Wayne LaPierre’s Election Message To The NRA: America Is An Unlivable Hellscape

Wayne LaPierre's letter to NRA

The leader of the National Rifle Association insisted he wasn’t “crazy,” “paranoid,” or “nuts” before ranting to NRA members in an “urgent” video message where he made claims at odds with reality, including claiming that his widely ridiculed prediction that President Obama would come for Americans’ guns “came true.”

During a six-minute get out the vote video, NRA executive vice president and CEO Wayne LaPierre described America after eight years of Obama as president in hellish terms unrecognizable to anyone who actually lives here, claiming that the president has “laid waste to the America we remember” causing the country to “completely unravel.”

After describing a calamitous America, LaPierre claimed, “I told you exactly what [Obama] would do. The media said I was nuts. But in the end, America knows I was right.” You decide whether LaPierre was right:

  • LaPierre said his prediction that Obama “would come for our guns and do everything in his power to sabotage the Second Amendment” “came true” following the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre, when Obama “exploited a horrible tragedy to launch a blizzard of gun bans, magazine restrictions, and gun registration schemes against law abiding gun owners all across the country.” (Nothing proposed by Obama would have violated the Second Amendment as understood in the Antonin Scalia-authored Supreme Court decision District of Columbia v. Heller. The background check bill that was voted on in the Senate after the massacre specifically prohibited the creation of registries.)

  • Following terror attacks carried out by ISIS, LaPierre claimed Obama “attacked you harder than he attacked ISIS. He used the terrorism his own weaknesses and failures made possible to try to gut your right to shoot back at the terrorists he refused to kill.” (As commander-in-chief, Obama is actually carrying out a military campaign against ISIS which routinely kills the group’s leaders and fighters. Nothing Obama has ever proposed would bar citizens from shooting back at terrorists.)

  • LaPierre claimed that Obama “has transformed America into a sanctuary nation for felons, criminal gangbangers, drug dealers, repeat offenders, and illegal aliens” and that “our inner cities now rank among the most dangerous places in the world.” (Although there have been upticks as well as dips, violent crime has continued to fall under President Obama.)

  • LaPierre said Obama “handed nuclear bombs to the Iranian mullahs who dream of killing us all.” (In fact, the deal negotiated with Iran will make it much more difficult for that country to make a nuclear bomb.)

  • Under Obama, LaPierre claimed, “Our economy is on life support. Health care is an utter failure. Our schools have never been worse. You can see the despair in every parent’s eyes.” (The economy is growing, the uninsured rate is an all-time low, and the high school graduation rate is at a record high.)

  • LaPierre claimed Clinton “will come for your guns, she will attack your right to carry, she will attack your most basic right to defend your family with a firearm in your home.” (Independent fact-checkers have repeatedly debunked the claim that Clinton opposes gun ownership or that she has indicated she would abolish the Second Amendment.)

If the present-day America described by LaPierre is frightening, the scenario he describes if Clinton were to be elected is outright terrifying. According to LaPierre, Clinton’s election would harken “the creation of a new, post-freedom America that you won’t even recognize” as Clinton twists “a knife into the heart of the one freedom that separates us from the rest of the world.”

Displaying his trademark paranoia, LaPierre — irresponsibly and without evidence — claims that guns would be “forcibly” confiscated during Clinton’s presidency and “if you refuse to witness the self-destruction of the greatest nation the world has ever known” then NRA voters must ensure Clinton’s defeat so that America “will be great again.”

LaPierre offered one more falsehood in his video message: He said that NRA supporters “are the Special Forces that swing elections.” The idea that the NRA has the ability to determine election outcomes has actually been vastly overstated.

LaPierre’s entire paranoid rant:

WAYNE LAPIERRE: I spent my entire life fighting for the Second Amendment and I’ve got the scars to prove it. The media and many in the political class have reserved some of their most vicious, nasty insults for me. Because they truly hate the freedom that I stand for and they hate that I tell the truth. They’ve called me crazy, paranoid, evil, and far worse. But the media is so focused on me, they forgot about you, the tens of millions of gun owners all over America. The men and women who come up to me at guns shows in places like Tulsa and Harrisburg, the mechanics and taxi drivers and Waffle House waitresses who tell me, “Never ever back down.” You give me the strength to speak the plain honest truth in the face of all the hate.

