It’s right out in the open, the fact that the Republican party is the party by and for the richest in America. They don’t seem to care if we all know it either.
Why do the poor and the middle class vote Republican?
Because voting DemonRAT hasn’t done a damn thing for them except ruin their lives by making them dependent upon government. That’s why!
Yes it has. The Democrats pushed through Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Unemployment Insurance and many other social welfare programs designed to help the poor and middle class. That has not ruined the lives of the poor and the middle class. The Republicans have done nothing for the poor and the middle class.
So in your opinion, government dependency is a good thing?
In my opinion, if people need help and the government is able to help, it should help.
I also believe that if the cause of an economic disaster can be clearly attributed to a specific group, such as the banking industry’s culpability for the disaster of 2008, that industry’s leaders should be heavily fined and jailed.
So we agree that you like government dependency and think it’s a good thing.
You’re delusional if you think that the banking industry is culpable in the real estate bubble and simultaneously ignore the role of government with the Fed keeping rates artificially low, the government and ACORN forcing banks to write sub-prime loans to increase homeownership, while Fannie & Freddie backing all of those loans with government guarantees has NOTHING to do with the collapse. Certainly, banks did what they could to diversify and spread their risks, but the government is the guy that makes the rules by which the game is played. And their ignorant and misguided desire to increase home ownership by manipulating the market is absolutely at the heart of the real estate collapse. Don’t be so naiive, CPA. You’re smarter than that.
The banking industry should never be allowed to engage in speculative investing and underwriting securities. The elimination of Glass Steagall was one of the stupidest things that Congress did. It let a bunch of cowboys take over the banking system.
I’m not naive and I’m not deluded by right wing rants like yours. Unbridled capitalism and unregulated financial shenanigans have been proved to give too much power to the robber barons that infect the free enterprise economies. These “malefactors of great wealth” as Teddy Roosevelt characterized them, are a menace that must be controlled by government.
elimination of GS was a Clinton signed bill and Clinton idea as a payoff to his boys on Wall Street at Goldman Sachs and the other big investment houses that bought his elections and staffed his cabinet and treasury. Interesting how you conveniently forget that.
There is no such thing as “unbridled capitalism”, never has been. Teddy Rosevelt was a progressive who had disdain for the Constitution. Look it up. It’s true. He and Obozo share that common trait. But what is “unbridled capitalism” anyway? And if it is bad, who is to “bridle” it? Are bureaucrats somehow smarter at running businesses than the business people are? How’d that happen? The government can’t even do a website in 3.5 years with $650M. Are those in government somehow more virtuous than businesses? Or are they just better at making you think their corruption is for your own good by claiming the business guy is evil? You can’t be that stupid, CPA. You’re just blinded by jealousy and envy, believe that you’re entitled to a living off the backs of other people, and because of that you’re a sucker for the leftist populist propaganda of class warfare. You need to get over it, dude!
Have a nice day!
“Everyone wants to live at the expense of the state. They forget that the state lives at the expense of everyone.” ― Frédéric Bastiat
I never forgot that Slick Willie signed off on the demise of Glass Steagall. it’s just one of his mistakes. I think that Clinton was one of the biggest sleazebags in the presidency. I think the same of his wife, who I hope never becomes president.
Who is to bridle the banking and investment industry in America? That’s easy: the government. Being smarter than the scumbags that run that industry isn’t a requirement for exercising control to protect the public interest. What is needed is people who see the danger of unbridled capital to the public and regulate it it for the public benefit.
Teddy Roosevelt didn’t violate the Constitution. He used it to rein in the “malefactors of great wealth” who were ruining the country’s economy for the benefit of the rich.
You like to set up “straw men” to advance your ultra conservative agenda. It won’t work with me. I never said business people are evil, but I do say that the leaders of American business are excessively greedy, unfeeling individuals who must be tightly monitored and controlled. Some should be put in jail.
As to your personal attack on my character: In my opinion you’re an elitist who thinks that anyone who isn’t rich is not entitled to a decent life or should be prohibited from having a voice in the government.
You seem to me to be in the image of Mitt Romney, a man who I personally detest as the poster boy for the elitist pricks who dominate the Republican Party.
My, my, Obozo, I see that you are still prattling that lie that the banks were forced to make sub-prime loans by anyone let alone by a Federal law. Tell me, are you of such sub-normal intelligence that you actually believe that or do you just love spreading conservative manure? The only thing the law required was that areas were not red-lined (no loans given no matter how good the credit history of the prospective borrower) but unscrupulous banks & brokers saw a way to make a fortune by generating fake paperwork & then selling the loans to other entities including Fannie & Freddie (they practically bankrupted every bank in Iceland by unloading their fraudulent paper there).
Ralphie…. shouldn’t you be sitting in a big red chair at the mall asking kids what they want for Christmas? You’d be better at that, in fact you’d be perfect at that I might add, than you are at understanding anything economic. Follow me on this….
* The fact is that the government is the rule maker, the referee if you will, in the economy. And it was the government’s political goal to increase home ownership, especially in bad neighborhoods in cities.
* Fighting “red lining” was a measure to let politicians try to give poor people homeownership, and the government enlisted the help of “community organizations” to help identify the so-called “guilty” banks. In fact, you may not know this but guess who was the first attorney involved in a suit agains a bank for violation of the CRA and Red Lining? That’s right… you’re messiah Obozo working for ACORN sued Citibank (I think it was them) in Chicago. But that’s beside the point.
* Forcing banks to create loans to poor people made the banks fearful. So they called the politicians who in turn called their political cronies at Fannie and Freddie to give the banks incentive to make those loans by lowering the risk of the loans through guarantees. The mortgage banks complied and Fannie and Freddie bought the loans.
* The banks were taking the incentives given them by government, borrowing money from the Fed at very low rates, loaning it out at much higher rates, and then selling them back to Fannie and Freddie. This is great business if you can get it. And soon they did not restrict such loans to small areas or certain types of customers. They gave them to anyone.
* Fannie and Freddie had to be in the mix of the money making, also. After all, Frank Raines (Clinton appointee) had millions in bonuses he needed steal for his own pocket. So they would bundle the mortages and sell them to Wall Street who believed they were government guaranteed securities.
* But Wall Street hedges it’s bets, also, and created insurance bets against default (credit default swaps are just financial insurance).
* And the game continued on until what started the house of cards falling was Chris Dodd’s best buddy’s company Country Wide revealed they were insolvent, then Freddie and Fannie did the same, the big banks taking money on CDS’s could not back their own bets and the tumble begain in earnest.
This is simplified explanation, Ralphie, but the truth is that BOTH government and their cronies in banking played a role. And the entire financial rout in America originated with the politicians desire to increase home ownership. So they manipulated the market. Any time politicians manipulate a market for political reasons, it ALWAYS results in something bad.
Hope you learned something, Ralphie!
BTW… Can I have new Suburban for Christmas this year? Thanks, Santa. You’re the best.
