Comedian and human-rights activist Conan O’ Brien captures a certain dry humor in this Thursday morning clip from CNN, and that’s not easy for a man who is facing-down the President of the United States.

On his way to a surprise goodwill-trip to Haiti, a journey made in direct response to President Trump’s condemnation of the country as a “s***hole,” Conan hits the nail on the head. “Attitude,” says the 54-year-old icon, dismissing the debate over what exactly Trump said in the White House. “It’s the attitude behind it, which is to dismiss giant swaths of the globe we all live on.”

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer

Washington (AFP) - Republicans in the US Senate prevented action Thursday on a bill to address domestic terrorism in the wake of a racist massacre at a grocery store in upstate New York.

Democrats had been expecting defeat but were seeking to use the procedural vote to highlight Republican opposition to tougher gun control measures following a second massacre at a Texas elementary school on Tuesday.
