Now Pence Claims Trump Has Abandoned Ban On Muslims Entering U.S.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Donald Trump has backed away from a total ban on Muslims entering the United States, vice presidential running mate Mike Pence said on Thursday, a shift from one of the Republican presidential candidate’s most provocative proposals.

Trump’s call last December for “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States” followed an Islamic State-inspired mass shooting in San Bernardino, California, by a husband-and-wife team.

Critics have called the proposed ban discriminatory and probably a violation of the U.S. Constitution’s guarantee of freedom of religion, and Democrats have used Trump’s policy to declare him a bigot.

In recent months, Trump has said he would suspend immigration from countries where Islamist militants are active but has left vague as to whether this amounted to a narrowing or an expansion of his original policy position.Pence said in a round of television interviews that if elected on Nov. 8, Trump would suspend immigration from “countries that have been compromised by terrorism.”

Asked if this amounted to a ban on Muslims, Pence said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” show: “Of course not.”

On CNN’s “New Day,” Pence was asked why, given that he had been against the ban before becoming Trump’s running mate, he was not opposing it now.”

“Well, because it’s not Donald Trump’s position now,” replied Pence.

I think Agatha and his little buddies are so befuddled by these latest events and shifts in Trumpville that they’re convalescing in some wooded area.

What a convenient change in policy now that his numbers aren’t improving. Trump and Pence need to realize most voters already made their minds up in spite of the media’s
    comments to the contrary.

What’s new. Virtually everything Donald Trump says is like the wind; just wait a little and it will change direction. Anyone who thinks they know what Donald Trump would do if elected president is kidding themselves. I don’t think even Donald Trump has a clue as to what he would end up doing if Americans were ignorant enough to elect him president. (My hunch is he would fold up his arms, look and Pence and say – “It’s all yours buddy. Have at it!!” Donald Trump doesn’t know what the word ‘work’ really means; certainly not as it applies to the most stressful job on the planet.)

      I wonder if a President-Elect can be impeached….

What say we have him give up HIS Secret Service detail and make him hire private security to protect him from the folks he has dissed over the course of this campaign.

Given the number of potential felonies that have either been charged, or have been pointed out that he’s committed even during the campaign, I’m really surprised that the election committee hasn’t come out and barred him from running for president.

Why is it that election committee allowing a candidate to continue tend up being convictions of felonies; and has also committed at least one verified campaign felony already by promising Carson a position in his administration for his endorsements (which is punishable by 2 years in jail) and most likely did the same with Christie and maybe Guiliani and others. And it’s just recently been discovered he used funds from what was supposed to be a charitable foundation to fund his campaign, which is another felony. Why is Trump still being allowed to run??? This is absurd!!!

Is the election committee wanting someone who is clearly a crook to win an election for president???

Yes. If you haven’t figure this out by now, our entire system is frigging corrupt, both Dems and Cons. But it’s not a both side do it thing because the Cons are absolutely evil lying disgusting pukes who profit from the ignorance of others. Whereas the Dems are just the usual lying corrupt politicians.

it’s worth pointing out once again that Trump is so dumb even at being a racist that he built a casino in the image of the world’s most famous work of Muslim architecture.

I just think it’s wonderful. He probably has no idea what the Taj Mahal – which, as well as being a tomb, is A MOSQUE – actually is.

Ok so who is the Republican Presidential candidate again? Is Pence now running instead?

Now that “Moe” has duped the denizens of Trumpland with his obscene and Nazi-like proposal of banning, he and “”Curly” felt it appropriate to put that hair-brained idea on the back burner.
Stay tuned for more shifting as they continue practicing the “Carson and Rudy Shuffle”—their version of Hip Hop.