Merry Christmas, Ralphie!
“The great danger to the consumer is the monopoly — whether private or governmental. His most effective protection is free competition at home and free trade throughout the world. The consumer is protected from being exploited by one seller by the existence of another seller from whom he can buy and who is eager to sell to him. Alternative sources of supply protect the consumer far more effectively than all the Ralph Naders of the world.” – Milton Friedman
What a marvelous post, Obozo…What a pity it is so full of falsehoods and fables.
Red Lining had to be stopped as it was a completely racist action that automatically refused to issue a mortgage in certain areas no matter how high the income of the person making the application. It had nothing whatsoever to do with giving poor people homes as it merely required banks to issue mortgages to CREDIT-WORTHY individuals no matter where they were buying a home or business. In other words, if a person could had credit record that would qualify him for a mortgage in Beverley Hills or La Jolla then they could not deny him a mortgage in Watts.
The closest thing to a law forcing banks to loan to poor people was the 1992 law requiring Fannie & Freddie to purchase a minimum of 30% affordable housing mortgages (Bush raised it to 56%). In other words 30%, later 56%, of mortgages purchased had to be on properties that working people could afford. No more only limiting purchases to loans on homes costing over $500K. People still had to qualify for the loans…but the unscrupulous bankers & brokers soon found a way around that.
The banks had no need to beg the Feds to start buy mortgages as the Feds started doing that BEFORE WW2. In the 1930s my father traded 5 mortgages in default that he was holding for a farm that had been foreclosed by the government (at that time the Feds always gave a one year extension to past due mortgages).
I can not remember a time when banks did not borrow money from the Feds at below market rates and then loan it at higher rates just as the banks have always “borrowed” money from depositors at much lower rates than what they charged on loans. For instance: when the banks were paying me a little over 10% on my savings account (5.25% on checking account) they were charging over 19% on 30 year mortgages.
I knew brokers and bankers (they all should have been sentenced for long terms for financial fraud instead of pocketing millions) who busily generated false paperwork (fake incomes, credit reports, etc.) to make their fake loans look good & then sell them to the Feds. Those crooked brokers and bankers had a marvelous spiel that they preached to various gatherings pointing out they could get everyone in the audience into their “very own home” and the payments would be less than what they were currently paying in rent for their apartment. Of course, they neglected to point out that said payments only covered PART of the monthly interest charges and did not have any provision for covering property taxes and that there would be a huge balloon payment followed by much higher monthly payments.
These fake loans were then bundled with a few good loans, called Credit Insured Securities (no actual insurance involved) and peddled to various entities by AIG, etc. Sworn testimony by various bankers & bank employees verifies this. So now we have this mess where no one knows who owns what mortgage and various banking entities are busily forging paperwork to prove that they can foreclose on properties in which they do not have any provable interest.
From time to time knowledgeable people, both Democrats & Republicans, would warn of pending problems but they were ignored during both of the Bush’s and also the Clinton Presidency as it would upset Wall Street’s apple-cart.
I also noticed that you only mention Country Wide insolvency while ignoring Bear Stearns hedge funds, Washington Mutual, Lehman, AIG bailout (a prime marketer of fake “securitized mortgages”).
Yes, I have learned something, Obozo. Namely that you are even more obtuse (a polite way of saying “stupid”) and brain-washed than I thought.
Ralphie… you must not have read where I said BOTH government and their cronies in banking were responsible. The bottom line is that politicians sought a social engineering goal of increasing home ownership. They made laws and implemented policies and oversight that they believed would help them reach that goal. The bankers, especially the big ones with their buddies in government, went right along with it. And the crooked guys in mortgage lending (NOT all of them) exploited those politicians plans because the cost of doing so was non-existent. They could make loans and make money, and then pass the problems on to the government who eagerly backed the loans so politicians could claim that they were responsible for increased homeownership and a growing economy. BOTH were at fault. But remember, Ralphie, government makes the rules and are the referees. They influence the game in a HUGE way. That’s my point. You must have missed that.
Get back to working at the mall, Ralphie. Kids have toy orders to give you. I’m telling you, you would be the most real Santa there ever was, Ralphie. As a leftist though, I am concerned you’d be a Bad Santa, if you know what I mean… hehehehehehehehehe LOL… just kidding.
“My object in life is to dethrone God and destroy capitalism.” – Karl Marx
OMG! stop it! you are keeping Ralph from his job at the mall. Here is a selfie of him working….filling in for obama…..
Ralphie’s not a bad guy, he’s just completely snowed over by the radical left. He should concentrate on being the best Santa he can be and get out of the political spectrum.
ok, you are correct, he seems like a nice guy, but if I see him at the mall I AM NOT SITTING ON HIS KNEE…….. hahahaha! Have a great day OMG, you too Ralphie……..HO HO HO!
Pulling away their life perserver and saying (in effect); “Here, swim or drown!” Is hardly helpful.
Well, Ed… sometimes the best thing for a person is being forced to be responsible for themselves. It’s a hell of a lot better than turning them into a government plantation slave. The fact of the matter is that the number of people who REALLY need ongoing government support is infinitecimally small, even only a small percentage of those on the dole right now. And I don’t know a single person that says that someone who is permanently infirmed and incapable of work should be thrown out on their own. NOT ONE PERSON THINKS THAT. But there are millions sucking off the system that should be thrown out because it is a collassal waste of money. And it’s an insult to the dignity of the human being to make them think they cannot take care of themsleves.
Here is a link that presents facts about social welfare spending, all backed up with links to sources of info. Read it. It’s very good, fair and balanced. It’s a great site, as well.
But, Obozo, don’t you find it interesting that the employees of
Walmart, McDonalds, and most other fast food and major chains are ALL government plantation slaves while their bosses are all wallowing in big bucks..
Ralphie… a couple of points..
1) The type of jobs entry level jobs at Wal-Mart and McDonalds are NOT intended to be for breadwinners who are raising a family. They are for people to earn extra income or those who have no skills and are just entering the workforce. It’s the bottom of the ladder. Hundreds of millions of people have gotten their start at the bottom and worked their way up as they should and is the natural order of things.
2) The sad fact is that in Obozo’s fascist economy, there are people working at McD or WM that used to have good jobs but whom are now trying to raise a family by working at jobs that are at the bottom of the ladder.
3) Unfortunately, Obozo has expanded welfare programs so much that even those that don’t really need help are now also milking the system. Add to that that Obozodon’tcare has reduced the work week to 30 hours and more and more people are having their hours cut, thus making it more difficult to earn a living. So when the welfare hammock is expanded, and more and more higher skill workers are taking low skill, low pay jobs, this is what you get. These are called unintended consequences, Ralphie, and EVERY single government program and grand scheme has unintended consequences. This is a concept that is completely foreign to you wackos on the left. The only thing important to you guys is that you FEEL good like you’re doing something. Real world results be damned!!
