Late on Saturday evening, President Trump dropped his plan to hold the Group of Seven summit conference at his golf resort in Doral, Florida next year. He announced the plan’s cancellation with a tweet that blamed “both Media & Democrat Crazed and Irrational Hostility.”

In fact, the scheme to hold the international summit at a hotel he owns had provoked outrage among Republicans as well as Democrats in Congress, while drawing critical commentary in publications across the political spectrum.

Trump also said that the search fo a new site will begin immediately and that other possible choices may include Camp David.

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said on Monday that Donald Trump has a "great record when it comes to the LGBTQ community."

Chris Johnson, chief political and White House reporter for the Washington Blade, asked McEnany if Trump would reconsider the ban on transgender people in the military after 116 Democratic House lawmakers sent a letter last week to Defense Secretary Mark Esper and Attorney General William Barr calling for the Pentagon to end the policy.