When I said Barack Obama would come for our guns and do everything in his power to sabotage the Second Amendment, they savaged me. They called me a liar. But every one of those predictions came true. As soon as it was politically convenient, he exploited a horrible tragedy to launch a blizzard of gun bans, magazine restrictions, and gun registration schemes against law-abiding gun owners all across the country.

I stood in front of the country and said, “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.” I said our children deserve at least the same level of protection that surrounds our jewelry stores, banks, office buildings, celebrities, and the political and media elite. They attacked me like never before. But you stood your ground, and you told me to stand mine.

While radical Islamic terrorists shot, bombed, and butchered innocent Americans on our own soil, Barack Obama attacked you harder than he attacked ISIS. He used the terrorism his own weaknesses and failures made possible to try to gut your right to shoot back at the terrorists he refused to kill. Thank God we stopped him in his tracks. But while his term ends in a matter of months, his two Supreme Court appointees, easily among the worst justices to ever sit on that bench, will come after our guns for the rest of their lives. Eight years of his policies have laid waste to the America we remember. Through a deliberate lack of prosecution, he has transformed America into a sanctuary nation for felons, criminal gangbangers, drug dealers, repeat offenders, and illegal aliens. Our inner cities now rank among the most dangerous places in the world. Teenage girls are trafficked in sex trade that begins south of our porous border and ends up right under the noses of the elites in cities like Washington, D.C.

His foreign policy enabled and inspired ISIS, handed nuclear bombs to the Iranian mullahs who dream of killing us all, emboldened Russia, China and North Korea, and left Europe on the brink of absolute implosion. Even the weakest leaders of third-rate countries feel free to publicly mock and disrespect our president while the world’s most cunning, power-hungry negotiators played him for a fool.

Our economy is on life support. Health care is an utter failure. Our schools have never been worse. You can see the despair in every parent’s eyes. Eight years; that’s all it took for our country to completely unravel. I told you exactly what he would do. The media said I was nuts. But in the end, America knows I was right.

So feel free to mark my words: If, God forbid, Hillary Clinton is elected, she will launch an all-out war on the Second Amendment. She will come for your guns, she will attack your right to carry, she will attack your most basic right to defend your family with a firearm in your home. And she will continue the disastrous policies of this administration to their inevitable conclusion: the creation of a new, post-freedom America that you won’t even recognize.

There is no red line President Hillary Clinton will not cross when it comes to attacking your rights and forcibly taking your guns. She dreams of twisting a knife into the heart of the one freedom that separates us from the rest of the world. The only thing that can stop her is you. The NRA’s 5 million members are history’s most committed, most elite defenders of freedom. You are the Special Forces that swing elections, and I need you now more than ever.

Fight with me; stand by my side like you have at all these years. If you cherish the freedom that was won for you at Lexington and Concord and on the shores of Normandy, if you believe that this freedom makes America better and stronger than every other country, if you refuse to witness the self-destruction of the greatest nation the world has ever known, then join me: Arm in arm, shoulder to shoulder, we will fight for each other, for our children and for future generations, and for our shared dream that American can and will be great again. On November 8th, you are freedom’s safest place.

I’ve always wanted to ask Wayne or the other gun nuts, if we’ve got FEMA Camps, and President Obama’s going to take your guns and lock you in them, how come you’re still walking around?

Equally this is just more of the radicalization of the Republican Party over the last 30 some years.

Ever wonder why “compromise” has become a dirty word among Republicans?

    1. Dominick Vila October 25, 2016

The fact that criminals and mentally

unstable people are running around shooting innocent people, children, and police officers, doesn’t seem to bother in the least. In fact, I would not be surprised if they interpret the incidence of gun violence as the result of some nefarious ploy by President Obama, including mass disarmament!

      1. FireBaron October 25, 2016

Oh, they have. Add to that their denials of certain events actually happening (Columbine, Sandy Hook, etc.) and you have a whole category of new conspiracy theorists claiming these “make-believe massacres” were invented to grab everyone’s guns.

        1. dpaano October 25, 2016

From what I understand, the Trumpsters seem to think that some of these events; i.e., Sandy Hook, 9/11, etc., were “inside” jobs by our government. Seriously???