4) The purpose of a business IS to make money and wallow in big bucks, NOT to provide people jobs.
You will see, Ralphie, that the higher the costs of employing people that are forced upon business by government, the more likely that those businesses will find ways to get those jobs done with fewer or no people. I am telling you right here, right now, that robotics will be replacing a whole lot of people in menial jobs, fast food included, in the coming years. And there is nothing you or government can do about it. In fact, the more you leftist freaks foist your wacky ideas and higher costs on businesses, the faster this will happen. Be careful what you wish for, my friend. There are ALWAYS equal and opposite reactions to ANY of your crazy social engineering ideas.
Have a nice day, and Merry Christmas Ralphie!
“One of the great mistakes is to judge policies and programs
by their intentions rather than their results.” – Milton Friedman in an interview with Richard Heffner
A couple points, Obozo…
1) When I was a young man jobs at department stores, dime stores, and even a fast food joint such as A&W (no McDs around then) were held by people raising families & they did not need the dole to feed their kids. Places like Zesto & Dairy Queen were staffed by kids & they made good money (about the equivalent of $13 (not counting tips) an hour in 2013 money. This was in a farming community noted for low wages because of all the retired farmer’s wives living in town who would accept low pay in order to get out of the house.
2) The sad fact is that people were stuck working at WM under the fascist reign of the Republicans & their disastrous economic policies long before Obama was elected president (kindly note that Obama was actually elected and not appointed president by SCOTUS like his predecessor).
3) What a strange statement and I can only glean that you feel that low skill, low pay workers should have held onto their jobs and that the high skill workers whose jobs have been moved off shore should…what? Oh, yeah, shut up and starve. There is no correlation between expanded welfare and high skilled workers taking low skill jobs since they only take those jobs because there is nothing else available and if any jobs open up that they are qualified for they shall take them.
4) Gee, Obozo, I bet that you would have given the same advice to Lincoln about the fallacy of freeing the slaves. Yep, free them and that will raise the cost of labor so they’ll mechanize the farms resulting in no jobs. Actually, I feel slavery would have died of economic starvation because machinery does the work cheaper just as it did in farms all across the US but…guess what? There were all those jobs in the factories in the cities that paid a lot better than being a free farm hand. (Before WW2 my dad paid hands $0.75 a day+meals and our place always had good workers because that was considered good money in the northern Midwest). On the other hand, not EVERY government program had unintended consequences as the programs promoted by the Republicans, starting with Reagan, has achieved their intended consequence of transferring the majority of wealth in the US to a very narrow segment at the top of our society pyramid and also achieved their intended consequence of gutting the middle class. .
you are correct OMG, those jobs are a stepping stone. I had a bunch of em while going to school. The work is hard and the pay is low, it was incentive to get whatever education and experience I needed to get a better paying job. Speaking of tough jobs, check out this guy, we have nothing to whine about do we?
Tell me about it. Bunch of whiners, the leftist freaks are. Make them all go serve in a foxhole before they’re allowed to bitch and moan. Until then, STFU!
but the sheep want free stuff OMG….
speaking of free stuff….
And the DemonRATS have done good things for so-called middle class? Things like forcing 10’s of MILLIONS of them to lose their health insurance? Wait until the employer mandate kicks in, conveniently after the mid-term elections as done by executive fiat against the law. Many estimates place that number at 100 MILLION or more people will lose their health insurance. Way to go for the middle class, DemonRATS!!!!! Great job!!!!
I can’t figure out why a single American, except for the leftist freak libturds in this sewer called “The National Mendicant”, would ever vote for another DemonRAT as long as they live. DemonRATS are socialists and in EVERY single example of socialist rule, the middle class becomes one big lower class and only the ruling elites have wealth. It’s the DemonRATS, along with progressive Republicans, that are creating the wealth gap in America.
“The urge to save humanity is always a false front for the urge to rule it.” – H.L. Mencken
Well, Obozo, I must admit that in the past I have often made the mistake of voting for a Republican (98% of the time it proved to be an error on my part) but the actions of the Republicans lately have completely convinced me to never vote for those Fascist masquerading as Republicans again. Just think, in my younger days SOME Republicans were patriotic Americans…sadly, no longer.
Again Ralphie, you do not understand the meaning of “fascism” at it’s heart. Nor do you have much understanding of the political spectrum moving from far right to far left. Here is the definition of fascism: dictatorial movement: any movement, ideology, or attitude that favors dictatorial government, centralized control of private enterprise, repression of all opposition, and extreme nationalism
That is far more an example of Obozo than of Republicans. Think about it. He’s taken control over the automotive industry, the banking industry, student loans, and health care. You may claim they are private industries, but you are fooling yourself if you think that they are NOT under Obozo’s and his bureaucratic regime’s thumb. THEY ARE! Obozo is just another neo-fascist with socialist, income redistribution tendancies.
Let me explain the political spectrum to you, Ralphie. You need to revisit your political history fact book. You have been misled as all leftist nutjobs and useful idiots have been misled. We’ll start with the extremes, exact opposites. All the way to the right is no government at all, called anarchy. All the way to the left is 100% government, complete government control, called communism, socialism, Nazism, fascism, etc. Pure democracy is to the left of republican government which is to the left of anarchy. Republican government can be classified as the minimum amount of government to maintain order and defense while the people have maximum freedom. This is what we have, and on that continuum between far left and far right, republicanism is squarely center right. Any expansion of the role of government or increasing control over people and resources is a move to the left away from republicanism and freedom.
The 5 basic forms of government from left to right are:
1) Monarchy – rule by one – only in appearance, they have
their bureaucrats and cabinets etc. etc.
2) Oligarchy – rule by a few – tyranny of the elite – communism, socialism, Nazism, fascism all find their home here.
3) Democracy – rule by majority – these never survive, they
devolve to anarchy and then oligarchy
4) Republic – rule by law – what we have, or are supposed to
5) Anarchy – rule by no one
So you see, Ralphie, when you look at this objectively, you
realize that fascism/Nazism are, in all facts, actually HIGHLY correlated with socialism and communism. And your attempts to convince people that fascism isn’t a leftist ideology is nothing more than a perpetuation of lies and complete ignorance of the very facts that slap you in the face because they are quite simply self-evident.
Obozo clearly seeks greater control over people, industry, and the resources of America. Everything he does is directed toward the goal of greater control. He sells his LIES to useful idiots and true believers in the populist language of “taking care of the less fortunate” but he doesn’t really give a damn about that because he knows the reality is that such wide-eyed dreams of Utopia can never be realized. But he sells you on it, and this is what gives him the political power to execute on his desire to “fundamentally transform” America. Everything he DOES (not what he says) is indicative of those goals. Witness how he rules by executive order, even breaking his own laws like ACA. Witness how he is working to make Congress irrelevant in implementing his agenda. Witness how he uses the power of government to harass his political opponents. These are the actions of a despot, a tyrant, A FASCIST! There is the appearance of private enterprise, but in reality it’s controlled by the heavy hand of Obozo’s government.
