Watergate Revenge: Republicans Yearning To Impeach Obama Over Benghazi ‘Cover-Up’

Less than four months after Barack Obama’s inauguration, the right-wing propaganda machine is already promoting the only imaginable conclusion to a Democratic administration that dares to achieve a second term: impeachment. Once confined to the ranks of the birthers, the fantasy of removing President Obama from office is starting to fester in supposedly saner minds.

Certainly impeachment is on the mind of Mike Huckabee, the Fox News commentator who — as a former governor of Arkansas and political antagonist of Bill Clinton – can be expected to know something about the subject. On Monday, he predicted that the president will be forced from office before the end of his term by the controversy over the Benghazi consulate attack last September. According to Huckabee, while the Watergate scandal was “bad,” Benghazi is worse because four Americans died there, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.

The proximate cause for impeaching Obama, he suggested, is the “cover-up” of the facts concerning Benghazi. Moreover, he said, if the Democrats “try to protect the president and their party, and do so at the expense of the truth, they will go down.” When “the facts come out,” predicted Huckabee, “something will start” and ultimately the Democrats will lose “the right to govern.”

Presumably Huckabee believes impeachment would be easier than winning a national election. He isn’t alone in ruminating on the removal of a president who just won re-election last November — not on Fox News, anyway. (The ever-crafty Huck hedged by noting, however, that none of this will come to pass if Democrats win the midterm elections next year.)

Meanwhile, former UN ambassador John Bolton, whose cranky pronouncements continue to embarrass responsible conservatives, upped the ante by confiding what Huckabee left out – namely, that like every desperate Republican, he yearns for a Benghazi scandal that will stick. If there was no cover-up, Bolton insisted with characteristically twisted logic, that would prove Obama (the president who dispatched Osama bin Laden) simply doesn’t understand the ongoing threat from al Qaeda. “If it was merely a political cover-up,” he noted with satisfaction, “then there can be a political cost to pay.”

No doubt both Bolton and Huckabee — not to mention Rep. Darrell Issa, whose House Government Reform Committee maintains an ongoing Benghazi probe — plan to charge that cost not only to Obama but to a certain woman who now leads every 2016 presidential poll.

The meager substance of the “cover-up” canard was debunked months ago – and to date nothing has emerged to change those facts. (Indeed, even some of the most gullible denizens of Fox Nation have rejected the attempted frame-up lately.) Were the Republicans interested in constructive change rather than invented conspiracies, they might consult the Benghazi testimony of former general David Petraeus and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, as well as the unvarnished report by former ambassador Thomas Pickering and Admiral Mike Mullen.

But defending American diplomats and promoting American prestige are both foreign to the Republican agenda, which is concerned with nothing more elevated than partisan power.

With his far-fetched comparison to Richard Nixon’s disgrace, Huckabee helpfully unveiled a flashing neon clue to GOP psychopathology. The desire for revenge over Watergate, a Republican obsession for decades, was the underlying motivation for the outlandish Whitewater investigations that targeted the Clintons almost 20 years ago. Now, as the Obama presidency continues, America’s political predicament increasingly resembles the worst moments of that era, when the furious derangement that grips the opposition began to emerge in full.

For years we have seen the same campaign to demonize the president, the same systematic obstruction, the same refusal to accept a democratic verdict – and now the same urge to invent high crimes and misdemeanors. The only difference is that the timetable for impeachment – which didn’t commence for Clinton until the end of 1997 — appears to be accelerating.

The Imperial President won’t be impeached. His teflon coating and his coalition of un-indicted co-conspirators will prevent that from happening. Even if by chance he were to be impeached, he would finish out his term, lose his law license for a short time, and go on public speaking engagements just like William “B.J.” Clinton and secure $100,000.00 or more per speech to a fawning group of salivating and worshipping drones.

    1. adler56 May 8, 2013

      racist loser.

    2. Raymond Haswell May 8, 2013

      1. Tom_D44 May 8, 2013

Nothing he stated even remotely hinted to or displayed any type of racism – yet that is where you take your argument. You display the quintessential stereotype of the wacked out leftist ideology, always pointing the finger and screaming racism while consistently being the only one to bring it up. And always in a fit of rage and anger. It is very sad.

        1. charleo1 May 8, 2013

No, it’s not sad, It’s just the way it is in this country.
This President has dealt with the racists, and the
semi-fascist, hooters, and dog whistles, of the Southern Coalition. The same way the Black man has, and the Brown man’s quickly, learning to. First, ignore them. Then vote
aganist them. And remember, revenge is a dish, better
          served cold.

    3. itsfun May 8, 2013

I have to agree with you. He may be impeached by the house, but will never be removed by the Senate. It just boils down to how many Republicans and Democrats are in each chamber. Kinda sad that something as serious as this, depends on how many people of each party are in office.

    4. Elisabeth Gordon May 8, 2013

“…his coalition of un-indicted co-conspirators” – back to your bunker there skippy ~ and take the rest of your rethugs with ya! oops, I forgot, the President is still black…Pathetic…

    5. Eleanore Whitaker May 8, 2013

Levinis…Why didn’t the GOP impeach Bush for his Geneva Convention Violations? His lies to get a war in Iraq? The pathetic right wing can’t play honestly or fair. Be reminded that “WE” the people have the last say on which president is elected. If the pathetic losers of the GOP don’t like that, time for them to stop living off tax dollars and find other, less expensive employment.

      1. idamag May 8, 2013

The people do not matter to these right wingnuts or they would accept that Obama was elected president and work with him.

    6. latebloomingrandma May 8, 2013

The only teflon president was St. Reagan. Remember Iran-Contra? All he did was plead that he didn’t understand what was going on and was given a pass.

      1. Jack Wormer May 8, 2013

Surely, grandma, we cannot hold people like St. Reagan, hovering in twilights while President, responsible for NOT understanding things!
Besides, he didn’t have to understand – just do what his pre-Karl Rove cons command him to say and do…

      2. oldtack May 8, 2013

Reagan probably didn’t know what was going on which also goes for Oliver North and others. During the Contra affair there was a very attractive Correspondent from Peru with influence. She was privy to all the goings on in the WH and Congress. What was not known was that this Attractive Lady was a Sandinista Agent. Everything said in the WH and conferences was relayed back to Daniel Ortega and the Sandinista Army. This attractive lady then married a leader in Ortega’s Cabinet. She now resides in Managua. .Her children attended Georgetown Prep in Washington, Loyola University and Tulane University.

So much for the idiots under Reagan.

        1. Sand_Cat May 8, 2013

Are you citing this fantasy because you were one of those “idiots,” or should we just mark you down as delusional?

          1. oldtack May 8, 2013

Just like a right wing nut job – go on the attack without any idea of truth.

I know this woman. I have dined at her home.. I was present in Managua at a political rally masquerading as a birthday party when this lady’s husband was making a pitch to be the Sandinista candidate for President at the end of Aleman’s tenure. He couldn’t gain sufficient support and the chosen candidate was Daniel Ortega. Ortega won the election and is still in power.
Not everyone is a stupid ass delusional idiot like you and Lana Ward.. Now go crawl back in bed with Lana.

    7. Madelaine Ayers Henne May 8, 2013

Imperial? Many Presidents have done far worse than the GOP is accusing this President of doing! You, sir, are a huge bigot!!

    8. charleo1 May 8, 2013

Well, let’s see. Invading a Country on false pretenses, that resulted
in the deaths of more than 200,000 Iraqi citizens, and the displacement
of 2 million from their homes to neighboring countries. Costing his own
country 4000+ troops, and a minimum of 4 trillion dollars. Is kinda like
lying about a blow job. Because…..Now you fill in the rest smarty pants.

      1. LevinisDaMan May 9, 2013

Sorry genius. Your hero lied and honorable men died. Do you need a towel to wipe the spittle and drool from your liberal Obama worshipping yap trap? You know how you can tell if a liberal is lying? His lips move while he’s chanting O-B-A-M-A…y e s- w e -can.

        1. charleo1 May 9, 2013

Sorry, are you? Well, sure. You wanted to put in your
2 cents. But that would first require you to know what
in the hell you’re talking about. And yes, I damn sure
do support, and respect, President Obama. So, who
was the last President you supported, and respected?

    9. Sand_Cat May 8, 2013

I love how you could come up with no descriptions but those applied (rightly) to Republican presidents. You haven’t a clue.

  2. The_Magic_M May 8, 2013

The eternal “0-1 score” on the impeachment playing field is obviously driving Republicans nuts.
The downside to this is the “cry wolf” problem – with everything inflated to the high standard of “impeachable offense”, soon people will not listen to this argument anymore and assume it to be everyday political grandstanding.
Maybe the Republicans are already preparing for their next presidency and hope that by then, all common criticisms of the sitting president will be total non-issues to the public, thereby paving a way for a truly unconstitutional and impeachable presidency. But maybe that’s just the conspiracy theorist in me. 😉

    1. Allan Richardson May 8, 2013

They can take comfort in that it is historically 2 to 0 in their favor: Andrew Johnson was a “moderate” for that day (i.e. non-secessionist) Democrat who ran as Lincoln’s second running mate, then became President when Lincoln was assassinated; he was impeached (but won the Senate trial by one vote) on a trumped up charge by Republicans.

But then, considering that Republicans THEN were the anti-racism party that the Democrats are now, and Democrats THEN were the conservative Southern party, mostly secessionist, that Republicans are now, maybe it’s 1 and 1 in attempts, 0 and 0 in reality. And Nixon was threatened with impeachment but resigned before the process could start.

      1. DurdyDawg May 10, 2013

Actually he was given a free ‘get out of jail’ card.. The bum just would not man up to his misdemeanors, probably fretting that his future museum would then become a Mississippi out house and he wouldn’t have received top-dollar on any of his later (gasbag) tours if he had, so he got his hand picked butt sniffer to initiate plan B if Watergate didn’t blow over which it didn’t and which Tricky’s ‘non-elected’ V.P. AND Pres. did. Personally I liked Ford but was totally disappointed that he put saving face before justice. Had he allowed the law to resume I think the world would have applauded the final result (whatever it would have been) but the way it played out, to other countries, it was (shrug).. “Just another Capitalist manipulation”..