      2. Box October 25, 2016

Not true, Dominick. Everyone is appalled. The issue is elsewhere. Please see the issue.
        1) Everyone has a right to a gun
        2) Use the gun in crime, suffer the consequences as a law breaker
        3) Enforce the laws already on the books–and thats been the NRA message for quite some time.

Thats it! The problem is that the president wants the power to decide who gets a gun and who doesnt. Who is to say who is unstable? You? Obama? Congress? Who? The gun community says its unfair, in the light of no crime, to hinder the right. Let the crime occur and then pound the criminal to dust. Thats the way we have done things for 200 years. Obama has suggested a “pre-crime” scenario, wishing to unilaterally decide who might be a criminal in some distant future and thats whats wrong, thats what the argument is about. Would you like to have your drivers licence revoked because you look the type to have an accident one day? Would someone like their kid to be refused entry into a school because he/she seems a bit high strung and will probably be a troublemaker or bully one day? Who would like to be told they cant fly because they look at an arab terrorist? Who would accept all this? Nobody.

Where the problem becomes hairy is what we are in right now. First it was, as you say, the unstable. But it got extended to Veterans, those on Social Security, and in Obamacare doctors offices wherein the doctor would refuse treatment based on gun ownership as “a poor lifestyle choice.” In other words, all are game until there are no guns left and at that point its easy to finally extinguish the right. Any excuse can be made–you look ill, you look old, you look weird, you have freckles, you have children to consider. It can start and never end and thats what the anger is about. NRA is saying, the way to stop abuse of unilateral decisions is to rely on the law and the Constitution. (Of course, progressives want unilateral central decisions but thats another thread.)

NRA is very old, you know, and unlike whats been said in these threads, NRA doesnt sell or even advocate gun ownership. They have never said Go Buy More Guns and have none for sale. It was a club of sportsmen to share hunting stories and information about what guns they used, like whats best for a deer? Later, in major pieces of legislation like the 1968 Gun Control Act under Johnson, the members asked the leadership to advocate for them so that they wouldnt lose their guns. NRA created committees that eventually took on the role of lobbyists for rights, and that included by then general industry advocacy. Many upon many law-abiding gun owners are not members of NRA because they dont believe NRA really works hard for them so why pay dues which seem to just line pockets? That said, Hillary has vowed to vaporize the NRA because she doesnt want any advocacy of any kind. This only adds to the community anger–which isnt a good thing.

To summarize, if you look around gun forums you will plainly see that gun owners are appalled, saddened and disgusted by ANY shooting. AND, all would agree that unstable people shouldnt have guns. BUT, since its impossible to agree on who and how instability would be credibly determined, rely on the law and Constitution to properly deal with crime. Sounds fair to me. If, as it has been said in NM, the government lacks the resources to enforce the law, THATS the problem to correct. Find the resources! No funds for law enforcement but endless funds for refugees, endless funds for war? Doesnt make any sense. It surely sounds like the truth to hear, ‘we dont have the resources for law enforcement so lets abolish guns and rights so we dont have to spend the money?’ Nobody will believe that ludicrous statement in a million years, not when $2 billion a week, or whatever that giant number is, is spent on worthless wars alone. Rightly then the gun community fears something else is afoot and the government does exactly nothing to quell the fears so what do you expect them to think? What the community, who you believe are paranoid, wants is for Obama to say in public, “Im not taking your guns, relax. Ask your Congressman to verify for you that no anti-gun legislation is being advocated by me or anyone in my administration.” Go ahead, lets hear that.

        1. RED October 25, 2016

You’re an idiot. Can’t argue with an idiot! And apparently a gun humper!!

          1. Sand_Cat October 25, 2016

No sense having a battle of wits with someone clearly unarmed; maybe that’s why he’s so desperate to keep his guns. Shooting someone is a lot easier than thinking, if you’re so inclined.

        2. Sand_Cat October 25, 2016

Again, I guess you can read minds, because you always “know” in detail the innermost motivations of a bunch of people you despise and clearly know nothing about, other than the lies on Fox and other right-wing outlets and those that are birthed in your tiny, feverishly-paranoid brain.

        3. dbtheonly October 25, 2016

My huge problem is that everyone can be pushed too far. Anyone can be pushed beyond their limits.