You have been duped, Ralphie. You should never again vote for a DemonRAT if you consider yourself a patriotic American.
“We are socialists, we are enemies of today’s capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are determined to destroy this system under all conditions” – Adolf Hitler
“Everything for the State; nothing outside the State; nothing against the State.” — Benito Mussolini
Obozo, have you ever actually read a history book or do you get all of your “facts” from comic books and FUBAR News?
Fascism and Socialism are polar opposites. Fascism worships at the feet of big business (Hitler supplied slave labor to big business which was privately owned) while Socialism will nationalize an industry if necessary to aid the individual because the populace comes first. If you actually read the Bible and Marx you would see that they promoted the same thing (President Lincoln was a great admirer of Marx) but just as there is no true Christian nation there has never been a true Communist nation (and neither one would be able to survive in the real world)..
A Fascist nation loves and needs war just like the Republicans. Fascist nation needs to be fighting a threat (Germany it was Jews & other untermenschen and Republicans are threatened by non-whites. Fascists do all they can to promote & aid big business just like Republicans.
By the way I spent the first 20 years of my life being schooled by those nut jobs that closed down towns to celebrate FDR’s death and decades later considered Goldwater a leftist. Many of our neighbors & teachers thought Hitler was a great man with wonderful ideas. Of course Hitler DID get the idea of a master race from the US (but enforced it much more efficiently than we did). I lived in one of the 30 states that had laws requiring incarceration or sterilization of “undesirables” (not rescinded until well after 1955). So you can see I was exposed early on to right wing hypocrites but had the intelligence to see through their lies.
By the way, the greatest bureaucracy of all time was ancient Egypt. The bureaucrats had complete control of everything you did: what you planted where & when, who you could sell to, where you could live, and even when you could go into town to get supplies. They had the richest country in the world because of all the stringent control and Cleopatra was so rich that she was worth at least 3 times as much as today’s Queen Elizabeth and she could have bought the Roman Empire out of petty cash.
This almost makes up for the ignorant Agitprop Sirya “Assad the Baby Killer” cartoon.
And now…. The REAL Cartoon Of The Day!
These stupid arguments are nothing more than distractions away from the REAL harm being done to the middle class in America by Obozodon’tcare. So far, 50 people have lost their insurance for every 1 signed up for Obozodon’tcare.
“If you like your health plan, you can keep it. PERIOD!!” — Baroke WhoIsInstane Obozo lying over and over again to the American people as we now have incontrovertible evidense showing he knew he was lying, but did so to save his own political butt at the expense of Americans knowing the truth about the disaster that is Obozodon’tcare.
Once again, your stats are wrong, your point is way off, and you just don’t get it.
Robert all that Bozo the Sewer Rat can do is write comments with copied cartoons and made up quotes. He never offers anything positive or of value on the is site. He can never offer an original thought or idea.
I wish there were some way to verify for whom he is working. We have already heard, about two months ago, that Fox and others are actually paying people to get on sites like this and express views counter to the norm.
Don’t be a dope, Hasty. You’re not that stupid, my friend. I am working for the American people and our traditional values of liberty, freedom, and limited government AGAINST the leftist freaks of the world in this sewer called The National Mendicant… errr… The National Memo… that seek to convert America into some sort of socialist Utopia. And I don’t get paid anything to do it. In fact, it sometimes takes away from my real job.
Traditional values of limited government? And who advocates THAT value, and where is it written into our Constitution. The basis for the writing of the Constitution was, in fact, the desire of the Founders to have a more powerful and centralized government, not the powerless Articles of Confederation. Once again, you are getting your history lessons from people who simply don’t know how our country came into being and who don’t want you to know. Under the Articles, the government was limited to tariffs for tax revenue. Under the Constitution, the groundwork was laid for gleaning revenue from other sources, INCLUDING income. As far as your “Utopian” dream is concerned, why don’t you watch “Elysium” with Matt Damon to see which demographic is trying to build a Utopia?
The concept of “Federalism” completely escapes you, doesn’t it Hasty? The fact is that the Constitution would NEVER have been ratified if it did not include the significant constraints against federal government power that it does contain, and which have been largely ignored in the past 100+ years starting with Woodrow Wilson and continuing, with minor exception, since then. And yes, traditional values of limited government means maximum amount of liberty for the people. We know all of this based upon the notes taken during the 1787 Convention as well as the writings of the Framers which includes the Federalist Papers. The clear meaning of what they sought to accomplish is there and available for you and all to read.
BTW… not sure I’m going to be looking for history lessons in a fictional movie done by a widely known leftist freak hollywood scumbag. You should not either. He’s no more reliable than that fat pig Mikey Moore.
Is there some viable reason you are on a blog that is so apparently out of your comfort zone, rather than conversing with people who are more on your wavelength? That sounds to me like someone with some insecurity issues.
thanks for the assessment genius. is there some viable reason you are replying to me when you obviously feel so superior in intellect , morality and patriotism? Why does my being here bother you so much? LIberals have to realize they do not own public forums where there is free speech. You cannot silence others just because they disagree with you. A few little cartoons mocking the president doesn’t kill you does it? Read some of your own crap making vile comments on conservatives.. Don’t be a hypocrite.. Life is short, don’t take it so seriously. Everyone is entitled to say what they want. Hillary Cankles Clinton said ”
I’m sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this
administration, somehow you’re not patriotic. We need to stand up and say we’re
Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration”
I agree with Hillary, see? i agree with you guys sometimes.
Correction…. that would be Killary… just sayin
I think it has been established by most competent members of the APA that people who feel the need to intrude their opinions into forums where they run counter to the norm have some issues. Why would you intrude yourself into a conversation that you know is in disagreement with your beliefs, especially when you do so in such a manner that is intended to provoke rather than to encourage debate?
I think it has been established that people that try to silent those who disagree with them have “issues”. that’s the problem , whatever it is that you “think” has been established, as long as you agree with it.. you think is the last word. End of story and everyone else who does not agree must shut up or go away. Sorry, it doesn’t work that way. You can name call and diagnose me all you want. That doesn’t make you right and it doesn’t make me right. We disagree. Haven’t seen a list of rules for the forum and I wouldn’t think you or I would be the ones to make up that list. I see some of these posters from this site over on other conservative sights and I don’t tell them to leave there either. This is not the RobertCHastings site . why not start a private chat? Then you and your buds can chat conservative free? Until then, buck up, things are gonna get real interesting here in 2014, one way or the other……….let’s wait and see. Come on, your man is in for 3 more years, don’t be a sore winner Robert. 😉 Shalom.
Once again, please edit your posts. You are being nonsensical. My training has been in English literature. Your training must have been in Polish, or something.
to sum up: you are dufus. I am so sorry your comprehension is that of a flea on a camel’s left nut. Shalom
I’m never impressed by people who use foreign words when English equivalents are available and more readily understood.
