Senators Richard Burr and Mark Warner, the top Republican and Democrat on the intelligence committee, said they were disappointed by the Flynn rejection, but will “vigorously pursue” his testimony and documents related to the investigation.
We’ve seen this movie before. First it was one Clinton. Now it’s another. Just the names are changed. Remember the matter of President Clinton’s impeachment in 1999? Seems like yesterday.
By going through a gauntlet of partisan attacks face to face, and maintaining her composure throughout, Clinton will likely win over a whole new group of sincere supporters who hadn’t been on board with her before.
Her survival guide: Accept responsibility. Talk about the need for bipartisanship in a partisan town. And remind the audience how often she was in the Situation Room, making sensitive decisions alongside the president of the United States.
So here is yet another absurd episode, humiliating both for Rep. Trey Gowdy and the journalists who promoted this fraudulent story, and highly reminiscent of the bogus “criminal referral” leak that made the front page of the New York Times last summer.
House Democrats are taking the gloves off, after the Republican leadership’s public admission that the Benghazi committee is all a political game.
Watch as the committee’s lead Democrat, Elijah Cummings of Maryland, points to the political double-standard in the Planned Parenthood debate.
Suspicion grows that the leaks behind the bungled New York Times “criminal referral” story came from the Republican side of the House Select Committee on Benghazi chaired by Rep. Trey Gowdy.
Determining who leaked the phony “criminal referral” is important because – if we accept the ‘Times’ editors’ version – then one or more federal officials evidently tried under cover of anonymity to smear a presidential contender.
Given the New York Times’ deep bias against Hillary Clinton, nobody should be surprised by its embarrassing, inaccurate report of a non-existent “criminal referral” involving her.
Here we go again. Her hand forced by Darrell Issa, Trey Gowdy and other House Republicans, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) nominated five Democrats to the select committee created to re-investigate the 2012 Benghazi attacks. The number-one goal for these Democrats, it seems, is to keep pressure on Gowdy and their Republican counterparts. It’s sure to […]
By Richard Simon, Los Angeles Times WASHINGTON—The House Republican majority shot down a Democratic effort Thursday to condemn Rep. Darrell Issa, chairman of the House oversight committee, for the “disrespectful manner” in which he adjourned a hearing as the panel’s top Democrat was speaking. Wednesday’s hearing heightened partisan tensions in the Capitol and revived a debate […]
Things just aren’t going Rep. Darrell Issa’s (R-CA) way. After almost a year-long recess, on Wednesday Issa dismissed the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing on the IRS “scandal” after about 20 minutes. After former IRS official Lois Lerner exercised her Fifth Amendment right to refuse to testify, Issa saw no reason to continue the hearing. But […]