Any “good guy with a gun” can become the “bad guy with a gun” under the right (wrong) circumstances. And there’s no way to know those circumstances for each individual.

I also have a problem with guns in bars. We, rightly, restrict the use of automobiles by those who have been drinking. Restricting the use of guns by those who have been drinking seems reasonable.

          1. dpaano October 26, 2016

The biggest problem is that police answering a call of a shooting have NO idea who the “good” guy is and who the “bad” guy is, so they may end up shooting an innocent person who was only “trying to help.” Nowadays, if you’re a civilian near a shooting and have a gun in your possession, you’re being there is questionable and you could get shot because a cop might think you’re one of the instigators. Maybe we ought to require “good” guys to wear white and “bad” guys to wear black so we can tell the difference (being sarcastic here).

    2. Box October 25, 2016

Obama promised to not grab guns, it was a 2008 promise. But since the first day he has repeatedly tried but so far has failed. The fact that he failed doesnt mean the intent or effort wasnt there, and not that the gun community had nothing to fear. Hillary, certainly in leaked emails if nowhere else, has promised to finish the job that weak Obama couldnt do. In a White House Petition response by Obama, he vowed to remove guns as the best way to protect the Constitution. He also vowed further gun control actions before he leaves office and said that just during the summer.

As for FEMA camps, they are for societal breakdown that occurs in economic collapse or other disasters such as EMP, earthquake or other and everyone knows that. The use of the word in conservative circles is meant to describe those things, plus such situations which includes use during a civil war which many believe is inevitable. The term, “grab your guns and throw you in a fema camp” is the shortcut method of describing that. However, in the actual sense of that, it means that a city or state would create a gun ban and when people didnt turn them in, the police would start a house to house grab for guns and civil war could break out that way. In that case, FEMA would have to be used to house thousands of rebels–assuming the police won that battle. “Grab your guns and throw you in a FEMA camp.” Yes correct. Hardcore folks believe the government will create the start of such conflicts and are armed and ready to fight–a fight that may or not come.

What is it that you want to see compromise about?

      1. FireBaron October 25, 2016

Box, I’m gonna give you the benefit of the doubt here. The NRA has been screaming “the Democrats will take away your guns” since Ronald Reagan was President. They did all they could to gut the Brady Bill, even though it was fully supported by President Reagan. They have prevented common sense functions, such as valid national background checks to keep guns out of the hands of those on the federal register of who should not own them (Felons, persons on Terrorist Watch Lists, people undergoing psychiatric treatment for example). Had those protections been in place, many of the mass shootings we have experienced since the attempted assassinations of Ford and Reagan would not have taken place.
As for the FEMA camps, let’s put it this way, if your fantasy were true, you would currently be in one of those looking up at guard posts with their machine guns pointed at you. However, that could be a reality for Latinos and Muslims under a Teflon Donnie administration. Just like the Japanese in WW2 – interred for no other reason than their birth.

      2. dbtheonly October 25, 2016

First off, I’d like to see that those who are on the “no-fly” list of potential terrorists are prohibited from buying guns.

Next, I’d like to see that those who have been convicted of Domestic Violence Crimes are prohibited from buying guns.

Then, I’d like to see that “military style hardware” be prohibited for sale to individuals. Though I will give you that the devil is in the details here.

Are these too much to ask?

        To Wayne LaPierre they are.

        1. dpaano October 25, 2016

Yeah, I could NEVER understand why a person needed an AK-47 or any kind of machine gun….especially if you’re just a hunter. How fair is it for the poor animals when you’re coming at them with that kind of fire power? That’s not hunting….that’s just plain killing. A REAL man would learn to hunt with a hunting rifle like our grandparents used to use when they went out to get food! There’s NO need to be carrying a weapon that shoot several bullets in a second….that’s NOT hunting, people!!
By the way, I’m ex-military, so I’ve shot several types of weapons, and I think I understand more than most that high-powered machine guns are NOT for hunting animals for food OR sport.

          1. Paul Bass October 25, 2016

The ONLY 2 uses for these are:

1)go to a gun range, shoot off a few dozen rounds to get some sort of erection, or
            2)to kill someone.

How is either of these normal?