Instead of “shalom,” try “peace”.
hahahahaha, that’s funny,I reread my last post and you picked shalom as the word you didn’t like…. i am still laughing.. peace to you CPainNY
Robert look at the three comments below, two from Bozo the Sewer Rat and the other from his alter ego infadelicious. Bozo loves to make up statistics that he never offers proof of or a source to verify his claim. They both like to write totally ridiculous comments on this site and then call you an idiot or moron if you call their comments bs.
I don’t know or care if either or both of them get paid to write these right wing whining comments. As for Bozo taking time from his job the only job he has is to come up from his mommy’s basement and fix her 4pm medicine, I believe it’s stirred not shaken.
It’s a bit eerie that Bozo writes a comment then infadelicious writes one complimenting Bozo. Are they brothers or the same writer?
Their checks may not be from the same source, but their info apparently is.
wow! you’re just as clever as bob……. sadly ;-(
And you are as ridiculous as your other half. Bozo the Sewer Rat. You are delusional if you think we care that you write your comments on this site, we find them amusing that’s all. You seem to be overly sensitive to criticism of your inane comments. As usual you and Bozo resort to sarcasm and name calling in the end. The both of you are just predictable bores.
we are boring? yet , here you are again stalking us……as for us resorting to name calling in the end . who said this? “you are as ridiculous as your other half. Bozo the Sewer Rat. You are delusional” Duh! that’s right it was you. Can you explain that hypocritical statement???. And i expect criticism from you guys. if i was sensitive to it, would I be on this site? It’s not your site. We are here 😉 Consider us “occupy National Memo” you liked the occupy people right? If you find them amusing, why do you criticise them then? Do they hit a nerve because obama is failing miserably? Have a nice day and lighten up.
Who started this comment string, you, wrote to me. You do have a bad habit of starting something then claim that I’m stalking you. I will gladly explain the Bozo the Sewer Rat comment. Numerous times Bozo has called this site a sewer, see his comment above to R Hastings. He claimed to be a disinfectant to this sewer site, I merely told him he is more a sewer rat who feeds on right wing garbage and then tries to spread the disease on this sight. Was that simple enough for you.
When you write statements like “you are delusional. Duh! that’s right it was you” you sound like a prepubescent little boy. The only word missing was “dude”.
I have never claimed it was my site, you are the one who keeps saying it’s a public forum. You write comments I write comments and reply to yours when you write bs. Based on your rambling response I believe I hit your nerve little boy.
It’s a shame that Obama is failing miserably, the stock market indices are at an all time high so I’m very happy. Here has been job growth for at least 37 straight months
you were talking about OMG and me, so I replied to that. He is quite able to defend himself. I was pointing out and you have once again ignored the fact that you hypocritically said we call names and then you continued to call us names. So being hypocritical is no better than my making a remark about it like a ” prepubescent little boy” As for “the stock market indices are at an all time high so I’m very happy. There has been 37 straight months of job growth and the economy is doing good. ” I ‘d say you are the delusional one, or you are one of the lucky ones obozonomics has not hit YET. Good on you Bill. I hope it stays that way for you seriously. I hope miracles happen and all those things come true, who doesn’t want to do better? I see a lot of my neighbours and friends not doing as well .Yes I always say it’s an open forum but people keep trying to silence those who disagree with the usual obama love chanting on here. And yes we mock and we throw out a cartoon, what is the big deal? if all is going so swimmingly, why get so crusty about a few jokes? sheesh! You guys throw out insults and jokes about conservatives, some I even laugh at. A lot of politicians in both parties are a joke anyway.
You seem to have a short memory, Bozo is the one who has been the worst offenders in name calling. He has called people morons, idiots, freaks and other names. When he stops I will do the same.
If you don’t believe the 37 straight months of monthly job growth just look at the Bureau of Labor Statistics website and look at the monthly job numbers for the last 3+ years! but I guess you would have to believe real numbers then.
I have never told you to stay off of this site, you can post your cartoons or comments, that’s your right. It’s my right to be able to,disagree with you.
why not get your bum buddy president to get his nsa guys after them? so typical………….
Hasty… what about a bald-faced lie is way off point? And those stats are very real. It’s the nearly 10 MILLION that have had their coverage that they previously liked dropped. Wait until the employer mandate starts kicking in. That number will swell to nearly 100 MILLION. And you DemonRATS are DONE!!!! Mark my words on that. I already know a good number of Democrat voters that will NEVER vote DemonRAT again because of Obozo’s LIES and the fact that they are losing insurance or their premiums are skyrocketing. No doubt, there will be a few winners under Obozodon’tcare, but the number of losers will be in the hundreds of millions of Americans. Ted Cruz was 100% correct in what he said and now more and more DemonRAT politicians are calling for delays and changes to Obozodon’tcare. Hypocrites!!!
You must be a shill for the insurance industry. Millions of people ARE losing their insurance, for the very simple reason that it has been worthless for them from the getgo. Millions are very happy with those aspects of ACA that have already been implemented, such as kids staying on their parents’ insurance until 26, such as mandatory coverage for pre-existing conditions, such as ending of limits on annual and lifetime coverage – just three issues that the insurance industry DID NOT want to provide people BEFORE the ACA. Socialism, as I have TRIED to inform you in the past, has to do with government ownership and control of the means of production and distribution – the current system of PRIVATE insurers in no way fits that definition, or ANY definition of socialism.
You wrote> “Millions of people ARE losing their insurance, for the very simple reason that it has been worthless for them from the getgo.”
1) if their insurance that they willingly bought and paid for was “worthless”, (but for some reason they found it acceptable and it worked for them) then why did Obozo tell them that “if they liked their health plan, they could keep it. PERIOD!??” I mean, if it was so worthless, why tell them that?
2) How is it that a government bureacrat knows better for someone than they know for themselves? Besides, every single policy sold to people went throught state regulatory approval before it could ever be sold. Why is the Fed bureaucrat smarter than the state bureaucrat?
Awaiting you answers I remain…..
Ever heard of AFLAC? Why are they allowed to sell insurance for ONE specific thing, and NOT everything an individual may need. If I receive, from AFLAC, say $3,000fora major medical issue, who is going to negotiate for me with the insurance company AND the hospital? With similar policies, it is the same issue. Get a bill from the hospital for $50K and who negotiates for you? If you have $3K from your insurance company, they are done with you and your medical cost problems. With Medicare, a $50K bill is negotiated BY Medicare down to a much lower number ( something most insurance companies will pay) and the rest of your bill (70/30 or 80/20) is covered by your supplement, leaving you, if anything, a very small bill. I speak from experience, after having survived triple bypass. $3K will not cover the costs of a triple bypass, or the attendant hospital stay. In other words, the policy that pays me a set amount for a specific ailment is worthless and, as such, does not qualify under the rules of the ACA. However, if that is the kind of policy YOU want, you are welcome to it.
