Governor Rick Perry (R-TX) will announce his future plans Monday at 2 PM EST in San Antonio, Texas. Perry, whose 2012 campaign for the Republican presidential nomination went down in flames after disastrous debate performances, is serving his third term as governor of the Lone Star state. He recently called a special session to enact legislation designed to place new restrictions on clinics that offer abortions, along with a ban on all abortions performed after the 20th week except when medically necessary.

Experts expect that he’ll start a PAC to support his fellow Republicans in 2014 with an eye to another presidential run.