          2. dpaano October 26, 2016

          3. dbtheonly October 25, 2016

I’m not as concerned with what weapon is used for hunting. The key for me is that you have to eat what you kill.

          4. dpaano October 26, 2016

I just don’t think that it can be considered a sport when you have to use a machine gun to shoot a deer or whatever. That’s not anything CLOSE to a sport….it’s not fair for the animal you’re hunting, and it’s not a really fair thing for the hunter that he needs that much firepower to bring down an animal! Where’s the skill in that?

          5. dbtheonly October 26, 2016

I view it differently. Killing the animal for sport, to prove I can, is simply wrong, whatever weapon I use. Killing the animal do that I and others can eat, is acceptable, whatever weapon I use.

To your other comment, there are simply too many guns out there and it is impacting police behavior. It is hard for me to fault the police when they reasonably believe they are confronted by a gunman. Equally too many Black guys have been killed under just such circumstances.

      3. LaProgressive October 25, 2016

So, do you not see the economic connection here between the NRA and the gun manufacturers? Do you not see the direct correlation between making these outrageous claims over and over again and the rise in gun sales? Do a quick search and see the rise in gun sales since the first Clinton Presidency. See the drop off in sales during the Bush terms. The NRA doesn’t want Trump to be President. They want Hillary! Hillary sells more guns to the chumps out there who believe their fantacies.

      4. I Am Helpy October 25, 2016

Hahahaha yes all those times he “repeatedly tried”, that nobody ever noticed. You are frickkin delusional and therefore you shouldn’t have a gun.

      5. Sand_Cat October 25, 2016

Just when, SPECIFICALLY (need I define that word for you?) has Obama “repeatedly” tried to take anyone’s guns?
What SPECIFIC emails did Hillary leak?
Your whole post – like all of your posts – is absolutely fact-free made-up assertions by your favorite expert: you.

  2. Dominick Vila October 25, 2016

Sadly, millions of fellow Americans, most of them armed to the teeth, believe this garbage, are energized, and are voting accordingly. That so many people believe the rhetoric of charlatans like Trump and LaPierre, says more about our society than about the fear mongers that are manipulating a gullible segment of our population for their own gain.

    1. RED October 25, 2016

Yeah, there’s a frigging nutball show for morons who plan for the end of the world. There are certainly some real dangers we face, climate change among the top but the whacko theories these nutballs come up with or buy in to are unbelievable!! I saw one guy who was worried that a pole reversal will knock the Earth off its axis. Couple of problems, first NO, a pole reversal won’t knock the Earth off its axis. And second if the Earth gets knocked off his axis all the cans of beans ever made ain’t gonna save ya!

      1. dpaano October 25, 2016

I was just reading an article in a local paper (or it might have been a magazine) about people living in Idaho, Utah, and Washington state in commune-like communities. These are the ones that think they’re going to survive a nuclear attack, etc. on their little piece of the planet. They’ve built shelters, stocked up on food, rifles, ammo, etc., and are prepared for the end of the world as we know it! I really hate to let them know, but if the Yellowstone Mega-Volcano blows, they’re going to be in as much danger as the rest of us! They may last a couple of days longer than those of us who don’t have fully-stocked underground shelters, but you have to come out of the shelter eventually…..and the entire West Coast will be in the dark for centuries! Not much to look forward to and a big waste of money to me! Plus, they’re going to eventually run out of food, and there won’t be any grocery stores around to replenish their stock…..in fact, there won’t be any land available to even grow a crop! They may still be alive, but for how long? Seriously? These people are living in an alternative universe!

        1. Paul Bass October 25, 2016

Yea, remember “duck and cover”?All the bunkers from the 50s and 60s?

Let’s face it, it’ll be generations till the next “big one” why waste time and effort planning!

          1. dpaano October 26, 2016

I remember that too, and even at that young age, I wondered how “ducking and covering” was going to protect us from bombs! It just didn’t make sense to my already intelligent brain, but we were led to believe that this was going to work!!! Wouldn’t have protected us then and wouldn’t protect us now!

    2. dpaano October 25, 2016

Not sure where many of these people live, but if they ever stopped and took a look around, I’m sure they would see that this country is doing just fine. There’s no big hellfire going anywhere, at least not that I’ve seen.