    2. Christopher Fowler May 8, 2013

We already had an unimpeachable president…….Bush Jr.; the boy who would be king.

And the funny part is that he cannot travel outside of the US without the very high likelihood of getting arrested for war crimes. Shame that we won’t arrest him and send him to those counties…..after all, we DO have extradition treaties with all of them.

      1. lana ward May 8, 2013

Little black Sambo is impeachable too

  3. Dominick Vila May 8, 2013

I don’t think the GOP has any intention to impeach President Obama because of the terrorist attack against our consulate in Benghazi. Doing so would open a can of worms they have no intention of exposing: 9/11/01.

What they are trying to do is to establish a parallel between the worst attack in history, when the GOP controlled the White House and Congress, and what would have been one more incident in the interminable list of terrorist attacks against our interests and those of our allies a decade ago. Needless to say, undermining or minimizing the long list of foreign policy accomplishments made by the Obama administration is also high on their agenda.

    1. hjs3 May 8, 2013

The 9/11 Commission was the greatest candy coating job since Reeses started applying chocolate to peanut butter..

      1. holyreality May 8, 2013

Since Lee Atwater whitewashed Iran Contra.

        1. hjs3 May 8, 2013

Of course the Grand-Daddy of ’em all is still the Warren Commission….Ah Lee Atwater…
Classic case of bad karma coming back to bite ya right in the a…

          1. holyreality May 8, 2013

Yet JFK and 911 truthers are considered lunatic fringe.

One must never dare question sugarcoated whitewash or they will forever carry the scarlet C for Conspiracy theory.

  4. adler56 May 8, 2013

Huckabee gives Christianity a bad name.

    1. Mary Withers May 8, 2013

Consider him one of a large and enthusiastic group that seems dedicated to that mission.

However, Hard Core Cultural Fake-Ass “We Worship Guns and Amurrica!!!!” Christians will support *their* slimeballs no matter what! Mark Sanford, the guy who lied and took a vacation from governing, saying he was “hiking” while he was down banging some Argentinian whore (on the taxpayer’s dime), who humiliated his wife and kids, who is trying to welch on his child support, who has a habit of breaking into his ex-wife’s home and sneaking around in the dark with a flashlight while his wife and kids sleep (aka “hot prowling”) just WON ELECTION TO CONGRESS!!!

Wow, those South Carolina voters are stupid. Impenetrably stupid.

      1. Mary Ann Hoogeveen May 8, 2013

Mary,I agree with you 100%.The voters of South Carolina and the rest of the south give new meaning to the word Morons. Here in backward state of florida,it’s GOD,Guns and GOP.They are pitiful!

        1. AnnMarieCad May 8, 2013

Well I’ll tell you I’m not a happy Moron and another thing I’m not is stupid. I’m a proud American Democrat.

          1. cats33 May 8, 2013

You are stupid, you’re a dem

          2. Christopher Fowler May 8, 2013

You are the reason that the GOP will never be the party of smart people.

As a matter of fact, there are a number of scientific studies (as opposed to the anecdotal ones that the far right lives by) that show that there is a correlation between low intellect and “conservative” values.

Do a little studying…..you can read, can’t you? Start with these, because a well informed public is bad for the GOP.

          3. jmprint May 8, 2013

You are stupider. Go hang out with your communists friends at the NRA.

          4. DurdyDawg May 10, 2013

        3. hjs3 May 8, 2013

Yup and they still come up 73,000 votes short in a genral election while suppressing another estimated 50k….

      2. oldtack May 8, 2013

Ahh – South Carolina. What a shining example of Idiocy. I attended a funeral this past week and there were attendees from the Palmetto State. After listening to them I was reminded of the Statement by James L. Petigru when South Caroline seceded from the Union. “South Carolina is too small for a Republic and too large for an Insane Asylum”.
Bless their little patriotic Christian Zealot hearts.

    2. oldtack May 8, 2013

      Yes he does.

    3. tranz2deep May 8, 2013

Along with politics, logic, due process, and basic humanity.

    4. cats33 May 8, 2013

Communists hate anything or anyone who is good and decent, communist!

      1. Madelaine Ayers Henne May 8, 2013

Oh my God you’re one of “those”!!

Yes he is. I think it could be a chemical imbalance.
But he won’t go get checked out. He just keeps posting,
and posting. A clear cry for help. I think.

      2. hjs3 May 8, 2013

        Oh Dear!

      3. Christopher Fowler May 8, 2013

You should look up that word, “communist”, because your party is closer aligned to religious fascism, Stalinism and Communism than any other party in American history…..more so even that the ACP.

Obama let those 4 heroes die, while he was peacefully sleeping

      1. Madelaine Ayers Henne May 8, 2013

Were you there or did you get your “facts” from Faux news? Please! We lost 13 people in embassy attacks under Bush!!

        1. Christopher Fowler May 8, 2013

We lost a lot more than 13 people in embassy attacks under bush. More than 60, PLUS all of the more than 100 that were wounded.

Kool-aid drinkers on the far right may never use any actual facts, but the rest of us in the middle and the left need to have our facts right.

        2. lana ward May 8, 2013

          Obamas’ on trial, not Bush

          1. TZToronto May 8, 2013

Actually, neither is nor was on trial. Perhaps persecution is a better term.

          2. plc97477 May 8, 2013

            That’s too bad.

          3. DurdyDawg May 10, 2013

Actually YOUR on trial. Charge? Blithering idiocy, and the facts prove it (better get yourself a hungry mouth piece)..

        3. docb May 9, 2013

Actually, 11 attacks and 50 people died under bush /cheney! But your premise is correct!

      2. charleo1 May 8, 2013

Speaking of peacefully sleeping. Aren’t you tired yet?
You’re a nut, you know. I knew this guy one time who
had a chemical imbalance. He was a nut too, until they
figured out he could take this one little pill, and viola!
Have you ever considered taking one little pill a day?
Because right now, a squirrel would stick you in a
knot hole, and save you for winter.

      3. docb May 8, 2013

        1. lana ward May 9, 2013

The video had nothing to do with the attack(which Reps knew from the start), so why is the guy who made the video still in jail??

  6. itsfun May 8, 2013

Maybe the worst thing about this is the way people are treating this like a baseball game with the score being 1-0. Americans were murdered here and we do need to get to the bottom of this and let the chips fall as they may. We shouldn’t spend time comparing Watergate and Benghazi. Just get the answers to this one way or another. If there is a coverup, then heads should roll. I don’t know which heads, but we can’t let a coverup of these murders go unpunished. That is IF there is a coverup. It shouldn’t matter whether we are conservative or liberal. This is a test of our system of government, not a contest between Republicans and Democrats. No one should be above our laws and IF this is proven, then let our system of laws take over. IF this is not proven, then we need to move on with getting our country out of debt and fixing our problems. Either way proven or not, a complete investigation will show the whole world that our system works as intended. My 2 cents

    1. Ann Carnes May 8, 2013

The problem is, there were 11 embassy/consulate attacks under Bush with 50 people being killed including embassy personnel. How come you didn’t see all this scrutiny regarding those attacks or the attacks under Bush, Sr. or Reagan. Practically every President has had an attack while he was in office and there has never been this much attention focused on any of them. They’re talking about how 4 more personnel were waiting to fly to Benghazi, what good would 4 more people have done against a crowd. You would have had 4 more people dead. You would have needed a whole platoon to fight the crowd. I feel bad for the 4 men who died but instead of placing blame figure out ways to fix the problem and then move forward with fixing the economy.

      1. itsfun May 8, 2013

You are just showing what I said the problem is. You just want to blame others before the current administration, and say it is just fine what has happened and leave the administration alone. . This is not a Republican or Democrat problem. We can’t just continue to say “we know politicians all lie to us and that’s the way it is”. We cannot continue to accept lies from any politicians. Words must mean something. If there is a coverup, it must be exposed and those covering up must be punished. We can’t just keep blaming George Bush for every problem that comes up. Anyone that accepts or accepted the u-tube excuse has to be living in a dream world. We as tax paying citizens deserve to be told the truth.

        1. Madelaine Ayers Henne May 8, 2013

If you wanted the “truth” about anything, you would be recalling every Republican that voted against everything Obama wanted simply to discredit him! Where are your priorities? You complain about big banks, which the GOP won’t even talk about, you complain about a lack of jobs when there has been a jobs bill in front of them since Obama’s first term that they won’t even bother to look at, you complain about the tax laws that give enormous breaks to the wealthy yet the GOP thinks that just fine. Fix your priorities! Benghaszi is a smoke screen for the GOP to take attention away from the real work that Congress doesn’t do!

          1. itsfun May 8, 2013

I didn’t say a word about banks, jobs,or taxes. My point is all questions need to be answered. If our President lied to us (u-tube film), how do we trust him? We have to be able to trust our elected officials. I don’t care what party they are in. Too many questions about Benghazi have come up to ignore them. If you don’t want to know what happened and why it happened, then so be it. Keep living with you head in the sand.

          2. Sand_Cat May 8, 2013

No, your “point” is that you hate Obama, and you’re willing to justify anything done by someone as repugnant as yourself.

          3. Dana Es May 12, 2013

From past comments you’ve made, it’s obvious you don’t like our President. If you want to talk about the importance of being able to trust our elected officials, you’re really walking a slippery slope — there have been so many lies and slanderous accusations originating with members of Congress that it’d take years and a fortune to sort them all out, but if you really believe it should be done, well, then you should get started on that.

          4. itsfun May 12, 2013

Its not that I don’t like our President. I think he would be a good guy to sit down with, have a couple of beers and talk about sports and the like. I just don’t agree with many of his policies or ideas My post wasn’t meant to attack him specifically. I just believe our elected officials need to be held to high standards and be honest with us. When these elected officials lie to us or commit a crime, they should be held accountable. I voted for one of my US Senators who is a Democrat, also voted for my US Rep. who is a Republican. I don’t really care how politicians label their selves. I just wish they wouldn’t go along blindly with their respective parties on all issues. Maybe it is a dream world, but I don’t think expecting honesty from our politicians is asking too much.

