WATCH: If Chris Christie Wasn’t Behind The GW Bridge Shutdown, Who Was?

The George Washington Bridge fiasco starring Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ) has now resulted in two resignations and no real answers about why two lanes of the world’s busiest bridge heading out of Fort Lee, New Jersey were suddenly and inexplicably closed in September.

Was it really about a spontaneous traffic study that bridge officials were told to implement quietly — and never actually occurred?

Or was it a stunt designed to punish the mayor of Fort Lee for not endorsing the governor’s re-election?

Noting the governor’s history of using his political power for personal reasons, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow connected the dots in the scandal on Friday night.

5 Ways Republicans Could Still Lose The House

This should be the Republicans’ year. Democrats need to defend 20 U.S. Senate seats, seven of which are in states Mitt Romney won, even as he lost to President Obama by nearly 5 million votes. The GOP only needs to win six of those seats to take control of the upper house of Congress. In 2012,

Rand Paul Can Try To Be His Party’s Bill Clinton, But He’ll Never Be President

This post originally appeared at Eclectablog.com. Rand Paul continues to fling any turd he can find at the Clintons for pretty obvious reasons. The first-term senator from Kentucky has to do something to show the GOP establishment he can be competitive in a general election, and he’s trying to keep the former president out of

5 Reasons It’s Time For The GOP To Dump Sarah Palin And The Tea Party

Conservative columnist Matt Lewis seems relieved. “We may have finally reached a tipping point: Conservatives, it seems, are finally safe to criticize Sarah Palin (without fear of being written out of the movement, that is),” he wrote on Tuesday. A flurry of criticism from the right has swarmed around the one-time Republican nominee for vice

This Republican attack piece by Maddow makes Fox New’s political punditry look like a business report from the Wall Street Journal.

    • Sand_Cat

      How, specifically?

      • angelsinca

If Maddow splayed even a portion of Obama’s past as she did Christie’s, comics wouldn’t have him to kick around.

        • disqus_fsqeoY3FsG

Is that a photo of your brain exploding?

        • Sand_Cat

          That was specific?

          • angelsinca

OK, so you need a picture drawn for you. If the governor of NJ was not a republican, the closing of the Washington Bridge for whatever reason, would not have been covered by Rachel Maddow, GOP attack dog. Is this clear enough for you? Blink twice for yes, once for no.

You mean Faux News and all the women they have sitting on couches and chairs with short skirts riding up and therefore the men don’t pay attention to the content of what they are saying just their body. If they put Plastic Barbie Dolls up their they would have the same result and it would cost them less.
Rachel Maddow did not attack Republicans she brought up questions about the Lane Closure, Christie and his two appointees who resigned. How is that an attack on Republicans.

Well stated, am also disgusted with Fox News women. Call it attack on women or whatever,¨it is all about giving our views. There is totally nothing these women contribute to any discussion. I urge anyone to listen to them carefully and see whether you can pick even one point which makes sense. None. Regarding angelsinca, she has no clue at all what it means by the Word: ATTACK.

” Regarding angelsinca, she has no clue at all what it means by the word: ATTACK”

Right, no clue, little black kettle. Got it. Lane closures are serious biz. Much more serious than Amercans being abandoned and killed. Or, being harassed by the IRS or lavished with favor for political support.

All phoney “scandals” invented by those like you who are desperate to find anything to distract attention from the grotesque and childish misconduct of your party over the last 20 years or so.

          • angelsinca

Democrats have to go back 20 years to find dirt on the GOP. We don’t have to look any further than now to find misconduct, fraud and deception. Please hurry up with whatever you folks are doing so we can return to the normally scheduled program of a united America.

You forgot to mention their shrill nasal voices with which they can drown out what any vaguely liberal guest tries to say.

Sorry I live in NJ and it’s not Maddow running the story but the lead NJ paper is. The only thing Christie can do now is to hunker down and pray for a major storm to hit and take this off the front page

Payback is a bitch…Loretta’s getting back at him and about time, too!

During his recently acceptance speech of his win, Chris Christie said Washington has to look at New Jersey what they have done. If this stinking behaviour is what he meant, am sorry to let him know, on this, it is only the cold shoulder he can receive.

  • howa4x

Christie is a lot like Nixon, since they both use/used enemies lists that they waged vendetta’s against. Nixon got caught using the IRS to punish detractors, and now Christie is caught using his man inside the port of NY/NJ authority to reek havoc on a democratic mayor who didn’t endorse him last election. Basically the plan was to shut down 3 of the 4 lanes leading from his town adjacent to the bridge and cause massive backups which it did. Some 5 hrs long. Since the PA is shared by both states the NY side has the director this year and when He found out he hit the roof and immediately ordered all lanes open. It was then found out that the one who ordered the closure was a childhood friend of Christie placed 3rd in command at the port by the governor. The claim of a traffic study proved false and not the rain of resignations is coming down including the governors chief of staff and the friend. Kind of like Nixon when Watergate erupted. Same pattern of resignations. But the plot sickens because the NJ democrats in the senate won’t let go of this issue and are holding hearings. One of the rank and file Port employees has already testified that there was no reason for the closure. The protagonist FOC will testify next week . Christie will not come out of this looking good. Bye Bye moderate tag.

The other thing about him was that his job paid over $150k per year and had no job description. Christie apparently paid off his childhood friend.