Hasty, Hasty, Hasty…. you know what you just wrote is garbage. AFLAC is supplemental income insurance, NOT health insurance. In other words, if you get sick or hurt and you cannot work, AFLAC, depending on your selected coverage, pays your bills like mortgage or rent or whatever, or portions thereof. It does NOT pay your doctors. And who are you to say that AFLAC cannot write policies that people want and willingly pay for according to terms they want for themselves? No one is forcing anyone to do anything….. well…… wait….. except Obozo who is coercing Americans into his cockamamey schemes so he can control them. Free individuals purchasing private products and services is exactly how it’s supposed to be.
That being said… set that issue apart. The statement you made about “who is going to negotiate for me” and who is “going to pay the $50K bill” are indicative of your mindset. And your mindset IS the problem in our culture. You’ve become a dependent drone that expects someone else to take care of you and someone else to pay for your goods and services. This is the entitlement mentality. Asking such questions would NEVER occur to my mind. How pathetic can that be? You should be responsible for yourself and your family, and I’ll be responsible for mine. You take care of you. I take care of me. And if needed and you’re my neighbor, I help you out personally and don’t outsource my personal charity to charlatans in government who are lying to you and me for their own good.
Have a nice day, Hasty!
“Government is the great fiction, through which everybody
endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else.” — Frederic Bastiat, French economist (1801-1850)
Dependent. Really? Is that the best you can come up with? How am I dependent? For over forty years I paid my dues for Medicare coverage for my retirement. For over fifty years I paid FICA to assure an income during my retirement. Both of these I paid for the amount of time specified, not for the purpose of receiving a handout, but with the full expectation of having my medical and income needs provided for when I retired. It is not as if all of a sudden I requested of the government to pay me a check. Your reasoning would make it okay for the banks to abscond with fifty years of my savings, money I worked for and earned, and money which I, wisely, invested in my retirement. And, coincidentally, in such a manner that would have far outstripped any investments I would have personally made in stocks. Social Security and Medicare/ Medicaid are NOT free, the folks that are receiving these have invested in them all of their working lives. The rest of your “questions” are totally meritless and do not deserve a response.
Hasty… we can debate whether or not a person that puts their money into a Ponzi scheme is “investing” but you cannot debate that every Ponzi scheme goes broke and it all comes apart. SS and Medicare make Bernie Madoff look like a penny gambler throwing marbles to scam other kids. Everyone that works (that’s us suckers to you) MUST keep paying more and more and more in order to pay for those suckers who are lucky enough to get out early. And calling SS and Medicare “investments” and saying they pay more return than even a simple indexed fund demonstrates a stunning lack of understanding of any investment vehicle. Look up ANY investment comparison of SS to private investing in an S&P index fund and compare what you have. Over a 40 year career, you’d have about 250% more money THAT’S YOURS IN FULLY FUNDED ACCOUNTS than you would have by expecting SS to fund your retirement FROM UNFUNDED ACCOUNTS THAT POLITICIANS STOLE THE MONEY FROM.
And my questions are 100% relevantl. They go right to the heart of the matter. You made statements about the policies other peopel privately purchased on their own. I challenged you on your statements and the statements… errr…. LIES.. of your messiah about those plans. If you do not answer them, I will assume you are cornered and cannot do so. Here they are again:
2) How is it that a government bureaucrat knows better for someone than they know for themselves? Besides, every single policy sold to people went through state regulatory approval before it could ever be sold. Why is the Fed bureaucrat smarter than the state bureaucrat?
I’m waiting patiently….
Explain why,to me, BCBS has a virtual monopoly in North Carolina. It is the company that covers public employees, and the largest, by far, private sector insurer in the state. We don’t even have a state-established marketplace for the ACA. Rates for the monopolized BCBS in NC are at least 30% higher than more competitive rates in surrounding states, and I am supposed to trust the judgement of a state bureaucrat who has allowed this monopoly? Many national insurers are prevented from operating in NC, a situation that makes competitive pricing an unrealistic dream, and yet Republicans claim that competition benefits the consumer. Oh, by the way, our governor is Republican, and both Houses of our state legislature are dominated by Republicans.
Hasty… you wrote> “Many
national insurers are prevented from operating in NC, a situation that makes
competitive pricing an unrealistic dream, and yet Republicans claim that
competition benefits the consumer.”
Do you see the complete contradiction in your statement? You say that NC has no competition, then you say that Republicans want competition to benefit the consumer. Huhhhhhh???
The fact is that more competition DOES benefit the consumer. The best means ever devised of protecting consumers from one supplier that is ripping them off is to have choices of many other suppliers who will treat them better. Unfortunately, with state-only insurance offerings and NO COMPETITION across state lines as mandated by government, you get what you have.
It always puzzles me how leftists can somehow think that government controlling a good or service is somehow going to fix the perceived “problems” of private industry supplying that good or service. In absolutely ZERO circumstances is that true. For example… Your complaints about insurance companies putting a maximum on health costs is a phony concern. You see, even if some people have such maximums, the number of people that hit them is infinitecimally small. As well. the reality is that a person getting insurance from overnment is FAR, FAR, FAR more likely to have treatment denied them on the basis of rationing of care. This happens in EVERY single socialized medicine environment including Canada and the UK. Why do you think ACA establishes the IPAB? Why do you think the primary author of the ACA, Zeke Emanuel, also wrote extensively on the “Complete Lives System” where your care is rationed according to your worth to overall society? What the hell is he talking about? That sort of thinking is much closer to the thinking of Josef Mengele than is to the thinking of normal Americans.
Oh… BTW…. the laws that allow interstate competition for health insurance are Federal laws, not state laws. You want competition nationally? Vote Republican. You want the IPAB and Complete Lives System with rationing and denial of services from Government? Vote DemonRAT.
And you still have not answered my questions…. hmmm???
2) How is it that a government bureaucrat knows better for someone than they know for themselves? Besides, every single policy sold to people went through state regulatory approval before it could ever be sold. Why is the Fed bureaucrat smarter than the state bureaucrat?
“If you think health care is expensive now, wait until you see what it costs when it’s free!” — P.J. O’Rourke
There is no contradiction. I simply (and clearly) stated that many insurers are not permitted to operate in North Carolina. Republicans CLAIM that there is value in competition. Since the legislature AND the governorship in North Carolina are controlled by Republicans, then it should follow that there is competition in the insurance field in North Carolina. As there is NOT competition, somewhere along the way either North Carolina’s Republicans did not get the message, or the basic Republican message of the value of competition is a lie. There is no contradiction there, unless,of course, you are a Republican and see no contradiction in supporting BOTH sides of that coin. I believe it was Marie Antoinette who stated “Let them have their cake and eat it, too.” The last I heard, that didn’t work out very well for her.
Social Security and Medicare are not Ponzi schemes. They’re needed social benefits for the majority of Americans who use those benefits to survive. As times get harder, they are needed more and more.