        2. Sand_Cat May 8, 2013

Look, moron: you’ve already added hypocrisy to your o0bvious stupidity and incredible gullibility. Why don’t you quit while you’re ahead?

          1. itsfun May 8, 2013

my my my: How wonderful it is to see the tolerance for the opinions of those who don’t agree with your great insight. Isn’t it the left always preaching about being tolerant of others? Your name calling just shows your class. Do you have any more names for me? Your level of intelligence is obvious.

          2. Sand_Cat May 9, 2013

You get what you give. I’m not trying to pass any laws to keep you from saying your piece, or to prevent your voting. “Tolerance” does not amount to allowing malicious lunatics to walk over one without protest. If you don’t like it go someplace else. Perhaps someplace [a lot] warmer.

          3. itsfun May 9, 2013

Will I be meeting you there? Lets see now, malicious lunatics. Happy to see you don’t believe in name calling. Is that your only argument? Just call someone vial names and hope they go away. Sorry pal, your heroes problems are not going away.

      2. Sand_Cat May 8, 2013

The hell with “seeing” all this scrutiny. If he really gave a damn, why wasn’t he fighting for it?

    2. charleo1 May 8, 2013

Darrell Issa is looking for answers in the same way he’s trying
to save the Postal Service. The same way he looked for answers
to the bungled gun running sting, called Fast, and Furious. He was
fast to investigate, and furious he didn’t dig up any dirt on Eric
Holder. This is business as usual for Republicans, if they can’t
run the entire sha-bang. It’s Whitewater. It’s the blow job in the
Oval Office. Somebody is covering something up, and they are
always going to get to the bottom of the impeachable plot. They look
at it this way. It’s beats working for a living, when a Democrat is in
the White House. I guess they think Americans will finally figure
out, if they want any action out of Washington, they had better
elect all Republicans. Otherwise, they’ll shut the damn thing down.

      1. itsfun May 8, 2013

You don’t think Obama lied to America when he blamed a u-tube film for the attack. It beats working for a living. Under this administration we have more people on food stamps, then the whole population of Spain. Our debt is in the trillions from this administration and you blame Bush. Watergate was a attempted cover-up too. The President had to resign, and many of his henchmen went to prison. Our President should be a honorable person, getting a blow job in the white house is not very honorable. If our President lies to Americans, how can we trust anything he says? I don’t care what party is in the white house, if we can’t trust our elected officials to be honest and truthful with us, how can we believe in anything they come up with.

        1. charleo1 May 8, 2013

Do I think President Obama lied? There has been
nothing presented in the subsequent investigation
that would indicate he knew anything to the contrary
at the time of his first comments on the incident.
The fact of the matter was, there were protests
aganist the film in Cairo, Egypt, Tunisia, the West Bank Palestinians, under Hamas, as well as crowds of
protesters that gathered in Bagdad, and Kabul. So,
there was considerable unrest over the video. More
evidence that supports the initial assumption the
protests were about the video, is found in a communique
between the embassy in Cairo, and Ambassador
Stevens. That suggested he choose a local leader,
to explain the film was not the work of the American
Gov’t. But, if you listened to President Obama’s
remarks, he made it fairly clear, there would be an
investigation to discern who was responsible, and
and every effort made to, I think he used the phrase,
bring those terrorists to justice. Now, for there to be a
cover up, first there must be a motive. And, for there to
be a motive, there has to be a reason. And so far, the
only reason seems to have more to do with Republican
          politics, than Presidential misconduct. Ambassador
Stevens always was a hands on guy. He had been to
this embassy numerous times, when the war was
underway. He would get in a car, and drive to the rebel’s
front lines. At one time, President Obama ordered him
home for his safety. He protested, said he was perfectly
safe, and the President relented, and allowed him to stay
on. Ambassador Stevens was a man of great personal
courage, that believed in the people there. And Hell, he
was a hero to them. We, the U.S. had just helped them
overthrow a dictator, that had ruled over them for 40 years.
But, there is something even more important here. We
don’t use a terrorist attack to bring down a President.
We’ll make a target out of every embassy we have, if
they determine that’s all it takes to shake up the Gov’t
          of the United States.

      2. plc97477 May 8, 2013

If that is the only way to get anything done they are going to have to count me out.

    3. jarheadgene May 8, 2013

I thought there already were hearings re Bengahzi. I saw Hillary Clinton come to the podium and make the P.O.S.G.O.P. congressmen look like the jackasses that they are. Huckabee a CHRISTIAN.? In the words of John Wayne, “NOT HARDLY !” LOVERS of GOLD and MONEY …DO NOT enter the Kingdom of Heaven according to JESUS.

      1. Sand_Cat May 8, 2013

He slept through that in front of the TV tuned to Faux “News”

  7. Eleanore Whitaker May 8, 2013

Shouldn’t the title of this article be more truthful? “Bigoted” Republicans yearning to impeach Obama over Benghazi “Cover Up?” Anyone else fed up with these little bully bois impeaching Democratic presidents yet? How about we impeach McConnell, Cornyn, Ryan, Issa, Inouhe, Cantor and Boehner? The Gang of 8 GOP Bullies are desperate to override the vote of the people who elected this president. That’s cause for their impeachment. When you violate voting rights by attempting an impeachment just because you want YOUR GOP MAN (it’s never a woman) in the White House, that’s a violation of our constitutional rights. Wake up people…How many more Democratic presidents are we going to put through the GOP Gangsters constitutional violations?

    1. Tom_D44 May 8, 2013

Eleanore, while I probably don’t agree with most of your political views, I would agree with you that any politician, regardless of the party, who breaks the law, lies to the american people, or otherwise does anything that is not in the best interest of the people they represent or in protecting the constitution should be thrown out. And any of them who have broken the law – Any of them including the current president and any past presidents – should go to jail.

      1. jmprint May 8, 2013

So when do we lock up Cheney?

        1. montanabill May 10, 2013

Same day you are willing to lock up Obama.

          1. jmprint May 10, 2013

Does not compare, not even close.

          2. montanabill May 10, 2013

I suppose that depends on who is doing the comparing. A lot of blind eyes viewing Obama.

      2. sigrid28 May 8, 2013

What about the lies that allowed Cheney and Bush to start the war in Iraq?

        1. victoria_29 May 8, 2013

guess you missed the news flash…not unusual for loons that can barely read but Bush was right about WMD

          1. sigrid28 May 8, 2013

There were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and the South lost the Civil War. Time to catch up!

          2. TZToronto May 8, 2013

Funny, but I missed the headlines that said there were WMDs found in Iraq. Can you guide me to your sources on this, please?

          3. idamag May 9, 2013

I missed them, too. In fact, I did watch where a reporter asked Bush what the worst part of his presidency was and he answered when no WMDs were found.

          4. James D. Smith May 9, 2013

I am evidently a loon that cannot read. Would you please cite the source that shows that WMD’s were found in Iraq, and that Bush was right. I will have someone more qualified read it to me, and immediately a end my call for the trial of Bush & company for treason.
I look forward to your response.

          5. RAWoD May 9, 2013

Victoria — did you seriously buy into W’s WMD lie?

          6. oldtack May 10, 2013

If you have this information then share it. Cite your source. Information without Documentation is not worth the paper it was never written on.

            Put up or shut up.

        2. montanabill May 10, 2013

Since Hillary was right there on the forefront of approving the Iraq actions, either she had the same information Bush/Cheney had and believed it too, or she was so dumb she was easily mislead. The latter would certainly not make her a good Presidential candidate.

        3. Paul Huggins May 10, 2013

Congress approved the war people! lets remove the Congress also

          1. plc97477 May 10, 2013

They didn’t approve the war they just decided, for some dumb reason, to let baby bush decide is it was needed.

      3. Lynda Groom May 8, 2013

Lets try and focus on the words of the Constitution ‘treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors’ are required for impeachment.

        1. victoria_29 May 8, 2013

yes let’s focus on those words. FYI obama is guilty of treason & yeah murder is high crime.

          1. Angela Walker May 9, 2013

Victoria, if you keep displaying your belief in a paranoid fantasy and never offer a single factual bit of evidence the sane world will finally simply dismiss and ignore you as if you’re just a tad on the not too sane side 😀

          2. InsideEye May 9, 2013

There was an obvious try for a cover story about the You tube video being the cause of the Embassy killings. This went on 3-4 weeks. Who were they trying to protect….Moslem Brotherhood and their sympathizers and that includes O’Bama. This was such an obvious scheme.

          3. RAWoD May 9, 2013

So victoria: how is your home schooling working out for you?

          4. docb May 9, 2013

It was the brietbart -fux kindergarten troll school she flunked, raw.!. vic29 is just a newbie !

          5. oldtack May 10, 2013

Your reply is a convoluted jumble of disjointed utterances. Please read and re-construct and get someone to write it for you as it is apparent you have a very poor grasp of sentence structure.

          6. JSquercia May 21, 2013

Got Proof and the ravings of Glen Beck don’t count

      4. Paul Huggins May 10, 2013

absolutely! AS Commander in Chief….this President , his staff, includinging Hilary were in the White House situation room watching Benghazi unfold in real time. Hilary’s job was to protect the Embassy, send aid instead she ordered the military to stand down! the so called commander in chief could and should have ordered the rescue, he did nothing and went to bed! that is inexcusable as commander in chief. he woke up the next morning and was on the campaign trail. He and Hilary should be charged with incompetcy, neglect of duty and impeached.

what amazes me is people still cover up for the worst President in history just because he’s black!

        1. JSquercia May 21, 2013

There was NO real time video .

