Disgraced Former Kennedy Center Chief Makes An Embarrassing Confession

Richard Grenell, who left President Donald Trump's Kennedy Center under a cloud of controversy, has suffered another public embarrassment after admitting that he lost another Trump administration job — and not even recently.

"A high-profile 'special envoy' for Donald Trump has admitted to the Daily Beast that his role secretly ended months ago," reported The Daily Beast's Julia Ornedo on Monday. "Ric Grenell, 60, is no longer the U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Special Missions, he told the Daily Beast on Monday. A State Department official also confirmed that he is no longer employed by the agency."

Ornedo added, "Grenell said that his time had ended in February of this year and claimed his appointment as special envoy was always meant to expire when it did. The Daily Beast could find no previous public statement giving such an expiry date."

The journalist continued, "Grenell, a prolific social media poster, had never acknowledged the end of his role until now—when he finds himself in the middle of a growing scandal over allegations that cash vanished from a donation to the Kennedy Center, which he also ran under Trump."

Grenell actually left his position as president and executive director of the Kennedy Center after his foreign policy stint ended. He departed the Kennedy Center amid a Trump-ordered investigation into whether he had misused millions of dollars donated to the performing arts institution during his tenure. He also struggled as Kennedy Center head to improve ticket sales, which flagged once Trump took over the center and tried to name it after himself.

Grenell reported exploded after The Athletic reported on those lagging sales, disputing claims that they had seen a 50 percent drop and that the international soccer federation FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) was "paying the Kennedy Center more than $7 million to do their world-wide event FIFA draw" in December 2025 through various "sponsorship opportunities" and a $2.4 million donation.

"The bloggers quoted a failed dance programmer who wasn’t able to pay for the ideas she came up with at the KC - and who traveled the world watching other dance programs - expecting her salary and travel expenses to still be paid by someone," Grenell claimed. "We fired her for being unable to lead with fiscal responsibility. What these far left radical reporters never grasp is how responsible leaders must pay the bills."

The longtime politician and Republican insider, who also served as Trump's ambassador to Germany during his first term, has suffered other recent embarrassments in his career with Trump. Even though Grenell is reported to have advised against the decision, Trump chose Katherine "Katie" Zacharia to be his press secretary. Zacharia was quickly forced to resign after her sole press conference performance was widely panned as amateurish and it came out she misled the public about going to law school.

Tate Brothers

All Choked Up: Enabled By Trump, Tate Brothers Strangle Women And The Law

“Slap, slap, grab, choke. Shut up, bitch. Sex.” – Andrew Tate

For more than a decade, Andrew Tate has publicly advocated for and bragged about personally choking, slapping, and violently dominating women into submission across dozens of podcasts, interviews and online broadcasts. Rumble, the video hosting service backed by investments from the likes of Peter Thiel and JD Vance, paid Tate at least $6 million a year to spread his brand of propagandized violence against women.

During that same period, at least eight women have publicly alleged that Andrew or his brother Tristan Tate strangled them during sex, several saying they lost consciousness. They include Lauren Southern, Brianna Stern, three women pseudonymously quoted in the New Yorker, and four anonymous women in a UK civil case. The brothers deny the allegations, but given their long public history of bragging about doing exactly that to unnamed women, their denials ring hollow.

The Tate brothers are Sons of Epstein. There is an ideological and criminal lineage between the Boomer global sex trafficker and these Millennial monsters: shared misogyny, assumption of impunity, underage victims, and of course, the pimping business model. Only the style has been updated. Every video of the brothers oozes psychopathy. Their brand of caricatured manhood is derangement on steroids.

To our shame, the American government has treated these stranglers like international heroes instead of global pariahs and a significant threat to women and girls worldwide.

One of the Trump administration’s first acts was helping the brothers escape rape and trafficking charges in Romania by flying them to Miami. Ric Grenell, a “diplomat” with the extra special title of Special Envoy for Special Missions of the United States, pressured Romanian officials to lay off the Tates, who had been released from prison but ordered to remain in the country. A month after Trump’s 2025 inauguration, they were out and delivered to Miami by private jet. No announcement, no explanation – unless you count this deleted Roger Stone tweet crediting Grenell:

Just another pair of freaks for the Predators Ball assembling in Washington.

A year and a half after getting his mojo back, Andrew was interviewed at the Milken Conference by Melania’s former “agent” and Trump Special Envoy for Global Partnerships Paolo Zampolli – who had just distinguished himself by having ICE deport the mother of his child. The Tates’ Trump-granted impunity and connections opened doors for them in Dubai, Russia and Kazakhstan.

