No, John Oliver is not ready to salute as “president-elect” the same man he mocked relentlessly this year as “Donald Drumpf,” and he explains in scorching detail why this bizarre election demands a not-so-normal response. Nor is Oliver quite down with the “give Trump a chance” cliché that now dominates mainstream television. Why give a chance to a man whose campaign promises resemble a list posted on Satan’s refrigerator? (He has a few choice words for the year 2016, too.)