I would call the guy who started two wars that lasted 10 years and on whose watch the Economy collapsed t e WORST President in History . The only thing that prevented a Second Great Depression was the programs created by the New Deal .that would be the same programs the Ubber wealthy and their Republican Cohorts have been trying to dismantle

    2. cats33 May 8, 2013

Obama and Hillary are murderers. They let those 4 in Benghazi die

      1. Ann Carnes May 8, 2013

Are you aware that there were 11 embassy/consulate attacks under Bush? Fifty people died and 100 wounded. Was he also a murderer? How about the 5,000 that died as a result of his lies about WMD? Oh, I forgot, Bush made millions off his lies. I guess that justifies them.

        1. lana ward May 8, 2013

Apparently Bush didn’t do anything wrong or he would have had to go before congress. What’s going on now, Obama is on trial–HE LET these 4 be murdered!! Impeach!!!

          1. Democats and Demodog May 8, 2013

How did he let them be murdered? What could have been done to stop the attack?

          2. lana ward May 9, 2013

Obama refused to send security when Stevens begged for it, then when they were being attacked he refused to send help. The next question should be WHY did Obama want Stevens dead???

          3. Angela Walker May 9, 2013

Boy, the nuts like lana ward are out in force today. Oh well, by this time next week they’ll be dormant again until Fox News tells them to rise from their barcaloungers and rant and rave again. Poor flaccid little things 😀

          4. Paul Huggins May 10, 2013

Angela! i bet your a liberal democ-rat aren’t you? devoid of all common sense and march to the party line. Obama is the most incompetent President we have ever had. Every time he and Bie me open their mouths there lying.

          5. idamag May 9, 2013

Strange thing is that there were attacks on embassies and consulates during each administration. When that happened and we had real American Republicans, both parties pulled together with outrage. Between 1964 and 1990 there were 64 attacks on US embassies and consulates. The t party people are dangerous to democracy. They have wasted the last 9 years with ridiculous accusations and obstructionism. Shame on any district who sent a t party person to the House.

          6. docb May 9, 2013

Do not ask questions of the empty suit..she makes things up or borrows them from breirbart and fux!

          7. Paul Huggins May 10, 2013

are you kidding us? the President is the Commander in Chief, instead of scratching his rear end and going to bed, he should have given the green light for the military rescue team to immediately deploy….he did nothing! while he was sleeping the Embassy was over run by Obama’s Muslim buddies and they were slaughtered. Hilary should be charged also for lieing to the American people and Congress. they both should be tried for treason.

      2. Madelaine Ayers Henne May 8, 2013

Bull Hockey!! Many more lives were lost in embassy attacks under Bush!

      3. Pi_Boson May 8, 2013

And you can fully trust that Faux news is reporting anything but reality.

      4. jmprint May 8, 2013

Cheney’s lies have caused our children to be maimed for life. How many are no longer with us? And you are proud of this?

        1. lana ward May 9, 2013

Obama is the liar, not Cheney

          1. jmprint May 9, 2013

You can lie in bed thing Cheney all you want, but fact are facts.
            And you obviously are clueless.

          2. idamag May 9, 2013

She is the resident nut. It is futile to respond to her. It is like arguing with a severely developmentally disabled person. The monitors caught her once and banned her. They will again. If it were in the 17 and 1800s she could be tried for treason.

        2. Paul Huggins May 10, 2013

how is it that bush and or Cheny have caused our children to be maimed for life? what is affecting oiur children and grand children is the massive dept Obama has imposed on America.

          1. jmprint May 10, 2013

Cheney lied about weapons of mass destruction, so that we would go into a war, that would line his pockets immensely.
So why are you crying about the mess that Bush left us with?

      5. Jim Myers May 8, 2013

Hey, idiot, read my response to Dominick Villa.

      6. charleo1 May 8, 2013

You’re a nut. Did anybody ever tell you that? Well,
it’s true. As a fruitcake, you are. Why do you suppose
all these people disagree with you? Because, you’re a nut!

        1. InsideEye May 9, 2013

This is a Lefty site also. so there is a lot of preaching to the Choir here.

          1. charleo1 May 9, 2013

You’re correct. His ignorance on the subject, coming
from Fox, Limbaugh, and Drudge, certainly stands out
here. While, over at Britebart, or Red State, they’d consider
him a genius. Facts tend to have a left leaning slant. If you
            know what I mean.

      7. Paul Huggins May 10, 2013

absolutely right, they both should be tried for high treason. Obama after watching bengahzi in real time, simply went to bed, probaby slept like a baby, when the Embassador and his staff lost their lives, while to so called commander in chief got his beauty rest!!! got up the next morning and was off on his campaign trail. Hilary was up making up talking points (lies) and telling the military in Tripoli to stand down.

  8. Catskinner May 8, 2013

    Impeachment would be nice.

    1. Ann Carnes May 8, 2013

If Obama should be impeached over this then Bush should have gotten the death penalty for his lies about Iraq. $6 trillion debt and 5,000 lives lost – big difference.

    2. Madelaine Ayers Henne May 8, 2013

Impeachment? Right you are. Then Bush should be brought up for war crimes! Lunatic!

  9. ram1020 May 8, 2013

We should keep in mind that the break-in itself didn’t bring Nixon down, it was the cover-up. A decision was made about the Benghazi response, and it is defensible. The fact is that we saved all but 4 people, and if we had sent war planes in to slaughter Libyan citizens, the situation could have been worse, both then and there, and in the near future everywhere. More than 4 Americans would have been lost. The truth is not always pretty, but a cover-up makes it look like someone did something seriously wrong.

    1. Dominick Vila May 8, 2013

Most of the consulates I visited were guarded by a lonely local cop, and some not even that. Some are fairly large, as was the case with the one in Benghazi, a city of great interest to us and the Koch brothers because of oil in that part of Libya, some are just a room in an office building.
The idea that we can deploy large military contingents to protect our diplomatic missions ignore the fact that local governments may not agree and, most importantly, because it would accentuate the fact that while most diplomatic institutions are respected worldwide, ours have been a target of terrorist attacks for decades. Do you understand the damage we did to our credibility and reputation when we built a 21-building embassy in Baghdad’s green zone and deployed hundreds of Marines to guard it? We are, effectively, acknowledging that the only way for American institutions to survive overseas is by building bunkers and deploying highly trained and heavily armed military forces and spies to protect them. Shouldn’t the bastion of freedom and democracy be welcome, admired and loved by those who have benefitted from our financial aid largesse, or should we assume the bribes were not enough to buy their support?

      1. Jim Myers May 8, 2013

        Your report is “Spot On”.

However, you forgot to mention that it was the Republicans who gutted President Obama’s request for funds to upgrade, fortify and provide more security measures at many of the most vulnerable Consulates in hot spots around the world.

        1. hjs3 May 8, 2013

Silly detail like the $300M is of course lost on the folks at Faux News…

    2. hjs3 May 8, 2013

People don’t know the half of what John Dean covered-up either…
And J.Edgar Hoover was helping him all the while too…
Still trying to figure out how he ended up with his name on a building too.

      1. ram1020 May 9, 2013

My point was that they will be better off telling the truth about the decision, which wasn’t as bad as the alternatives. If we focus on John Dean and J. Edgar Hoover, we are inviting the “nobody died in Watergate” line, perpetuating the tendency to reduce any issue to sound bytes and a asking for Coke vs Pepsi kind of public response. We may not all be international relations professionals, but we are not so stupid that we can’t deal with the truth about the decisions our government makes.

  10. Scott Ladd May 8, 2013

Wow! I love it when the blind liberals cpomment.
They hale to the leader that’s destroying our country. They even have nerve
enough to talk about a budget. Something we haven’t had since this boy has been
in office. Can tey, or Barry even spell the word?

    1. awakenaustin May 8, 2013

Mr. Ladd, surely just a typo, but it is hail and not hale. (“Hale” means healthy and hardy.) When you try to trash talk and use spelling as your weapon, make sure you spell things correctly.

Of course, it might not be a typo you may actually think you used the correct word and spelled it correctly.

Possibly you were typing faster than your brain works.

You should be more respectful of your betters.

I find it quite remarkable and as striking a comment as one could make about the GOP’s true nature, that 4 men who knew what they were into and went with eyes open are viewed as such a trajedy, while 27 school children and teachers are seen as completely acceptable collateral damage and not worth getting particularly worked up about.

    2. Jack Wormer May 8, 2013

      @Scott L.:
This the first time you wrote things on (virtual)paper?

    3. jarheadgene May 8, 2013

RACIST MORON !!!! Just called the President of the United States …”boy”.

    4. plc97477 May 8, 2013

Talk about problems spelling. Maybe you should put a dictionary on your wish list.

  11. TZToronto May 8, 2013

President Obama should back up a few steps and say that he was wrong about going after the criminals of the Dubya administration. Let the Justice Department go after them, and then see the Republicans howl..

    1. Allan Richardson May 8, 2013

I’d like to have seen that in 2009, but now it’s too late. Even Independents and some Democrats among the electorate would consider it to be a partisan witch hunt on HIS part at this late date.

      1. Jim Myers May 8, 2013

Although you are correct, WHAT IS WRONG WITH A DEMOCRATIC WITCH HUNT?

        Fight fire with fire.

      2. TZToronto May 11, 2013

Yes, it’s too late, but the mere threat of opening the Bush can of worms might just be sufficient to make these racist obstructionists back off. The Justice Department doesn’t actually have to start an investigation. All that’s required is a strategically-placed “leak” from an unnamed source.

    2. charleo1 May 8, 2013

I’ll say this. If he didn’t see that it would hurt the working people,
because of the political firestorm, it it would create. He might
have done just that. Republicans have proven they care nothing
about hurting the average working person.. In fact, they do it on
purpose, if it serves, and helps their politics. Just wait. We’ve got
another debt authorization bill coming up. The last one caused
the economy 18.5 billion dollars lost in sales, and investments,
in the summer of 2011. Don’t think they are not sitting around
trying to fine the best way to slow this economy down, before it
recovers completely, and President Obama gets the credit.