Neanderthals like ObozoMustGo hate those programs because they see themselves as rugged individualists and look down upon anyone who hasn’t achieved their station in life.
ObozoMustGo represents a way of thinking that went out with the robber barons. He should be ignored for the anachronism that he is.
I’ll refer to the definition of Ponzi Scheme:
A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment operation that pays returns to its investors from existing capital or new capital paid by new investors, rather than from profit earned by the individual or organization running the operation. Operators of Ponzi schemes usually entice new investors by offering higher returns than other investments, in the form of short-term returns that are either abnormally high or unusually consistent. The perpetuation of the high returns requires an ever-increasing flow of money from new investors to sustain the scheme.
Clearly, SS and Medicare NEED new “investors” in order to pay off older investors taking back from the system. The fact is that long ago, both programs were paid for such that the benefits to one were paid for by many workers. This number has been declining rapidly to where now it’s only a few people who must pay higher taxes from their own earnings to pay for the costs of a single retiree. In other words, the burden of one retired person is unfairly placed upon fewer working people. How is that fair? You old people were sold a bill of goods believing that you were “investing” by putting your money away with the government. All the while the politicians were stealing it to spend on more goodies for the people to keep themselves getting reelected.
No CPA…. the Neanderthals are the leftist freaks who think they’re NOT greedy bastards to knowingly demand access to the earnings of other people, yet have the balls to call those who wish to keep the fruits of their own labor greedy. Too bad there are more and more neanderthals like you around here. Perhaps the IPAB will take care of you and all the others like you. One can hope.
“You can only confiscate the wealth that exists at a given moment. You cannot confiscate future wealth — and that future wealth is less likely to be produced when people see that it is going to be confiscated.” – Thomas Sowell
A Ponzi scheme goes broke. Social Security won’t go broke, because the government will replenish it. Further, if the politicians hadn’t dipped into it from time to time to shore up other programs, there probably wouldn’t be an insolvency scare now.
The United States is a welfare state. But, it’s a different kind of welfare state because business and the wealthy are also recipients of its largesse. You probably don’t like being told that, but it’s true nevertheless.
Come on CPA… you can’t be serious. Where does the government get the money to “replenish” SS?
Also, how do the wealthy get government largess? I know companies do. God knows, GM is the quintessential picture of that. But how do individuals get “largess”? Awaiting your response…
The rich get government largesse by:
Enjoying lower taxes through schemes like not having to pay taxes that are sequestered in overseas accounts. Then, by acts of Congress, taking advantage of periodic forgiveness programs that permit repatriation at lower income tax rates.
Enabling investors in hedge funds like Boston Consulting to claim the benefits of “settled interest,” which enables them to treat earnings from those hedge funds as long term capital gains.
Being able to form companies that can charge significant non-deductible individual expenses to their businesses. Example: A rich person buys a second house for vacation purposes and takes a mortgage on it. The deductibility of the interest on the vacation home mortgage is limited to $500,000 of mortgage principle ($1,000,000 if married). But, if the home is carried as rental property, all of hte interest is deductible.
As to your comment “…how do the wealthy get government largess? I know companies do”:Who do you think is running big business in the United States, the poor and middle class? No! It’s the rich. it’s the rich who are running the show and raping all of the classes lower than they are in the economic pecking order.
So allowing people to keep their own earnings, regardless of how it is legally earned, is largess? What are you smoking? That was their money in the first place. Why do you think government has first dibs on their earnings or anyone else’s?
Using the example of rental properties is a poor choice. Owning rental properties is a perfectly legitimate thing to do. Who would rent to you and all the other people that choose to rent? And as an income property, the owner declares expenses (which includes interest expense along with insurance, maintenance, depreciation, etc.) as well as income. How is this the government giving away largess?
When you say ” it’s the rich who are running the show and raping all of the classes lower than they are in the economic pecking order.”….. do you mean that those people with money are stealing money from poor people that don’t have any money? Sheesh, dude, I hope you don’t give anyone financial advice because you’d be bankrupting everyone you do advise with rationale like that.
“When men once get the habit of helping themselves to the property of others,” warned the New York Times in 1909 about the proposed federal income tax, “they are not easily cured of it.’”
You’re arguing for zero taxation, because all tax money deprives people of their own earnings.
Dumb. Very dumb.
Who said that I was arguing for zero taxation? You said so, not me. There are things that the Federal government must do and those are enumerated in the Constitution. It includes primarly defense, the original reason the states created the fed in the first place. There is nothing in the Constitution that gives the feds the right to rob Peter to pay Paul in income redistribution schemes. SS, Medicare, Medicaid, UI, and other schemes are ALL programs that fail to accomplish their original objectives as set forth in their charters that created them. In fact, in every single case, the creation of these schemes has resulted in MORE of what they intended to solve in the first place. And they are all going bankrupt now within the confines of an already bankrupt federal government. The fact that this escapes you is, frankly CPA, surprising. I know you’re a liberal, but I’ve not considered you a leftist freak so far. There is a difference, and you know what I mean. Don’t go over the deep end. Once your brain is too infested, it’s nearly impossible to cure and leads to stunningly stupid conclusions.
“Liberalism is the disease that presents itself as its own cure.” – Not sure who said it first, but it wasn’t me.
Nor is there anything in the Constitution that prohibits the federal government from “robbing Peter to pay Paul.”
Your calling me a liberal would give my friends a good laugh. I’ve been accused of being “slightly to the right of Attila the Hun.”
You’re absolutely wrong about the various federal programs failing to achieve their goal. Their goal was to put money in people’s pockets and the help them pay bills that they couldn’t otherwise afford.
What is your vision of America? Impoverished people sleeping in doorways and dying from curable illnesses, just so your taxes would be lower? You’re not a conservative. You’re a miserable individual. Rot in hell.
You did not answer my question about where the government gets money to “replenish” SS… I am waiting…………….
Taxation…. otherwise known as confiscating the private earnings of some people to pay for the private benefits of others. This is the classic Ponzi Scheme. You’ve just admitted it.
See CPA… you can learn something every day. Good for you.
All taxation is confiscation in a sense. Does that surprise you?
I understand your point. But not really agreed. I don’t consider my local taxes that pay for the cops, rescue squad, fire, road maintenance, and necessities like that I use and benefit from to be confiscation. Sorry. Not many people will agree with such an expansive definition.
The term “confiscation” is your term to characterize taxation, not mine. If it’s too expansive, then it’s you who expanded it through your ill chosen words.
The government gets money to continue Social Security and Medicare through the trust funds for both entities, and through taxation. The wealthy get government largesse by using their reduced taxes to invest in treasury instruments (not jobs), the interest for which is paid by – our taxes. I don’t know about you, but I can’t afford $500K per year to invest in T-bills. The wealthy own more American debt than China and Japan together. China and Japan own, MAYBE, as much as $4T in American debt. The top 1% in this country own about 8 times that.
