Tonight: Third-Party Presidential Debate To Be Hosted By Larry King

Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party

In the midst of a nationwide focus on the final stretch of the Obama and Romney horse race, four presidential candidates will expound on their best ideas in a third-party presidential debate Tuesday night.

Veteran talk show host Larry King of CNN fame will moderate the debate, which will take place at the Hilton Chicago. However, none of the major cable news networks will be covering the event. Not CNN, Fox News, or MSNBC. Only Al-Jazeera English has chosen to broadcast the debate live.

The debate will be sponsored by the non-profit Free and Equal Elections Foundation, whose website will be live-streaming it online. Taking the stage tonight will be Jill Stein (Green Party), Rocky Anderson (Justice Party), Virgil Goode (Constitution Party), and Gary Johnson (Libertarian Party).

I certainly hope they will erode the ill informed Romney Republican Cartel!

    • I Also Heard He’s A 1% We Don’t Need No More 1% Greedy Thugs Trying To Run This Country In The Ground!!!

  • Gary Johnson could be a factor in Colorado, I’ve been reading

  • Though to be fair, none of the third party candidates are actually worth taking seriously this year. There’s no Perot or Nader — no candidate with a new set of ideas or a sense of presidential appeal. It’s just three blowhards and a stoner.

    • My brother in Denver says many of the papers are predicting Gary Johnson to take about 2.5 to 3 percent of the Republican vote which could (hopefully) give Obama the state.

  • I just hope the Binopolists don’t try to classify the independents as “some kind of Muslim sympathisers” from this being covered by Al-Jazeera.

  • we need a good constitution based fair minded and responsible public servant who can pull off a grass roots blindside on the reps and dems.We meed a real third party candidate like Linkoln. we don’t have one at this time. The greedy pigs in the Good ‘ol Boy Club will prevail. The whole thing looks pretty pathetic and ugly.

since there are 4 parties, 2 on the right and 2 on the left they will cancel each other out

  • where is Roseanne Barr? I figured she would get in on this.

  • These people should step back and allow the American people to decide who would be their leader for the next four years without spoilers. If they were significant candidates, they would have been considered in the debates and would be known on a national scale. They are spoilers, garbage cans for people who don’t want to cast their ballots for someone they feel angst about but don’t want to throw their vote away. They themselves should be ashamed to call themselves candidates for what, three votes from family, friends, church, or groups. Yes, they have a right to do so, but damn, man, do something sensible.

  • Unfortunately, none of the other party people have made an influential moves. Probablybecause they do not have financing. The two party system could use revision but we need parties with not only new ideas but combinations of some old ideas and some people who are good speakers and idea movers. it isn’t going to happen very soon.
