UK Home Secretary Priti Patel is set announce plans to designate Hamas’ political wing a terrorist organisation after lambasting it as “fundamentally and rabidly antisemitic”. Currently, the only the Palestinian faction’s military wing is proscribed as such, but in a speech later today at the right-wing Heritage Foundation in Washington DC, Patel will announce a ban on the entire organisation and aims to push through the change in Parliament next week. The fight over how to deal with the classified documents that Donald Trump stole from the White House and hid away in Mar-a-Lago is continuing with rulings both from the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals and in the courtroom of “special master” Judge Raymond Dearie. In the past two days, both of those locations have handed Trump’s team of second-rate lawyers major defeats, with a stay that allows the Department of Justice to continue a criminal investigation, and a ruling that Trump’s vague claims about “declassification” are off the table.