Hasty… you wrote> “The government gets money to continue Social Security and Medicare through the trust funds for both entities, and through taxation.”
2 things in response: First, there is no trust fund. You are delusional if you think there is. There is NO MONEY set aside. It’s all gone. Second, You are 100% correct when you say SS payments are funded by today’s taxes. This is the classic definition of a Ponzi Scheme. Take from the new guy coming in and give to the old guy going out. Even the actuaries and Trustees of SS & Medicare are saying they are going bankrupt and are on unsustainable courses. Why is this so hard for you to understand? The cold hard truth, Hasty, is that you are taking money from other people who earned it. It is immoral. Your arguments go against the facts because this is how you alleviate your conscience for stealing that which is not yours. I understand, my friend.
You wrote> “The wealthy get government largesse by using their reduced taxes to invest in treasury instruments (not jobs), the interest for which is paid by – our taxes.”
My response: First… How in the hell is it considered largesse for someone to keep what is theirs in the first place? You and all the other leftist freaks around here seem to think you have a bigger claim to the earnings of another person that that person has themself. It’s truly amazing how your twisted logic of jealousy and envy can be deployed to make you think in such a unfathomably stupid manner. The facts simply do NOT reveal any of what you say to be true. It really is mind boggling. Second… I am not a 1%er, but I don’t begrudge those who are. The one’s I know work their a$$es off for what they have. The truth is that the top 10% of earners pay about 75% of all income taxes. The top 1% pay abourt 40% of all income taxes. How in the hell is that NOT paying their “fair share”? You can’t be that stupid, Hasty. Either you are, or you’re simply guided by jealousy and envy and you’re a sucker for populist propaganda from the left. Don’t be such a sucker. And if the top 10% pay 75% of all income taxes, then it is fair to say that their taxes come back to them when they collect interest paymens on US Treasuries. That’s not hard to figure out with basic 4th grade thinking.
Have a nice day, Hasty!
You, sir, are a fool. I have not stolen anything. The Social Security and Medicare benefits I receive I have paid for. If, for some reason, you wish to refuse these benefits when you become eligible and need them, feel free to do so. As FICA taxes have risen over the years, more and more interest has accumulated in MY Social Security account, interest that you begrudge ME but not the wealthy who finance their retirements with the same Treasury instruments used to fund my retirement. How do you imagine $30T in wealth has been transferred from the middle class to the wealthy over the past 40 years? After all, through our taxes, we (that includes even you) finance Treasury instruments and their accruing interest. The top one percent in this country own more US debt (by a factor of 6-8) than China and Japan combined.
Hasty…. I am sorry to inform you, but you have been duped into believing that SS is some form of a savings or investment. IT IS NOT. It has never been anything more than a tax, like any other tax. Except in this case, they crafted a careful lie that many people were duped into believing, including you. SS is a tax like any other, and it’s purpose is to raise revenue for politicians to spend and line their pockets. This is why there is NO MONEY in SS. There is no fund where you’re money is growing. The money you get today COMES DIRECTLY FROM MY PAYCHECK TO YOUR POCKET. If you really believe otherwise, you sir, are a fool. You are stealing money and are justifying it because you had money stolen from you, but were duped. YOU WERE DUPED! You know this deep in your own heart, but you just can’t admit it because your own personal greed demands that you take from others that which they have earned. And it’s even easier if you have a proverbial boogieman like wealthy people to blame. This alleviates your conscience somewhat, I am sure, but it does not change the cold hard truth.
Here’s a good explanation for you to listen to…
It’s true, Hasty. I am sorry to be the one to inform you, but you have been lied to and used by politicians for most of your life. Time to wake up my friend.
And the credentials of those on Stansberry Radio are what? Are they recognized and respected economists? Do they even have degrees in economics? Does anybody other than you seek out their knowledge and advice? Have they had any experience in advising ANYBODY regarding economic or financial issues?
So, I suppose what you are saying is that I and those to whom I listen are mistaken when we say that the wealthy hold trillions in US debt instruments, upon which they are earning yearly billions, which are, coincidentally, paid by tax dollars. The reason they are capable of holding such large amounts of Treasury instruments in your opinion has nothing to do, at all, with the reduction in their federal income tax burden over the past forty years. And, I must further assume, you actually believe they have been spending their tax holiday revenues in creating jobs, jobs that the federal government is incapable of creating.
Our truths are quite different.
BTW… Hasty, you did not answer my questions above. Please do so. AFLAC was a nice redirection of the conversation, but it avoided the questions as hand that I raised. Looking forward to your reply I remain….
You forgot to tell him that he’s an elitist prick, like his hero Mitt Romney.
I’ll leave that to you. You have such a nice way with words. As usual, you are right on.
Are you out here plagiarizing again, you nutty bigot? Don’t you have crosses to burn or NAMBLA meetings to attend? Why do you post under both Obozo and Infidelicious when just one of you is vile enough for anybody?
(psssst……blacker than ever — hee-hee!)
what’s up whut…. I mean Fern…. you racist bigot? You’re still stalking me, I see. And what’s with your obsession with pedophilia/NAMBLA? Something is up with you. You don’t seem quite right. Are your fantasies just the other side of strange? Seems like it.
“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a
storybook, man.” –Joe “Plugs” Biden on Barack WhoIsInsane Obozo
OMG: it is disgusting for WhutHeSaid to make light of sexually children to try to get upvotes from his liberal buddies. I would think that is one thing liberals and conservatives can agree on. Why would someone upvote that or think he is funny for using NAMBLA to insult people? Only a pedophile or child predator would find it funny. WhatHeSaid is clearly a little obsessed with the topic isn’t he? It’s creepy
It’s definitely creepy, alright. Interesting how if you talk to someone enough, their true colors show up sooner or later. And his true colors reflect a potentially sick individual with a puzzling obsession with sexually abused children and NAMBLA. Who the heck would upvote such psycho?
who would upvote WhutHeSAid on child sexual abuse jokes? probably dirtnappy and robert hastings and eleanore.whitaker…. they are all a little “off”. Have a great day OMG… I have to get a little work done so I can pay obozo taxes to keep sending cheques to those three..-dont want them to run out of koolaid, diapers and poptarts……..;-)
definitely, dirtnappy would upvote anything having to do with deviant sexual behavior…. just sayin
The real harm being done to the American middle class is the erosion of its financial position by the rich, which is the policy of the Republican Party.
Any member of the poor or middle classes who votes Republican is cutting his or her own throat. We can bemoan the actions of the right wingers like Dubya Bush, Tricky Dick Cheney, the Krotch Brothers, Lyin Ryan, the neocons, etc., but as long as some of us continue to vote Republican, we’re perpetuating the denigration of the Middle and Poor Classes.
Since we have many efforts to consider, the basis for deciding our pursuits must be estimates of useful value rather than merit.
