrist. I was a voting Republican from 18 to 48 but GW and Cheney made me dislike the GOP….Bachman…Reid…Boehner…McConnell..
Santorum…etc…adnauseum. Don’t get me wrong, I was never a big fan of Frank or Kennedy
or the Clintons. And yet, I really like McCain …Voted for him. If I really wanted to play the race card I would HATE ALL you IMMIGRANTS….YES IMMIGRANTS. My Grandfather was a Full Blooded Native America who married a Spanish Immigrant. On my Dad’s side. On my Mom’s side her mother’s side were Native American’s but my Grandmother married a Mexican Immigrant. So I guess that makes me the product of some Immigrants as well. But like President Obama I was born in this country….fyi Hawaii is a state in the U.S.
Alaska is also a state added to the U.S. Post WWII, but NO ONE….NO ONE asked to see Palin’s Birth Certificate. When George Romney ran for President…..NO ONE made a big deal about his birth certificate….EVEN THOUGH HE WAS BORN IN MEXICO. But he was WHITE… if skin color doesn’t matter, what say you to the “BIRTHERS”. You are kidding yourself if you think skin doesn’t matter to anyone you know. Also nice of you to borrow that last line from MLK Jr. because when it comes to content of character….the President has that one HANDs DOWN……Have a nice night.

    • metrognome3830

Did Romney release his full academic records and history?

Well, I guess we do know about his skills as a tonsorial artist. But he didn’t go to a barber school, did he?

      Have a nice day!

      • ObozoMustGo

Can you imagine Romney and Obozo doing a duet? Uggghhhhhhhhhh… sorry for planting the thought, Metro! 🙁

        Have a nice day!

        • metrognome3830

Well, I wouldn’t advise Obozo to give up his day job, but he can sing slightly better than Romney.

But you DO want Obozo to give up his day job, don’t you?

Well, I just hope Mittens doesn’t decide to sing at his “coronation.” It could end in an instant recall.

          Have a nice day!

          • ObozoMustGo

It’s all in the name…. Obozo Must Go! For America’s sake, he’s gotta go.

And yes, if Mitt sings, I will lead the recall efforts!!!!!

            See you my friend!

        • metrognome3830

I’m going to lunch now. I hope I still have an appetite after that vision. :-<

          • ObozoMustGo

            Sorry, Metro! 🙁

  • olafaux

    This is our take:
Folks? What we found is this. If Mitt were to come clean with them TAX RETURNS, it would have like using the bathroom, for not having for a week. NOW! If Mitt takes this CONSTIPATED bowels to the DEBATES? Standing toe TO toe with a PREZ? The likes of “THIS”? MAN? DISGRACEFUL! There is something ’bout Harvard Law School Graduate, with an OBAMA record. A Constitutional Attorney. Unless you are SMARTER than God Almighty? Don’t even venture to DEBATE ’em. They will make U look so SILLY & STUPID, You will CRY. Amen!
    God bless the Prez!

When your family or friends cannot explain why they voted for a Democrat, give them this list.

    1. I voted for a Democrat because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t.

    2. I voted for a Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

    3. I voted for a Democrat because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

    4. I voted for a Democrat because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers, rapists, thugs, and thieves.

    5. I voted for a Democrat because I believe that people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will disappear in ten years because of Global Warming if I don’t start driving a Prius or a Chevy Volt.

    6. I voted for a Democrat because I’m not concerned about millions of babies being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

    7. I voted for a Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits.

    8. I voted for a Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit.

    9. I voted for a Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution regularly to suit some fringe folks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

    10. I voted for a Democrat because I think that it’s better to pay billions to people who hate us for their oil, but not drill for our own because it might upset some useless endangered beetle, gopher, or fish.

    11. I voted for a Democrat because while we live in the greatest, most wonderful country in the world, I was promised “HOPE AND CHANGE.”

    12. I voted for a Democrat because my head is so firmly buried in the sand that it’s unlikely that I’ll ever have another point of view.

      Gary DeMar sounds infantile.

I can see why you don’t want to claim authorship of that list.

It certainly does have a certain accuracy to it, though, doesn’t it?

  • Romney’s efforts to push the “chain” so to speak, are futile, He really needs to focus his efforts on doing what everyone else would be expected do with a chain…That is to “Pull it”.

It amazes me…to read and hear how he chooses and continues his same “Tactics”…!

My amazement though, is changing by the “Minute”, one can only give benifit of the “Doubt” for so long… so I’ll continue to read on for now!

President Obama has given Mr. Romney the perfect escape from this controversy. The law gives any taxpayer authority about whether or when to release his tax returns to the public. Mr. Romney is thus made, by law, the executive in this matter.
All he has to do is follow the President’s example and claim executive privilege.

Mitt Romney is very rich and a Mormon High Priest so we just need to trust him without question. Do not request any more information on his tax returns, Bain Capital or his offshore accounts. Those are personal and you working class losers wouldn’t understand them anyway. The great VP Dick Cheney is strongly endorsing him and raising funds for Mitt. Honest Mitt Romney will return us to the glory days of Bush-Cheney. The time of the prophecy of Joseph Smith is upon us as Mitt will take office. In the name of our Lord and Savior Joseph Smith let us all say Amen. Mitt will attack Iran his first week of office and we can pay for the invasion with the oil we secure from their Country. We must spread Capitalism thoughout the earth and we also deserve that oil. Romney 2012!

  • Haley Barbour believes it will never be enough because he enjoys pretending that he and the tea-baggers are normal, therefore since they will never accept the fact that Obama is a U.S. citizen, he expects the progressives to never accept Romney as an “honest” businessman.

  • Fault of the repubs and Romney, They want to see everyone elses papers ( especially a birth certificate ) but don’t want to show their papers. Sneaky look out!

  • karinursula

What bothers me the most is, that Romney seems to believe, that all the American people are stupid.

  • The feeblest attempt to distance himself from a draconian business record and, potentially, tax evasion is Romney’s decision to put his overseas investments in a blind trust on his wife’s name. I guess he concluded that if somebody has to serve time, his wife is better qualified to do that than himself. What a guy! The GOP could not have nominated a more idiotic, deceiving, and cowardly man than Romney. He has earned the W award for deceit and Goebbellian misinformation.

  • The interesting things that Romney doesn’t want folks to know is that he got tax credits for his horses, and who he supports. Maybe he’s afraid that showing his taxes will reveal that he gives millions of dollars a year to the Mormons, or he supports places that, while he claims he anti-abortion, the companies benefit from abortion. Or even that he gives to PBS which is such a cardinal sin for the far right that it could disqualify him. He is hiding what he supports with his money which is different than what he is saying now. So how could he explain investment in companies that benefit from abortion? How could explain supporting PBS and other arts when he calls for dismantling them? How could explain taking tax credits for horses, and other pets but NOT wanting to pay his fair share of taxes so kids could eat? Rather than get exposed in another lie, just don’t release them.

I, for one would like to know how much money went to Switzerland and the Caymans and how it got reported on his tax returns.

  • Just having to defend Romney is forcing many republicans to act like overzealous buffoons. Republican lying is contagious.

  • Maybe I am being too critical as I read Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison statement when she said “If you take his charitable contributions and his taxes, it is way more than what most people pay in taxes—surely more than 40%.” In a way, she is right. I bet Romney does pay more in taxes than most people in straight dollars, but as a pecentage of total income that claim doesn’t ring true. I don’t think she has a firm grasp of percentages if she thinks that 40% is more than most. Most would be 51%, and way more than 51% would be way more than 51% and certainly way way more than 40%.