Meanwhile, the brothers never stopped upselling their PHD (Pimping Hos Degree) to millions of men and boys. Their followers are a new class of young men who insult their female teachers and classmates, creating such a negative impact at schools that educators have held conferences about it.

The unofficial official administration position on this pair of stranglers came from occasional Laura Loomer walker, tiny incel Paul Ingrassia, who has called Andrew Tate the “embodiment of the ancient ideal of excellence” for his “sheer physical prowess,” “sharp as a tack” and full of “willpower and spirit.” Ingrassia has since been demoted from his personnel office perch near the White House inner circle to the GSA – not due to his support of the Tates, but because his Nazi-adjacent views came to light.

It turns out Ingrassia was not the Tates’ real White House connection. Don Jr. has called their prison time in Romania “absolute insanity.”

But according to reports in Forbes and the New York Times, the real Tate link is the Boo Radley of the Trump family: Barron Trump. During the 2024 campaign, Barron reportedly became such a fan of the Tates that he turned his father onto the notion that they could help him with young men.

Barron has largely escaped scrutiny. First, because he arrived on the national scene as a preteen. And second, just by virtue of the parental combination of an icy mother and a depraved father. Now a young adult, this towering spectral figure, publicly silent, still gets a pass, despite reportedly being tied not only to the Tates but also to the family crypto business and rumors that he cashes in on prediction markets via insider knowledge of his father’s antics.

Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) has formally asked the House Oversight Committee to investigate the Tates’ access to the administration, including subpoenaing Barron Trump to determine whether he used his position to interfere in any of the brothers’ legal proceedings.

Her request is completely reasonable: investigating why and how the Trump administration aided two men credibly accused by at least eight women of strangling them – some to the point of unconsciousness – is at least as urgent as the Epstein investigation.

Naturally, her office has been deluged with hate mail for daring to suggest Barron answer for himself.

Beyond exposing the Trump incels and misogynists who welcomed the stranglers back onto American soil, the Rumble platform should be investigated for giving the brothers a $6 million contract (that Andrew Tate claims was actually $9 million) and platform from which to spew their violent misogyny.

In a functioning civil society, women and girls would have some avenue to sue the Tates, along with the companies that have disseminated their messaging. This isn’t just hate speech. It has quantifiable effects. Researchers are finding that the increasingly common teen habit of strangling women during sex has become so widespread that young women are suffering brain damage. That research briefly made headlines and disappeared while Andrew Tate continued proselytizing to millions of boys in junior high (and maybe, younger, who knows) that nearly murdering a woman can be sexually gratifying.

Tate stans blame women instead. John Mac Ghlionn wrote in the Hill last year:

Schools, particularly in Western countries, have become increasingly hostile to traditional expressions of masculinity. Boys are expected to behave like girls — to sit still, be passive and suppress their natural instincts ... A toxic society, not toxic masculinity, made Andrew Tate famous.

This combination of whining – hostile to traditional expressions of masculinity – and sweeping framing – Western countries – rather than just, say, Oberlin, is standard rhetorical fare among the MAGA literati.

Cheering on men who publicly celebrate – and are credibly accused by multiple women of – choking women to unconsciousness are laundered into soldiers in Project 2025’s greater campaign against feminism.

That narrative began to crack on July 19, when the Brits decided to not only reopen their investigation but to add dozens of new charges. They may have been shamed into action after journalist Heidi Blake published her exhaustively reported New Yorker article in early June, documenting harrowing stories from women in England, Romania, and elsewhere. (If Blake doesn’t win a Pulitzer, the oversight will rank up there with the egregious long delay in Julie K. Brown’s recognition for her 2018 Epstein series in the Miami Herald.)

After the arrests, there was a burp of MAGA support online. But as the deeply distracted, disaster-ravaged White House hasn’t signaled it will get involved, the usual suspects have not been stepping up. That includes women like Trump lawyer Alina Habba, who once told Andrew Tate on his podcast, “I’ve got your back.”

The Tates’ own lawyer (a meathead named Joe McBride who posts pictures of himself packed into suits like warm, rancid sausage in a casing) warns that comparing his client to Epstein will get him murdered in jail.

Desperate to get some traction with Big Daddy, McBride is using Twitter to try to gin up conspiracy theories, curry favor with Trump, play the commie card, and threaten Rep. Ansari – sometimes all in a single post:

If Andrew Tate were free, he would be dismantling this communist psychopath in real time and raising an army to unseat her for going after Barron Trump.
The Tate Bros are one of the most powerful weapons the conservative movement has.Their absence is the point.