      1. Dominick Vila October 25, 2016

I couldn’t agree with you more. Most of the complainers go on cruises almost every year, travel abroad, buy houses with kitchens and bathrooms that looks like ballrooms, own a couple of new cars, and have nothing to worry about when it comes to finances.
What is behind the hatred deals more with issues such as immigration, same-sex marriage, abortion, Obamacare, and fear of foreigners – especially Muslims – rather than economic matters. All we have to consider is where were we 8 years ago as a result of GOP policies, and where we are today and only the most radical or obtuse among us can make an argument to justify the claim that the country is moving in the wrong direction. I voted today, and I could not believe the number of cars with Trump stickers parked next to mine. They are energized, and voting in large numbers.

  3. Box October 25, 2016

    1. dbtheonly October 25, 2016

Do you really see a hellscape out there?

I drive to work, I see kids waiting for the school bus, same as always. The neighbor’s teaching his kid to ride a bike. Folks are playing softball on the field on Saturday and Sunday. Traffic is bad, but no worse than normal. People work, shop, attend church service, pretty much the same way every week.

Don’t you see the same things?

Where do you live that’s a hellscape?

      1. plc97477 October 25, 2016

Traffic is worse but only because of the lack of infrastructure spending.

        1. dpaano October 25, 2016

We can thank the Congress for that one…..they voted down a request from President Obama for money to fix the infrastructure which, by the way, would have added thousands of jobs in this country! Typical Congress…..they have done NOTHING to help this country in the past 7+ years and then try to blame the president for this lack of getting anything done for the American people!!!

      2. Mama Bear October 25, 2016

US crime rate at lowest point in decades. Why America is safer now.

The last time the crime rate for serious crime – murder, rape,
robbery, assault – fell to these levels, gasoline cost 29 cents a gallon
and the average income for a working American was $5,807.

      That was 1963.

In the past 20 years, for instance, the murder rate in the United States
has dropped by almost half, from 9.8 per 100,000 people in 1991 to 5.0

    1. Aaron_of_Portsmouth October 25, 2016

Yes, the mirage of Obama taking our guns away is just another of numerous hallucinations that bedevil the minds of conservatives.

      1. Sand_Cat October 25, 2016

He’s still waiting for the U.N. to send the black helicopters.

What must be asked for the all important sake of perspective, is who is Wayne LaPierre, anyway? And just as important, who is he not? He certainly is not a disinterested party. And there’s nothing that would lead anyone to believe he holds the best interests of gun owners, the Rights of gun owners, the safety of inner city dwellers, or the best interests of the Country as his prime directives. Nothing in his background or training should lead anyone to believe he is anywhere near qualified to make of any of the assertions he’s making. He’s not a sociologist, or an expert on crime. Or else he would know overall crime in the U.S. and especially violent crimes, are at historically low levels. No, what we should remember about Wayne LaPierre is he is primarily a gun lobbyist. And a member of the fear mongering cabal who’s interests involve essentially stampeding the populous into making certain decisions that benefit them, their political campaigns, or agendas, and their corporate employers.

I had this same argument with my niece and my response was “The world you describe does not exist.” She lives in a very affluent suburb of Dallas. She no more see’s a hellscape than a right wing utopia. But they are great right wing consumers of “fact” that only they can see. There is no talking to them about this either because “they know the truth!” Really sad.

Pepe Le Pew if you have such disdain for America than take a boat, plane, train and get out, please let the door hit you in the ass on your way out. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/ff922c40dacdb4ee0019595d0909130f3f33bc59c587d7a61118e3caa01ff751.jpg

Now, that’s a visual worthy of being put on billboards across the country. Thank you!!!

  10. RED October 25, 2016

Help me out here Lil’ Wayne P? If Obama came for our guns then what’s the worry about Hillary? Our guns have already been taken, right? Frigging moron.

  11. Ken Walker October 25, 2016

Is everyone on the RIGHT nuts?

    1. kep May 11, 2017

No. That would be the liberal commies that have lost it. Every day a new ploy. Too bad you didn’t do that with the illegal Obama regime. Hypocrisy runs rampant within the Democratic party, or should I say the New Amerikan Communist Party.