      1. TZToronto May 8, 2013

Too bad these Congress-creatures are the only ones who can censure their own kind. When you look at all the less-than-worthy people who have held office, few have been censured (4 senators since 1954, 5 representatives since 1979). Among the senators, only Joe McCarthy was censured for something other than money issues. Of the 5 reps, three were censured for money issues, 2 for sexual misconduct with House pages. Seems like trying to ruin the country doesn’t even show up on the radar.

        1. charleo1 May 9, 2013

If we look at the actions of the GOP, or their inaction,
and obstruction. When circumstances clearly called for Congress to act. Then, taking an overall view of their
behavior, from 1/09, to the present. I don’t think we
can reach any other conclusion, but, there was/is an
intentional effort made, to prevent the economy from
recovering, as a part of their political strategy. The
GOP, were of course, attempting to use the poor
economy for their political advantage. No President
since FDR, had won reelection with unemployment
over 8%. However, their problem with this plan was,
Nov. of 2010, the next election, was almost 2 years
away. So, they went through a number of sabotage
efforts. All designed to inhibit growth, and stall recovery.
First, oppose all accepted economic policies known to
mitigate contractions. Since interest rates were near
zero. The second mechanism, governments use to
halt an economic slide, is for the government to be
the spender of last resort. Something all Congresses,
and all Presidents, Democrat, or Republican, Black or
White, had used to prime a sluggish economy. At least
in the post WWII, era. The GOP wouldn’t hear of it!
Stop the spending, they insisted. If they were honest
about it, they would say, stop the spending! It’s causing
the economy to recover! And a lousy economy is our
best bet to recover the GOP. To hell with the economic
recovery! There were scare tactics. And tactics, like
refusing to pass the debt authorization bill, That were
just scary. But, all very much aganist the best interests
of the economy. And, as they say, the bottom 99%.

Maybe President Obama could send “W” on some kind of goodwill ambassador to one of the countries that would arrest him. Let the world court take care of Bush.

  12. hjs3 May 8, 2013

    Desperate indeed…..

  13. awakenaustin May 8, 2013

This is not an assault so much on President Obama as it is a pre-emptive effort to keep Hillary Clinton off the ballot in 2016. She is the primary target of the House hearings. they wish to dictate the terms of her run for the Presidency in 2016 and it is only 2013. It is always great sport for the GOP to sling mud at the President, but they really want to get at former Sen. and Sec. of State Clinton.

    1. Ann Carnes May 8, 2013

I just posted this same thing in response to someone else. Hell yes, Bush has been tried and convicted overseas, the same should be done here for him and all his co-conspirators. I think we should start a petition on the WH website.

      1. Betta May 8, 2013

Yep and that’s why bushboy can’t step foot over there because he would be arrested for war crimes. He was to go overseas somewhere and give a speech. It was canceled when he found out he’s a wanted criminal over there. He’s done things that his daddy had swept under the rug. Things for which he should be in prison for.

Before he became president, Georgie boy ran three businesses into the ground. Count ’em…three businesses he ran into the ground. In addition to this, he was involved in some insider trading years back and daddy had that covered up. All this info is available online.

Jeb Bush for prez? Oh HELL to the NO! We had enough of that crime family as well. Stay out the bushes.

What is particularly disgusting about the refusal of the GOP to get about
the business of running the Country. Which once upon a time, they too
believed, was the reason their constituents elected them in the first place.
Paid their salaries. But no more. Their attitude continues to be, since we’re
not in complete control, screw everybody! We aren’t going to life a finger
to do anything that might be misconstrued as working with President Obama.
And, what is sickening, they couldn’t be more happy about the incident in
Benghazi, if they had planned, and paid the terrorists to do it, themselves.
It’s right up their back ally. And, what makes Benghazi all the more attractive,
is, if they manage to pump enough air into it, it might hurt the woman poised to
kick their lying asses in 2016. And they figure, we have no plans of doing
    anything, anyway.

Mr. Conason; Pres. Obama should have been impeached long ago for violating his oath to protect and defend the constitution. Issuing Executive Orders which clearly are beyond his authority and selectively enforcing only laws he likes are impeachable offenses.

    1. Madelaine Ayers Henne May 8, 2013

Obama has issued fewer executive orders than any President in the last 100 years! Look it up! Don’t make stupid remarks withoug checking facts!!

      1. Tom_D44 May 8, 2013

It’s not about the number of executive orders but rather the content or intent. That is the big difference and if you have been paying attention you would understand that.

        1. Sand_Cat May 8, 2013

If you had a mind, you might realize just how stupid and delusional your little rejoinder is.

    2. Sand_Cat May 8, 2013

ITo the very limited extent that your little screed is true, Obama had an incredibly prolific teacher in his immediate predecessor, who abused executive orders, signing statements, and refusal to enforce laws he didn’t like (the first three are objectively verifiable; I’m sure you’ll never admit them) far more than his successor, or any of his predecessors (except perhaps Reagn in the failure to enforce category) for a long, long time back.

But go ahead and keep showing off you ignorance and prejudice: we know you hate Obama, but it’s always nice to have proof you’re stupid as well.

  17. oldtack May 8, 2013

In 1918 at the end of World War I a young German soldier was assigned to the spy unit of the government to ferret out subversive groups. While doing this he found a group, the German Workers Party, that he liked. He, therefore, left the Army and joined this “Christian” group. In 1919 he became the leader and changed the name of this Organization to the National German Workers Party (NAZI Party). Hi name was Adolph Hitler. Hitler – a Christian? Yes indeed. He proclaimed Christianity and the newly formed NAZI party regarded itself as Christian people with a great desire to oust the corrupt leaders in Government and bring Germany back to greatness as a Christian Nation.

In 1923 this group of “Christians” attempted a Coup which failed with many members killed by the terrible Government. Hitler was imprisoned at Landau where he met another Zealot, Rudolph Hess, who helped Adolph Hitler write his “Infamous” book -Mein Kampf (My Struggle). After a few months in prison Hitler was released and began once more building and solidifying the new Party. To do so he enlisted the help of a young Zealot named Joseph Goebbels and placed him in charge of Propaganda. Goebbels was a good choice and he excelled at his position. The propaganda appeal was made to the average German working class under the guise of Christian Zeal. Being basically of the Christian belief the citizens embraced this
New Party that was to save the Nation..

Somewhere in this mess the Christian belief became convoluted. Instead of the Bible “Jews being the Chosen ones of God” the Ayran race became the chosen ones and for purity of the chosen race, emulating Christ in the Temple ousting the evill “money changers” the Jews were driven from their homes and businesses and the rest is history culminating in the holocaust..

The NAZI Party, under the guise of a Christian based Party enveloped the entire Country. They accomplished this through well planned PROPAGANDA that worked through fomenting of suspicion of all opposition and through creation of unbridled suspicion and hate. They kept repeating the same rhetoric until the people were consumed by a feeding frenzy of FEAR.

Does this sound familiar to today? NAZI Party/TEA Party. Carefully crafted propaganda to foment a virtual feeding frenzy of FEAR among the populace – all under the auspice of CHRISTIANITY. A totally FAKE representation of True Christianity that I and multitudes of others embrace.

    Wake up folks.
The Old GOP is one thing-they’re tolerable and reasonable. This new TEA PARTY is a danger and will ,through fear mongering and money, destroy this Nation as we know it.

    1. InsideEye May 9, 2013

The Tea Party is a contrivance and it is almost laughable to see people squirm at their existence. They are very well, but inaccurately characterized to be representative of great evil, but all that they represent is self reliant libertarianism at worse.

      1. oldtack May 9, 2013

What you are seeing is what the German citizens saw from 1919 to 1924 – before the Nazi Party gained power. Like the Tea Party they espoused Christian ethics and self-reliance from the oppressive Government.. What the Tea Party is doing now is what the National Socialist Party did until they gained absolute control of the Government. Then, from 1934 forward the German citizens found themselves controlled by an oppressive force and they dared not protest. Check records and you will find multitudes of those that died in the death camps were not Jews – they were German citizens that dared to oppose the Reich. Like the Tea Party – the Reich was never wrong.

To you this may appear to be fear mongering and I respect your right to believe that. But – history does repeat itself . Please do research on the Chronology of the rise of Hitler and the third Reich. Compare it to the rise of the Tea Party and the scenario is eerily familiar.

Though we “agree” to disagree, thanks for your post.

        1. InsideEye May 10, 2013

Can that not also be said of the O’bama Tea m Party ?
Interesting comparisons can be made out of these scenarios. The Bible is full of explanations on why God should /must exist. are we making the same characterizations here. ? I have seen nothing Erily similar…..but we all have interests to protect, and ican use your logic as an opposite argument. Perhaps a point by point argument can be had…welcomed here from me.

          1. oldtack May 10, 2013

            Thanks for your reply .

I note your reference to the Bible. For the record – .I am not an atheist nor a communist nor a heathen. I am of the Christian faith.

Through history any group that aspires to control parades under the guise of God and Faith according to whatever the prevailing “Faith” is in the place they want to gain power. This is true whether it be Ra or Baal, Allah, Budda or Man Above.

In Germany as in this Country Christianity seems to appeal to more people whether they practice this faith or go fishing on Sunday. If something sounds righteous and good and for a cause in defense of Christian principles they will follow.

All people have an inherent “faith” in something more powerful than they. Even in the most remote parts of the planet and the most primitive tribes. I argue that even Atheists have a “faith” as it were.

When one follows the chronology from inception – there is a close correlation between the rise of the Tea Party and the rise of the Nazi party.

Maybe this is just a manifestation of the Machavalian (misspelled) Principle?

          2. InsideEye May 10, 2013

Use of Bible was to illustrate that we are using superficial happenings to explain the doings of a God or ……
tea-party – your argument… and…. my argument can be that ….Obamas team is putting together a Socialist Party/Regime to gain control in the same way that you are proposing that Tea Party is doing. (dangling gerund) not you.

          3. oldtack May 10, 2013

I see the similarity on both sides of the aisle so to speak.

Among other aims, Machiavelli supported the following “ideology”

“Moral consideration is irrelevant in affairs of State. The only thing that should affect is what is best for the Kingdom “Nation” and the people – even if that means deceit or murder.”

