Trump Officials Order EPA To Remove Climate Page From Agency Website

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration has instructed the Environmental Protection Agency to remove the climate change page from its website, two agency employees told Reuters, the latest move by the newly minted leadership to erase ex-President Barack Obama’s climate change initiatives.

The employees were notified by EPA officials on Tuesday that the administration had instructed EPA’s communications team to remove the website’s climate change page, which contains links to scientific global warming research, as well as detailed data on emissions. The page could go down as early as Wednesday, the sources said.

“If the website goes dark, years of work we have done on climate change will disappear,” one of the EPA staffers told Reuters, who added some employees were scrambling to save some of the information housed on the website, or convince the Trump administration to preserve parts of it.

The sources asked not to be named because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

A Trump administration official did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The order comes as Trump’s administration has moved to curb the flow of information from several government agencies who oversee environmental issues since last week, in actions that appeared designed to tighten control and discourage dissenting views.

The moves have reinforced concerns that Trump, a climate change doubter, could seek to sideline scientific research showing that carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels contributes to global warming, as well as the career staffers at the agencies that conduct much of this research.

Climate science denier Myron Ebell, who helped guide the EPA’s transition after Trump was elected in November until he was sworn in last week, said the move was not surprising.

“My guess is the web pages will be taken down, but the links and information will be available,” he said.

The page includes links to the EPA’s inventory of greenhouse gas emissions, which contains emissions data from individual industrial facilities as well as the multiagency Climate Change Indicators report, which describes trends related to the causes and effects of climate change.

The Trump administration’s recently appointed team to guide the post-Obama transition has drawn heavily from the energy industry lobby and pro-drilling think tanks, according to a list of the newly introduced 10-member team.

Trump appointed Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, a longtime foe of the EPA who has led 14 lawsuits against it, as the agency’s administrator. The Senate environment committee held a tense seven-hour confirmation hearing for Pruitt last week. No vote on his nomination has been scheduled yet.

Trump may not be a luddite as far as using the internet and making money for himself in style—-but he is a LUDDITE in caps, when it comes to understanding Science and Religion, and how the two are in harmony by complementing each other. By this concerted and systematic effort to destroy data concerning the impact humans have done, and are doing, to the earth and it’s ecosystem, Donald shows a hostility towards science that mirrors the Republican war on science, and in so doing he is making a war on Religion, since Religion and Science are in harmony—one of the fundamental themes put forth by Baha’u’llah. Not that science and religion have all of a sudden since 1863 become in harmony, but that humanity has reached a stage of maturity to apprehend this reality. Unfortunately, Trump, the GOP, and its base, are still in the Neolithic/Paleolithic stage, and can’t seem to achieve the same spiritual/mental capacity as others in the world have.

This is why NASA and the EPA went ballistic over the past two months and uploaded every climate related document in their servers to academic and Canadian government servers. This way, the truth cannot be deleted.

When will they change the name of the EPA to the EDA (Environmental Destruction Agency)?

Just download everything on the CDs and send them to the Library of Congress for safe keeping and availability to the public. Or, transfer them to selected University servers.

What’s scary about this is the shutdown of vital information to the American people. Someone has to stop his censorship of information! This is what dictators do!

The Republicans own this. If we do not take down the Republican Party now, their belief that they are the most powerful entity in this country will have infants being born deformed, toddlers suffering chemical brain damage and the elderly dying of unnecessary poisoning from air, water and soil pollution.

But then, that IS what these Republicans are after…”reducing the surplus population.” As Charles Dickens once wrote.

Unfortunately, those the deem “the surplus population” are the ones most likely to vote for them! The poor, the undereducated, the unemployed, the ones with a high Tattoo-to-teeth ratio, etc.

Trump already has the Governor of CA at this throat. The surplus population doesn’t get to make the rules for us. We cannot afford the luxury of for a single second allowing ourselves to be hostages of mentally defective right wingers.

When Trump went after what he calls the “sanctuary cities,” he proves how mentally defective he is. He lives in a sanctuary city. Now, the Mayors of these Cities are all flipping the bird at him and his “radical extremist” ideas immigration.

This dirty evil vile SOB hired 4400 immigrants at the Taj Mahal Casino and his casino on the Marina here in NJ. He also didn’t pay them their last wages. So now Mr. Spiteful Mental Case, is going to get even with them for that lawsuit. Same with the Muslims he allowed to be his high rollers whom he knowingly allowed to launder money to terrorists in the Taj Mahal. Everyone here in NJ knew what he was doing. He was warned 3 times in ten years about it and as always Mr. Mental Case decided “No one tells me how to run my business.”