The thing is, Tate is no Epstein. And Barron Trump, Ric Grenell, Paul Ingrassia, and Joe McBride are definitely not an assemblage of white shoe lawyers waiting to save his sorry ass.

Soon, one hopes, Andrew Tate will be pulling kitchen duty in prison, where inmates can line up and bark one of his favorite misogynistic slogans – the same one his legion of preteen fanboys have been scrawling on papers they turn in to their female teachers: “Make me a sandwich.”

How Trump Uses A 'Chum Cycle' To Promote Conspiracies And Attack Democracy

How Trump Uses A 'Chum Cycle' To Promote Conspiracies And Attack Democracy

President Donald Trump’s latest attack on American democracy relies on an old tactic. Throughout his second administration — and even dating back to his first — Trump appointees have laundered documents they claim prove Democratic and “deep state” malfeasance through credulous right-wing outlets, counting on MAGA media to amplify their conspiracy theories and hoping that mainstream outlets would pick them up as well. Now they’re applying the same playbook to election denial.

On Thursday night, Trump plans to use a White House address to relitigate his Big Lie that the 2020 election was stolen from him. While details are sparse, reports suggest he could use declassified intelligence documents to accuse China and Venezuela of election interference and target the 2020 Senate elections in Georgia. Allies in the election denial community have suggested such claims could be used as a "predicate" to declare a “national emergency” that would justify an executive order implementing voter suppression policies by fiat.

Right-wing journalist John Solomon and Trump crony Bill Pulte, recently installed by the president at the White House and as acting director of national intelligence, respectively, are reportedly leading the effort to scrounge up the documents Trump will use to make his case — and taking those records out of context to support his conspiracy theories (“They try to put bits and pieces together and then make these conclusions,” one administration official told MS NOW).

Such duplicitous methods are necessary because the 2020 election’s security has been litigated over and over again, with the intelligence community under Trump’s auspices finding “no indications that any foreign actor attempted to alter any technical aspect” of the voting process and the attorney general he appointed, William Barr, stating in December 2020 that “we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have effected a different outcome in the election.” But MAGA hacks like Benny Johnson and Steve Bannon are already frothing at the mouth over the speech, promising that it will bring about “doomsday for the deep state” and “change the direction of politics.”

The salvo Trump and his administration are telegraphing is incredibly dangerous — but it is simply the election denial version of what they’ve previously tried to do to delegitimize the federal probes of Russian interference in the 2016 election, Trump’s retention of classified documents, and his role in the January 6 insurrection, among other cases. I previously described this tactic as the Trump administration’s "chum cycle":

The Trump administration chums the waters by handing over documents related to one of the myriad past investigations into the president’s actions; the president, top Trump officials, and Republican officeholders say they show a massive scandal; and mainstream reporters point out their narrative is farcical while MAGA media stars call for the indictment, arrest, prosecution, jailing, and perhaps execution of their political enemies.

Amid one such campaign, which targeted former President Barack Obama, The New York Times reported that “Trump hopes enough information will be released by his intelligence appointees to muddy the waters and lend a patina of confusion about what Mr. Obama may have done, according to people familiar with his thinking.” Trump has tried to stock his administration with officials who will employ the same tactic to the same ends.

The innovation this time around seems to be that Trump is using a primetime White House address to detail the allegations, rather than merely using his social media platform or a Fox interview to accuse his enemies of crimes or misconduct.

The right used a “chum cycle” to muddy Russia, January 6, and classified documents probes

'Give Us Your Rapists And Millionaires': MAGA Welcomes Andrew Tate

'Give Us Your Rapists And Millionaires': MAGA Welcomes Andrew Tate

This is reprinted with permission from COURIER's American Freakshow newsletter.

At dawn Bucharest time yesterday, two stars of the worldwide misogynist movement boarded a plane in Romania, arranged for them by Trump’s regime, and soon sailed through the air across the Atlantic to Florida. Just when you thought the regime couldn’t get more vomitous, accused rapists Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were on their way to America, sprung by an adjudicated sexual assaulter who has extracted them from the Romanian justice system, with blithe insult to prosecutors in both Romania and the United Kingdom.

By evening, these incel-fluffing rapey freaks were likely to be ensconced in a Miami luxury highrise, sipping cocktails and live streaming themselves watching the sun set over the Everglades.

Tate and his brother were arrested near Bucharest in 2022 and charged with with rape, human trafficking, and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women. They have denied the allegations.

Tate’s grift relies on the tried and true “shock jock” calculus that provoking male insecurity about women is a sure fire way to get famous and maybe even rich. Major male podcasters (like American Dave Portnoy, a fellow “survivor” of sexual assault accusations) and television personalities Piers Morgan and Tucker Carlson have platformed him.