I consider our present Method of Governing in a sad state of affairs and spreads back to at least 60 years ago at minimum. But – it is salvageable.

I am leery of a “new Age” that plays on “Religious zeal” and attack to gain control.

Sounds too much like Machiavelli -or Hitler.

      2. rustacus21 May 19, 2013

… & as we ALL well know, OUR Constitution is in NO WAYS a libertarian document, but rather, a LIBERAL/PROGRESSIVE oriented method & process of governance. Conservatives & libertarians drive themselves nuts trying to ‘RE-MAKE’ the Constitution into something it is not nor can ever be & each time they try, they fail & it is the common, ordinary Middle Class & working poor citizens who are SAVAGED as a result. This is what we Liberal/Progressives MUST hammer home at every opportunity – if conservatism/libertarianism are such great ideas, why do they only work on paper & NOT in the real world?! Aside from that, Carter, Clinton & now Obama, as well as all Dem’s, have been the targets of conservative wrath since nixon & its time to hit back! After all, it’s still NOT too late to level ‘war-crimes’ charges on those who made the decision to do so, in ’01 & well before SEPTEMBER – in fact…

  19. Pi_Boson May 8, 2013

The GOP and its sociopathic affiliates will never let facts get in the way. Th results of Stanford in S Carolina shows how republicans have no principles and care less about facts. They simply want more close-minded, deceit-based neocons doing their bidding. That is why the GOP is so steadfast with the NRA – very low self-esteem.

    Watergate? Worse than?

When I was a lad watching Watergate go down, I wondered and asked a question that went entirely ignored. Why did Nixon have his men break into the Dem HQ in the first place?

To spy on them of course. This answer stank, so why DID they break in?

When LBJ was negotiating with North Vietnam on a treaty, Nixon sent his men in and bribed the NV leadership to refuse Johnson for a possibly better deal after Nixon won the election.

That better deal ended up being years of more war with MILLIONS of dead Asians and 50K American dead. Sure it was a better deal, for stockholders of Northrup Grumman, Boeing, Rand, et al.

There was a lost memo proving this bit of historical treason. Looking everywhere possible failed to turn it up. Of course LBJ and his crafty team stole it, so Nixon had his henchmen scour the Watergate offices to take it back from them.

This little bit of headline news has gone completely ignored since the Nixon Library unclassified these documents. I imagine the 18 minutes of tape erased may have been about this bit of disgraceful treason.

It’s all there on the Google, Nixon treason.

    1. jarheadgene May 8, 2013

OR…..was NIXON afraid they “the Democrats” had “the goods” on him and the Coup d’etat he committed by helping to kill JFK….REMEMBER LBJ had already announced he was not seeking re-election. As an American President you have the ability to send in the Marines, anytime, anywhere, w/out an act of congress to STOMP anyone. So I’ve always asked WHY …..? Why did Tricky Dick resign in disgrace over the break in of an office? Maybe because he was guilty of treason by partaking in the assasination. Gee and who was one of his lead councils…..why none other than the dark lord himself another DICK. who “was too busy” to get drafted in Vietnam. HolyReality, Presidents get away with all kinds of things….killing another President is NOT one of them. I myself would not have questioned the shooting skills of a lone ex-marine, except for the Zapruder film, the cover-up gets exposed with that. Prescott Bush was a NAZI lover…he was Tricky Dicks Mentor and W’s granddaddy. Prescott Bush’s bank had it assests temporarily siezed, by J.Edgar Hoover, because of his dealings with the NAZI’s. Prescott Bush….Dick Nixon,…Dick Cheney…the Koch Bros. are all LOVERS of GOLD…..Too late for Prescott and Nixon, Cheney and the Kochs they can still repent and start doing good. OR……BURN IN HELL!

  21. elw May 8, 2013

Again the Republicans are making up facts, twisting history in order to prove their wishful dreaming. The impeachment of President Clinton did nothing to help their reputation, popularity or cause. It hurt them just like their pick of a presidential candidate in 2012 that had nothing to offer the majority of American voters and their ongoing war against people of color, women and non-Christians. Nothing you or I say is going to stop them on their stupid quest to try and impeach a very popular President. In fact, their choice to try and impeach President Obama will only serve them in a negative fashion. Their actions and words will continue to be material for the late night, political comedians; their lies and twisted truths will be pointed out by the fact-checkers, earn them the disrespect of the voters and help them lose the next election. In other words, they are losers.

  22. Lovefacts May 8, 2013

I am so fed up with this BS. So, before anyone attacks what I’m going to say understand my DH is retired CIA and I worked for the CIA in counter terrorism.
The talking heads and Republican politicians have no concept of the difference between Embassies and Consulates and the protection provided. Benghazi was a consulate. To get the troops to Benghazi would have meant taking troops from the Embassy in Tripoli.

Consulates seldom have armed protection. Many are in office buildings. However, armed troops won’t have protected the Benghazi Consulate. It was firebombed not attacked.
As someone who has lived overseas for 25+ and spent 15+ years working in Embassies and Consulates, I’m fed up with people attacking Obama and Clinton over things they had no control of. I’m fed up hearing form people who have no concept of what is involved living and working overseas and the PTSD many of us suffer from due to the high risk environments we live in. Just once, I’d like to see fellow Americans stop and think before they hunt for a reason to spew their hatred when they have no knowledge of what really goes on in embassies or consulates.

    1. America the Free May 9, 2013

What I have to say to you is…. It also matters to me that we were lied to in order to protect Obama’s election? The testimony yesterday makes it clear to me that there is NO ONE who thought there was a protest going on. The white house clearly knew rocket launchers were used. How many people do you know bring rocket launchers to a protest? And we aren’t talking about protection of a consulate. We are talking about protection of our Ambassador, who is in the Middle East, where he serves, on the Anniversary of a terrorist attack on our country. Seems like a no-brainer to me that he needed extra protection! And he asked for it and it was denied. This is what I am tired of…. the democrats have decided to “spin” this as a “witch hunt” for Hillary. This is a hunt for the truth. The only ones in yesterday’s hearings that didn’t seem to care at all about finding out the truth were the Democrats. Who, instead of asking questions, spent there time grandstanding about the whole thing.

      1. Angela Walker May 9, 2013

I won’t expect reason or understanding from someone who over waves the flag with a user name like that, but what the heck. This is no hunt for the “truth”. If you were able to step away from your right wing media addiction you might recognize that simple fact.
Regardless, this witch hunt will gain no converts, will only make the GOP/Tea Party look even more out of touch with reality, and you and your ilk will have to live with the reality that most American citizens think of you as far right fringe. And so once again you will simply have to accept the reality that your paranoid fantasy places you in a corner, a corner that will be forgotten and ignored while the adults get on with business.

      2. RAWoD May 9, 2013

Hey jerk — the executive branch requested increased funding for State department security and the GOP voted No.l So take your BS and shove it where the sun don’t shine.

      3. rustacus21 May 19, 2013

… please stop that. U know that’s not true, just as U know the reason Benghazi continues being resurrected is to damage BOTH the Prez & Hillary Clinton. We have HAD all the information needed to conclude, as ‘LoveFacts’ so eloquently stated, if the Consulate staff felt threatened, they did what was necessary in the events-chain to get more security. Knowing what U do about ‘brains’ & ‘budgets’, U certainly know we have the government we pay for, in this age of conservative austerity. & thus, U certainly aren’t so ignorant as to believe among the many departmental victims of conservative austerity, the Prez would make an exclusive waiver, in the summer of 2012, to this particular consul installation, above all others? The same Prez that the press was already beating up on for bringing facts to the media about the choice between he & Romney? The same Prez that was being assailed b/c of a lack of jobs leading to the lack tax revenue, leading to a lack of available funding for emergencies seen by the consul staff? A consul, by the way, that the Prez ‘micro-managed’ to the point that he CLEARLY KNEW of the types/quantities of weapons in the hands of enemies in Libya? As I say, stop w/that already. As a ‘victim’ of the Fox Network, U’r PTSD is the ONLY clear thing here…

        1. America the Free May 20, 2013

I’m not going to stop questioning. Thank goodness it’s still a free country. I followed this story MORE THAN ANY news media outlet seem to care. There is smoke here…and where there is smoke their is fire. They lied. They covered up something. (I still don’t think we are even close to what exactly was being covered up) And I STILL want to know who gave the stand down order! And why most of the rest of the country isn’t screaming the same question confuses me! How you could not care why they didn’t even want to save our Ambassador is just as baffling?

And yes, it was Widely reported about the types of weapons used even the next day. And it was widely reported outside the US that it was a terrorist attack with no mention of a video! Aren’t you a little pissed off to live in a country where either the media blatantly lied to you or lazily just reported the white house reports without investigating? (Not sure which..but it’s one or the other) Makes you feel a bit like your living in USSR in the 70’s, doesn’t it? It should!

BTW I don’t watch much of any of the US media. It’s tainted and skewed and not really news anymore. So stop assuming I’m some sort of Fox News fan. It’s not a good idea to ever make assumptions!

  23. CooofNJ May 8, 2013

But if Obama is impeached (doubtful) and removed from office (even more doubtful) then doesn’t Joe Biden become President? Isn’t he even more dis-repected (if that is possible) than Obama? How does removing Obama from office in any way shape or form help ANYONE in the Republican party? Clinton was impeached (and not removed from office) and arguably that did nothing to help Republicans win the White House in 2000. I simply do not understand what the point is, except to waste taxpayer money and secure speaking spots on TV talk shows.

    1. plc97477 May 8, 2013

What better point than that. There is also the hope of making it seem as if Obama is incompetent.

  24. Jim Myers May 8, 2013

The mentality of the people who want to impeach President Obama never ceases to amaze me.

While the Dunce was busy thumping his chest, and changing the name of French Fries to Freedom Fries, (because the French wanted no part of the WMD fiasco, or a war in Iraq), nobody gave a thought to impeaching the President.

While he, and his trusty sidekick, Dick, were making a shambles of International politics, and changing the United States Of America from a country that was respected worldwide to one that became despised by allies and foes alike, there was no talk about impeachment.