  12. Thomas Martin October 25, 2016

LaPierre is a mentally deficient earthling. Obama did not come for our guns. The NRA leadership was irresponsible in how it approached gun rights and ownership. You blew it Wayney Poo.

  13. Dan S October 25, 2016

Um ???? WTF is Wayne talking about ? He sounds exactly like the rantings of Trump. It’s no surprise how Donnie got the NRA endorsement. We have more guns than ever on the streets of America. To say that people are being denied their 2nd Amendment rights is laughable. Several states like Texas & Wisconsin have open carry laws, that sure won’t make me feel safer. Someone who has a quick temper wouldn’t hesitate to shoot whoever they’re having a dispute with. This guy Wayne is completely bonkers

Now, here we have a man who is in conflict with himself and with a changing world. He has become so balkanized in his thinking that in a perverse way of using “Occam’s Razor”, he has reduced society in a primitive manner according to “me versus you”, “us versus them”, “White America versus non-White America”, “Islam versus Christianity” “America versus the World”, “Trump’s World versus Other People’s Perception of the World”, “Women versus Men”.
These false dichotomies, unfortunately, have taken firm hold in the hearts and minds of too many Americans, which is in large measure why we are at the stage of crises that grips the nation.
If any sort of “Occam’s Razor” is to be employed, and one which we Baha’is feel is the root cause of the maladies afflicting humanity the world over, it is the Great Divide between Materialism and its attendant evils, and that of Spirituality.

Ironically, the rise of Materialism is the result of the weakening of the foundations of Religion, which unknowingly aided and nurtured materialism that has been growing by leaps and bounds for centuries now, and acquiring more virulent qualities along the way. Qualities such as Racialism, increasing misogyny, raping of the land and the environment, inordinate greed, distrust and fear over losing control of what we took for granted as ours, are a few of the forces corroding America. Elsewhere, we see nativism and fascism on the rise again, a desperation to arm ourselves to the teeth, bitter partisan political confrontations, religious fanaticism contributing to(among many other problems) a humanitarian crisis of epic proportions straining nerves and resources.

But by starting to investigate the Message of Baha’u’llah, openly, and with a clarity free of what our forefathers taught and unhindered by the man-made innovations of orthodoxy that stifle the original Messages of all the Religions of the past, we will see light at the end of the dark tunnel — tunnel created through the cooperation of unbridled liberalism on the one hand along with a rigid conservatism that is forever looking backwards, and with the aid of the NRA, racialist theories, the nihilism of philosophies espoused by such as the Alt-Right, and religious fanatics as well.

  15. Aiddon October 25, 2016

I must say it is satisfying to watch this greedy, amoral scumbag have a nervous breakdown as he realizes that the arms industry’s last foothold in advanced nations is slipping away. And they have no one but themselves to blame for it

  16. dpaano October 25, 2016

Personally, I think this guy is as crazy as Trump. He has NO idea what’s going on in our country and thinks that it’s falling apart when it’s actually doing much better than it has in years! I just hope that intelligent gun owners realize that his rants are ridiculous and vote for the right person. Hillary has NO plans to take anyone’s guns away…..she very clearly spelled that out in the 3rd debate. I’ve also heard that a good many….as many as 75-80% of NRA members agree that we need tighter restrictions on who can buy a gun, better background checks, and much of what Hillary has been discussing. Why would they listen to this nut case? He clearly needs someone to check his mental status because both he and Trump are seriously ill. We can also add Guiliani in that bunch too….seems like the nutcases tend to crowd together lately!

  17. Jon October 25, 2016

The children, violent offenders, and mentally ill have no business possessing a gun. I realize that including the mentally ill will necessarily include LaPierre. I think that is the possible restriction that most worries him. If the mentally ill are not allowed to have guns, then the government would be after LaPierre’s guns. He is obviously too far removed from a sane, honest, and rational view of the world to be trusted with a gun.

  18. Bud Friend October 25, 2016

If I believed one-half of his rant, I would flee the United States of America.

ThIs man is not a leader by any stretch of your imagination.

  19. ps0rjl October 25, 2016

I especially enjoyed reading how he is fighting against the government taking our guns. I can see him now doing the good fight. Of course if he fights like he did during Vietnam, we will have to see him fighting from a classroom. The man was and still is a draft-dodging coward. USMC9169-1971