See the same attitude toward “We should take Iraqi Oil?” What he wants he just takes. In his alternate fact world, that isn’t stealing.

It is not censorship. Unless you agree that the last Administration was guilty as well. Because they muzzled agencies in the beginning also.

This is removing a single portal, if you will. There are still others as well as the individual sites with the data.

Frankly, some of these Govt. sites were getting awfully close to advertising political view points. There are laws preventing Govt. from using propaganda vs. publishing factual information.

You have Trump’s disease for making crap up, and so you’re a faithful servant of Trump.
And don’t you worry about how others respond to me—you know, you like to pick and choose what fits your narrative while ignoring that which shows you’re wrong. Another Trump trait.

As to me being “wrong”, I suspect that my accuracy rate is north of 99%, With you fake religion tainting your mind, your accuracy rate has to be less than 50%.
Perhaps you should be lighting more candles or bowing to your false gods more deeply. You know, like Obozo did with foreign leaders. Boy those photos really got lots of negative press overseas. The US president bowing to kings of money!
You’ll NEVER see President Trump bowing to false gods like Obozo did.

First of all, this just proves how utterly stupid the HUMP is. Every one of the 50 states has the right to exceed EPA regulations. I know this because I worked with environmental engineers for nearly 25 years in NJ. NJ has environmental laws far stricter than the EPA.

So look at the ramifications of this. He gets rid of the EPA but states like NY, NJ, CT, MA, VT, NH and MD will still keep their state environmental regs. However, as with the HUMP and Republican morons thinking handing healthcare back to the states, dissolving the EPA will only cause states like NJ to sue the hell out of other polluter states. In other words, an environmental Civil War. And there is nothing the HUMP or Republicans can do to stop these lawsuits since they would be violating States’ Rights…those very states’ rights these CONfederacy states have used since the Civil War ende to avoid complying with federal regulations.

So, dissolve the EPA and NJDEP gets to keep all of the federal revenue our taxes hand over. This is also true for healthcare. Hand it back to our Dems states and we get a flush of money back to our states instead of having to pay for Hick states’ uninsured.

For several months major universities – including the U of Toronto has been downloading every study, every document, every bit of “evidence”. What has to happen next is all these scientists and engineer working for EPA must get out of that oppressive workplace and into either academia or the private sector. The government’s credibility has started the plummet and these people need to get out before their work and reputations are sullied.

No surprise here. Pruitt shut down the Oklahoma EPA and will be doing the same at the federal level. Run a pipeline through an aquifer serving seven states? No problem.

Saskatchewan suffered a major oil spill on the day Agent Orange accepted the GOP nomination, and another one the day of the Pruitt confirmation hearing. The oilcos decided to limit their liability a few decades ago by splitting off their drilling, distribution, and refining operations. No deep pockets for a recovery anymore.

Do you think Tillerson has an idea for what the proper value of a settlement for the next Exxon Valdez disaster will be at the Federal level with Pruitt in charge? Do you think it will exceed $1?

Trump is even dumber than I thought yesterday and seems to be pointed that direction again today. Was of the big issues with Clinton and the e-mails were the delected ones which somehow lead the GOP members of the committee to think that she was hiding something. Now follows Trump who really wants to conceal the numbers on global warming both from the people and from himself, so that when he does something really stupid, he can deny knowing about it. None of the EPA’s reports or data are classified, and the do not talk until I tell you what I want you to say order is unenforceable, but there are plenty of Mannings and Snowdens who have access to this data and information who will just start flooding the net with what they know, and this order has already raised interest, so the order will back up on Trump with more people actually getting the numbers and reports than there would have been without the EO.

There was an article about one of the Navy’s eastern ports that has recently suffered a lot of destruction due to rising sea levels. The article stated that due to rising sea levels, the base will be uninhabitable within the next ten years. I guess there will be a news blackout on that. I did my boot camp at MCRD San Diego many years ago. it is on a point of land that juts out into the Pacific Ocean. It too will in the foreseeable future be uninhabitable. Global warming is a serious problem. Over 97% of climate change scientists believe in global warming. If 97% of doctors you went to said you have a leaking aortic valve and 3% said you didn’t, would you take the advise of the 3% and not get surgery or would you take the advice of the 97% and get the surgery to save your life?

Sorry ps, but 97% do NOT believe in climate change. The 97% number has been debunked for many years. The ocean level near San Francisco has actually dropped by quite a bit in the past few years. Gravity works like the Moon affecting tides.
You need to do some research before posting such gibberish.