When Dick Cheney, and his band of criminals, committed Treason, by outing Valerie Plame, (as retaliation against Joe Wilson, for telling the truth about Yellowcake Uranium), there was no talk about impeachment.

When the Constitution was violated multiple ways, and American citizens were spied upon, ON AMERICAN SOIL, there was no call for impeachment.

With the countless crimes against humanity, and against our own citizens, became the new “Normal”, there was no call for impeachment.

When anyone who didn’t agree with the White House, or spoke out for Liberal causes, the response was to ridicule them as “Un-American”.

And now these so called “Defenders of Freedom” want to impeach President Obama.

If someone from an alien planet came here to our world, and read all of this, they would assume it to be fiction.

Because nobody in their right mind, human or alien, could possibly think this all makes sense.

  25. charleo1 May 8, 2013

Before they loss their minds completely they should at least read those pocket Constitution’s that they are suppose to be carrying around with them and read the part about impeachment. What a clown show complete with faux outrage.

  28. Andrew Rei May 8, 2013

NDFL (nearly dead from laughing, an acronym I invented seven weeks ago)…I sent Mr. Huckabee a message on his Facebook page. I told him he needs a reality check about impeachment and kicking a President (or SCOTUS justice) out of office. The American Fascist Aristocrats Party (my truthful new name for the GOP/Republicans) need 290 votes in the US House to impeach (they’d be lucky to get 230) and 67 votes, after a trial, in the US Senate to kick him out (they’re 22 votes short of that).

The AFAP’s obsession with Benghazi is another example of the worst form of hypocrisy, called “Projection”. That’s a psychiatric ploy where someone or some group takes a weakness or fact they don’t like about themselves and “project” it upon an opponent or adversary. Note that it’s a “psychiatric ploy”, which confirms one of the 10 AFAP Tenets: insanity. And, the reason it’s projection? During the Bush 43 administration, a dozen US Embassies or Consulates OUTSIDE of Iraq and Afghanistan were attacked, resulting in the deaths of at least 50 Americans. Where were the hearings and investigation then? Oh, yeah, that’s right….there was an AFAP President in the White House…

  29. victoria_29 May 8, 2013

Gee what is 4 dead Americans right? Who cares that Obama lied to you fools & you bought it hook, line & sinker…..so progressives are upset that Obama & Hillary have been busted, well too bad so sad. Benghazi is not going away.

    1. Sand_Cat May 8, 2013

Your icon says everything we need to know about you. Why make it even more obvious you’re an ignorant moron with a strong racist streak?

  30. Siegfried Heydrich May 8, 2013

All this does is make clear the levels of desperation the GOP has reached. Their base is dwindling, and they HAVE to keep them motivated and engaged by hook or by crook, preferably both. No matter what the facts are, Fox will push the conspiracy meme simply because they don’t have anything else.

This exercise has less to do with Obama than Hillary Clinton, though, which is kind of silly, as she hasn’t even said that she’s running. And even if she does, by the time the campaign gets in gear, Benghazi will be about as relevant as Teapot Dome.

  31. ObozoMustGo May 8, 2013

Hmmmmmm…… Benghazi gets you leftist freaks in an uproar, doesn’t it? Wonder why. Nahhh… I don’t wonder why. It gets you all excited because Benghazi was a demonstration of absolute incompetence while it went on, and extreme cover up and political corruption afterwards. The 3 men testifying today as whistleblowers are giving testimony about what actually happened and how Cankles Clinton sought to block any attempts for them to respond to Congressional inquiries in the weeks following the incident. Further, they are testifying about how military assistance was denied them specifically and repeatedly was told to STAND DOWN while our Ambassador and 3 other brave men were slaughtered over a 9 hour period. They are also revealing how ANY other witnesses to the attack have been covered and blocked from ANY questioning by ANYONE investigating the incident. They are also revealing that Obozo, the Commander in Chief, DID NOTHING DURING THE ATTACKS. In fact, the only person that could order military to stand down is the President, not the Sec’y of State or the Sec’y of Defense. It was Obozo’s decision, and solely his decision, to leave those Americans to die!!!

The event and the attack were only incompetence, of which Americans have become much too accepting of with the Obozo regime. And incomptence is not impeachable, unfortunately. However, like Watergate, IT’S THE COVER UP AND THE BLOCKING OF THE INVESTIGATION THAT IS THE CRIME. IT’S THE ENCOURAGEMENT OR STRONG-ARMING OF WITNESSES TO LIE. This is impeachable, and Obozo deserves to be impeached. I’d even suggest that he be tried for treason and suffer the death penalty. But I’ll be satisfied with impeachment.

And don’t worry about Cankles Clinton…. her career is toast!!! She will be revealed to have perjored herself in testimony in January.

For all of you leftist freaks out there that believed and repeated the lie that the Benghazi attack was over a spontaneous protest because of a video, which Obozo, Cankles Clinton, Circus Clown Carney, Low IQ Rice, and all the other useful idiots repeated for 3 weeks, you should be ashamed of yourselves for being so gullible and stupid. Testimony already has revealed that Cankles herself was on the phone with Mr. Gregory Hicks, Deputy Chief of the Libyan Embassy, himself at 2AM discussing the attack and knew right from the start what was going on. Yet, she went on for 3 weeks repeating the lie about a video, and even blamed the video personally to the faces of the victims families during their casket return ceremony. She is pig and should be imprisoned for this. She should go to prison for perjury in Congressional testimony, also.

Now, let’s discuss WHY there was a cover-up in the first place. Knowing WHY Stevens was at a secret CIA mission site meeting with the Turkish Ambassador as his last meeting before the attack will answer that question. The reason he was there was because the Obozo regime was using his connections for brokering heavy arms and weapons to the Muzzy Brotherhood, Al Qaeda rebels in Syria through Turkey. This is where the real meat of the story is, and is why all of this was covered up in the first place. If during the election it was revealed that Obozo was dealing arms to RADICAL ISLAMIC TERROR GROUPS, he not only would have lost the election, but he would likely be in prison where he belongs by now.

The truth hurts you leftist freaks, doesn’t it? But it does not change the truth. Your messiah Obozo left Americans to die. Then he and his political cronies tried to cover it up for purely political reasons. And the useful idiots at The Memo and every other leftist propaganda outlet from ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSLSD, and every major newspaper, were complicit in the cover up by refusing to do their jobs because it threatened Obozo and their leftist agenda.

    Have a nice day!

“Based on information that we — our initial information — we saw no evidence to back up claims by others that this was a preplanned or premeditated attack; that we saw evidence that it was sparked by the reaction to this video.” – Jay Carney on Sept 17th
responding to questions about what caused the Benghazi attacks on the mission facility on on 9/11, despite email evidence that shows Obozo knew it was a terrorist attack moments after it started.

You’re still a useless idiot. Post as many racist cartoons based on paranoid fantasies as you like; that won’t change, though it would be nice if you posted them someplace else, idiot.

    2. metrognome3830 May 8, 2013

I’m not even going to attempt to reply to you today. You are way over the top. Were you this irrationally outraged when other presidents or their staff “mis-spoke” (as someone once put it?) Do you actually hate the president to such an extent that you will blindly ignore all the mistakes and criminal acts by previous presidents and administrations and heap racist and vitriolic attacks on Obama? Do you actually believe this kind of attack will cause sane people to abandon all reason and incriminate Obama without listening and at least trying to sort out fact from fiction? I fear you do. And I fear that this is the way our country is operating. And I believe it will do more to lead to our destruction than anything else we do. Your are a much more intelligent man than this, OMG.
Go home, have a drink — maybe two — listen to the news — if you can find some that isn’t slanted one way or the other. Take two aspirins and e-mail me in the morning.

      1. ObozoMustGo May 9, 2013

Metro… your attempt to NOT reply was foiled by……………… YOU, and your reply. I will reply to you, however. The answer is yes, I do hate Obozo. And I do not blindly ignore his criminal acts. The facts are known as follows:

        1) The attack in Benghazi was a coordinated terrorist attack with high-grade military weapons.

        2) The attack lasted nearly 9 hours.

        3) An American Abassador, the representative of OUR country ON American soil, was murdered along with a CIA tech guy.

        4) Within minutes of the attack, Stevens called the #2 guy in country, Mr. Hicks, to tell him that he was under attack.

        5) Mr. Hicks called together and immediately organized a team of special ops with the offer of assistance from the Libyan President who provided a C130 transport.

        6) Someon told Mr. Hicks’ group to “stand down” against the wishes of the men prepared to go defend the facility and people.

6.a) Two former Navy SEALs now working for the CIA refused to allow our people to die and went to the facility to rescue personnel and then returned to defend it while they awaited reinforcements. They battled for around 5 to 7 hours before being killed.

        7) Within hours, Mr. Hicks had conversations with fat ass Cankles Clinton regarding Mr. Stevens death. In that conversation, Mr. Hicks discussed the terror attack.

        8) Cankles KNEW it was a terrorist attack. Everyone in the DoD and State departments KNEW it was a coordinated attack and there was no such thing as a protest.

        9) Cankles, Obozo, Carney, Rice, and the rest of the sheet show of incompetent clowns proceeded to blame the incident on a “spontaneous protest that went wrong because of a hateful video” despite the fact that they knew the truth while it was going on.

        10) Cankles #1 sidekick EMAILED Mr. Hicks and others weeks later telling them to NOT cooperate with the Congressional delegation running an investigation into the matter.

        11) NONE… NOT A SINGLE WITNESS TO THE ATTACK… has been interviewed and questioned about what happened. In fact, all of them that were injured were brought to Bethesda and were admitted under false names.

        12) No one has a single clue where the hell Obozo was during an attack on an American Mission that lasted 9 hours and resulted in the death of 4 Americans including our Ambassador.

Here are the questions that MUST be answered:

        1) What was Stevens doing there in the most dangerous terrorist city on earth on the anniversary of 9/11 without security, and why was he meeting with the Turkish Ambassador there JUST BEFORE the attacks.

