Virus Amok

All the news about the Ebola virus reminds us that it’s time to re-read Laurie Garrett’s seminal work the Coming Plague: Newly Emerging Diseases in a World Out of Balance.

When it was first published 20 years ago, it read like a worst-case scenario of world health issues and challenges, but unfortunately it has proven to be all too prescient. It’s a real-life horror story that we are living…now.
