  1. “CAUTION: SCAM ARTIST AT WORK — SEEK ALTERNATE ROUTE”.
Thus do we find Donald already gaily engaged in his favorite past-time. Except now, he’s plying his trade with federal approval as the President-Elect. What merriment he’ll have at our expense. Unfortunately, there appears to be no alternate routes for now.

The very weaknesses and “swampy conditions” Trump has often cited, he himself participated and wallowed in, and took full advantage of to grow his businesses and reap vast fortunes in the process. Now that his narcissism impelled him to reach higher, like some modern-day Icarus, he found it convenient to rail against the very Establishment institutions that allowed him to prosper in order to con hapless and witless voters to fall for his slights-of-hand magic tricks.

Hopefully, he’ll be cast back down to a role of just glitz and tinsel everyday con man.

If there is such a thing as evil he is it. I honestly do not believe he can differentiate between what is real and what is not.

      • Sand_Cat says:

The people who supported him and the people he has appointed so far make him look good.

        • Mama Bear says:

I haven’t the slightest clue what you are saying, Sand… Do you mean they are so bad by comparison he looks good? Or are you saying he is brilliant for who he has selected?

          • Dan S says:

I think I understand what he means. Trump is hiring people that are clearly not qualified for the job they’re being hired for. I mean Dr. Ben Carson a neurosurgeon for HUD ? That appointment makes no sense so yes in comparison Trump doesn’t look quite as bad. His whole administration from the snakehead down is very corrupt all the same

        Evil?

Trump is a glorified salesman. He’ll do anything, say anything to make the sale. Everything he sells is the greatest, best, fantastic. He belittles other salesmen as Crooked, Lyin, Little, Weak. The real value of his products is irrelevant as his stake is only in making the sale. The products themselves may be irrelevant, as long as he makes the sale.

This doesn’t obviate your diagnosis of NPD. It’s just that I don’t have my D. Psych. I do know salesmen. And Trump is a salesman.

Regrettably the right 46% bought in at the worst possible time.

        But existential evil?

        • Mama Bear says:

For the record, NPD is not my diagnosis. You can find numerous references to MD’s and PhD’s making that diagnosis. I reported it, did not postulate it other than to say that I have know intimately an NPD and the behaviour is textbook – anecdotal on my part. As to evil – we all see different sides, and perhaps different depths of a coin. I have know evil, I have been in it’s presence, I have experienced it first hand. I see what I see. As time goes on it might become more obvious to you too…it might not. I have also known and worked with many salesmen and I do not paint them with the same brush you do. Some, yes.

      • Your question is more interesting than one would ordinarily imagine, and reminds me of a response on this subject that was posed to Abdu’l Baha by an American Baha’i named Laura Dreyfus-Barney who traveled to visit him while he stayed in what was then called Palestine. This was bout the time of the turn of the 20th Century and she had a list of questions which were astonishing in scope and displayed a deep and keen insight. The responses to her questions are compiled in a book entitled “Some Answered Questions” which you can order through Amazon or purchase at the Book Store at the Baha’i House of Worship in Wilmette.
One question dealt with “Evil”, and the response Abdu’l Baha gave not only framed the concept in a unique manner, but he expanded on it to talk about other qualities. As for “evil”, he describes it as not a quality in its own right, but rather the ABSENCE of good which is a real quality. He goes on to say that God does not create negative qualities. Likewise, in the phenomenal world, “darkness” is simply the absence of “light”, “cold” is the absence of “heat”; in the abstract realm, “ignorance” is the absence of “knowledge”; as for emotions, “hate” the absence of “love”. Hate and ignorance can be felt and manifested, but they stem from an “absence” of a positive(real) quality.
Sorry for being so wordy—Better to refer to Abdu’l Baha’s explanations than mine.

Thank you Aaron….I always appreciate your perspective and wisdom. I will find this book on Amazon and thanks for this recommendation too. And…a rose by any other name is still a rose:)

It is always better to believe union leader over the President-elect of the United States. Did anyone ever ask if the 1100 jobs saved were all union jobs? Maybe it was 730 union jobs and 370 non-union jobs.

    • Zengo says:

and maybe some were elves and some were dwarves

    • johninPCFL says:

Maybe you forgot the original job total was 2200, and that Agent Orange was going to save them by threatening Carrier with a 35% import tax.
Then it became 1100 purchased by the Indiana taxpayers using Mike Pence’s committee using $7 million. Now it’s 730 bought until sometime next year for the $7 million, but it’s OK that they’re closing another factory and killing 700 jobs there anyway.

Just admit you got played by Putin’s puppet.

      • Zengo says:

and carrier is investing in automating the US plant, using that taxpayer money, which will, in the end, cut the human jobs

      • itsfun says:

He is not Putins puppet or Putins anything. In fact the two have never met. Only numbers I ever read were 1400 total jobs and 1000 saved with 400 still going to Mexico. The tax break is over ten years. No one is saying it is only 730 jobs except a union guy. It may be 730 union jobs, but how many non-unions jobs were saved. How has the stock market been doing since Trump got elected?

        • johninPCFL says:

Putin hacked the vote to get him elected, he’s Putin’s puppet.
From your twin troll Informed, 2400 jobs total, 300 R&D were to stay, 2100 to leave. Now 1300 to leave, so 800 to stay.
Of course, that doesn’t include the 700 being lost next year when they close THE OTHER PLANT, just like I posted.

$7 million spent, and no jobs saved.

          • itsfun says:

Bullsh_t Putin didn’t hack anything, you are just a whining liberal that lost. President Trump get use to it. How has the stock market been doing. Carrier says it is 1100 jobs he saved. If you know more than Carrier, maybe you should be running the company. What about the Japanese gentleman that just promised 50000 jobs in the US after meeting with President-elect Trump. Mr Trump hasn’t even been in office yet, and has already saved jobs and is bringing jobs here. The stock market is setting new records every day because of him.

  3. Wrily says:

If the deal Donald struck with Carrier is an example of his skills as a negotiator, I’d say he’s a real pu$$y. Watch for him to grab himself any moment now.