        2) Why would the Obozo regime continue to blame this incident on a stupid video that had NOTHING to do with the incident when they knew it was not true right from the initial moments of the attack? WHY WOULD THEY LIE?

        3) The Libyan President on Sept. 12th gave a public announcement about the terror attack being linked to Al Qaeda terror groups, and took the Obozo regime lies as an insult like any normal person would. He delayed FBI access to the site for 18 days because of that insult while the crime scene was left open to the public. Why would the Obozo regime deliberately thumb their nose at the Libyan President whom they helped install?

        4) Why was military assistance denied and not offered from the first moments of the attack? Don’t believe that lie that it would take too long to get there. You can buy a ticket on British Airways that will fly you from London to Tripoly in 3 hours. Dont be such a sucker.

        5) Why are all the witnesses to the attack still NOT being questioned and why are their names being withheld from Congress for giving testimony.

        6) Why would the Obozo regime obstruct the investigation by telling high level officials to not meet with Congressional investigators without regime appointed lawyers to keep them from answering anything?

        7) Where there are lies and there is obstruction coming from the highest ranks in government, why isn’t the media interested in this? This would be like Woodward DEFENDING Nixon during Watergate.

So, while I readily admit that I do hate Obozo, my hatred for him is immaterial to the case at hand. And so your love of your messiah should equally be immaterial to the case at hand, Metro. The only thing that matters is that the Obozo regime has been lying and obstructing. You MUST demand the truth. For you to not demand the truth about your beloved messiah is to make you worth less than you are, my friend.

Demand the truth, Metro. America deserves it. And don’t blame this on the fact that it’s just “political enemies out to get Obozo.” The fact of the mattter is that opposition is 100% necessary to being the counterbalance for the prevention of corruption. It works both ways. You should respect AND appreciate that there is opposition. Imagine the corruption that can happen from one party rule. You and I and no one else should want that.

One more point, Metro. I am surprised that you have stooped so low as to use the race card on me. You know better!! Shame on you!

        Have a nice day!

“I have made it clear that the United States government had nothing to do with this video,” – Barack Hussein Obozo in speech to UN General
        Assembly following the Benghazi attack

        1. metrognome3830 May 9, 2013

Good morning, OMG. I’m glad I gave you the opportunity to get that all off your chest. You’re right, it was a bit of cheap shot to call you racist. I don’t really believe you are. And I guess my non-reply did become a reply. I, for instance, don’t like Herman Cain. But not because he is black.
My point is, we still do not know, with any certainty, just what happened in Benghazi. Obama, I believe, immediately called it a terrorist attack. His administration, for whatever reason, apparently — OK, obviously — decided it was best to edit the facts and obfuscate. Not a tactic of which I would have approved. My stance is, let’s listen to the testimony and let’s see if we can hopefully get at some truth. I believe Mr. Hicks believes in what he saw and heard. I’m pretty sure he must have some pretty solid facts to back up what he is saying. If he is right — and I actually have a nagging feeling that he might be — then it’s time to start lopping off heads (figuratively speaking). I mean, he was there and I will, unless someone proves otherwise, believe in his honesty. Darrel Issa, on the other hand, I take with a pinch of salt. A man who attempted insurance fraud doesn’t quite get my all-out approval. But, even so, I will wait and see. It is too late to save the four lives lost in Benghazi, but it would be nice to know why it happened. Right now, neither you nor I know for sure. A lot of people have put forth their opinion (which many of them mistake for fact) on what happened. I don’t know why you think I would blindly follow the administration’s line just because they are Democrats. Like you, I want to know the truth. Until then, I will wait and see. Unlike you, I don’t see the reluctance by the news media to get at the truth. Perhaps it’s because, like too many people today, you want opinions that back up your opinions, not the news. News is news presented without bias and historically used to be fact-checked before presentation to the public. Opinion is opinion and should be clearly stated as such. Both should have their place, but too often in recent years, the line has become blurred. “News” has taken a back seat to “opinion.” There are several respected fact-checking sites, OMG. The problem is, that if they don’t agree with people’s pre-conceived opinion, they just dismiss them and continue spreading their unfounded rumors, lies and disinformation. I know I hate to be proven wrong, OMG. I’m sure you do too. But it happens to the best of us. If you really want the truth, you have to do the best you can to find the unabridged, unvarnished truth whether it agrees with you point of view or not.
Thus ends the sermon from the desert. I will now serve the crowd barbecued coyote with Indian fry bread. And I will hope that my next meal isn’t crow.
          Have a good day, OMG

          1. ObozoMustGo May 9, 2013

Hi Metro! I’ve heard your BBQ coyote is really remarkable. Can’t wait to try some. As to the crow, I’ll give you a reprieve on that no matter what happens. I don’t let me friends eat crow. 🙂 As to the racist comment, water under the bridge. I like Allen West and Herman Cain and multiple other people who share my views, regardless of skin color. And I despise losers like Harry Reid, Chuck Shumer and Nancy Piglosi regardless of skin color. You know that.

And Obozo did NOT call Benghazi a terrorist attack in the Rose Garden. That is a lie to change the narrative to cover another lie about the video. He made a generic statement about not giving in to terrorism in general, but it was in no way directed to the Benghazi attack at all.

I will have to disagree with you vehemently regarding the bias in the news media. It is 1000% true that this news media is over the top biased toward left wing ideology. When they are polled, more than 90% of them support DemonRATS. When their coverage is reviewed as either “positive or negative” on a given issue or person, it is overwhelmingly true that the leftist perspective or politicians are covered positively and the conservative perspective or politicians are covered negatively. It’s just the way it is. See the picture below with an admission of this fact from life long liberal Pat Caddell.

I of course agree with you on the lack of real journalism that pervades our media where one person opines and the rest report that opinion as though it’s fact without ever doing the backround and investigative work to verify something. This is pervasive among the traditional news media mostly, but does also happen at Fox. By the way, I rarely watch Fox. I get my news elsewhere, mostly the internet. If I do watch, I watch the other side like MSLSD just like I come here to this sewer called The Memo. I’m more comfortable in enemy territory fighting the fight than sitting on the sidelines for the most part.

At any rate, I have spent too much time on this site in the last few days and need to get back to work. Millions living on the government dole depend on me and others that actually work for their livings.

            Have a great day, Metro!

You are dumb as a box of rocks. (sorry for the insult, box of rocks). The only reason that our military did not offer some assistance, even if from jets flying over and maybe sending a precision missile or 2 to the terrorist mortar sites, was 100% because Obozo refused to offer help and decided to leave those men there to die. It’s hard for a useful idiot like you to accept, but that’s the only explanation that makes sense because Obozo is the only one that could give the order. Too many idiots like you have your head so far up that piece of garbage’s a$$ that you cannot see the truth.

For a Democrat the whole political process (in personal terms) is simply the framework upon which he or she makes a serious effort to achieve statesmanship, serving his or her country in the best possible way. For the yapping Republicans, nipping at patriots’ heels, the furthest to which they are capable of aspiring is simple election. Once in office they feel free to turn into hooligans, naughty traitors to their electorates jeering at the real men in government. And like a drunk who’s quit attempting to button up after relieving himself on the sidewalk, they no longer even try to cloak their loathsome mischief in the guise of Service.

Watergate Revenge: Republicans Yearning To Impeach Obama Over Benghazi ‘Cover-Up’…..
Turning the screws on a perceived “thief, liar, impostor, furriner, anti-Christ himself” is probably the closest those starchy and oh so “Christian” patriots (e.g., Boehner,McConnell, and their Teabagger “Masters”) will get to an actual orgasm.

Bu in their singular search for a purpose in their drab lives of politicking and scheming, they may completely overlook the possibility that they will have painted themselves into a corner, whence the only escape comes via their beloved “2nd Amendment solutions”…

Freedom and Liberty are NOT unlimited, and remember, tearing down an edifice, even as exalted as our Constitution, is EASY – rebuilding what’s been torn down, will take generations, if at all!

If Hillary runs she will be our next President. The Republicans are desperate and have nothing to do but try to be obstructionist. Why don’t the Republicans try to do their jobs instead of trying to be the party of no. Since 2010 could anyone tell me anything they have accomplished except naming post offices. Regarding the so-called Benghazi scandal what exactly are they alleging that she did. A cover up of an event where a bunch of Libyans attacked the Embassy in the period when the government was falling in the country. oh I know it is the cover up of who did it although everyone knew who did it. Let say she said Santa Clause attacked the embassy how is that a cover up since she was not the one who was investigating the attack or who provided the talking points, that was the job of the FBI and CIA, and not the State Department. If they really think that they can make this into something I would say go for it, but I think that will do more damage to themselves by pursuing this line of attack, but if it makes them feel good, go for it.

We respect to providing air support that was a military decision and they said they did not have the planes or the refueling tankers to respond to the attack for hours. But I guess the Republicans believe that if anything goes wrong in the world it would be

the responsibility of Hillary. It may be a strategy but I do not think that line of thinking will work with the American people. But hey, what else do they have to go with ? Fox News has been looking for a Watergate scandal and on five different occasions

they have announced an event on the air as being “bigger than Watergate.” during the administration of Obama. Their creditability is zero.

    Just a few questions:
    1. Who rejected more security after it was requested? Cummings tried to use Dem talking points about not getting a bigger budget, but had forgotten that had already been shot down. Adjunct question: Why wasn’t the President angry about someone denying more security?
    2. Who issued the ‘stand down’ order? Who authorized it?
    3. Who changed the talking points into a direct lie? When everyone at the White House and State knew it wasn’t a ‘video’, why wasn’t Rice corrected immediately after her first blunder? Why was the President, who claimed he knew it was a terrorist attack, still repeating that video lie two weeks later?

I know most of you would like to see this issue go away, but doesn’t it bother you just a little to be lied to by this government, especially when they promised you they would be different? Doesn’t it bother you that the people who serve America now can’t trust their government to have their backs?

  52. Barbara Morgan May 10, 2013

Instead of trying to impeach the President over Benghazi why don’t the Republicans impeach themselves.