Online, his brand of rank misogyny and get-rich-quick male empowerment (for a time, he sold a pyramid scheme called Hustlers University) made him rich – Tate reportedly has 15 luxury cars in Romania. It also attracted a legion of teenage and young men around the world. His influence among middle school boys is such that academic papers have been published and online seminars presented to help educators worldwide deal with the Tate contagion of implied and actual violence against schoolgirls.

Tate’s resume includes not just domestic violence and rape propaganda but his own personal assaults on women: He was booted off the 2016 cast of the reality show Big Brother after a British tabloid published a video of him beating a woman with a belt. He claimed it was consensual. He also bragged that he broke a woman’s jaw in a bar fight: He said he “ended up in court” after he was charged with causing “bodily harm,” but “got away with it in the end.” He has been accused of violence against women repeatedly, including a standing case against him brought by four women in the UK, for which authorities were trying to extradite him from Romania.

At some point, he also had a career as an online pimp. He has stated that men should choose girlfriends under age 20 because they are less likely to have had sex and can more easily be “imprinted.”

In one interview, Morgan asked him whether he felt marketing naked girls on the internet was unethical. Tate replied that he kind of does now -- having converted to Islam -- but that at the time, he came to realize how “my girls” prevented suicides among unhappily married men.

His social media empire relies heavily on a global following of teen boys and incels that lap up his public misogyny. In 2017, as the #MeToo movement was in full swing, he tweeted that women should “bare [sic] some responsibility” for being sexually assaulted and, in general, blamed women for male violence. According to NBC, in 2022, Twitter “permanently banned his account.

But banning a rape celebrator from social media is so 2017!

Musk promptly let him back on, and as of today, his @Cobratate account has 10.7 million followers. On February 23, he posted a tweet with a video sprinkled with images of Trump doing his YMCA dance and Barron Trump gazing off into oblivion, as well as himself stalking hotel hallways, working out shirtless, and spewing his trademark rant about male empowerment including “You have to make a decision if you’re a winner or a loser, because if you’re a loser, you’re gonna hate the next four years!”

Today, the four British women who have accused him of rape and are still waiting for justice released a statement: “We are in disbelief and feel re-traumatised by the news that the Romanian authorities have given into pressure from the Trump administration to allow Andrew Tate to travel around Europe and to the US.” Their lawyers urged the UK government to intervene, saying it would be “a complete abdication of its responsibility to the victims if it stands by and lets this continue.”

One of their lawyers, Matthew Jury, called the release of the Tates “equal parts disgusting and dismaying” and said: “The UK authorities must take immediate steps to secure their extradition to the UK to face charges for the offences of human trafficking and rape they are alleged to have committed in this jurisdiction.”

Today, this far-right hero is being welcomed back to befoul our soil. He walks among us thanks to our MAGA friends, who installed the rapey-criminal Trump administration and whose predator’s ball would not be complete without a Tate or two.

Surely a coincidence, but the arrival of the Tate bros comes a day or two after Trump announced a Gold Card plan to sell American citizenships for $5 million each. And there is zero doubt who wants them here in this country.

According to the Financial Times a few weeks ago, Richard “Ric” Grenell, now Trump’s “Special Presidential Envoy for Special Missions of the United States,” personally leaned on the Romanian government at the Munich Security Conference to let the Tates out. The Romanian government at the time denied the pressure. But apparently, at some point before dawn on Thursday, they felt a little differently.

Grenell has already performed exactly this kind of official mission to spring another rockhard testosterone-poisoned accused foreign criminal. In 2019, as Trump’s ambassador to Germany, according to this great scoop by my friends over at Spytalk published in 2020, Grenell managed to get a criminal kickboxer from Europe to the US.

The US had denied a visa three times to German-Moroccan UFC fighter Abu Azaittar whose criminal past includes a conviction for beating a businessman and dousing him with gasoline and stealing his car, an accusation of punching and breaking a girlfriend’s eardrum, and other escapades. Azaitar and his brother were gang members who had earned the street nickname “the brutal twins.”

Then Grenell got involved. Shortly before he washed up in America at Mike Tyson’s Nevada ranch, Azaitar posted an Instagram picture of himself in a tight red t-shirt with Grenell in a dark shirt and black parka, looking chummy under an arched doorway. “Amazing time with mr ambassador …. Thank you for opening to [sic] door for me.”

I’m in New York City today, thinking of strolling down to the Battery to see if the “Give us your poor” bronze plaque on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty has been pried off and replaced with her new motto in this MAGA era: “Give Us Your Rapists and Millionaires.”
