#EndorseThis: The Roaring Comic Monologue That Became Lincoln Project's Latest Ad

If you're on Twitter, you may have seen a pithy video posted and pinned by our friends at the Lincoln Project over the weekend. As images flash across the screen, the voice of a "regretful Trump voter" rapidly enumerates nearly everything that makes this president so unfit for office.

'That voiceover is from a very funny live bit by comedian David Cross – and we like the standup original from 2019 even better than the ad.

"I'm beginning to regret my vote for Trump," Cross begins, as the audience hoots. "I know, you guys," he continues, hesitantly. And then the list pours out. At the end he even twists the knife in Trump's Republican enablers.

#EndorseThis: Lincoln Project Appoints Kushner 'Secretary Of Failure'

Sooner or later, the Lincoln Project had to train its scope on Jared Kushner, Trump's empowered son-in-law who has botched every important assignment in the White House. With signature remorseless style, this ad explains how has failed all of them: "This pampered princeling has never met a problem that he couldn't f*ck up."

Sadly for 150,000 dead Americans and counting, one of those Kushner assignments was a strategy to contain the coronavirus pandemic. Typically, he has declared victory and accomplished nothing.

We warmly congratulate Jared on his new title: "Secretary of Failure."

#EndorseThis: Sarah Cooper And Lincoln Project Troll Trump On Twitter

Today's hilarious video is old but new again, rediscovered thanks to Sarah Cooper (and retweeted by those scamps at the Lincoln Project). As Sarah herself put it when she first posted this old Saturday Night Live clip: "Donald Trump reminds of this Fred Armisen character who can't finish a single sentence." We get the resemblance, although Armisen's goofy guy is far more benign than the current president. (Years later Trump posted a whiny tweet complaining about Armisen mocking him.)

As the Lincoln Project noted, "Omg." Enjoy.

#EndorseThis: New Lincoln Project Video Envisions Young Republican Waking From Long Coma

Rather than the typical 30-second or 60-second campaign ad, this latest video offering from the Lincoln Project runs long – over six minutes.

Indeed, "Wake Up" is really a little film that throws a big punch at every Republican who is still with Trump.

The plot is simple: A young Republican awakens in the hospital to see his family, all wearing masks at his bedside. Astonished to learn that he's been in a coma for more than three years, he asks what has happened. They tell him everything, much to his ultimate dismay.

This is a work of political cinema. Just click.
